How to install and configure a Starline A91 car alarm with auto start?

Many security systems have additional options and capabilities that make life easier for their owner. For example, on Starline A91 it is autostart. Moreover, it can be installed on any car, including models such as VAZ 2110 or 2114. The car alarm connection diagram is quite simple and can be done in the garage. To do this you will need:

  • security system kit;
  • a set of tools including a drill, drills, screwdrivers, etc.;
  • soldering accessories: blowtorch, solder, tin, rosin;
  • electrical tape, heat shrink tubing and an industrial hair dryer.

The diagram is shown in the figure below.

To remotely start the motor, you need to connect a special six-pin connector. In this case, the wires are connected in a certain order.

  • the red cable (+12V) goes to the central locking;
  • yellow (IGN1) – cable for the ignition switch;
  • two black wires connect to the starter (thick) and the ignition switch (thin);
  • blue and green remain unconnected.

Setting up the Starline A91 alarm system for automatic start by time

The security system has the function of setting up remote start by time. This function allows you to start the engine at a specified hour, as well as warm it up before the owner arrives. If the first start attempt fails, then the next time the starter operating time increases by 0.2 seconds. After four unsuccessful attempts, a corresponding notification is sent to the key fob.

How to set autorun time

In order for the function to work correctly, you must set the correct time on the key fob. Afterwards, you need to enter the programming mode by pressing the Valet service button six times in the cabin (with the ignition off). After turning the key to the On position, the car will emit 6 beeps.

Now click the service button three more times, switching to the appropriate programming mode. The machine responds to each press with a sound signal. After this, within ten seconds you need to press the desired button on the key fob (the first key is every two hours, the second – three hours, the third – four hours). The procedure will be confirmed independently.

Enabling autostart on the Starline A91 alarm system by time

Disabling autorun by time

If necessary, you can refuse this function. Disabling occurs as follows:

  • Press button 3 for a long time (until the second signal);
  • the cursor moves to the fan icon;
  • The function is deactivated by briefly pressing the second button. To confirm this, the car will blink its headlights three times and beep.

Starting the engine on an alarm clock

You can configure the engine to start automatically using an alarm clock. To do this, you will first need to configure these parameters on the key fob itself. Press button 3 until a small melodic signal is played. After this, the clock parameter on the remote control should blink. Two more short presses allow you to configure the alarm clock settings. The required values are set by clicking on keys 1 and 2.

To activate the autostart function, you must successively press the third and first keys (after which the clock icon will flash, a melodious sound will sound, and the car will react with a flash of parking signals). Using buttons 1 or 2 you can set the required parameter. Then the third button is pressed again, and then key one (confirmation of alarm activation). Another long press of the third button allows you to activate the autostart mode on the alarm clock.

Changing the warm-up time on Starline A91

Depending on the selected settings, the car can warm up for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. This parameter is programmed after entering the service mode:

  • turn off the ignition and press the Valet service button in the cabin six times;
  • turn on the ignition, listen to six sound signals from the car;
  • The Valet key is clicked two more times;
  • the next click of the key fob buttons determines the warm-up time (the first key is 10 minutes, the second is 20, the third is 30). The command confirmation is accepted automatically; you just don’t need to press anything.

How to increase startup time from autostart on Starline A91

It happens that the car does not start in cold conditions if the starter operates for about a second (Starline A91 factory settings). In this case, you can extend its operating time. The instructions are as follows:

  • with the ignition off, you must press the Valet service button six times to enter the programming mode;
  • after turning the key (On), the car's lights will blink six times. Then you need to press the Valet key nine more times;
  • pressing any button on the key fob determines the starter rotation speed (first – 0.8 seconds, second – 1.4 seconds, third – 2.0 seconds). Long plus short click of the first button – 3.6 seconds.

To prevent the starter from turning when the engine is running, you need to connect the gray and red wire to the tachometer panel for automatic stop.

Forced autorun

To turn on Starline A91 autostart at any desired time, use the key fob. Naturally, a car with a manual transmission must first go through the specified “soft neutral” procedure and then not be disarmed.

To start the engine, first press button 1 of the key fob for a long time, after a short squeak press button 3. The display on the screen will change to “St”, the car will turn on the ignition and after the time specified by function 10 in the settings menu, it will try to start the engine. If the start is successful, the display will change again: a “smoke” will be drawn near the exhaust pipe on the display, and the countdown of the time remaining until the engine will turn off will begin. For example, if function 2 is set to value 3 (30 minutes), then the display will count down from “r30” to “r00”, after which the motor will be turned off. If the warm-up time is set to “infinity” (value 4), then the display will constantly indicate “g99”.

Since setting up the Starline A91 autostart requires access to the car, it is possible, if necessary, to extend the warm-up time remotely. To do this, while the engine is running, you need to press the same autostart buttons again - first button 1 for a long time, and then button 3 briefly. The countdown timer will be reset to the initial value and will start counting again from the interval specified in the settings - for example, if the warm-up time is set to 10 minutes, and at the 9th minute you extend the warm-up time, the motor will run for a total of 19 minutes.

To turn off the engine before automatic shutdown, press button 2 for a long time, and then button 3 briefly.

Setting up the Starline A91 alarm system for automatic start based on temperature

  • turn off the ignition, press the Valet key six times;
  • turn on the ignition, click Valet four more times;
  • Now the first button on the key fob will set the parameter -5 degrees, the second - minus 10, the third - minus 18. A long and then short press of the first button is responsible for setting the parameter - 25 degrees Celsius.

How to change the autostart temperature on Starline A91 from the key fob

How to set autostart on the key fob based on engine temperature

Now the main parameters are set, all that remains is to activate the autostart function based on temperature:

  • press the third key for a long time until the second melodic signal is played by the key fob;
  • Click on the third button two more times so that the cursor on the display moves to the thermometer icon;
  • To activate, you need to press the first key once.

Now the car will start at the temperature specified by the owner.

Disabling autostart based on temperature

If the car owner leaves for a long time or automatic start based on temperature is not necessary, then this function can be removed. The procedure is similar:

  • long press the third button (until the second sound signal);
  • press the third key twice more briefly to move the cursor to the thermometer icon;
  • Use the second button to deactivate this function.

Autostart Starline A91: setting up basic functions

Although the Starline A91 is outdated by modern standards (lack of flexible channels, support for CAN/LIN buses, use of a 433 MHz radio channel), there are still a lot of alarm systems of this model in service. And questions often arise about setting it up: for example, how to set up Starline A91 autostart by time or set autostart from the key fob. Especially if the car was purchased on the secondary market, and the instructions for the alarm system installed on it have long been lost.

Why doesn't auto start work on the alarm?

Sometimes it happens that the autorun function does not work. For example, the starter turns the engine, but it does not start. In this case, it is necessary to check the presence of gasoline in the tank, as well as the charge of the battery. In the first case, everything is clear - you need to add gasoline. Secondly, charge the battery.

It is also possible that the engine does not start when cold and even has difficulty starting with the key. In this case, you can set settings that will increase the starter operating time. You can also reduce the interval between startup attempts.

But the most common reason why a car won't start is simple inattention. Such reasons include the gear being engaged (for cars with automatic transmission drive), unlocked door lock, etc. It happens that the car stops starting due to the fact that the system does not receive the signal well.

In this case, the key fob displays information and immediately writes an error. To reset the protocol, you need to start the engine again with the key and tighten the handbrake. Then remove the key from the ignition, open the driver's door and activate the alarm again. Usually the car is armed again, and the OS7 error simply disappears. However, this is not always the case. If this does not happen, then you need to contact the service center.

Basic requirements for implementing StarLine autorun

Before remote starting, make sure that:

  • the hood is closed, the parking brake is on;
  • for cars with a manual transmission - the “program neutral” procedure has been performed (preliminary preparation for starting the engine);
  • for cars with automatic transmission - the control lever is in the “PARK” position.

Remote engine starting cannot be performed in the following cases:

  • ignition on;
  • the hood is open;
  • the parking brake is turned off or the brake pedal is pressed;
  • preparation for starting the engine on vehicles with manual transmission (“program neutral”) has not been completed.

During one starting cycle, the system can make 3-4 attempts to start the engine. If after the 3-4th attempt the engine does not start, the “OST” or “” icon will be displayed on the display of the remote control with feedback (provided that it is in the reception area) and the remote control will emit 4 beeps.

1. How launch functions work: principles and nuances

To ensure correct operation of StarLine B9 autorun, you first need to configure a number of important parameters.

The first step depends on the car itself, in particular on the type of transmission. It determines the main preparatory activities.

So, before starting the setup, you need to find a short loop of black wire in the 18-pin connector harness and do the following:

  • if the car has a manual transmission, cut the loop;
  • if the car is equipped with an automatic transmission, do not touch it and leave the short loop intact.

The second step is to choose the engine type. The security system provides different starter start delay times. The car owner needs to choose a specific time, taking into account what kind of engine he has.

Function No. 10 in the car alarm is responsible for this (in table No. 2 of programming the launch parameters). If the engine is gasoline, then the delay is 4 seconds, if it is diesel - 4, 6 and 10 seconds. If the car is equipped with a start button, you additionally need to configure function No. 8 from the table. No. 2 for option 3.

Important nuances of autorun operation:

  • The engine can start provided that the parking brake is applied, all doors and hood are closed and the ignition is turned off. In addition, with a manual transmission, you need to perform preparation by turning on “soft neutral”.
  • The number of startup attempts is 4 in one cycle.
  • If the engine starts faster than the starter cranking time has expired, the starter will turn off ahead of schedule, and if it stalls ahead of schedule, the system will try to start it again.
  • The maximum time for the first attempt to rotate the starter is set by programming and can be 0.8; 1.2; 1.8 or 3.6 s.
  • If, with a discharged battery, the supply voltage drops below +10V at the time the engine starts, then all autostarts will be cancelled.
  • If necessary, you can set it to automatically start at a certain temperature, as well as by alarm and timer. These functions can work separately from each other.

Reviews

I recently picked up a car and it already had Starline A91 installed. I will say this - a very advanced car alarm for the money. The feedback is very good - on the key fob it is immediately clear what is on, although there are a whole bunch of different indicators. And the display itself is well backlit, even on a sunny day it does not overexpose and remains informative. In general, I am completely satisfied with it, I think that I would install this particular system on another car.

I chose Starline A91 after much deliberation. I say that I was right. Just a great alarm for the money. There is everything you can - autostart, feedback and a turbo timer, which is very important for me. Each parameter can be configured separately, which is convenient. I drink coffee in the morning, and then I go out and get into the already warmed-up car, thanks to the autostart. What’s also cool is that you can install a GSM module and control some functions directly from your phone. It's really convenient. Especially for the price at which the Starline A91 is valued.

The functions of automobile security systems include a mode for remote or automatic start of the power unit, which allows you to warm up the engine in winter. Autostart Starline A91 allows you to turn on the engine depending on the ambient temperature or at a specified time. The user activates the service and configures the operating mode using the remote control.

How to enable autorun

Enabling autostart implies the preliminary installation of a temperature sensor, which is installed on the engine cylinder block or on the coolant supply lines. To switch the sensor, a contact equipped with a cable with orange-black insulation is used (part of the 18-pin block of the alarm processor unit). To ensure that the automatic motor start function works, you need to configure the equipment.

The design of the 18-pin connector includes a loop cable equipped with a black insulator. When installing the product on a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission, the circuit must be opened. On cars with automatic transmission, it is necessary to keep the chain in a closed state. The automatic start algorithm provides for 4 rotations of the shaft by the starter; adjustment of the number of starts is not provided. Each subsequent start attempt is characterized by an increase in the starter operating time (by 0.2 seconds).

1. Selecting the type of vehicle gearbox

To enable autorun, you need to program several parameters. The first is the type of gearbox: manual (manual transmission) or automatic (automatic transmission). If your car has a manual transmission, then you need to cut the black loop in the wiring harness of the 18-pin connector in the central unit; if you have an automatic transmission, you don’t need to do anything, the loop should remain.

Loop responsible for programming the gearbox

How to program

To change the parameters, find the settings button and press it 6 times, and then turn on the ignition. The system will sound 6 siren signals, confirming it is ready for programming. You can configure the autostart of the Starline alarm in accordance with the configuration tables given in the instructions.

To select a function, press the hidden setting key (from 1 to 12 times). Then the owner presses the buttons located on the remote control, selecting the desired mode value (for example, the threshold temperature value or the engine operating time during the warm-up cycle). After this, the user turns on the alarm for the starter operating time, depending on the type of engine and its technical condition.

When using automatic starting on a diesel engine, it is necessary to provide a delay between turning on the electrical circuits and activating the starter. The period of time is necessary to warm up the glow plugs located in the block head. Heated metal elements increase the air temperature, making the starting procedure easier. The complex allows you to select the time from the values of 5, 10 and 20 seconds. The basic delay of 2 seconds is for a gasoline engine.

Then the control of the operation of the power unit is configured, which is necessary for timely shutdown of the starter. The design of the security complex allows you to determine the operation of the power plant by the voltage value in the on-board network, by the presence of a signal in the positive or negative circuit of the generator and by the signal transmitted to the tachometer.

Additionally, the ignition support function is configured, ensuring safe operation of the engine in the absence of the owner in the cabin.

If the car is equipped with a special button for starting and stopping the engine, it is necessary to adjust the operation algorithm of the power output (the signal on the blue cable coming from the 6-pin harness). The final programming and selection of the method for automatically turning on the engine is carried out using 3 buttons on the remote control, which are indicated by a lock icon (with a closed and open shackle) and an asterisk. Before installing automatic start, you must go through a program neutral installation cycle (necessary for cars with a manual transmission).

After setup, you need to check the correct operation of the starting system. To test, you need to turn on the ignition and then press the button with the star icon. The key icon turns on on the screen (against the background of the windshield). An additional test is carried out with the engine running: after pressing the same key, the display additionally displays an icon simulating the flow of exhaust gases. If there are no icons or other icons are displayed, you need to check the settings of the security system (in accordance with the instructions).

Autostart based on engine temperature

Adjusting the Starline alarm to start the engine based on temperature involves setting the central unit to a temperature threshold. The parameter is selected from the range -5°, -10°, -18° and -25°C. When the sensor cools below the programmed value, the crankshaft is cranked by the starter and the unit warms up. To start, it is allowed to use a sensor located in the engine compartment and a sensor located in the vehicle interior.

The minimum time interval between restarts is 1 hour. The time spent warming up the engine is not taken into account. The user cannot change the repetition frequency, since the parameter is determined by external temperature conditions. Setting autostart based on temperature does not provide restrictions on the number of repeated warm-ups (depending only on the life of the vehicle’s battery).

To activate the service, you will need to press the key marked with an asterisk. After giving the melody and a series of 3 short beeps, the cursor programming method is activated. The user moves the cursor with short actions on the button with an asterisk; after selecting the icon with the thermometer icon, it is necessary to change the value of the function. To activate, you need to press the key with the locked padlock symbol. When temperature triggering is enabled, parallel modes can be activated (by alarm or timer).

The key fob will give a melodic signal, accompanied by a flash of the hazard warning lamps or dimensions (depending on the method of installation of the security complex). The control panel screen displays the active function icon and briefly displays the temperature threshold at which an attempt to start the power unit will be made. The alarm control diode will flash in a series of 3 short flashes to confirm system readiness.

If further use of the function is not intended, you must disable the service. To configure, you will need to enter the adjustment menu, select the active icon using the cursor method, and then press the key marked with a lock with an open shackle. The car will flash the hazard warning lights 2 times, the key fob will play a melody, which confirms that the automatic engine warm-up has been cancelled.

Autorun by timer

Before programming the engine start using a timer, it is necessary to set the repeat time (from the series 2, 3, 4 or 24 hours). The function is configured through the programming menu of the Starline A91 central processing unit. Autorun by timer is activated through the menu; to enter the settings you will need to press and hold the button with the star icon. Then the cursor moves to the icon with a rotating impeller; pressing the button with a closed lock allows you to turn on the function.

The control diode installed in the car goes into operation mode in a series of 2 short signals. The engine starts and warms up, subsequent starts are carried out in accordance with the programmed repeat time. The function is disabled through the on-screen menu; after selecting the active icon, briefly press the key with the open lock. A melodious signal and double alarms confirm that the program has been cancelled.

Auto start on alarm clock

Before activating autorun by alarm, the user must set the current time on the control panel. To adjust, you need to press the button marked with an asterisk and hold it until a melodic signal sounds and a series of 3 short sounds. Once the clock field on the display begins to flash, the user adjusts the value (using the buttons marked with the locked and unlocked padlock icons). To go to setting the minutes, briefly press the asterisk key.

To adjust the alarm clock on the key fob, immediately after setting the clock, briefly press the star button again. To set the on time, the same buttons are used, which should be pressed briefly. Long exposure allows you to set the value in accelerated mode. The user then presses the star button again and adjusts the minutes. To start the alarm, you will need to press the star button again and select the “on” option.

Then you need to press the star key for a long time (until a long and short signal is given). By short pressing the button, you should set the cursor to the alarm function. To confirm the selection, press the button with the closed lock icon. The hazard warning lights will sound, the remote control buzzer will sound 2 short beeps and play a melody. The design of the security complex does not allow the simultaneous use of automatic start by alarm clock and timer.

The active function icon will be highlighted in dark color (together with the active alarm clock icon), and the set auto warm-up start time will be displayed for a few seconds.

The timed autostart function does not require the control key fob to be in the signal reception area. The programmable service is a one-time service; after turning on and warming up the power unit, the mode is turned off. To restart, you will need to make a new adjustment in accordance with the algorithm outlined above.

How to increase autorun time

The user can extend the operation of the power unit only if the control panel is located within the signal receiving distance. To add time, you will need to press the button marked with a locked lock icon for 2-3 seconds, and then briefly press the star key. The control panel buzzer will emit a melodic signal, and the car's warning lights will light up once. Each impact on the keys allows you to increase the warm-up time by 5 minutes; the remaining value is briefly shown on the display.

If the user has set the warm-up, but then decides not to use the car, you can use the function to turn off the engine from a distance. To turn off the engine, you will need to press the button with the open lock symbol for a long time, and then briefly press the button with the star icon. The vehicle's external light alarm will sound 4 times and the power unit will turn off. The control indicators on the remote control display will turn off, indicating that the engine is warming up, and then the buzzer will play a musical melody.

Starline alarm system: auto start from key fob and automatically

The Starline autostart system provides an option for intelligent engine start, when the alarm system independently selects a frequency for communication between the main unit in the car and the key fob.

Thanks to such features, intercepting a security system signal is almost impossible. This is especially important in urban environments and conditions with high levels of radio interference.

Methods for starting a car’s internal combustion engine:

  • remote start (warming up the car before driving);
  • automatic start (periodic starting of the car engine at certain time intervals to maintain the temperature at a given value).

Remote autostart Starline

Before considering how to enable autorun on Starline, you need to pay attention to some features. To correctly configure autorun from the key fob, you must perform the following steps:

  • move the gearbox lever to the “neutral” position (all gears are disabled);
  • turn the key in the ignition and remove it from the lock (the car engine is turned off);
  • close the doors, trunk lid and hood of the car tightly;
  • turn on the parking brake (handbrake).

Fulfilling all these conditions allows you to start the car’s internal combustion engine remotely. Now let's move on to how to enable autostart on the Starline alarm system. First of all, to set the car in security mode with the “Starline autostart” function enabled, you must perform the following algorithm of actions:

  • stop the car moving without turning off the ignition (the car engine is running);
  • move the gear shift lever to the “neutral” position (gears are off);
  • put the car on the handbrake (parking brake on);
  • Press button “1” on the key fob and hold it for 3 seconds until a melodic sound signal appears;
  • turn the key in the ignition switch and remove it from the lock (the car engine does not stall);
  • when leaving the car, make sure that the doors, luggage compartment and hood are closed tightly;
  • if everything is done correctly, the alarm will turn off the engine and lock the car doors (security mode is on).

So, remote autostart on Starline is available with proper preparation of the car. Following the entire algorithm described above, the car can be started from the key fob in different ways:

  • the first method is to press button “1” and hold it for 3 seconds until a sound signal appears and quickly press button “3”;
  • the second method is to select the “START” icon and press button “2” (relevant for periodically warming up the engine in the winter).

Due to the actions taken with the key fob:

  • the alarm makes the first attempt to start the car engine;
  • if the car engine does not start on the first try, the alarm makes a second, third or fourth attempt (the starter operating time increases by 0.2 seconds each time);
  • if the car engine does not start after the fourth attempt, the key fob will sound four beeps;
  • if the engine starts, the “exhaust gases” icon will be displayed on the key fob display (this icon may differ on different Starline models) and the car’s dimensions will blink three times, accompanied by a siren signal;
  • warming up of the vehicle's internal combustion engine will be carried out in accordance with the time interval preset in the settings (5, 10, 15 minutes, etc.);
  • one minute before the end of the specified time period, the “r01” icon will appear on the key fob display. If the time is up, the alarm turns off the engine and the “exhaust gases” icon on the key fob display changes to the “r00” icon.

Autostart Starline by temperature

In the winter season, many motorists need to warm up their car at night. When setting up autostart based on temperature, it is necessary to take into account some points: the presence of a temperature sensor, the location of the sensor, etc.

The sequence of actions for turning on and off automatic start by temperature:

  • Having selected the icon with a thermometer and the inscription “START”, press button “2” on the key fob (after a sound signal, the value of the set temperature threshold is displayed on the display);
  • When you turn off autostart based on temperature, you need to select the thermometer icon on the display and press the “2” button on the key fob.

Once inside the car, you must turn on the ignition within 30 seconds, insert the key into the lock and turn it. To completely exit the autostart mode, you must release the handbrake, while the vehicle's dimensions will blink once, after which a sound signal will sound.

Setting the sensitivity of the shock sensor

The security system includes a sensor that determines the force of the impact on the body. The sensor is used to activate the alarm mode, perceiving a blow as an attempt of unauthorized access to the vehicle interior. The device is mounted inside the vehicle; the operating instructions recommend placing the product open to adjust the sensitivity. There are control diodes on the body that turn on when a blow to the car body is detected.

Vibrations that occur during engine operation are perceived by the sensor as attempts at burglary, which triggers the siren. To adjust the sensitivity, 2 potentiometers are used (warning zone and alarm level), which are rotated with the tip of a screwdriver. The regulator has 10 positions; when shipped from the factory, position 4 or 5 is set. Before starting, you need to reduce the sensitivity of the device by turning the regulators to a minimum.

Then you should start setting the warning level. To adjust, you need to open the car door, activate the security mode, and then turn the adjuster screw clockwise. Sensitivity is determined by light palm strikes applied to the body. Then the user can set the alarm level on Starline (by analogy). After completing the adjustment, it is recommended to set the security system to autostart and check the sensitivity of the sensor when the engine is running and when there are impacts on the body (by tapping the roof panel with your palm).

  3. If the function is activated, the side lights will respond with a flash, and the communicator will respond with a sound signal. A clock icon will appear on the screen and a bell-shaped light will light up.

Programming

The Starline A91 instruction manual contains a description of individually customizable options. The following functions are programmed:

  • duration of door lock control pulses;
  • automatic control of door locks when the ignition is turned on and off;
  • delay in activation of sensors when security is turned on;
  • automatic activation of the security mode;
  • selection of an algorithm for processing signals from an additional sensor;
  • automatic re-activation of the security mode;
  • algorithm and duration of operation of the siren output;
  • light indication of open doors;
  • algorithm for the operation of blocking outputs when the anti-robbery mode is turned on;
  • emergency alarm shutdown algorithm;
  • activation of engine blocking outputs;
  • two-step deactivation of motor blocking.

How to disable the feature

The user can turn off automatic start using the buttons on the control panel. It is impossible to completely disable the function, since the motor operation algorithms are embedded in the software of the central unit. If problems occur with automatic start, it is recommended to force reset the alarm settings and then reprogram the parameters.

The Starline A91 alarm system is in deserved demand among consumers. It operates at an impressive distance, is able to ignore radio interference, and is simple and reliable to operate. Before using this handy anti-theft tool, you need to understand its basic features and functions.

How to turn off the engine

On the Starline A93 system, it is possible to turn off the engine from the key fob by holding the arming button for a long time, after which you should briefly press the key with the circle symbol. The car will flash the external alarm lamps 4 times, and then the engine will stop. The indicators of the operating power unit on the control panel will go out, and a melodic signal will also sound. On the auxiliary remote control, to stop, sequential action is applied to the security control button and the small-sized button located next to it.

To turn off the engine on the Starline A91 model using the key fob, you will need to press the disarm button for a long time, and then briefly press the button with the star icon. After sending signals, similar to the A93 complex, the engine will turn off. An auxiliary remote control without a display does not allow you to turn off the power plant.

Setting the time on the key fob

To set the time on the key fob, you need to press and hold button No. 3 with the image of a snowflake until sound signals follow:

  • one melodic;
  • one short;
  • two more short ones.

Sound signals notify the user that the key fob is ready to adjust the time.

Current time. First, set the “clock” field, which flashes on the display. Each press of button No. 1 with the image of a closed lock increases the time by one hour, and each press of button No. 2 with the image of an open lock decreases it.

When the “hours” field is filled in, proceed to setting the “minutes” field. To do this, briefly press button No. 3 (snowflake) - the “minutes” field begins to blink. Again, use button No. 1 (lock) to increase the time by one minute, and use button No. 2 (open lock) to decrease it.

Alarm. After the minutes are set, press button No. 3 (snowflake) and proceed to setting the alarm clock. When the “alarm clock” field flashes, use button No. 1 to increase the time again, and use button No. 2 to decrease it, if necessary.

The next short press on button No. 3 (snowflake) allows you to turn the alarm on or off. Button No. 1 (lock) turns on the alarm, button No. 2 (open lock) turns it off.

Timer. If you press button No. 3 (snowflake) again, a field for setting the timer will appear on the display. Just like the clock and alarm clock, the timer is set using buttons No. 1 and No. 2.

By pressing button No. 3 again, you can switch to the mode of enabling or disabling the timer. Button No. 1 (lock) turns on the timer, button No. 2 (open lock) turns it off.

5. Remote engine start

With proper preparation of the car, you will be able to remotely start the engine using the Starline A91 key fob. For this purpose, a certain combination of buttons is provided - 1 + 3 in sequence, i.e. we press the first one for a long time, and the third - briefly. This will be followed by a series of events:

  • a short signal will sound;
  • The indication St will appear on the screen for 1 s;
  • then the display will show an icon of the running engine, security mode and remaining time (r10, r20, r30, r99), which is updated every minute.

If the first attempt to autostart the engine is unsuccessful, the system will repeat it three more times. If after the 4th time nothing happens, then the inscription SP will appear on the key fob display. You will be notified of the exhaustion of attempts by 4 sound and light signals.

The system will notify you that the warm-up time is ending. There will be an r01 icon on the key fob screen, and 4 beeps will sound twice. After the remaining engine warm-up time has elapsed and it stops, you will see 4 flashes of dimensions. The display will display r00, and the key fob itself will notify you with 4 beeps. The engine running icon will disappear from the display.

Programming autostart Starline A91

The Starline A91 alarm system allows you to program engine auto-start based on temperature, timer or alarm clock.

Autostart based on engine temperature

Press button No. 3 (snowflake) on the key fob and hold it until you hear first one melodic and then one short signal. Then, also pressing the third button, move the cursor along the icons located at the bottom of the display until it stops at the icon with the image of a thermometer. Press button No. 1 (lock) – a melodic signal sounds. The system is activated. As soon as the temperature drops below the programmed value, the engine will start to warm up.

In order to disable this function, you need to press button No. 3 (snowflake) again and hold it until the second sound (melodic sound, then a single signal). After that, using the same third button, move the cursor to the thermometer icon and press button No. 2 (open lock). The key fob notifies the user with a melodious signal that the function has been disabled.

Autorun by timer

To activate the engine autostart function using a timer every 2, 3, 4 or 24 hours, do the following. Press button No. 3 (snowflake) and hold it until you hear first one melodic and then one short signal. Then, using the same third button, move the cursor along the icons located at the bottom of the display until it stops at the icon with the image of a fan. Press button No. 1 (lock) – a melodic signal sounds. The system is activated.

To disable the autorun function by timer, you need to press button No. 3 (snowflake) and hold it until the second sound (melodic sound, then a single signal). Then, using button No. 3 (snowflake), move the cursor to the fan icon and press button No. 2 (open lock). A melodic signal from the key fob will notify the user that the auto-start function by timer is deactivated.

Auto start on alarm clock

First, you need to make sure that the clock on the key fob is set correctly and the alarm is set at the right time.

To activate the engine auto-start function on an alarm clock, you need to press and hold button No. 3 (star) until the remote control emits three beeps and the corresponding icon appears on the display. The display will show the set alarm start time and then change to the current time. The LED indicator will flash in a series of two flashes.

To turn off the auto-start function on an alarm clock, you need to place the cursor on the icon again and press button No. 2 on the key fob (open lock). After two flashes of size and a melodic signal, the icons will disappear. This function is activated for one startup cycle. To start the engine next time with an alarm, you will need to activate this function again from the key fob.

8. Auto start on alarm clock

Before setting up this automatic start modification, you need to check that your key fob is set to the current time that corresponds to reality. Next, you need to set the alarm for the desired time to turn on the engine and activate this alarm.

After this, all that remains is to select the alarm clock icon using the cursor method and briefly press button 1. The alarm clock indication and an icon in the form of a sound signal will be displayed on the display, indicating auto-start according to the alarm clock you set.

Note! In this way, autorun is enabled only once. If you need the engine to start again on the alarm clock, then you need to repeat these steps, re-activating the corresponding icon on the display.

Setting the sensitivity of the shock sensor

To adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor of the Starline A91 system, you need to perform the following steps:

  • disconnect the battery terminals (as an alternative, remove the fuse that controls the interior lighting);
  • find the location where the shock sensor is attached (as a rule, it is located under the front panel, in the area of the steering column and pedals);
  • disable the security mode, switch to programming mode and use the buttons on the remote control to make the necessary changes.

The sensitivity level has 10 values (0 – minimum, 10 – maximum). Factory settings assume 4-5 levels of protection. When adjusting the alarm sensitivity, you need to take into account the vehicle load level. The operation of the alarm should be considered correct if there are no false alarms.

After setting up the system, you need to wait 2-3 minutes, and then turn the alarm on and off several times to ensure its stable operation.

Autostart. Who does what in winter?

I’ve never done this and don’t do that... all last winter I started it from autostart when needed)... because, it seems to me, in severe frost, even with night warming up, even without, the engine and gearbox will still stiffen) pour normal oil over there so that it doesn’t freeze and everything will be fine!

My alarm gives intervals of 1, 2, 4 hours. and start time 5, 10, 15 minutes.

After minus 20 I don’t use autostart at all, I ran out in the morning, started the car and went to wash up and get dressed

the oil becomes thick, it is advisable to depress the clutch

Well, after all, the oil is special for winter, 5v-40.

I'm talking about the box, but at the moment no one uses autostart at all since the car is idle in the garage

I don’t heat it up at night, I started it in the morning before going out and that’s it.

Eh) +1 now I’ll also press a button from the window)) I’ve been running to start it for two years)))

everyone is so businesslike... they start the engine with a button... and I’ll go out and freshen up. GGyyyy

You put it under the thermal well and that’s it

not everyone has thermal wells in their yards with a free parking space)

For now I limit myself to starting on a timer at 4:00. Barney gets up for the night at about 10 pm. At 9 am we go to work. So, somewhere in the middle I got 4 o’clock in the morning, 15 minutes working at night and that’s it.

In the morning I can turn off the button and get dressed and wash, I used to suffer without autostart for 3 years, now I’m happy as an elephant
