  6. Having completed all these steps, we proceed to one of the main steps - connecting the electric amplifier electronics. Under the dashboard in the “four” there is a special red block, inside of which there is an orange cable. The EUR contact itself must be connected to this wire. The same actions are performed with the gray wire.
  7. Then the power ends are connected. Pink and black wires are connected to the battery, pink to the positive terminal, black to the negative. At this point, the installation process can be considered complete. Check the functionality of the installed system and, if necessary, adjust the device.

Disassembling the steering control

  2. Remove the steering column switches.

  5. Remove the 3 screws securing the amplifier to the panel.
  6. Remove the amplifier.
  7. Disconnect the wire connectors from the EUR terminals.
  8. Use a marker to mark the positions of both the universal joint and the booster shaft.
  9. Unscrew the nut on the universal joint and remove the bolt.
  10. Unscrew the two nuts of the front fastening, and then the rear one, and remove the EUR.

Installation of the electric amplifier is carried out in the reverse order of the above steps.

Typically, a ZF brand pump is installed on the VAZ 2110 power steering, which is also used on the Audi A6, Volkswagen and other cars. But this pump model is not dismountable and there are no retaining rings or covers on it. This does not mean that it is impossible to restore the operation of such a pump. Below are instructions for removing and disassembling the power steering pump:

  • Remove the clamp;
  • Disconnect the return hose (do it carefully so as not to spill oil);
  • Disconnect the connector;
  • Remove the DJ (sensor) from the fitting bolt.
  • We disconnect the discharge tube, first removing the union bolt;
  • Remove the power steering drive belt;

The electric power steering control unit takes a signal from the speed and crankshaft speed sensors. Connection to the vehicle electrical systems is carried out as follows:

  1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
  2. Locate the spare sockets in the fuse box. You need to connect the device through them. Find the reserve wire in the harness, connect the power supply to the electric power steering unit.
  3. If it is not possible to use backup sockets, then you need to power the electric amplifier from the ignition switch through a fuse. So that when the ignition is turned off, the electric drive does not work.
  4. The negative power wire must be connected to the car body.

At this point, the connection of the power section can be considered complete. Connecting controls is done as follows:

  1. The speed sensor must be connected to the right chip.
  2. The wire coming from the tachometer must be connected to the left chip.
  3. Install both chips on the electric power steering.

This completes the connection. You can install electric power steering on a VAZ-2114 with your own hands without any problems. But it’s better to do all this at a service station so that the technicians can issue you a document confirming the correct installation of the equipment. Replacement

This technology is as important as pouring oil into the box of a VAZ 2109, which can be done independently or at a service station. An oil change must be done immediately after purchasing a used car.   3. By placing a drain container under the bottom of the machine, you can unscrew the drain plug. The oil will flow immediately, so it is better to wear gloves on your hands.
  4. At the end of the drain, which will take about 10-15 minutes, the plug is installed in place.
  5. The oil filter is unscrewed and a new one is installed. First you need to pour about 200 ml of liquid into it and the sealing gum is treated with lubricant.
  6. New oil is added. It will take about three liters.
  7. After filling, you need to check the fluid level. If it is not enough, it is necessary to gradually add lubricant, constantly monitoring its volume using a dipstick.
  8. At the end, you need to close the lid and turn on the engine for a few minutes, letting it idle.

Functionality check

After you have connected all the elements of the system, you need to install the steering wheel and check the functionality of the mechanism. If you are satisfied with the work, then you need to assemble all the elements in the reverse order. After this, start the engine and try turning the steering wheel at low speed.
