  5. The next step is removing the door opening mechanism trim. To do this, you need to carefully pry off the cladding using a flat-head screwdriver and remove the element.
  6. There are locking mechanisms on top of the doors. Plastic pins. They have a hole where a Phillips screwdriver fits perfectly. The stoppers are removed by simply unscrewing them with a screwdriver.
  7. There are probably speakers on the front doors. To remove them, simply unscrew the mounting bolts. If these are not standard speakers, the dismantling procedure may be slightly different.
  8. Carefully remove the speakers from the casing and disconnect the wiring. Do not pull anything sharply until you are sure that all wiring is disconnected.
  9. Remove the plastic lever that adjusts the side mirrors and get rid of the decorative moldings.
  10. Now you can remove the casing itself. It is held in place by plastic pistons, which are inserted directly into the metal part of the doors.
  11. Using a flat-head screwdriver, pry up the trim, smoothly detaching the material from the surface.
  12. Don't be afraid to break the caps as they are consumables. New ones will cost a small amount of money.

5) In the upper part, unscrew the locking “latch”; it simply unscrews like a bolt.

6) Everything is removed, now we need to detach the upholstery itself, this is a little more complicated. You can pull the corners, or you can pick it up with a screwdriver and pull it towards you - the main thing is not to break it, we carefully try to separate it. Preparing a new canvas

Usually the skin is removed if the panel is deformed or if there is a desire to replace the panel. If the car has been in an accident, the panel part can be replaced with a piece of plywood. The main thing is to take accurate measurements and cut to the exact shape. The same goes for the material. It is purchased in advance, marked and cut out. Its total size is equal to the diameter of the panel, only 2-3 cm is left at the edges for hemming. In addition to the basic set of tools you will need:

  1. To install new sheathing, you will need an adhesive so that the material fits tightly onto the main part.
  2. For internal fastening, you need a construction stapler with staples or hardware. In the latter case, you still need a drill to drill holes.
  3. Additional clips are purchased in advance. When disassembling the door, these fasteners periodically break.

Drivers are offered a variety of materials: leather, substitute, leatherette, auto fabric, Alcantra, carpet. Any of them is suitable for covering. After the old cladding has been separated from the panel and a new piece of fabric has been prepared, all that remains is to secure the material. Stages:

  1. The plywood is coated with glue.
  2. The fabric is stretched.
  3. The folds are straightened out.

At the back of the card, along the edges, we turn two blocks to give rigidity to the cards, otherwise they will turn out to be “banana-shaped”.

It is worth noting that if they were not installed at the factory, the latches may be non-standard. Having pulled out the speakers, you need to disconnect the wires leading to them. You shouldn't pull them sharply, as they are quite thin and tear easily.

After this, remove the lever that moves the side mirrors. Then you can remove the decorative moldings as well. Only after this will it be possible to remove the old cladding material. It is held in place by plastic caps. They are attached directly to the metal of the doors. The casing is pryed off with a knife or screwdriver, after which it is detached from the base. There is no need to worry about breaking the caps - they cost mere pennies and are sold everywhere.

There is no point in replacing Euro screws with self-tapping screws in the future if they reliably fix the upholstery. On average, one door takes about half an hour. If you have minimal experience, you will have to spend significantly more.

About the tool

What we need are screwdrivers, preferably one Phillips and the other straight. Also buy “pistons” for trim, they are universal and suitable for the entire VAZ family. Many people also call them “Christmas trees.”

Removing the rear trim

There is no point in repeating the main points; they are almost identical.

The handle is also disassembled and the plug and the upper locking “latch” are removed. But there are no shelves or speakers here.

There is also no power window, that is, there is no wiring that needs to be disconnected. But here there is a regular window handle, as people call it – “oars” or a “muscle power” drive. In order to disassemble it, you need to bend it slightly towards yourself with a screwdriver - pull out the lower locking ring. After which the handle will simply come off on its own.

We repeat the same procedure with the upholstery as on the front door, just gently pull. Remember about rivets.

What else I would like to note is that if you read the instructions, it recommends completely changing the rivets every time you remove the upholstery - they simply lose their characteristics, the antennae fall off, if my memory serves me correctly, there are 8 of them on each upholstery. This threatens to cause rattling on bumps and uneven roads.

A little advice from me

Guys, if they were just disassembling it about repairing a window regulator or installing speakers. My advice to you is that you can improve the design a little, namely, reduce its airflow. I advise you to read this article.

If you are not ready for such insulation, then you should apply ordinary thick cellophane to the metal, 0.3 mm is enough. We directly cut out the door according to the stencil and glue it to the metal (you can use double tape), after making holes for the handles and bolts. I have seen this on many foreign cars, they have it as a must!

What does this give us:

1) The door will not blow out as quickly during the cold period, which will give us a little more heat. The interior will warm up faster.

2) There will still be fewer crickets, because this layer will not allow plastic and metal to interact directly.

The drainage holes of the seal and the car body must match, otherwise water, if it gets on the glass, will end up in the car interior. The new seal should be well lubricated, for example with sealant or silicone, which will simplify the installation of the new glass. The procedure for removing and installing the front door trim on the VAZ 2114 and 2115

First, open the car door and use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the three screws securing the lower podium (pocket).

After this, carefully move it down and disconnect it from the upholstery body, as shown in the photo below.

We turn it over with the outer side facing us and see the plug for connecting to the power window control buttons.

Using a thin screwdriver or the sharp edge of a knife, press the latch through a special hole and pull the block, thereby disconnecting it.

Now unscrew the screws securing the front speakers, if they are installed on your car.

Glass replacement

It is better to buy glass and a glass holder as a set for replacement.

To replace, you need an extension, a wrench, an 8 and 10 mm socket and an assistant.

The side glass is blocked with a screwdriver to prevent it from falling out. The door trim is removed. A felt-tip pen marks the places where the glass frame is attached to the door on the frame and on the door. The bolts securing the glass frame to the window regulator are turned out.

The window regulator bar must be fully raised. The cable on the roller from the bottom of the glass is dismantled. Then the seals (velvet covers) are carefully removed.

The operation of the window regulator is checked and, if necessary, the cable tension and the position of the seals are changed.

Stage 5. Putty, primer and painting

Here we are already approaching the finish line. We take fiberglass putty and a rubber spatula and apply a small layer to the surface of the card. Once dry, I used a screwdriver attachment with sanding discs. I took 3 types of sandpaper, 100,400 and 1000.

After drying, you can prime them.

I took regular primer in cans and a spray gun. The only difference is the painting time.

After the primer came black paint as a base and white splashes from the brush.

And here is the final result. Very satisfied. They turned out quite tough and not too heavy.

  • press the tongue mechanically or pull the cable and the hood opens;
  • We approach the battery and knock down the negative terminal, and click it several times on the mount. The car body, which is a minus, is a large consumer and turning it on abruptly will create a small soft drop. It’s better not to touch the right one, because you can burn the ECU.

3. Open the door with wire. The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • we find a stiff wire and an analogue of a woman’s nail file and get to work;
  • use a thin object to pry out the glass seal near the lock;
  • we insert the pre-bent wire into the prepared hole and lower it until it rests;
  • the wire rests against the lock latch, so we turn it and turn it until it goes around it, when it “falls through” we pry it back;
  • The opening procedure will take 2-5 minutes, and the door will be open; all that remains is to hammer the seal back.

4. Open with your phone. The most interesting, and most importantly effective method of how to open the door on a VAZ 2114. It is simple and amazing:

  • you need to remember who has the second keys and call this person;
  • bring the phone closer to the keyhole;
  • the interlocutor at the other end presses the open button and the machine is open.

Car door won't open

Many car owners are faced with various malfunctions of the door locks in their cars. Some of these problems result in the door being unable to be opened under certain conditions. Let's consider what to do in such situations.

The key in the car lock does not turn

If the key is inserted into the keyhole but does not turn, then the lock cylinder is faulty. The cylinder is a cylinder with a set of spring-loaded elements that must be sunk with a key in a certain combination. If at least one element is not in the desired position, it will be impossible to rotate the cylinder. The larva may stop working more often due to external influences, for example, after an attempt to open the lock not with a key, but with some other object.

It's another matter if the lock on the car door does not open in winter. Then the fact that the key does not turn in the lock may be due to ordinary ice - the cylinder is frozen. This is especially true after washing or during a thaw - water flows into the lock and freezes, blocking the larva. Accordingly, there are only two ways to solve the problem:

— If the larva is frozen, it can be activated with a special lock defroster, which is sold at any auto store

But, if you don’t have such a composition on hand, you can splash warm water on the keyhole or gently heat it with a lighter. The main thing is to be able to melt the ice inside the castle and then the larva will gain freedom

— If it’s warm outside, but the key won’t turn, most likely the lock cylinder will have to be changed. Open another car door with the key or use the central locking to get into the car and contact service. Or change the lock cylinder yourself.

The key turns, but the car door lock does not unlock

The next situation is when the key rotates normally, but the lock does not unlock. This means only one thing - the rod that connects the cylinder to the locking lever has flown off or broken off. A special case is a bend in the rod or a violation of its adjustment. However, such malfunctions do not just happen. In order for the rod to bend, it needs to be influenced, for example, so that a blow occurs on the door during an accident. The adjustment usually gets lost when the lock is repaired or the outer door handle is removed.

If nothing like this happened to your car in the near future, it means the traction has simply lost. You need to get into the car by unlocking the door through the central locking or through another door, disassemble the faulty door and restore traction.

The car door won't unlock from the inside or outside

The problem is the same as the previous one, that is, the problem is torn or broken rods. Accordingly, you need to find a break in the linkage from the desired handle and restore it.

The same should be done if the door does not lock from the inside.
