Methods for resetting the service interval
Skoda Yeti cars can be equipped with a standard on-board computer or a computer with a multifunction display. In the second case, to reset you will need to use the multifunction steering wheel buttons or the keys on the windshield wiper control lever.
With a standard on-board computer, you can use the Set and 0.0 buttons.
On Skoda Yeti cars that were produced after 2013, there is a clock button on the right side of the dashboard. And on the left there is a reset button.
To reset the service interval on a Skoda Yeti, you need to perform the following operations:
- turn off the ignition by turning the key to the zero position and pulling it out of the lock;
- hold down the button designed to reset the interval;
- hold down the button for 5 seconds;
- turn the key in the ignition;
- only then release the key;
- if the message does not appear on the on-board computer screen, press the clock setting button;
- the program will ask you whether you need to reset the data and remove the old counter;
- turn the wheel on the steering wheel on the right side until the answer is “Yes”;
- click on the button in the center;
- after this, the service interval should be reset;
- turn off the ignition and immediately turn it back on;
- When the ignition is turned on, the Service Oil message should disappear.
As for the service indicator or inspection interval, resetting it on Skoda Yeti cars is carried out according to a similar scheme. The only difference is that you will need to use the hazard alarm.
The hazard warning light on the machine turns on before all the operations described above are completed. After this, the counter is reset.
There is an alternative option on how to reset the service interval that appears on the screen on the Skoda Yeti.
This option is relevant for those versions where a multifunction display is provided. Interestingly, the same method is used on Skoda Superb and Skoda Rapid cars.
For this method, you should use the buttons located on the steering column switch. This is the right lever responsible for the windshield wipers.
The instructions in this case look like this:
- Turn the key in the ignition until the instrument panel lights come on. But you don't need to start the engine itself.
- Using the button on the steering column switch, enter the Settings menu on the multifunction display of the on-board computer.
- To navigate between different menu items, use the button at the end of the steering column lever. It is conditionally divided into 2 parts. In fact, these are up and down arrows.
- Having selected the “Settings” item, press the lower left key, which will allow you to enter the “Settings” menu.
- A submenu will appear in front of you. In it, find the “Service” section.
- There is another sub-item called “Reset”.
- Click on the bottom switch on the left side (Reset).
- Click reset again to clear the memory.
- Turn off the ignition.
Immediately after this, start the ignition again and check whether the service notification from the on-board computer screen has really disappeared.
This method may not work on some versions.
Then use the alternative instructions. To do this you need:
- press and hold the reset button on the right side of the dashboard, near the speedometer well (0.0);
- a menu should open;
- it happens that the menu does not open, and then additionally click on the clock setting key on the left side of the dashboard;
- if the menu appears, press the right button again;
- hold until you see Setup on the multifunction display screen;
- briefly press the clock button once;
- repeat the previous procedure as for calling the Setup message;
- but now the inscription Service should appear;
- Press the right button again until the Reset menu appears;
- click on the left button;
- turn off the ignition.
In the case of Skoda Yeti cars, the situation is really difficult. Different versions, different reset methods.
The most correct solution to reset the current service interval and restart the mileage counter until the next maintenance on the Skoda Yeti crossover is to look at the instruction manual specifically for your modification.
The manufacturer will provide the necessary tips, and you will be able to resolve the issue without involving specialists.
In any case, one of the presented methods for resetting the service interval will definitely suit you. Decide on the version of your crossover, see if you have a multifunction display, how the buttons are presented on the dashboard, and get to work.
Service warning
The color of the indicator/symbol usually indicates how urgent or dangerous the problem is. Blue and green simply indicate that the light is active, yellow indicates a minor fault or something that requires attention soon, and red, or especially flashing red, indicates a fault that requires immediate attention.
Here are the main warning lights, symbols, meanings and corresponding actions for the first generation Fabia 1999-2007, second generation 2007-2013 (2014) and third generation 2015 to date - MPI, TSI and TDI versions.
Wrench icon
Appears on the MAXI DOT instrument panel/display when vehicle service or inspection is required. If you service your Fabia yourself, or if you've already had it serviced at a dealership but forgot to reset the service interval reminder, read on to learn how to reset the reminder.
Danger and attention symbols (red and yellow exclamation marks)
New Skoda Fabia models use warning triangles with an exclamation point to indicate certain other warning signals. If the warning light comes on and is accompanied by a red triangle, this indicates danger. Immediate action is required here. This may be hazardous to the safety of passengers and/or may result in damage to the vehicle. A yellow triangle indicates a warning and requires attention as soon as possible.
Transmission fault indicator (red)
A gear with a red exclamation mark indicates a gearbox/transmission fault and is only displayed on the MAXI DOT display. If the icon is highlighted with a red danger triangle, you may encounter one of two warnings:

How to remove service on a Skoda Octavia A5: let’s look at the question
In modern times, most cars undergo an annual technical inspection, which is carried out every 15,000 km. For Skoda Octavia A5 cars without an on-board computer, such messages are welcomed by an audio option in the cabin. At the same time, a wrench icon and the English inscription SERVICE appear on the display. The interval for the next technical inspection cannot be set manually, so this feature is the main drawback of the functionality of the Skoda interior.
You can avoid this situation in a very simple way - reset the service on the Octavia A5. The VAG system counter with the next maintenance can be reset manually. To do this, turn off the ignition. Press the TRIP button on the panel until the SERVIS light goes off. After that, turn on the ignition and turn to the right and left until 15,000 km appears. There is no need to do anything further; the counter will automatically go to zero when moving.
How to reset the inspection service on Superb 3
To reset the “Inspection Control” maintenance interval for the Skoda SuperB III, you must:
- Turn on the emergency lights and hold down the “0.0/SET” button, then turn the ignition key to the first position.
- As soon as the notification about resetting the “Inspection Service” appears, use the “OK” button on the steering column switch (press it) to give an affirmative answer about the reset.
To check the success of the work performed, go to the settings, select the “Maintenance” category in the menu. It will be displayed that the indicators are 0; the next reset is recommended after 365 days / 15,000 km.
It is important to note that resetting the service on previous generations of the 1st generation Skoda SuperB is slightly different due to the location of the buttons on the panel

How to reset the service interval
The appearance of a signal about the need for maintenance is a common problem that almost every motorist has encountered. In this case, the display may flash and the device may make annoying beeps. In service centers, when resetting, they make an entry in the service book and stick a sticker indicating the date of the next maintenance. Manufacturers do not recommend resetting the data yourself, as the indicator settings may be lost. But most often, no malfunctions in the operation of the vehicle systems are observed.
Typically, a service notification appears after approximately 15,000 kilometers or 372 days. But most drivers perform maintenance much more often, approximately every 5-7 thousand kilometers. After changing the oil and filters yourself, the message “Service” appears. After all, the system cannot recognize that the fluid has already been replaced. You can remove this inscription yourself without overpaying at a car service center. It is possible to reset the recorded information if the “Service” indicator lights up on the screen.

Resetting the Rapid oil change service indicator
There are several options for resetting values, depending on the presence of Maxidot on the instrument panel.
Maxidot (Maxidot) is a type of on-board computer. Located in the center of the dashboard between the tachometer and speedometer. To quickly determine its presence or absence, see if the car icon is displayed (see picture); if so, it is there. Otherwise, you have a regular on-board computer.

Replacement procedure
If you decide to change the engine oil on a Skoda Fabia car yourself, follow the official regulations and do not forget about safety measures. By following step by step, you can easily change the lubricant in the engine with your own hands and save a lot on car service costs.
- To drain old engine oil, first place the car in a pit, put chocks under the wheels, remove the negative terminal from the battery and apply the handbrake. This will immobilize and de-energize the car, which will prevent unwanted incidents.
- Warm up the engine slightly to operating temperature. This will allow the oil to drain from the engine faster and in greater volume.
- Remove the filler plug, which is located in the engine compartment. Then crawl under the car and look for the drain plug. Unscrew it carefully and gradually, after placing an empty container under it to drain the liquid. Be careful as the oil is hot and can cause severe burns if it comes into contact with your skin.
- After unscrewing the plug, place it aside. It cannot be reused as it is disposable. But you will need to buy a similar device in the store so that you have something to tighten the crankcase with.
- Wait until all the engine lubricant fluid has drained out. This will take about 10 – 20 minutes. At the same time, change the oil filter. We’ll talk about it separately, since it has its own nuances.
- Start adding fresh engine oil. Tighten the plugs and start the engine. To install a new drain plug, it is better to use a torque wrench, since the regulations require it to be tightened with a force of 30 Nm. While the car is idling, check the condition of the filter and drain plug, make sure that no lubricant is leaking from there and that everything is secured properly. Wait for the warning light with the image of an oil can to go out on the dashboard.
- Turn off the engine when the light goes out. Using the dipstick, recheck the level. It is considered correct if a trace of oil is between o and “Max”. If it is lower, add a little lubricant, restart the engine, watch the dashboard lamp and take the dipstick again to check.
The procedure is standard and does not involve particularly difficult moments. But questions arise regarding changing the oil filter on the Skoda Fabia.
Oil filter
To change this element of the engine lubrication system, you will need a special oil filter puller wrench. Or take a 32mm wrench. Although it is much more convenient to work with pullers. The procedure for replacing the device is slightly different depending on what type of filter is installed on the machine:
- with replaceable filter;
- with replaceable filter element.
If the entire filter needs to be replaced, then it is changed according to the following instructions:
- Place an empty container under the filter and unscrew it slightly.
- Manually unscrew the part all the way and be careful not to get hot oil on your hand.
- Use a rag to wipe the filter housing. If there are traces of the old rubber seal, be sure to remove them.
- Apply a little fresh oil to the rubber gasket and install it in place.
- The part is screwed in manually; there is no need to apply excessive force.
The work is done somewhat differently if the housing does not need to be changed, and in the filter it is enough to change only the filter element.
Here follow these instructions:
- remove the filter as in the previous case;
- remove the filter element and seal from the part body;
- replace them with replaceable consumables;
- screw on the filter cap;
- the part is tightened with a torque wrench, applying a force of 25 Nm.
At this point the work is completed. Just keep in mind that such a procedure allows you to partially replace the engine lubricant, since often the old fluid still remains in the engine system. If you want to fully change your engine oil without resorting to the help of specialists, then do a comprehensive cleaning.
Reset Skoda Yeti - Do-it-yourself car repair
Timely maintenance of the Skoda Yeti will not only ensure the maximum service life of your car, but will also make this process as safe and comfortable as possible. Maintenance is carried out in accordance with the regulations. It is very important to carry out this work on time, otherwise it may lead to undesirable consequences.
What is the maintenance of a Skoda Yeti car and when is it carried out?
Skoda service is carried out in accordance with the regulations provided by the manufacturer. Communication with the on-board computer is carried out through the diagnostic connector.
At the end of each type of Skoda Yeti service, the service counter is reset. This is necessary in order to track the remaining mileage until the next maintenance. Resetting the counter yourself before exceeding the maintenance will lead to violation of the rules and failure of the Skoda Yeti.
TO-1
It must be said that any type of repair work includes a list of operations performed in accordance with TO-1. That is, work on TO-1 is included in all other TOs.
THIS IS INTERESTING: How to change pads on a Kia Rio
The engine oil and filter need to be replaced. When changing engine oil, the filter must be changed without fail. Therefore, in the future, when it comes to the need to change the engine oil, this will also mean replacing the filter device. It is very important to change the engine oil during the first maintenance, since running in new parts leads to severe contamination of it with wear products. The fuel filter cannot be replaced.
you need to check the following points:
- tire pressure and tread depth.
- cabin filter element;
- engine air filter (clean the housing if necessary);
- brake pads;
- spark plugs (clean if necessary);
Particular attention should be paid to the brake pads, since the effectiveness of the braking system and, as a consequence, the active safety of the Skoda Yeti directly depend on their condition. The pressure in all tires must be the same.
The pressure difference has a negative effect on handling. High pressure reduces the tire's cushioning efficiency, while low pressure causes the tread to wear out quickly.
Poor spark plugs will reduce engine power, and a dirty cabin filter element will impair the performance of the heater. I don't change the fuel filter.
Upon request, visual inspection of fasteners, airbags, paint and anti-corrosion coatings, and cleaning of gutters (if necessary) is possible. You can check the condition of the battery, engine leaks and brake fluid level. Using the diagnostic connector, you can scan the condition of the electronics. This will require special equipment. It is made under the steering column and located above the driver's left foot.
TO-2
This type of service involves creating the same list of works, but with some changes and additions. Recommended inspection and cleaning operations for Service-1 are mandatory for Service-2. It is also mandatory to check for errors in the electronic system through the diagnostic connector. To be replaced:
- cabin filter.
- engine oil;
To ensure excellent handling of your Skoda, as well as minimize tire wear, it is recommended to have your wheel alignment balanced and adjusted. Even if you haven't replaced your wheels, tire wear and slight deformation of the rim caused by shock loads will contribute to the imbalance.
Upon request the following can be performed:
- checking the condition of lighting and lighting fixtures.
- checking the antifreeze level (add fluid if necessary);
- visual inspection of components and parts located in the engine compartment;
- visual inspection of transmission elements for damage and leaks;
- checking the tension of the drive belts (adjustment if necessary);
- visual inspection of the exhaust system for damage;
- checking the functionality of the windshield and headlight systems (if necessary, adding cleaning fluid);
- monitoring the condition of the steering, tie rod ends;
TO-3
Fully complies with TO-1, with one exception: replacing the windshield wiper blades is also recommended. The engine oil is changed in the same way as TO-1. Checking the electronics fault history via the diagnostic connector is optional. I don't change the fuel filter.
We reset the “Service” inscription on Skoda - Octavia Tour (A5) (A7) and Fabia cars
All Skoda cars have a so-called maintenance interval, which signals the owner about the need for vehicle maintenance, especially changing the engine oil.
Many motorists drive used Skodas or do not contact service centers to have their models repaired.
There is also a problem with resetting this service interval as it first tells you the number of kilometers left until service and after the countdown simply displays the word "Service" (in Octavia Tour) or other commands on different models.
To restore this signal command, an oil change will not be enough; several simple manipulations must be performed. Our instructions are shown using the Skoda Octavia Tour as an example and at the end you can see several videos showing how to restore the “Service” inscription on other Skoda models.
The procedure for restoring “service” on Octavia Tour:
- We sit behind the wheel and insert the key into the ignition, but do not turn it on;
- Press the right button to reset the daily mileage, hold it and turn on the ignition;
- After turning on the ignition, do not release the button until the word “service” lights up (usually one or two seconds), then press the button;
- Then go to the left button to set the clock (as shown in the photo) and turn it to the right (clockwise).
- The maintenance interval has been reset;
- We turn off the ignition, turn it on again and see that the annoying letter no longer appears until the next end of the interval programmed into the on-board computer.
Here are all the manipulations that allow you to independently restore service on your Skoda Octavia Tour. Similar simple steps are performed on other models, for example on the Octavia A5 or A7, on Fabia and so on. You can find it in the videos attached below, some are in foreign languages, but you can understand them just by looking at the manipulations.
Skoda Fabia second generation: for the people
The Skoda Fabia body with double-sided galvanization confidently resists our reagent winters.
And the rust that appears will tell you about the accident that once happened and cheap body repairs. The interior cannot boast of such durability. The first to start making sounds are the rear headrests and the trunk shelf. And in the second year of operation, “crickets” appear in the cabin one after another. First, the covers of the passenger airbag or the upper glove compartment begin to rattle, then the windshield defogger panel makes itself known.
11 Fabia-selected_zr 01_15
You should not pay attention to the worn-out steering wheel rim - it will be “polished” after two or three years. But take a closer look at the operation of the heating system. The calling card of the stove motor is a slight hum at first speed, which occurs due to rapid wear of the bearings. You can dismantle the assembly and lubricate the bearings, but this will not help for long. You cannot replace the bearings, so you will have to fork out for a new motor (8,900 rubles). And if at one point the heater starts working only at maximum speed, prepare 1,100 rubles for a new motor resistor.
If the Fabia is equipped with Climatronic climate control, when purchasing, be sure to check its serviceability, namely, whether the temperature is regulated and whether the flows are redistributed. Even in three-year-old cars, the dampers become sour, and then the stove blows lukewarm instead of hot. And in cars older than five years, sometimes the climate control control unit also dies. You will have to restore the burnt-out board or buy a new unit (22,000 rubles).
Be sure to check the functionality of all power windows.
12 Fabia-selected_zr 01_15
It happens that a cable of wires breaks in the place between the driver's door and the pillar - and the power window unit becomes a decoration. For the same reason, servos and heated exterior mirrors may not work.
Don't be surprised if the central locking of a five or six year old car does not respond to the key. Replacing the battery will not help, and you will have to replace the key itself. In cars of this age, plastic parts of the trunk lock often break (3,800 rubles). Another weak point of the fifth door (only on station wagons) is the bursting additional brake light (2,000 rubles).
The instrument panel can also be a problem. The most common malfunctions are dimmed scales or the display of the trip computer. If after resetting the battery terminals the devices do not come to life, run to a competent electrician, otherwise you will have to fork out for a new shield (18,000 rubles). If the outside temperature readings do not correspond to reality, check the temperature sensor located behind the front bumper - it is exposed to all winds, quickly becomes covered with dirt and therefore lies.
03 Fabia-selected_zr 01_15
The fuel pump is reliable, but does not tolerate frequent trips with the fuel reserve light on. In order not to pay 8,400 rubles for the original unit, craftsmen adapt the unit from the VAZ Priora. The same is done with the brush assembly of the generator: after a little mechanical processing, domestic brushes stand up like original ones. Otherwise, the generator (32,000 rubles) rarely requires attention before 150,000 kilometers.
DRIVING FORCE
The range of engines in German (who is the boss!) is rich. There are seven petrol and five diesel engines to choose from. The list opens with three-cylinder six- and twelve-valve naturally aspirated CGPA, BZG and BBM series with a volume of 1.2 liters (28% of cars on the Russian market). Fans of windy driving are unlikely to like such a unit, but its reliability is in perfect order. The weakest link is the ignition coils (1,800 rubles each), which often require replacement after 30,000 kilometers. Moreover, the coil of the second cylinder is especially vulnerable. Cars in large cities primarily suffer from this disease. Frequent hang-ups in traffic jams lead to rapid clogging of spark plugs and misfires. And every 45,000-50,000 kilometers you need to flush the throttle valve.
When inspecting the car, be sure to check the cleanliness of the engine. Oil leaks at the junction of the front cover and the cylinder block are common. The timing chain (3,600 rubles) lasts an average of 150,000 kilometers, and it is better to change it at the same time as the sprockets (1,100 rubles each). The cylinder block can easily take care of up to 250,000 kilometers, which is very good for such a volume.
