Fuses and relays Nissan X-Trail (T31), 2007 - 2015

Nissan X Trail
T31 is a compact crossover that was produced in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. During this time, the model underwent restyling. In this article you will find information describing the fuse and relay blocks of the Nissan X Trail T31, as well as their photographs and diagrams. We will separately highlight the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter.

Please note that the number of fuses and relays, as well as the block diagrams, may differ from this material and depend on the electrical equipment, year of manufacture and country of delivery of the vehicle. Check the current purpose of the circuit elements with your description on the back of the protective cover of the unit.

Recommendations for servicing Nissan X-Trail T31 fuses

  • Systematically carry out a technical inspection of the car, replace faulty elements with new ones;
  • Check the integrity of the insulating layer of the wiring, avoid damage, cracks, and breaks;
  • After active driving through puddles or in the rain, check the mounting block, remove moisture if necessary, wipe with a rag;
  • Purchase spare parts and consumables mainly from certified points of sale, official representative offices, and dealers;
  • Check the integrity of the fuses with special equipment - a multimeter.

The average service life of protection modules, relay switches on Nissan X-Trail (T31) is 50 thousand km.

Blocks under the hood

In the second generation Nissan X-Trail T31, next to the battery there are 2 fuse blocks. To access them, you need to remove the air duct pipe.

Correct procedure for replacing fuses

Before replacing a failed X-Trail T31 fuse, you should make sure that it is faulty.

To do this you will need to do the following:

  1. Identify the X-Trail T31 mounting block, from which electrical equipment that has failed to function consumes electricity.
  2. Using the list of non-working devices, determine the faulty protective element.
  3. Remove the fuse from its socket and inspect it .
  4. The presence of obvious damage indicates a malfunction of the element.

Replacing an element with a damaged fuse link:

  1. The cause of the malfunction is and eliminated.
  2. Further standard size is selected fuse (mini, medium or large), according to the required rated current.

  3. The old one is removed and protective element is inserted
  4. The functioning of electrical appliances is checked.

What is it and what are they for?

Fuses are special devices that protect the consumer of electricity and, in fact, electrical circuits from system overloads and short circuits.

Most often they are combined into a fuse block; there may be several such blocks in a car. It consists of elements such as fuse links, a special connecting terminal, an electrical circuit and an insulating housing. It can also contain quartz sand, which helps protect the system from overheating.

They are used by the system to protect it from fires that may occur in the event of sudden surges in current levels. Thus, the fuse burns out first, thereby giving a signal and preventing the main part from burning out. In most cases, fuses are disposable.

    Damn it. I have right hand drive. I've looked all over and there's no cigarette lighter.

    Maybe the year of manufacture has something to do with it?

    Do you have any idea regarding my question?

    What an idea, check the fuses first. Apparently the recorder has a short somewhere

    somehow illogical. ok - shorted the video reg. The cigarette lighter and the socket in the glove compartment were damaged. But I didn’t plug it into the outlet in the trunk, but it doesn’t work either. and according to the electrical diagram = there are three independent circuits with fuses independent of each other.

    error. The front and rear sockets are on the same fuse. Number 23. at 15A.

    OK. Let's start small - check the fuses. I think there is a problem with the video recorder plug.

    error. The front and rear sockets are on the same fuse. Number 23. at 15A.

    OK. Let's start small - check the fuses. I think there is a problem with the video recorder plug.

    The same crap happened today, the thin partition between the contacts in the charger of the recorder (which is far from cheap) broke, as a result the charger shorted and knocked out the sockets in the glove compartment and trunk. I changed fuse No. 23, although for now it’s 10A, don’t forget to buy a suitable one tomorrow.

    My problem was solved by replacing the fuses. The recorder's instructions say 12V power supply. on the video reg itself 5V. I ride with a 5V power cable from the radar. it's okay for now. Apparently the power cord of the video registrator's native one was damaged.

    Apparently the drunken Chinese don't assemble the cord well, and it shorts inside...

    Here's another bad luck (((The cartridge has failed:

    On mine, the fixing groove is located 8 mm from the cut. They are available in stores, but in all the ones I looked at, the locking groove is located much further from the cut. Has anyone managed to find a suitable magazine cartridge? Or now this is a cool exclusive.

    Yes, you can take it with a different groove, the whole difference is that when it heats up and shoots, it will pop out not much further, or a turn closer, it all depends on where the groove is.

    Yeah thanks! I didn’t understand it right away, it’s a very complicated mechanic :)

    Or maybe this is a sign from above - stop smoking)))))?

    Well, I can’t drive a faulty car :)

    That's for sure! It's worse without a cigarette lighter))

    Well, who knows))) I don’t have it at all..

    You're unlucky, you lost 20 mares)))

    Not a cigarette lighter, it's like KERS on the formula)

How is the fuel filter replaced on a Nissan Xtrail T31?

Good fuel is essential to prolong the life of the fuel filter. Unfortunately, the quality of fuel provided by even the largest gas station chains requires filtration

When replacing the filter, it is easy to see what remains in the gas tank. If you see a cloudy brown slurry (not plaque on the walls), change your gas station network. Or, if changing the company does not work, reduce the interval between changing filters.

Accordingly, the Nissan X-Trail T31 fuel filter will have to be changed on average once every six months. Technically, replacing the Nissan X-Trail T31 fuel filter is a simple but messy procedure.

  1. New filter;
  2. Rags;
  3. Screwdriver set, flat narrow screwdriver;
  4. A chisel or something like that;
  5. Hammer or mallet;
  6. Carburetor cleaner or equivalent - clean the coarse filter (mesh);
  7. Litol or other lubricant;
  8. An hour of time.

DO NOT SMOKE AND/OR DO NOT CARRY OUT WORK TO REPLACE THE PETROL FILTER NEAR AN OPEN FIRE! Work must be carried out with the engine cooled down (3 hours)!
