Nissan Almera N16 fuses

The standard arrangement of fuses in the Nissan Almera N16 car is different from previous modifications. Engineers preinstalled three blocks with fuses and one mounting block with relay switches. Location:

  • In the cabin, to the left of the steering wheel;
  • In the engine compartment, to the right of the battery;
  • Near the expansion tank of the cooling system.

In order to simplify the fuse identification process, a diagram, markings, and pinouts are printed on the back of the housing cover.

The process of replacing modules on a Nissan Almera H16 car is not difficult, the task can be done by a car enthusiast, but be extremely careful and do not make mistakes.

Regardless of the modification of the Nissan Almera N16, the standard arrangement and number of modules are unchanged. In the period from 2000 to 2006, the Japanese brand was manufactured in three body modifications: three- and five-door hatchbacks, and a sedan.

The cost of the mounting block included is from 2300 rubles. Original fuses from 120 - 130 rubles apiece, high-quality analogues from 100 rubles apiece.

Signs of faulty fuses

  • After starting the power unit, an indicator lights up on the dashboard, notifying that there is a breakdown in the engine compartment;
  • No power is supplied through the circuit to the equipment, but the mechanism is inactive;
  • The mounting block feels warm to the touch;
  • The smell of melted plastic can be heard in the cabin.

Causes of fuse failure

  • Violation of the terms of technical inspection, due to which the modules became unusable;
  • Purchase of non-original spare parts and components;
  • Installation with a violation of the technological process;
  • Mechanical damage to the block. Modules, related parts;
  • Short circuit in the electrical circuit;
  • Damage to electrical wiring insulation;
  • Terminal oxidation;
  • Weak fastening of the contact board;
  • Water getting inside, condensation forming.

Replacing fuses on Nissan Almera N16

Preparatory stage:

  • Flat head screwdriver;
  • Plastic spatula;
  • Tweezers for removing modules;
  • Additional lighting as needed;
  • A set of new modules, relays – switches.

Sequence of actions when replacing fuses in the passenger compartment:

  • We place the car on a level surface, provide safety measures, fix the shoes, squeeze the parking brake;
  • Open the driver's door and remove the storage compartment at the bottom of the dashboard. Behind it is a mounting block;
  • Carefully pry up the fuse with tweezers according to the serial number. To simplify the module identification process, markings and pinouts are indicated on the back of the cover;
  • We insert a new fuse and check the equipment.

If there is a need to replace the entire mounting block, then you additionally need to unscrew the two bolts that secure the board and disconnect the connectors with the wires.

Replacing fuses in the engine compartment of Nissan Almera N16:

  • Stop the engine, open the hood;
  • On the right side, near the frill, there is a mounting block; it is packaged in a plastic case.

To access the modules, you need to unclip the plastic cover and find the fuse according to the serial number indicated on the back side. Then carry out the replacement.

Maintenance Recommendations

  • Systematically carry out a technical inspection of the car, replace faulty elements with new ones;
  • Check the integrity of the insulating layer of the wiring, avoid damage, cracks, and breaks;
  • After active driving through puddles or in the rain, check the mounting block, remove moisture if necessary, wipe with a rag;
  • Install a new module with the same current rating in place of the faulty module. It is not recommended to exceed or underestimate the amperage. In both cases this leads to premature failure of the fuses;
  • Purchase spare parts and consumables mainly from certified points of sale, official representative offices, and dealers;
  • Check the integrity of the fuses using special equipment - a multimeter.

Changing fuses correctly

Replacing a failed Nissan Almera H16 fuse should be carried out only after eliminating the cause of the blown fuse link.

You will first need to purchase a new high-quality protective element, similar to the old one in rated current.

Blown and good fuses

The replacement procedure itself is simple. Initially, the negative terminal from the battery is disconnected. Using special pliers or tweezers, the burnt fuse is removed from the seat and a new one is installed in its place. All that remains is to connect the terminal and check the functionality of the equipment included in the protection zone of the replaced element.

How to choose a spare part

Almera is a very common car; its engine is installed on many cars of a similar class, so finding a replacement starter is not difficult. You just shouldn’t take frankly cheap components from unknown manufacturers for several reasons:

  • Too low a price indicates poor quality. A starter is a high-power electric motor through which large currents flow during starting (in the range of 200–300 A). Malfunctions of this device can easily cause a fire in the engine compartment or, at a minimum, damage the battery.
  • Cheap spare parts are usually bought on the market and it is most likely not possible to replace faulty spare parts here.

Replacement

Replacing relays and fuses is perhaps the easiest thing to do in car maintenance. It can compete with refueling or checking the oil level.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Open the cover of the relay block (held on by three latches).
  3. We find relay K4. On the bottom left there is a large relay, above it there are two smaller ones, and to the right of them is the one we need.
  4. Let's take him out. To remove the relay, you need to unclip the latches at the bottom.
  5. We install a new one.

If you don’t have a relay, but you need to drive, you can use an equipment relay, which you can do without in an emergency. For example, a fog light relay would be suitable.

Dismantling

If replacing the relay does not help, it is still likely that the source of the malfunction is the fuel pump itself. In this case, it will need to be removed. This is done through a hole located under the rear seat. The removal process is simple. It is important to carefully disconnect the sensors and connectors, and not to damage the latches that secure the pump elements.

We repair Almera H16 starter

The Almera H16 starter is the mechanism responsible for starting the internal combustion engine. Whether the crankshaft can turn with sufficient force depends on its serviceability. The article will talk about how to remove a part with your own hands and check whether repairs are required.

Nissan Almera windshield wiper relay: dealing with mode switching violations

The Nissan Almera windshield wiper relay is indeed “responsible” for problems with mode switching. It is a simple electrical circuit through which the Nissan Almera windshield wiper motor works.

Problems can be solved as follows:

  1. A switch that has become detached from the steering column can be welded into place using simple soldering.
  2. If the contacts on the gearbox have moved away from the trapezoid, then it will need to be removed. To do this, the negative terminal is disconnected, then the leads on the wipers are removed, the frill is separated and you can already remove the trapezoid. It is on this that the Nissan Almera windshield wiper motor and gearbox are located. It is enough to remove the cover, which is held on by three bolts, and the problem becomes obvious - perhaps one of the three copper legs has bent (all that remains is to straighten it and carefully, trying not to touch the contacts with lubricant, put everything back together in the reverse order).
  3. In the case when the wipers work constantly when the ignition is on, operate untimely and other similar moments, you need to “sin” the control chip responsible for the intermittent operation. It also turns on the windshield wipers when the washer is turned on. For both the front and rear windows, the Nissan Almera windshield wiper motor starts precisely from this circuit. The wiper is turned on when the connector is wet. In this case, both terminals for the wipers must be pulled to 12 using 1 kOhm resistors.
  4. Problems can also arise when the contacts in the Nissan Almera N16 windshield wiper relay have melted. In this case, it will be closed with a blackened resistance (and in the gearbox, on the contrary, all contacts are closed).

What does a windshield wiper on a Nissan Almera Classic consist of?

The design is simple. It has three components:

  • fastening unit;
  • pressing block;
  • Nissan Almera windshield wiper blades.

The first point refers to a special removable type mechanism. It includes a pin with fasteners. The parts are attached to each other with a special adapter - each manufacturer has its own, but it determines how reliable the design as a whole is. In another way it is called a trapezoid.

The principle of operation of a trapezoid is a lever - after turning at one end, the brush will make the specified movements at the other (either left or right). The frequency is also adjustable - for this there is a switch located on the steering column. This mechanism is driven by an electric motor.

The clamping block is an arc system in which the parts are connected to each other. Their number is different (depending on the size of the Nissan Almera classic wiper blades). Arcs are made of both metal and plastic (in the first case, plastic or rubber inserts are required to prevent dirt and dust from getting into the element).

The Almera Classic windshield wiper blades themselves are made of rubber. This is suitable for removing dirt and moisture from glass. During manufacturing, strict requirements are met: such elements are flexible and rigid at the same time.

It is important to focus on the size of the Nissan Almera N16 wiper blades.

The length indicators for standard (factory) wipers are as follows:

  • the driver's wiper blade for the Nissan Almera Classic is 55 cm;
  • for the passenger wiper blade of the Nissan Almera N16 it can be equal to 41 cm (it cannot be installed longer than this option).
