This is a modern car with a lot of electronics. The list of relays and fuses for Kia Sid should be well known to car owners, because the stable operation of the system depends on them. The fusible elements are distributed between two mounting blocks. One of them occupies the left end of the dashboard, and the second takes place in the engine compartment. For a long time, the design of these blocks remained unchanged, not counting individual improvements in 2014 and 2017.

To replace fuses you will need:

• Phillips screwdriver;
• tweezers (fixed in the engine compartment);
• fixed key: 10 mm.

Under the hood

The procedure is as follows:

1. Turn off the ignition and stop the car.
2. Remove the terminal from the “-” pole of the battery.
3. Open the unit cover by pressing the latch on the side of the left headlight.
4. Remove the tweezers from the lid.
5. Pull out the blown fuse with tweezers. If it is necessary to replace the fuses protecting the alternator and electric power steering circuits (No. 9 and 10), unscrew the 2 mounting screws with a Phillips screwdriver and remove them.
6. Install replacement or new parts.
7. Close the block and install the terminal.

Windshield washer does not work on Kia Sid

Such a problem with the windshield washer on the Kia Sid may lead to the fact that the trip will have to be stopped so as not to create an emergency situation on the road. You can continue the trip, but you will have to stop quite often to clean the windshield. In most cases, this problem can be solved on your own, you just need to know what to look for and where to look.

Where could the problem be?

If the sound of the windshield washer pump is not heard when the switch is turned on, the first thing that comes to the driver's mind is to check the fuse link in the fuse box. The necessary fuses are installed in the interior block, there are two of them.

They are marked on the cap FR WIPER, RR WIPER. The first of them is designed for a current of 25 Amps, the second for 15 Amps.

You can check them visually, but it is better to use a measuring device, such as a car tester or a multimeter.

If the fuses are in good condition, make sure that the on-board power supply is supplied to the windshield washer pump motor terminals.

Its absence may be due to a break in the power supply wires, oxidation of the switch contacts on the steering column, or their malfunction. Try connecting the pump motor directly to the battery.

Motor operation will confirm wiring or switch problems.

The presence of power at the terminals of a non-working motor may indicate a malfunction. It may consist of wear of the brushes, breakage in the windings, or other breakdowns. It is impossible to fix absolutely all problems with an electric motor on your own, but you can restore the operation of stuck or worn brushes.

Starter fuse and relay

Fog light fuse

Sid's are divided into different mounting blocks. If the right and left front PTFs are protected by element 11 in the block under the hood, then the tenth interior module is responsible for the rear ones. The power of the first is 15 A, and the second is 10 A.

DRL OFF fuse is on

Responsible for the DRL and connected to the steering wheel light switch. Frequent failure symbolizes insufficient power or problems in the wiring. A 15A fuse is required.

Reverse
