Security system capabilities
The first thing that catches your eye when you get acquainted with the electronic watchman is the abundance of simple and useful functions. The developers used a method popular in the industry: they divided the car into 9 zones and installed their own protection method for each.
Car alarm "Starline" includes:
- a relay that prevents unauthorized engine starting;
- sensors (micro switches) for the trunk, hood and doors;
- two-level shock sensors to protect glass and body elements;
- parking brake lock;
- control of the ignition switch position.
Starline A93 review:
The operating instructions contain details about options that improve usability, increase security and prevent the possibility of hacking and control interception:
- dynamic coding of the control signal;
- turning on sound and light notifications (alarms) for a limited period of time;
- disabling alarms without disarming the vehicle;
- saving settings even when the power is turned off;
- simulation of engine malfunction (anti-robbery mode);
- the presence of an individual access code, which makes it possible to urgently turn off the alarm.
Car alarm "Starline" with auto start , according to the instructions, has several ways to notify the owner and others about an attempt to steal or enter:
- turning on the siren and lights;
- alarm notification via key fob with feedback;
- “panic mode”, in which light and melodic alerts are forcibly turned on.
A feature inherent in the Starline series of alarm systems with autostart function is the ability to self-diagnosis. The control unit constantly scans the status of the sensors. If a malfunction is detected, it signals this to the owner using an LED indicator and a notification system via the key fob.
How the system works
All work of this system is carried out using a special, secure protocol and comes down to the simplest principles of a conventional encoder. A special algorithm with a secret code allows the key fob to process the incoming signal and send a response back to the sensor. In this case, the system turns off only when the sent and received signals match, and a confirmation is received on the key fob. All this takes just seconds!
Advantages and disadvantages
The main advantage of this function is that the ability to remotely start the engine allows you to warm up the unit and the vehicle interior before the trip.
As for the disadvantages, they may be as follows:
- The option does not work correctly. The car's power unit starts up, but stalls almost immediately. Or it doesn't start at all. To solve the problem, it is necessary to install the immobilizer bypass module, if it is installed in the car as standard. You should also check the location of the transponder in the device. Make sure the engine running control cable is installed and connected correctly.
- The engine does not start after four attempts. The reason may be a broken connection algorithm. To fix the problem, start the power unit and pull the parking brake lever. With the power unit running, remove the key from the lock. Then open and lock the driver's door while keeping the others closed. After this, turn on the car alarm. When the anti-theft installation is activated, the car engine should stall, and two new indicators will light up on the remote control display - in the form of a siren and a lock.
Instructions for use
The first thing owners have to deal with is mastering how to control functions and modes. Starline alarms with the popular autostart function, the operating instructions list all options for sending commands from the remote control to the control unit. For this purpose, the delivery set includes two three-button key fobs with a display and feedback (main and auxiliary).
A variety of commands are given by alternating single or double pressing of one or two buttons at the same time.
Key fobs have three main functions:
- Arming with the engine running and stopped, controlling sensors, closing locks, starting and stopping the engine.
- Disarming , opening locks, turning off light and sound alarms, programming switching on.
- Monitoring the vehicle's condition and turning on the search mode.
The instructions for alarms with auto-start contain detailed explanations about combinations of presses. It is worth reading it carefully to avoid confusion and problems associated with the inability to get into the car interior or start the engine from autostart. It also contains a transcript of the response to commands using lighting or sound. Thanks to it, you can be sure that the receiver caught the command and the control unit carried it out.
Important: the absence of confirmation indicates a system malfunction or incorrect use of control buttons.
4. Remote extension of engine operation
By tracking the time until the engine stops on the key fob screen, the user can increase the number of minutes at any time. To do this, press button 1 for a long time until two melodic signals are heard. Each press increases the time on the key fob display by 5 minutes.
Renewal can occur any number of times. The maximum time for several attempts is 30 minutes.

Enabling self-start
Before performing autostart on the Starline, it is important to pre-install the temperature sensor, which will be located on the cylinder block of the propulsion mechanism or on the steel lines that supply liquid to cool overheating elements. To connect the sensor, you should use a special insulating contact, usually orange-black. After the installation operations have been completed, you can proceed to setting the parameters of the equipment itself. You need an insulating, loop cable, it will be black, which is part of the mechanism with an 18-pin connector. When installing the structure on a car with a manual transmission, it is better to open the circuit, but on a car with an automatic transmission it will be necessary to keep the circuit closed. The automated start pattern includes 4 rotations of the shaft by the starter launcher; subsequent starts increase the start timing by only 0.2 seconds.
On a diesel engine
To install autostart on a diesel engine, it is recommended to take into account the delay between the electrical contacts and turning on the starter. This time period is needed in order to warm up the glow plugs well; they are located in the head of the block. When heated, metal structures increase the heat of the air, which makes starting the starter easier. The device allows you to specify the start time, 5, 10 or 20 seconds. A standard delay of 2 seconds is required to start a gasoline engine.
After this stage, set up control of the operating process of the power unit; this is recommended to automatically turn off the starter, which will not slow down in order to protect it from overheating. The design provides for control over the drive process based on voltage data in the network; it determines this by alarms that come from the positive or negative circuit of the generator and by an impulse that transmits values to the tachometer.
If engineers have provided a special, convenient button to start and stop the engine, adjust the output algorithm (on the blue cable that will come out of the harness with 6 contacts). To go to the last stage of programming and determine the starline autostart method, press the three buttons on the controller, which are depicted as locks and a star. Before setting the engine to autostart, install the program neutral; this stage is typical for cars with an automatic transmission. After the operation has been completed, the next step is to check the correctness of the launcher process. First turn on the ignition, and then press the star symbol. A small key icon will light up on the small display. To be completely sure, it is better to conduct an additional test with the drive active. After interacting with the key icon, an additional icon will be displayed showing the exhaust gas flow outlet. If the symbols are missing, check the security system instructions and double-check the settings.
