To clean the fuel supplied to the engine, the Renault Logan design provides a fuel filter. During operation, the consumable loses its throughput as it becomes clogged with debris. To solve the problem, it is necessary to replace the old filter. It's not particularly difficult to do it yourself.
Initially, the Renault Logan car was equipped with a separate fine fuel filter. He had no alternative until 2006. The original consumable has article number 6001546326. However, Renault does not manufacture fuel filters on its own. It purchases and packages Bosch products. The direct analogue produced has catalog number 0450902161.
Some Renault Logan cars use an original fine fuel filter with article number 7700845961. It is also not manufactured by Renault. Consumables are purchased from MecaFiltre. Therefore, a direct analogue with catalog number ELE6015 is available for sale.
When purchasing fuel filters in original Renault packaging, you will need to pay 350-500 rubles for consumables. Direct analogues have a lower price. Their cost varies from 300 to 400 rubles.
At the same time, car owners note that the Bosch filter is better in quality and performance characteristics than MecaFiltre, despite almost the same price. Therefore, drivers recommend purchasing the original 6001546326 or a direct analogue 0450902161 produced by Bosch.
If it is not possible to buy a direct analogue or original, you should pay attention to products from third-party manufacturers. The table below presents the best alternatives to branded consumables.

Since 2011, the Renault Logan has finally lost its free-standing filter. It was moved to the fuel cup. The filter does not have its own article number and, according to official statements from the manufacturer, it should be replaced together with the module.
The original fuel cup has article number 6001547604 and costs 6,000-14,000 rubles. Since the price of a branded module is high, drivers buy its analogues. The table below presents a list of the best alternatives to native consumables.

Where is it located and what are the reasons for its replacement?
Where is the filter element located? In the first generation Logan version, the fuel filter was located under the bottom of the car. In accordance with the regulations in the operating manual, replacement of this consumable element will be required at intervals of 30,000 km. The quality of domestic fuel makes certain adjustments to this scheduled replacement time interval. There is no clear criterion, so the decision on the need for replacement rests with the owner of the Renault Logan 1.4 and the Renault Logan 1.6 based on the individual characteristics of operation.
Malfunctions in the operation of the fuel system due to the use of substandard fuel may indirectly indicate that the filter element is clogged, and indicate that the fuel filter needs to be replaced. According to the established rule among Logan fans, replacing the fuel filter is necessary every 20,000 km. Due to its accessible location in the car, replacing it does not cause any difficulties, even for inexperienced car enthusiasts. The main criterion for choosing a spare part should be the quality of the filter. Here, turning to product options produced by famous brands and suitable for a specific modification of Renault Logan 1.4, as well as Renault Logan 1.6, will come to the rescue.
What else has been tried
Know that replacing the fuel filter on a Renault Logan can be done without “bypasses”. All you need is a filter element.
Disassembly and assembly of the case
The element itself is made of corrugated paper. It cannot be found on sale.
What was done:
- The filter housing is sawed around the perimeter with a hacksaw;
- The old filter has been completely removed;
- Gluing was carried out “on screeds”. Gasoline-resistant sealant was used (see photo).
If you install an empty filter, the injectors will become clogged. Therefore, a new element was added to the fuel line. It was an “external” filter, and the “arrow” pointed to the ramp. Result: the engine stops a minute after starting.
The reason for the problem is that the filter should not interfere with the operation of the return valve. The scheme discussed in this chapter must be considered erroneous.
Signs of a clogged filter
When a fuel filter loses its efficiency, it causes a number of symptoms that even beginners can feel. This list includes:
- difficulty lifting the car to a hill;
- drop in engine power, deterioration in car dynamics;
- noticeable increase in fuel consumption;
- the appearance of jerks in engine operation;
- The power unit regularly stalls.
Please note that these symptoms do not necessarily indicate a damaged fuel filter, but first of all we recommend replacing it, especially if the mileage is time to perform the procedure. Unfortunately, it is not possible to visually inspect the part
Filters are most often produced in a closed housing, so it is impossible to visually assess its clogging. On a second-generation car, removing the filter is even more difficult.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to visually inspect the part. Filters are most often produced in a closed housing, so it is impossible to visually assess its clogging. On a second-generation car, removing the filter is even more difficult.
Signs of problems with the filter
The fuel filter does not clog immediately, it happens gradually. Among the main signs that the fuel filter is beginning to fail are:
- Uneven engine operation, unjustified increase in speed, “sneezing” during operation.
- Problem starting the engine after being idle for several hours when fuel is drained from the system.
- A decrease in power, which is especially noticeable when overtaking and going uphill.
- If the filter is heavily contaminated, the car may simply stall.
Obviously, similar symptoms can appear with other malfunctions. But a clogged fuel filter is one of the most common reasons that lead to such problems.
Instructions for replacing the fuel filter on older Renault Logan models
- At the first stage of work, in order to get to the fuel filter, we lift the car with a jack or drive it into an inspection hole.
- On the right side of the rear of the bottom we find the fuel filter. Using a special liquid “WD-40”, wipe off all the dirt with a rag.
- We install a container under the cleaning element to drain remaining gasoline
On both sides, press the fixing ties (green and red button) and disconnect the tips of the fuel pipes.
Pull back the clamp and remove the fuel filter from it.
Install the new filter in reverse order
When installing, pay attention to the arrow on its body. It indicates the direction of fuel movement along the highway
Next, we put the tips of the tee and the fuel pipe onto the filter fittings until the clips snap into place.
- We connect the wiring harness block to the fuel module cover connector and the wire terminal to the negative terminal of the battery.
- To fill the system with fuel, start the engine. In this case, for 2 - 4 s you will hear the clicking sounds of the operating fuel pump. When the pump turns off, check the tightness of the connections of the fuel hoses and filter. We replace the tee and fuel pipe with damaged tips, faulty clamps and a filter with a leaky housing with new ones.
Replacing the Renault Logan fuel filter
In order for the operation of a vehicle such as Renault Logan to be successful, it must be properly monitored.
One of the most important points is the timely replacement of the Renault Logan 1.4 fuel filter. If you carefully look at the manufacturer’s recommendations, this unit should be replaced after 30 thousand mileage.
Here it is worth taking into account the quality of Russian fuel, and therefore this moment may come a little earlier. The driver needs to be as attentive as possible in order to hear and understand that the time has come.
First of all, the vehicle will start to jerk. This is the first sign that the filter is clogged.
Location
It’s worth noting right away that in Renault Logan 1.6 and 1.4 the replacement is carried out in a not entirely identical manner. The difference between these machines is only in the location of the filter element. One more nuance. The fact is that cars with a power unit capacity of 1.4 liters are still produced to this day.
As for the Renault Logan with a 1.6 engine, this power unit was no longer used back in 2006.
So where is the required element? If we talk about cars that went on sale after 2006, then you need to look for it in the fuel tank. It is noteworthy that it is installed together with a gasoline pump.
If we talk about earlier models, everything is a little simpler here. The filter is located in the place where the tubes through which the fuel moves come out of the tank.
Replacement procedure
After you have managed to figure out exactly where the filter is located, you need to figure out how it is changed. You must first prepare all the equipment that may be needed for the work. You will need the following:
- A set of keys.
- Pliers.
- Clean rag.
- Empty container.
When everything listed is in stock, you can proceed.
Regardless of which model the work is carried out on, you need to act carefully and carefully
In the case where the fuel filter is integral with the pump, it is recommended to go to a service station, because here the process will be quite difficult. You will have to completely dismantle the gas tank, and not everyone can do this. In this case, you will also have to strictly observe TB (safety precautions).
How to change the filter on Logan before 2006? There's nothing particularly complicated here. Each person can do this on their own. You should first perform the following manipulations:
- Turn on the ignition.
- Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
- Remove the pump block cover.
- Remove the relay.
- Place the terminal in its original location.
Now start the engine and wait until it stalls. Then turn off the ignition and you are ready to start.
Get under the car.
Using a rag, clean the elements to be worked with.
A red button will appear in front of your eyes, you should press it. This will allow you to disconnect the tube from the filter.
Remove the clamp that holds the filter itself.
Opposite the red button is a green one. You need to press it to detach the other part of the filter.
Now you need to put a new part in the old place and perform the described procedures in reverse order.
Filter element cost
For Logan, the average cost of a filter element ranges from 700-1000 rubles. It should be noted that regardless of what year the machine left the assembly line, the same filter is used.
Knowing the price of the part, as well as the procedure for performing the work, you can easily do everything on your own. Of course, you will have to spend a little time, but the main thing is that you will be able to save money, and this is much more important.

Renault Logan fuel filter - where is it located and when should it be changed?
The element we are interested in can be located on the Logans in two places:
- Inside the fuel tank. In this case, the fuel filter is mounted at the factory together with the fuel pump. A similar arrangement is present on cars that came off the assembly line after October 2006.
- Near the rear right wheel under the fuel tank. The filter in this case is located at the point where the tubes through which fuel enters the gas tank exit. The specified placement is available on vehicles manufactured before 2006.
If the Renault filter is located under the gasoline tank, the manufacturer recommends replacing it in the following situations:
- during even numbered maintenance (second, fourth, and so on maintenance);
- after the car has driven 30 thousand kilometers.
Unfortunately, the quality of fuel in our country is very far from perfect. For this reason, domestic Logan owners change the filter much more often:
- on cars produced since the end of 2006 - after 60–90 thousand kilometers;
- on older car models - at every maintenance.
A clear symptom of the need to install a new filter is the phenomenon when, regardless of the speed, the car begins to move with noticeable and unpleasant jerks for the driver. Having felt such behavior of the car, the motorist should immediately contact the service to replace the described fuel cell.
Signs of a clogged filter
If the filter is clogged, it will interfere with the normal operation of the Logan engine and may jeopardize the integrity of other elements of the fuel system. So don't hesitate to replace it.
The filter is clogged if:
- automatic brakes independently;
- the engine is difficult to start or takes a long time to accelerate;
- at idle the engine runs unevenly;
- consumes a lot of fuel.
To be fair, we note that these signs may mean problems not only with the fuel filter, but also with other systems of the Renault Logan 2. For example, the ECU may fail, it’s time to change the spark plugs, or the idle air controller may be faulty.
There are also plenty of reasons for a clogged fuel filter:
- tank corrosion from moisture condensation;
- water crystals formed at low temperatures;
- poor quality fuel;
- accumulation of dust and dirt, tar.
Frequency of replacing the Renault Logan fuel filter
According to the maintenance regulations, the fuel filter inside the gas tank must be replaced every 120 km. In this case, it is necessary to replace not only the fine filter, but also the fuel pump, since it is non-separable. The operation is quite complex, so if you are unsure of your abilities, it is better to consult a specialist.
Unfortunately, the quality of domestic gasoline does not meet international standards. Therefore, the mileage figure recommended by the manufacturer is far from Russian realities. It is better, following the opinion of experts, to replace every 60-90 thousand kilometers.
In a situation where the fuel filter is located under the bottom of the car next to the gas tank, it should be changed every 30 thousand kilometers or at each regular inspection.

How to relieve pressure in the fuel system
To avoid accidentally taking a gasoline bath, before touching the fuel system, you must first release the pressure in it. If it is not possible to wait 3-4 hours after stopping the car, then proceed as follows.
With the engine turned off, open and secure the hood cover.
Remove the wire from the negative battery
Remove the mounting block cover by pressing the left and right latches
Take out the relay located in the pump mounting block (indicated by an arrow in the figure)
- Connect the wire to the negative side of the battery and start the engine until it stalls, having used up the remaining fuel.
- Next, turn off the ignition and disconnect the fuel hoses.
Selecting a new filter
An older option is a separate Renault Logan fuel filter, which is installed on cars with 1.4 and 1.6 liter engines and is quite cheap. The original part has article number 7700845961 and can be found on sale for 300-400 rubles. You can also find non-original spare parts, but the benefits will be minimal and the quality is questionable.
Parts from the following manufacturers can be used as replacements:
- MANN WK 6002,
- Mahle KL 416/1,
- Bosch 0450905287.
For later models, there are several options to resolve the problem. The most radical thing is to install a new Renault Logan fuel pump, article number 6001547605. You can only change the mesh, art. 6001546326. These spare parts will cost much more. The price of a new fuel pump can reach 17-18 thousand rubles, so you can consider the following parts as a replacement:
- Asam 30290,
- Bosch 0986580957.

At the gas tank where the fuel pipes exit
On cars of the Logan family of the l generation (2005-2006) produced, the fuel filter was located at the gas tank at the exit of the fuel pipes, in the area of the rear wheel, on the right.
In the fuel pump housing
Inside the fuel pump (fuel pump)
If, during the inspection, you found that there is no filter there, this only means that your car was produced after the third quarter of 2006 and the filter is located directly in the gas tank, together with the fuel pump.
The fuel pump must be removed to gain full access to the filter.
And since this design is more reliable, it should be given a little less attention than usual.
Replacement process
Consider the option of replacing the Renault Logan external fuel filter.
While the engine is running, the fuel is under constant pressure, which remains even 2-3 hours after it stops. Therefore, if work to replace the filter is carried out a short period of time after startup, the pressure from the fuel line must be relieved.
To do this, you will need to lift the rear seat and disconnect the wiring connector at the fuel pump.
Then start the engine and wait until the fuel remaining in the line burns out. Further, when the engine stalls for 4-5 seconds, we turn it with the starter, this will indicate the release of operating pressure from the fuel network. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. After making sure that the pressure has been released, you can proceed directly to the dismantling itself. On both sides of the filter there are fittings with fixed tips with red and green clips.
The order in which the pipes are removed does not matter in this case, but you should pay attention to the position of the arrow on the filter housing, which indicates the direction of fuel flow. The installation process is similar in sequence to the removal process
The installation process is similar in sequence to the removal process.
After replacement
When connecting all components of the fuel line and terminals to the battery, it is necessary to fill the entire system with fuel. To do this, turn on the ignition for 3-6 seconds, and the characteristic sound of the fuel pump will be heard. At this time, it is necessary to check the condition of the filter itself, as well as the pipes and clamps, for leaks.
Let's summarize
From the above, we can conclude that you can independently carry out work on replacing filters without having experience in car maintenance. Minor difficulties may arise only when disconnecting the plastic quick-release connections. If you are not confident in your abilities, then it is best to turn to professionals. The price for replacing a Renault Logan fuel filter varies from 300 to 500 rubles.

Tasks and importance of the fuel filter
No matter how perfect the production process is, the fuel will always contain a certain amount of impurities. Their quantity is not critical, but during transportation to the consumer, sand, small debris, and the like may get into it. Do not forget that on relatively old cars the gas tank gradually deteriorates, pieces of the walls peel off and end up in the gasoline. Naturally, all this affects the operation of the engine.
The solution to these problems is the fuel filter. In carburetor cars, it protects the jets from dust and other small particles. Large clogging of the jets threatens a loss of power and a number of other problems. In an engine with an injector, filters prevent clogging of the injectors. Excessive deposits will lead to incorrect operation of the power plant. The most demanding engine is diesel. This requires high-quality cleaning, so fuel filters on cars with diesel fuel must always be changed on time.
The filter design may include elements for coarse and fine fuel purification. Most often, of course, high-quality paper is used that can trap particles as small as 5 micrometers. Similar paper is used in the construction of oil filters. Thus, the filter must be changed, since the operation of the motor directly depends on it.
Where is the fine filter located, symptoms of malfunction
The filter is located under the bottom in the gas tank area.
The fuel filter itself is a rather complex system. In fact, it’s an ordinary consumable, of which there are dozens in Logan, because when worn it is classified as a substitute. The filter performs fine cleaning of the fuel, accumulating sand, dust, other small particles and condensate. When there are too many of them, the fuel module no longer creates enough pressure in the system. The fine filter is located under the bottom in the area of the gas tank. We'll find him easily. In addition, the gas tank has a coarse filter and a mesh, which is also changed if necessary, but for this you need to know how to remove the fuel module and fuel pump on a Logan. This filter clogs less often and is usually displayed when the fuel pump stops working or is unstable.
Fine filter size
We can guess that the fuel filter is clogged not only by looking at the service book and assessing the mileage. The main signs of filter element wear - engine failure:
Subtleties of replacing the fuel filter Renault Logan 1.6 and 1.4
Carefree operation of a vehicle is impossible without periodic maintenance. One of the items on the list of work during the next maintenance is replacing the fuel filter.
It is an integral part of the car’s fuel system and its task is to protect the engine from dirt and rust.
Let's take a closer look at when and how to replace the fuel filter on a Renault Logan with a gasoline engine.
Where is it located?
If the car was manufactured before 2006, the fuel filter is located on the underbody near the gas tank. In Renault Logan, since the fall of 2006, the fuel filter element has been placed in the tank along with the fuel pump. In the first case, you can carry out the replacement yourself. The whole process will take 20–30 minutes.
To replace the fuel filter in Renault Logan since 2006, we recommend that you contact a service station, because it must be replaced together with a gasoline pump, the dismantling and installation of which is best left to specialists.
When they change
In the Renault Logan operating manual, the manufacturer recommends changing the filter every 30 thousand kilometers if the car was produced before 2006, and every 120 thousand kilometers on cars from 2006.
If the car moves jerkily, regardless of engine speed, then it is necessary to check the fuel system, and start with the fuel filter. Its clogging is the main reason for this behavior of the car.
The state of fuel at our gas stations makes its own adjustments. Motorists strongly recommend changing the fuel filter on Renault Logan more often. If the filter is located outside the gas tank, then change it after 15–20 thousand mileage. In cars since 2006, replace the gasoline filter every 80,000 km.
Replacement instructions for cars with a 1.6 liter engine (until 2006)
It is convenient to replace the fuel filter on a Renault Logan car in an inspection pit or overpass. Before changing, be sure to relieve the fuel pressure.
Preparatory stage
- Turn off the ignition and raise the hood.
- Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
- Open the relay block cover. It is located near the battery.
- Remove the fuel pump relay. The location of the relay installation is indicated on the back of the cover.
- Reinstall the negative terminal.
- We start the car and let the engine idle for 2-3 minutes. It will stall on its own. The pump does not pump fuel; the pressure in the fuel system has been released.
- Turn off the ignition.
- Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
Replacing the fuel filter
- We find the filter at the bottom of the car.
- We clean it and the pipelines from dirt using a wire brush, rags and WD-40.
- Disconnect the supply pipeline by pressing the locking button on the tip.
- Drain the remaining gasoline into the prepared container.
- We disconnect the pipeline on the other side. We direct the leaking fuel into the container.
- Loosen the fastening clamp and remove the fuel filter.
- Install a new filter. Make sure that the arrow on the fuel filter coincides with the direction of movement of gasoline in the system.
- We snap the tips on the inlet and outlet of the fuel filter.
- We install the fuel pump relay and install the terminal on the battery.
Video about replacing the fuel filter on Renault Logan
If everything in the step-by-step instructions is not clear, we suggest watching a video about replacing the filter on a Renault Logan car.
The described sequence of operations and video instructions will help you replace the fuel filter yourself on cars with 1.4 and 1.6 liter engines. If the material presented does not give you confidence that you can change the filter yourself, then it is better to contact a service station.
Replacement frequency
The technical manual for the vehicle provides information on how often the fuel filter in the Renault Logan tank is replaced. The manufacturer recommends installing a new part every 120 thousand kilometers. Thus, the filter is quite durable, but there are several nuances. This parameter was chosen on the basis that the driver uses high-quality fuel. In practice, the quality of gasoline at gas stations leaves much to be desired, not to mention the possibility of sand, water and debris accidentally getting into the tank.
As a result, the filter service life can be reduced to 70-90 thousand kilometers. If we talk about the filter, which is located directly next to the gas tank in the form of a small cylinder, then such an element is changed every 30 thousand mileage. Again, this is a conditional figure, so it is optimal to be guided not only by the mileage, but also by observing the behavior of the car.
Choosing a fuel filter for Renault Logan
The quick-change fuel filter is the same for all cars in the series (for both 1.4 and 1.6 engines), its serial number is 7700845961. The price of this filter is within 300 rubles, and you should not expect much benefit from buying a non-original one.
If the original filter is not available for sale, you should pay attention to MANN WK 6002, Mahle KL 416/1, Bosch 0450905287. Subsequently, either the mesh or the entire fuel module assembly was changed on cars
The article number of the mesh is 6001546326, the fuel pump module is 6001547605. If in the first case the selection of a non-original cheap part does not make sense, then with the price of a fuel pump of 17 thousand rubles, substitutes are expectedly popular: Asam 30290, Bosch 0986580957
Subsequently, either the mesh or the entire fuel module assembly was changed on cars. The article number of the mesh is 6001546326, the fuel pump module is 6001547605. If in the first case, selecting a non-original cheap part does not make sense, then at a price of a fuel pump of 17 thousand rubles, substitutes are expectedly popular: Asam 30290, Bosch 0986580957.
Replacement with new cars from the 2nd generation
Drivers of the new Renault Logan were a little less fortunate. The filter can only be replaced together with the fuel pump, so you will have to dismantle the entire assembly. Additionally, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the coarse mesh. You can either blow it out of debris or wash away dirt with a powerful stream of water. If the mesh is in poor condition, buy a new one.
A pressing question is where is the fuel filter located on Renault Logan in new models. It is hidden in the fuel pump itself, so you need to look for this particular unit. It is located under the rear passenger seats, so removal is more difficult compared to the previous instructions. Instructions for replacing a gasoline pump include:
Remove the rear passenger seats. Be careful with the upholstery. You will find a technological hole in the housing. This is the gas pump cover. There is an arrow on the lid that indicates the location of the latch. You need to pry off the cover at this point with a flat-head screwdriver. Don't pull it too hard, there are wires there. Thoroughly clean surfaces of dirt. A pipe is connected to the pump, held in place by a small tie. You need to unclench it and disconnect it from the module. If there are two pipes, disconnect both. Unscrew the O-ring
Please note that this will require a special puller. Re-wipe all surfaces to remove any fuel that may have dripped from the pipe. Remove the old unit, clean the coarse mesh or replace it with a new one. Insert the new fuel pump into the seat. Connect the pipe to it and replace the O-ring. Next, reassemble in reverse order and put the seats back in place.
Now you can start the car and make sure that gasoline is supplied to the engine and that the pump and filter are working correctly. Remember that symptoms of a clogged filter may actually indicate a faulty fuel pump. In such cases, replacement in cars from the second generation is more profitable, since it simultaneously solves both problems.
Diagnostics of the pump requires the help of specialists. If after replacing these components you still have problems with the engine or dynamics of the machine, contact the service center.
Features of the procedure
The complexity and duration of the work depends on the type of filter. If you have a first generation car, then everything will be quite simple. In the case when the filter is built into the fuel pump, you will have to dismantle this entire assembly. Next, we will describe the features of replacing each type of filter. Prepare a complete set of tools in advance, which includes:
- inspection pit/overpass or lift (for first generation machines);
- a set of keys;
- screwdriver;
- puller;
- containers for excess gasoline that may drip from the pipes;
- WD-40 and wire brush;
- new part.
Naturally, you'll need quality lighting, so have a flashlight ready if your workshop or garage has low light bulbs.
Replacing a filter on a 1st generation car
First you need to find out the location of the Renault Logan fuel filter. Everything is very simple here: it is located at the rear of the underbody closer to the right rear wheel. Visually it will be located under the gas tank. The filter looks like a cylindrical element the length of your palm. There are two metal tubes going to it. Once you have found the item, follow these steps:
- Using WD-40 and a rag, clean any dirt from the filter surfaces and connecting elements.
- Place an empty container under the filter so that gasoline does not spill on the floor when dismantling.
- On both sides, press out the fixing ties (made in the form of green and red buttons) and disconnect the tips of the pipes.
- Pull the clamp and remove the entire filter from its seat.
- Install a new filter. Connect all pipes and clamps. Please note that there is an arrow on the filter that shows how to install it correctly.
- Start the car and make sure that the fuel pump sends gasoline through the line.
The final stage is to check the tightness of all connections. There should be no fuel leaks. If they are found, make sure that the pipes are intact and the connection is good. The procedure is quite simple and will take 10-20 minutes of your time. What’s most important is that you don’t have to go into the car’s structure and dismantle any parts of the car to replace the filter.
Symptoms when you need to pay attention to the fuel filter
Nowadays, there are many models of fuel filters on the market, but you should only purchase those recommended by the manufacturer.
When purchasing fuel filters in original Renault packaging, you will need to pay 350-500 rubles for consumables. Direct analogues have a lower price. Their cost varies from 300 to 400 rubles.
If it is not possible to buy a direct analogue or original, you should pay attention to products from third-party manufacturers. The table below presents the best alternatives to branded consumables

Replacing the mesh.
The work begins with removing the fuel module. Before the procedure, it is also necessary to relieve the pressure in the system.
The pump is secured using a shaped nut. In order to unscrew it you will need a special puller. To unscrew it in a garage, you need to find a wooden rod and try to turn the nut by hitting it. Having torn it off, you can use a regular key.
The pump must be pulled out slowly so that the maximum amount of gasoline can drain out of it. But in any case, a small amount will remain, so you need to place some kind of container under it so as not to flood the interior with gasoline.
We inspect the body and find the latches that hold the bottom of the glass. Having removed it, we see the mesh; it can be removed by hand, and no problems should arise.
A very important point during reassembly is the correct installation of the fuel pump. It must be positioned exactly in the center of the hole, otherwise when tightening the nut it is difficult to ensure a tight fit of the cap to the rubber ring, as a result the system will not be sealed, and the smell of fuel will appear in the cabin after refueling at a gas station.
Removing the fuel pump
As already noted, the fine filter is located in the gas tank, which can be reached from the passenger compartment if you remove the rear seat cushion. To do this, you need to put it on from the back and carefully pull it towards you from one side and the other.
After this, access to the top cover of the technological opening of the car’s gas tank opens. The arrow indicates a latch that needs to be pryed, after which the cover can be easily moved and removed. To prevent dirt from getting into the tank, the opened space must be blown out with air using a compressor or cleaned with a rag.
Before removing the pump, use a sharp screwdriver to move the electrical connector flag, after which it is removed. The fuel supply hose is neatly clamped on the sides and is easily removed; if the pump has a return hose, it is removed in the same way. Next, unscrew the top plastic nut of the fuel pump, for which you can use a gas wrench, but in no case should you hit the nut with a hammer and chisel.
After removing the nut, you need to immediately remove the rubber gasket, wipe it and dry it thoroughly. The pump is removed at an angle so as not to damage the float, which is located in its lower part. To drain the remaining fuel, you need to press on the valve at the bottom of the housing.

The main point is not to buy a filter “for clamps”. The pipes must have collars. If they are not there, we say “goodbye” to the seller.
