Replacing the Chevrolet Niva fuel filter with your own hands: step-by-step instructions with photos and descriptions of how to properly replace the filter

I recently changed the fuel filter (both) on a Chevrolet Niva. First the fuel pump mesh, then the fine filter. There’s nothing particularly complicated, it’s better to change the mesh together - you pull out the gas pump, your hands are in the gas - I immediately remember the song from the Gaza Strip, where the lady “washed her tits with soap for 2 weeks and went to the toilet with diesel fuel.”

For the reason described above, I had no time to take photos with the mesh, but I took a couple of photos with the fuel filter. In advance, so that when replacing the filter when disconnecting the hoses, gasoline does not flow under pressure, I recommend turning off the fuel pump relay, and then starting the engine. It will stall in just a second. The fuel pump relay is located on the right under the glove compartment.

At that time I was changing the heater motor (I’ll write more about this separately), and my glove compartment had already been removed. All that remains is to unscrew one more bolt and get to the relay block.

Turn off the second relay on the right.

Well, then everything is simple. From below, under the right rear door, remove the small protective plastic (3 screws in total)

and we see this picture:

and then we do this:

That's it, now you are a man!
