We service Renault Logan 2 - selecting and replacing the air filter

The air filter in the Renault K4M and K7M engines, which are equipped with the Renault Logan 2, is responsible not only for the quality of the air supplied to the combustion chamber, but also for its quantity. A clogged filter, regardless of the engine, will cause air to mix with gasoline in incorrect proportions, which leads to high fuel consumption and malfunction of the engine control system. Replacing the air filter on a Logan can be done in a few minutes, and the filter is inexpensive, so there’s no point in delaying the replacement.

Why you shouldn’t save money on replacing the filter element

Let's talk about the most common myths about the air filter.
Myth #1: The engine oil filter is more important than the air filter.

This is not true because each filter does its own job. The oil one operates in a confined space, so dirt and abrasives from the outside do not enter it. The air filter blocks the path for anything that can penetrate the cylinders simultaneously with air, and then stick to the oil and enter the Renault Logan fuel system.

The Latin word “filtrum” translates as felt. The ancient Romans used felted sheep wool to purify water, wine, and vegetable oil. In modern Renault Logan, the filter elements do not consist of sand or felt, but of paper.

Myth #2: All filters are made from the same paper, so there is no point in buying expensive models.

This is not true, because few people produce paper that is 100% capable of serving as a cleaner. Its most famous manufacturers are Neenah Gessner and Ahlstrom. They introduce various ingredients into the paper that improve the performance of different motors.

Myth No. 3: An expensive filter can easily be replaced with several cheap ones, you just have to change them more often.

This is a dangerous misconception, because... replaces the concepts of cleaning parameters and service life. It's far from the same. Cheap products allow dirt particles to pass through, 2-3 times larger than those allowed for Renault Logan. And the frequency of their replacement does not affect the fineness of cleaning.

Myth #4: Air filters are restored after blowing.

Yes, purging does result in some cleaning of the part. But this is only a visual effect, because... The largest particles visible to the eye and deposited outside are removed. A modern consumable performs the function of deep cleaning, when the finest cleaning is carried out in the depths of the part. And it is impossible to remove the finest dust from the deep layers by blowing. So don't give in to provocations.

8-valve and 16-valve engine

Replacing the air filter in Renault Logan 1.4, 1.6, 2 is a standard procedure that does not have any special differences depending on the engine capacity. The only difference is the location of the filter element in cars with 8-valve and 16-valve engines and the replacement process that depends on this.

In the case of an 8-valve engine, the filter is located at the top of the carburetor. To remove the part, it is necessary to remove the clamps that are located on both sides of the filter element.

After this, it is necessary to remove the bolts on the body of the filter protective box and the lower screws. When removing the part in question, the air intake pipes must be moved to the side, because they can serve as an obstacle to the removal of waste material.

After these manipulations, the filter box is removed, cleaned, and then the filter is changed.

If the engine is equipped with 16 valves, then the filter element is most likely located inside the air intake. For this reason, the procedure for changing the filter element itself is somewhat more complicated:

  • The rubber seal is removed;
  • In the places where the previous filter is attached, the air intake pipes and the unit itself are disconnected;
  • The vacuum pump hose connected to the filter element box is moved to the side;
  • The part to be disposed of is carefully detached from the fastenings to avoid damage to the resonator.

Air filters are designed for single use in the Renault Logan system. The discarded filter element should not be used, even if thoroughly washed. The part accumulates harmful elements that can contaminate the fuel system of the vehicle and cause irreparable harm to it.

Which filter should you choose?

Original factory-produced cabin filters have the number 272775374R, designed for first-generation cars (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 year of manufacture) and 272773016R - for second-generation cars (2014, 2015, 2016 year of manufacture). The type of device is not related to the configuration and engine size and is the same for Logan with 1.4-1.6 engines, and Duster 2.0. Original elements have a disadvantage - high cost, so non-original ones are more popular.

Classic filters recommended for installation can be seen in the gallery.

Filters of average quality are produced in Russia, for example, the Nevsky filter is a carbon-based cleaning element.

Codes

Codes of cleaning products that are suitable for Renault Logan:

  1. Original. Has code 7701062227 (coal).
  2. Delphi. Code TSP0325178C (also carbon).
  3. Delphi. With code TSP0325178 (regular).
  4. AMC. NC2008 9 (regular).

When purchasing a cleaning element, you need to make sure that it has a plastic cover. It is designed to fit securely. If the cover is missing, it will not be possible to properly install the filter system.

Step-by-step replacement instructions

Before replacing the filter element in the air purification system, we will prepare the necessary tools. The design of the air filter housing and mounting is different for 16- and 8-valve engines, so different tools are used. In both cases, you will need a special TORX T25 wrench (asterisk), and for an 8v motor we will also prepare an open-end wrench for 8.

8 valve engine

The air filter housing is located under the hood above the engine. It is secured with 2 bolts and 2 screws. There are two metal latches on the sides.

  • Unscrew the two bolts at the bottom of the housing using a size 8 wrench.
  • Unscrew the two screws on top of the body.
  • Unclip the two latches on the sides.
  • We move the air filter housing to the side and take out the old filter element.
  • We wipe or blow out the body.
  • We install a new air filter.
  • We fasten the housing with latches and tighten 2 bolts and 2 self-tapping screws.

Replacing the cabin filter Renault Logan

When installing a cabin filter on a Renault Logan for the first time, replacing it will later seem like a trifling job, especially on first-generation cars. The filter plug can be seen behind the center console when viewed from the glove compartment, and to remove the filter it is enough to:

  • On the first generation, press the latch protrusion at the bottom of the plug with your finger, tilt it up and remove it from engagement with the heater body.
  • On the second generation, unscrew the two screws holding the plug, then hook the filter curtain with your fingers and pull it out.

Installation is no less simple, especially on the first generation, where it is impossible to confuse the direction of the air flow (indicated by an arrow at the end of the filter). On second-generation cars, the arrow should point forward in the direction of travel of the car.

The filter cartridge is carefully folded (otherwise the tight fit to the walls of the compartment will not allow it to fit smoothly) and is inserted into the heater body, after which it is closed with a plug.

When removing the filter, as a rule, a large amount of debris spills onto the mat. It is worth vacuuming the inside of the stove body itself - the size of the slot for the filter makes it quite easy to operate with the narrow nozzle of the vacuum cleaner. On cars with air conditioning, replacing the cabin filter should be combined with cleaning the condenser: on sale you can find many aerosol compositions for cleaning and disinfecting honeycombs.

If there is no filter on the machine, then a certain flexibility and a sharp stationery knife will be required. It is not difficult to understand how the plug is cut out of the stove body if you have a removable one on hand. Helpful advice: the knife should be heated with a gas burner, then it will move very smoothly and without the risk of distortion; this technology has long been developed by mechanics at Renault car dealerships.

How to install

Installation of the cabin filter can be done either independently or at car service stations. This procedure is simple, but requires care.

  1. For ease of operation, you need to move the passenger seat back and remove the carpet from the passenger side. It is better to cover it with paper, since during the cutting process shavings will form, which can then be removed along with the covered paper.
  2. Next, you will need to cut out the cast plug without damaging the rest of the stove body. This can be done with a knife or hacksaw blade. The cutout must be of the correct rectangular shape, since the filter element will need to be tightly installed into the resulting hole. Before cutting through the “window” you need to mark the contours of the plug so as not to cut off too much. Otherwise, air will enter the gaps, which can lead to the formation of extraneous noise.
  3. After cutting out the plug, it is necessary to process the edges to remove sharp edges and nicks.
  4. After which you need to remove from the stove shaft all the debris that has accumulated there during operation and during the cutting process. This procedure is best done with a vacuum cleaner, but if you don’t have one, a brush will do.
  5. Next, you need to install the cabin filter into the resulting hole and check for tight installation. If the fit is very loose, you can additionally secure it to the body using a self-tapping screw.
  6. Next, it remains to check the functionality of the heater. To do this, you need to turn on the fan at maximum speed and check with your hand whether there are any air leaks in the cut areas.

Replacing the filter

We open the hood of our car and find the place where this filter is located. It is very easy to recognize - it is located under a large plastic cover that protects the filter.

The same cover protects other engine components. We need to remove it.

For this purpose, we snap off the four latches, which are located at the ten, eleven, thirteen and fourteen o’clock levels, if you imagine that this is an ordinary analog clock.

Unclip the 4 latches of the air filter housing

Also, you need to unscrew five screws on the lid. Four of them are at eight, seven, five and four o'clock, again when compared to the watch dial. And another self-tapping screw is located in the middle of the lid, closer to its lower part. You need to work with a Phillips-type screwdriver.

Unscrew the five screws of the air filter housing

Once the cover is removed, you can check the condition of the “engine number” plate; it often deteriorates over time, which can cause problems when later selling the car!

Lifting the lid reveals the old filter. That's exactly what we need to replace. However, it’s a good idea to make sure that the old filter needs replacing. Inspect it for damage and cleanliness. If everything is in order, then the filter can be left, especially if too much time has not passed since its installation.

We take out the old filter

After this, you need to install a new filter. There are no fastenings provided, so replacement is as simple as possible. Now we install the motor cover again in its place, snapping it and screwing it with self-tapping screws. The main thing is to do it efficiently so that dust, dirt or even water does not get there.

Now you can install the new air filter

When the filter is removed, it does not interfere with diagnostic operations. Without a filter, it’s convenient to check the oil level in the gearbox, but when have you checked it before? Now the time has come!

Let's get started

Replacing the air filter on Renault Logan is not difficult. The entire process can be completed in 5-10 minutes. The only tool you need is a screwdriver. Additionally, prepare rags if you need to wipe the filter seat. We will provide two instructions.

Replacing the oval air filter

Follow the steps of this instruction:

  • Open the hood. The large plastic container in the center is the air filter housing. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 5 screws.
  • Next, unclip the 4 latches (2 on the sides and 2 on the top).
  • Lift the protective cover of the housing and remove the old filter.
  • Remove dust with a rag or damp cloth, and replace the new filter.
  • Reassemble in reverse order.

Replacing the rectangular air filter

In the central part of the engine compartment there is a container with a filter. You need to do the following:

  • At the top, closer to the windshield, unscrew the two fasteners. To do this you will need a tool with a Torx tip.
  • Unhook the 2 latches on the sides.
  • Lift slightly the part of the container that is located closer to the windshield. Pull out the rectangular filter. It goes towards the windshield.
  • Place the new filter in place, pressing it firmly against the housing. Close the cover and replace the fasteners.

As you can see, the procedure is elementary, so even a beginner can cope with this task without outside help.

Replacing the filter on a 16-valve Renault Logan 2 engine

Replacing the filter on a 16-valve Logan will also not cause much trouble. To replace, you will need a Torx T25 bit.

  1. Disconnect the flexible clamp securing the filter housing.
  2. Disconnect the box from the filter cartridge nozzle.
  3. Disconnect the vacuum brake booster pipe.
  4. Using a bat, unscrew the screws of the filter cover on the cartridge.
  5. We take out the filter, wipe the cartridge and install a new one in place.

This completes the filter replacement. We carry out the next replacement no later than after 12-15 thousand km.

How to change the air filter on an 8-valve Renault Logan

To replace the round filter with Logan we use the following method:

  1. Unfasten the latches.
  2. Unscrew the screws around the perimeter.
  3. We lift the lid.
  4. We take out the old element, thoroughly wipe the filter housing and install a new one.

The rectangular filter is located in the cartridge and is connected to the intake air duct by corrugation. To replace, perform the following operations:

  1. Unscrew all screws securing the filter housing.
  2. By bending the clamp, pull the cartridge towards you.
  3. We replace the filter and clean the inner surface of the cartridge.

Which air filter to buy for Renault Logan 2

Before choosing a filter for Renault Logan 2, you need to decide on the engine model. Depending on the year of manufacture, the car was equipped with Renault K7M engines with an 8-valve head and K4M with 16 valves with a power of 105 horsepower.

Filter from an old 8-valve Renault K7M engine

We conclude: for all 8-valve Renault K7M engines, air filter 165469466r is suitable, and for 16-valve K4M engines you need to buy filter 8200431051; until 2022 it had article number 7701045724. The price of the original is about 10 dollars.

In addition to original Renault filters, you can buy one of several replacements from third-party manufacturers. For the eight-valve K7M engine:

What to put on Renault Logan

As mentioned earlier, the choice of model directly depends on the generation of your car. Here are the following options:

  • 8V 1.4 and 1.6 liters – filter with catalog number 77 01 070 525. Made in the form of an oval.
  • V16 until 2012 – rectangular filter. Articles 7701045724, 8200431051.
  • Cars manufactured after June 2013 - rectangular filters with article number 16 54 694 66R.

Original products cost around 400-500 rubles. If this is too much, then you can look at analogues for 100-300 rubles. We recommend studying the following models:

  • GoodWill, AG371;
  • analogue: 8200431051 (USA);
  • Bosh, Mann, Wix, Mahle, 6001998848;
  • FiltronAR 131/1;
  • Fortech Logan, FA-030; Mann, C2672/1;
  • Asam 30664.

There are no fundamental differences between compatible models and the original. No matter how high-quality the filter is, after 15 thousand kilometers it will still become unusable. Given the regularity of replacement, drivers save on air filters by buying cheaper, but no less high-quality analogues.

When to change the air filter on Logan 2

The plant recommends replacing the Renault Logan 2 air filter, regardless of the engine, after a mileage of 30 thousand km. Nevertheless, a rare filter survives until the middle of this period. This is primarily due to the concentration of dust in urban environments, and if the car is used mainly on country roads, then it is better to shorten the scheduled replacement period even further.

This filter definitely needs urgent replacement.

Signs of a clogged air filter can look different:

  1. High fuel consumption, rich mixture.
  2. Loss of traction, loss of power.
  3. The engine does not develop maximum speed;
  4. Hard start.
  5. Unstable engine operation at idle speed.

You also need to find out which filter element was installed on the 8-valve engine. Until 2022, round filters were installed, after which rectangular filters were installed. The process of replacing them is not much different.

Manufacturers of air filter elements for Renault

Finding a branded filter manufactured by Renault is currently not difficult at all. Almost any online store for car enthusiasts always has it. At the same time, the assortment of such retail outlets includes similar products from other manufacturers, in particular the following:

  • “Febi” and “Mann”, “Hans Pries”, “Mahle”, “Bosch” (Germany);
  • "UFI" (Italy);
  • "Filtron" (Poland);
  • "Asam-sa" (Romania).

Auto mechanics from Russian service centers recommend purchasing not foreign filter elements, but exclusively Russian ones. Firstly, they are cheaper, and secondly, they are optimized for our operating conditions (read - for the high dust content of roads in the country and neighboring countries).

The following Russian brands are now considered the most popular manufacturers of filters for Renault Logan:

  • “Good Will” (a brand well known to drivers);
  • “Nevsky Filter” (the cheapest and at the same time truly high-quality filtration elements);
  • "BIG" (also inexpensive auto parts).

Don’t forget to regularly and promptly replace the air filter on your Renault, and the car, believe me, will not let you down on long trips.

List of works then-1

The first maintenance of the second generation Renault Logan is carried out at a mileage of 15,000 kilometers and includes the following work:

  • changing the oil in the power unit. The K7M engine requires 3.3 liters, the K4M engine requires a filling volume of 4.8 liters. The car manufacturer's recommendations are MM Evolution 900SXR 5W40 (catalog No. 194877) in a five-liter canister. The oil change operation also requires the installation of a new sealing ring for the drain plug (part number 0110265505R);
  • replacing the oil filter (the factory product has catalog No. 8200768913);
  • replacing the power unit air purification filter. They are also different for different engines: for the K7M you should buy a filter with article number 0165469466R, for the K4M engine - the more expensive 08200431051;
  • replacing the cabin filter. By default, a regular filter with article number 0272773016R is installed. It makes sense to change it to coal, which provides a higher degree of purification of the air entering the cabin.

In addition to replacements, the following checks are carried out at the first and all subsequent maintenance:

  • alternator belt condition;
  • engine CO radiator and hoses for leaks;
  • battery;
  • brake fluid level;
  • functioning of the vacuum booster;
  • degree of wear of brake discs/pads;
  • operation of outdoor lighting devices;
  • power steering fluid level;
  • condition of suspension units, CV joint covers;
  • condition of body elements;
  • exhaust system tightness;
  • correct operation of the clutch pedal;
  • condition of the gearbox for transmission oil leaks.

Do-it-yourself Renault Logan repair: what work will be required?

The Service Manual contains complete information on operating a Reno vehicle:

  • Body repair, cleaning of deflectors and sunroof built into the roof of the car.
  • Monitoring the condition of the engine, draining fluid from the filter device and scheduled work.
  • Clutch maintenance (checking and adjusting free play, replacing faulty components).
  • Determination of the wear level of brake discs and pads, the condition of the hydraulic drive and the volume of brake fluid.
  • Checking the steering system, windshield washer and hydraulic unit.
  • Technical control of shock absorbers and chassis elements.
  • Monitoring the performance of lighting devices, windshield wiper blades, and rear-view mirrors.
  • DIY ECU diagnostics.
  • Checking light bulbs and battery voltage levels.

Replacement frequency

According to the manufacturer's regulations, the filter element should be changed every 15 thousand kilometers. In practice, this figure is quite optimistic. If you often drive off-road or live in a large city, then the filter is subject to a very large load. Many car owners claim that in such conditions the filter becomes clogged after 6-7 thousand kilometers.

The best option would be to visually inspect the element every 10 thousand. This will allow you to quickly identify the level of wear and, if necessary, replace it. We also additionally recommend studying what features in the car’s behavior indicate critical wear of the air filter. We will cover this further.

Experienced drivers can judge the occurrence of most problems in a car by their behavior. This comes with experience, when you literally begin to feel the car. You can determine whether the air filter is worn out by the following symptoms:

  • Noticeable increase in fuel consumption. A clogged filter causes oxygen starvation. The fuel in the cylinder does not burn completely and very quickly, which causes increased consumption.
  • Power drop. A clogged filter creates additional air resistance. The motor makes extra effort to “suck” it, which affects the overall power.
  • Ignition problems when the engine refuses to start.
  • Increased CO2 content in exhaust gases due to incomplete combustion of fuel. Unfortunately, it is possible to register an increase in concentration only with the help of specialized equipment.

If you find problems with dynamics and increased consumption, be sure to take action. These are clear signs that the motor is not working correctly. If you don’t want to waste money on major repairs, find the cause and eliminate it. The easiest way to start is by checking the air filter.

Replacement interval

The manufacturer's recommendations say that the filter needs to be changed every 15 thousand kilometers.

However, this figure is typical for “ideal” conditions, whereas in real operation, replacement must be carried out every seven or eight thousand kilometers. But this is not the limit. So, if the car is actively used in rural areas or other areas with a large number of dirt roads, then you can change the filter once every five thousand kilometers.

Symptoms that may require replacing the air filter:

  1. the engine stalls and is unstable;
  2. the engine stalls at idle;
  3. Engine speed fluctuates.

Please note that these symptoms can also occur when the fuel filter is clogged.

Very dirty air filter

To convince you of the need to replace the filter, it is worth saying that a grain of sand that gets into the engine can reduce its life by thirty or even forty percent. And this, very soon, can turn into a significant financial expense for you.

Types of filters

It would be a good idea to find out what types of filters exist. Most passenger cars are equipped with classic paper filters with an accordion-shaped structure. More than 400 types of paper have been developed. In terms of filtration quality and ease of manufacture, they occupy a leading position, surpassing carbon and oil-inertial ones. The oil in the air filter did not provide the necessary cleaning effect, so they were abandoned.

Models made of synthetic microporous materials are also actively used. They are stronger and more durable, but are more expensive.

By design, filters are divided into round (for engines with a carburetor), panel (used in modern cars) and cylindrical (mostly for diesel cars).

Please note that depending on the year of production of Renault Logan and the type of engine, the shape may differ, but we will talk about this a little later.

There are classifications based on the number of degrees of filtration:

  • 1st degree. The design includes only paper arranged in an accordion-shaped casing.
  • 2 degrees. Additionally, the design includes a pre-cleaner made of synthetic material. Such filters effectively retain large particles. Most often they are installed on SUVs and special equipment that operate in extreme conditions.
  • 3 degrees. It includes a special impeller, which, due to turbulence, causes particles to settle inside a special container in the filter itself. They are among the most effective.

Please note that each filter produced is subject to strict requirements. It should have an air flow resistance of around 0.6%, and also retain 99% of pollutants. New certified products must meet these requirements.

Cleaning filters: is it worth the time?

Surely, many drivers have tried to clean the air filter using a vacuum cleaner. And indeed, almost white paper was obtained from the gray surface. However, this method allows you to remove only large debris that is literally on the surface. The difficulty lies in the fact that small particles are tightly stuck in the internal pores of the fibers, and it is almost impossible to remove them even with the most powerful air flow. Such cleaning will be absolutely useless. The cost of a new filter is not that high. You will spend more on fuel if you overuse it if the filter is completely clogged.

The second “brilliant” idea of drivers is to saturate the filter with oil. Naturally, there will be no positive effect from such a decision. The liquid instantly clogs the micropores, which reduces the throughput of the part to almost zero. Remember that all paper filters are disposable. They only need to be replaced with new ones.

Regulations then renault logan

The scheduled list of works included in maintenance does not include the elimination of breakdowns that occur suddenly and unexpectedly. And although this list is known, it is not possible to talk about the exact cost of the work due to various circumstances - fluctuating exchange rates, the pricing policy of a dealership or car service center and other factors. We can only note that the overall price tag will be much lower than that of other foreign cars representing the same class.

Why is it not worth refusing to carry out maintenance? There are two main reasons:

  • undergoing maintenance at dealerships is a prerequisite for warranty service of the vehicle. A note about each regulatory event carried out is entered in the service book, and the absence of at least one such entry is grounds for refusal to fulfill obligations for warranty repair of the car due to the car owner’s failure to comply with the contractual terms;
  • refusal to carry out maintenance negatively affects the level of safety of the driver/passengers, significantly increasing the likelihood of a sudden breakdown of the car.

Let's look at the main operations included in Renault Logan maintenance. The most common and important of them is changing the engine oil. The fact is that a mileage of 15 thousand kilometers is enough for the lubricating fluid to lose its original performance characteristics to a certain extent.

Untimely replacement of the MM is the main cause of premature wear of parts of the piston group of the power unit. Since this happens gradually, car owners may notice deterioration in engine performance too late, and then they cannot do without expensive engine overhauls.

Along with the engine oil, the oil filter is also changed, which seems quite logical - if the liquid is heavily contaminated, then the same fate awaits the filter element.

In addition to the oil filter, the air and cabin filters are changed at each maintenance. The first ensures the purification of the air necessary for preparing the fuel-air mixture, the second is responsible for cleaning the air entering the cabin when the airflow is turned on.

The brake/coolant fluid is replaced much less frequently - it is believed that these lines are more sealed, and the technical fluids themselves are much less susceptible to contamination.

Depending on the mileage or as wear occurs, the drive belts complete with rollers must be replaced.

An important part of maintenance is computer diagnostics. Renault Logan, although it belongs to the category of budget vehicles, is a completely modern passenger car, equipped with a considerable number of electronic systems, the incorrect functioning or failure of which is almost impossible to visually diagnose. This procedure can significantly facilitate the search for existing faults.

Zero maintenance of Renault Logan is not a mandatory procedure, but its implementation is a significant contribution to increasing the service life of the vehicle’s mechanisms and components. It includes:

  • diagnostics of the machine in order to identify manufacturing defects that were not previously detected;
  • Changing the engine oil/oil filter.

Carrying out zero maintenance after breaking in a new car is a preventive measure aimed at preventing possible problems that arise when the car manufacturer's recommendations are violated in the early stages of the car's operation. We are talking about speed limits that are in force during the running-in of the car - not all drivers comply with these rules, which can negatively affect parts and components of the vehicle that have not yet been ground in.

Stages

  1. After you have purchased everything you need, you can begin repair work.
    Using a shaped screwdriver, unscrew the screws that are located on the cover of the housing in which the filter itself is located. There are only four self-tapping screws, and in order to unscrew them, you do not need to disconnect any additional systems or components. Everything is simple here. We put the unscrewed screws in a separate place so that they do not get lost.
  2. The filter housing cover is held in place by four latches.
    If everything is fine, they should open without much effort. We remove the cover and gain access to the filter. Most likely, it will be extremely dirty and dust may fall off it, so this work must be done very, very carefully.

    Old dirty filter

  3. You can clean the old filter and put it back, but it is better not to do this, because during operation, if it is not clean enough, other components may fail. The best option is a new filter.
  4. After you remove the old filter, at the bottom of the pan you will find a lot of dust that needs to be removed with a rag, or better yet, with a vacuum cleaner. But before starting work, be sure to close all openings to prevent dust from entering the engine through them. Dust can also be removed with a compressor, but then still go over all surfaces with a cloth.
  5. Carefully, so as not to damage it, unpack the new filter element and put it in place.
  6. Make sure that the filter fits well into place.
    There should be no distortion. Properly installed filter barrier
  7. Next, we begin the assembly, but first you need to clean the cover from dust - just wipe it with a wet rag.
  8. Put the filter box cover in place. If this does not work, then the filter assembly is probably installed incorrectly. Install it differently. We remind you once again that it should sit tightly and rigidly. If the lid fits into place without problems, it means you did everything right.
  9. The remaining operations are performed in reverse order.
  10. Secure the cover with the latches. Before you start tightening the screws, it would be a good idea to lubricate them with alcohol or solvent. This will make it possible to prevent rust and other problems.
  11. When screwing them in, you don't need to use much force because you may damage their sockets, and next time you will need to use extra force when unscrewing them. In a word, they should be twisted well, but not too tightly. This completes the replacement of the air filter.

The request returned an empty result.

In conclusion, we draw your attention to the fact that the better the air barrier purchased, the better the motor protection will be. It has already been established that a good filter will help significantly save fuel. Experienced craftsmen advise replacing at least every six months, but in certain situations this period can be reduced or, on the contrary, extended.

For example, if you mostly drive in dusty areas, you may need to change the filter after just a couple of months. If your car sits idle for a long time, and you drive mainly only around the city, then it is enough to change it once a year.

We hope that this article will help you replace the filter yourself, quickly and efficiently.

We are moving towards solving emerging problems

1. If a Renault Logan car suffers from a fuel pump malfunction, you should consider the nuances of its electrical connection and operating features. And do the repairs yourself only if you are a specialist. We carefully check the corresponding fuse in terms of its integrity. If the thread breaks, replace it. Do not neglect monitoring the performance of the pump relay. We also check. These two faults are the most common causes of fuel pump failure. The Internet is filled with a lot of information on this topic.

2. If the tie rod end is worn, it is very easy to replace it:

  • dismantle the wheel;
  • unscrew the nut securing the ball pin of the tip;
  • through several targeted impacts with a hammer, we remove the hinge from the ear in the steering knuckle;
  • We disconnect the tip from the rod and screw a new element onto it (we follow certain rules - we take into account the number of threaded turns that fit the old part on the rod and use the video material).

3. To replace worn pads in the front brake mechanisms, we proceed according to the following algorithm:

  • We start by removing the wheel;
  • unscrew a couple of bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket;
  • remove the used pads;
  • we install “fresh” parts in their places;
  • The assembly process is the reverse of the dismantling procedure (for convenience, we use a suitable video).

4. If in a Renault Logan mechanical transmission unit switching gears becomes hard or difficult, then we independently adjust the rocker. The procedure is carried out in a pit and looks like this:

  • move the shift lever to the neutral position;
  • unscrew the bolt;
  • fix the rod in the required position and tighten the bolt.

5. Repairing and maintaining a car is a responsible matter, and not always easy. If there is a break in the brake hose, we replace it with a new element. To carry out this action, perform the following manipulations:

  • unscrew both hose ends: from the line and from the caliper;
  • We are quickly installing a new part;
  • We bleed the system by pressing the Renault Logan brake pedal several times, followed by opening the fitting until the air bubbles in the escaping fluid completely disappear;
  • If you have any difficulties with your work, use video instructions.

6. When windshield wipers make extraneous noise, it becomes necessary to “supply” their mechanism with lubricant. We perform this action in the following order:

  • we disassemble the plastic panels covering the assembly and located under the windshield;
  • disconnect the mechanism and remove it as an assembly;
  • We carry out cleaning and subsequent lubrication of moving elements;
  • We assemble the unit and diagnose it for the absence of unpleasant noise.

7. If the handbrake cable breaks, the unit stops functioning. Replacing a part involves performing the following simple steps:

  • in the cabin, disconnect the broken cable from the drive handle;
  • dismantle the attachment point to the Renault Logan body;
  • We install a new cable in place of the old one;
  • adjust the degree of tension and stroke of the handle;
  • We check the functionality.

To carry out repairs and maintenance in Renault Logan, we stock up on the minimum required set of tools.
