Having looked at the design of the locks, I realized that the design is very simple and there is really nothing to modify in it, except for one spring. The fact is that the respected and beloved AvtoVAZ decided to make these locks reliable, so the spring acts as an insurance policy in case the springs on the door handles fail or jam. If the return springs in these elements jam or fail, the lock spring will save the situation and the lock will not jam in the open position (in the closed position, due to design features, it has extremely little chance of jamming).
Having made sure that I had complete order with the handles and that the mechanisms worked easily and properly, I began to bend the spring in order to reduce its force as much as possible so that it would still perform its function (fixing the lock in the closed position). I tinkered with them quite a bit, and at the same time adjusted the lock latches (initially they were not very accurately configured). The spring is fragile and I broke it on the driver's door and had to buy a new lock.

Then the entire mechanism is assembled and put in its original place. If the door does not close, use a round file to enlarge the hole on the right. As a result, the outer part will “sink” and will not rest against the rack. The door will close freely.
Then the outer part is removed from the lock and the two bushings on it are ground off using the same file. The bushings are located on the side of the mechanism that presses against the door. But you shouldn't remove them completely.
Using the same file, they grind down the corner on the lock and the caps on the connectors, thanks to which the entire structure is connected. The hats are ground flush. Then the structure is reassembled, and the rods are connected to the door handles. So that the car door can open freely, the place where the rod is attached is turned in the other direction. The rods are also connected on all other doors. Next, all that remains is to check the functionality of the mechanism.
Removing old locks
To remove the old lock, you need to unscrew the five bolts located at the end of the door. They hold the lock itself and the window lifter guide. After this, we remove them, freeing the locking mechanism from the latches of the lock drive rods. The plastic fasteners for the rods and pushrods can be snapped off using a flat-head screwdriver. Exposure to them must be carried out with extreme caution so as not to damage them. The last step before installation is to remove the external opening handle. It is removed by unscrewing the two nuts holding it on the inside of the door. It is more convenient to unscrew them using a socket wrench. After this, the handle can be freely removed from the outside. Now everything is ready to install new locks.

We learned how to install silent locks on a VAZ-2107. Now let's find out how to regulate them. Problems with closing are usually due to the fact that there is no clearance between the lock and the pillar or the position of the lock relative to the bolt on the body is incorrect.
The gaps are adjusted as follows. They remove the lock, disassemble it and grind down the elements so that it does not stick out from the door so much. The mechanism is then carefully moved by tapping a hammer through a wooden spacer.
To correctly get the exact location for the bolt hole and install it, you need to snap the outer part of the lock two clicks and use chalk to mark where this part will press against the rubber seal. This mark is used to determine the optimal location.
Next, drill a hole for cutting an M10 thread, cut the thread, screw in the bolt so that it does not rub the door. Then they check the functionality. It is better to additionally fix the bolt with epoxy glue. Further adjustment consists of shifting the position of the lock - simply loosen the bolts and move the lock.
Working principle of the door lock
The VAZ 2107 door lock has internal teeth; turning the key sets them in motion. When closing, the pins move in such a way that they fall into the grooves and the device is locked. If jamming occurs or difficulty opening/closing the blade occurs, it means that the pins have not completed their path completely. When opening, a decoupling displacement occurs. The teeth during movement create a kind of coding when the key makes a revolution. Failure is most often associated with faulty pins, ice getting into the core of the device or a broken pin.
If the driver hears a creaking sound when turning the key or jamming, then disassembling the device is required. If the key does not fully enter the keyhole or if the mechanism is damaged, replacement of the cylinder or the entire mechanism is indicated. Wear of internal elements is the most common reason for repairs. To carry out this procedure, you need to purchase a new cylinder or lock, prepare a set of tools and lubricant. After disassembling the device and visually, installing a new element is not always required. Sometimes it is enough to lubricate the pins with silicone.
