VAZ-2107 is a rear-wheel drive small class sedan, produced from 1982 to 2012. During the years of the USSR, this car was considered the successor to the outdated family of VAZ-2101, 2102 and 2103 models, on the basis of which it was built. In addition to the 2107 sedan, the updated line consisted of the 2104 station wagon and the 2105 sedan, which, in comparison with the “top” 2107, had a basic level of equipment. In other words, 2107 is a modified version of 2105. The sedan competed with Moskvich and IZH cars. In post-Soviet Russia, the VAZ-2107 headed the “classic” family of VAZ cars, which was replaced by the Lada Granta in 2012.
Physical and mechanical properties
The oil belongs to the category of highly purified materials with a low content of sulfur additives. Technical characteristics depend on its physical and chemical properties, which in general look like this:

The recommended oil change interval for the gearbox and axles of the VAZ-2107 is from 30 to 40 thousand km, depending on operating conditions. Thus, an early oil change may be required in difficult climatic and road conditions, frequent off-road trips or in traffic jams, which often cause sudden starts and braking, which leads to overheating of the transmission. When replacement may be needed

Compared to its predecessor 2105, model 2107 was distinguished by its original design of the radiator grille and rear lights. New front seats and an improved instrument panel with tachometer were also installed. The quality of the interior trim has improved slightly, resulting in more comfort. At various times, the VAZ-2107 engine range consisted of gasoline carburetor engines with a volume of 1.3 and 1.5 liters, as well as a more modern injection engine with a volume of 1.5 liters. Flushing the gearbox

Signs of gearbox problems

Flushing occurs with the engine running and first gear engaged. After 3-4 minutes, the dirty liquid is drained and the drain plug is replaced.
To add fresh oil, take an oil pump or syringe with a tube, pump the lubricant through the filler hole to its bottom edge (until it starts to flow out) and tighten the plug.
Filling the gearbox with oil is sometimes carried out using a rubber hose and funnel. One end of the hose is lowered into the gearbox housing, and the other is led out into the engine compartment. A filler funnel is also inserted into it. The only disadvantage of this method is the need to warm up the oil or change it only in the summer.
