In five- and four-wire systems with reverse polarity, there are no standard relays. Also, such cars may not have a central locking control unit. One of the five contacts that come from the switch will always be closed to 12 volts; the position of the lock does not matter.

One or two more outputs must be connected to ground, regardless of the switch. Of the remaining two contacts, one should close to +12 volts when the lock is switched to Lock mode. The second output must be shorted to 12-volt power if the switch begins to operate in Unlock mode. In such vehicles, it is necessary to cut the standard electrical lines that come from the main switch. It is located in the driver's door.
