The data given below is in the service documentation for Sherkhan equipment. And by implementing any of the schemes, you can get the autostart option without the need to carry out repairs later. Regular ignition switch

During installation, a set of terminal blocks is connected to the Scher khan Logicar alarm unit. To make autostart work better, the cord from the CN5 terminal block, the shell of which is painted yellow and black, is connected to the tachometer. There is a loop on the body of the Sher khan security system, which is cut if autostart is implemented in cars with automatic transmission. Connecting "Magicars" of the old family

The circuit shown here is suitable for Scher khan magicar systems numbered 9 and less. Scher khan magicar modules of the “old family” are equipped with the same type of connector, which is done to make repairs or even replacements easier. Let us list the main differences between Logikar and Magikar:

  • As can be seen from the diagram, to implement autostart, a Scher khan magicar signaling connector with six contacts is used. The Sher khan system of the Logicar family has three additional signal outputs, but here there is one (“purple” cord).
  • The Scher khan magicar system can emulate all the circuits passing through the lock. This is not done for Sher khan systems of the Logicar family.
  • Options similar to F2-29 were not provided for Scher khan magicar systems. It is possible to connect to the “START/STOP” button, and this will not lead to the need for repairs. But autostart will work every other time.

If the "START/STOP" button is used, and the engine needs to be equipped with autostart, do not buy a Scher khan magicar kit with number 9 or lower. The latter, by the way, is also typical for Starline signaling, unless they belong to new families.

Installation and connection

For Scher-Khan Logicar 4, the installation instructions require the following steps:

  1. Preparing the car. Before connecting the alarm, the on-board network must be de-energized. To do this, turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery terminals.
  2. Installation of the processor unit. The device is mounted in a place that is inconspicuous to potential criminals, such as behind the dashboard. To do this, remove the decorative trim of the steering column and unscrew the screws holding the shield. The block is placed in a free space and secured with screws.
  3. Siren installation. The part is installed in a hidden place. The horn must be turned down. The siren must not be placed near the engine.
  4. Installing the Valet button. The part is used for emergency shutdown of the alarm mode, so it must be mounted in a place inaccessible to criminals. The button can be hidden under the standard wiring harnesses and masked with electrical tape.
  5. Installation of limit switches. The kit includes 1 controller, which is equipped with the hood or trunk. The remaining switches will have to be purchased separately. To install the parts, holes are drilled on the doors, after which the decorative trims and handles are removed.
  6. Installing an engine blocker. The device is embedded in the ignition switch block.
  7. Installation of the sensitivity sensor. The part is installed in the middle part of the body. The wiring is routed through holes in the partition separating the engine compartment from the passenger compartment. After installation, adjust the sensitivity of the sensor.

The system components are connected to the head unit and power source according to the diagrams attached to the instructions. All power circuits are equipped with fuses of the appropriate rating. After connecting the cables, you need to check the functionality of the car alarm.

At the moment, systems of the Logicar families (except for series with the suffix i, but not iS!) and Magicar (up to the 13th model) are not considered crypto-resistant, which is confirmed by both theft statistics and tests of independent publications. In the case of a typical installation, if the owner (like most of them) does not bother to read the operating instructions, the resistance of the alarm to hacking is reduced catastrophically, since without the user specifying a PIN code for disabling the alarm, the thief can disable the alarm mode by two presses of the Valet button, which the creators of Scher-Khan persistently place it in the most visible place - in the LED module.

In Slave mode, outdated Scher-Khan systems do not have additional validation, that is, if the code of the standard radio key fob is cracked, they are completely deactivated, without checking the eligibility of access to the car.

A common problem with Scher-Khan systems that does not allow the implementation of full-fledged anti-theft systems on their basis is the extreme primitiveness of the start-up interlock mechanism: the installer has at his disposal only one built-in interlock relay (absent on a number of systems) and an additional low-current output to an external relay. The ability to assemble modular complexes, connect wireless blocking relays, or indirectly block the start via the CAN bus is not available in current Scher-Khan systems.

In addition to the ease of deciphering the code message, which the proprietary Magic Code communication protocol of all generations suffers from, it also has a proprietary flaw that is very familiar to owners of Logicar 1-3 alarms - the central alarm unit often loses synchronization with the key fob, ceasing to perceive commands coming from it.

Using the example of the Logicar 1 system, which appears most often in customer requests:

  1. Disarm the car and turn on the ignition.
  2. Briefly press the “Valet” button on the LED indicator housing, then hold it until the LED switches to constant lighting mode.
  3. Press button 1 on each key fob in the kit one by one; the command entry should be confirmed by the blinking of the LED.
  4. Wait 5 seconds or turn off the ignition.

It must be remembered that in the process of programming key fobs, previously stored ones are erased, so you need to register both the main one (which usually loses synchronization) and the additional one at a time.

Protect yourself from robbery

When using the alarm models listed here, the owner will be able to increase the level of privacy used by the system. You can activate two-step disarming: pressing the “1” key leads to arming, while to disarm it you need to know the code. The PIN code is entered by pressing keys, typing two or four digits in succession. The option in question is also provided in the Scher Khan Logicar 3 systems produced in recent years. How to activate two-step protection

By default, the Scher Khan Magicar 3 system does not use two-step disarming. To use this option, activate it:

  1. Disarm the car, turn off the ignition, turn off the “Hands-free” mode (see above);
  2. Press buttons “1” and “4”, hold them for 2 seconds;
  3. A short signal from the “dimensions” and a siren will follow;
  4. Press the "4" button 6 times;
  5. Wait 4-5 seconds, 6 signals will follow;
  6. To use a 4-digit code during operation, press the “2” key, and if you need a two-digit code, press the “3” key;
  7. Two or three signals will follow.

The entire sequence above will need to be repeated. In the fourth step, you will press the key not 6, but 9 times. In the sixth step, press the “2” button, thereby activating the protection. It remains to change the code value, which by default is “1111”.

The instruction manual supplied with the Magikar systems contains several links to a page where one control sequence is given. Performing the actions specified in it will allow you to change the code:

  1. Disarm the car, turn off the ignition;
  2. Press buttons “3” and “4”, hold them for 2 seconds;
  3. A single signal should follow;
  4. Press the key fob corresponding to the first digit;
  5. After you hear the confirmation beeps, repeat Step 4 for the remaining numbers.

Setting the secret code in Scher Khan Logicar 3 systems is performed in the same way: you need to open the door, turn on the ignition and go to “step 2” indicated in the list below. The top list is suitable for Logicar without changes, but option numbered “6” is replaced there by “option 8”:

Let's say option “6” or “8” is in the “factory” value, and two-step protection is activated. Then, in order to disarm the car during operation, the “2” key must be pressed twice.

Disarming without a key fob

Modern equipment is equipped with a Valet button, the presence of which will allow you to disable the security mode when the key fob is lost. For the Scher Khan Magicar 3 signaling, everything looks simpler: within 4 seconds, turn the ignition on and off three times, and the system activates the “Valet” mode. If you have a key fob, then press the “1-3” keys, which will disable the “Valet” mode and disarm the car.

Cars protected by a Scher Khan Logicar 3 alarm system are no more difficult to disarm: turn on the ignition, press the Valet button, first for a long time, then briefly. But if you set a PIN code, the system will not allow you to disable the security until it receives the correct value. This is also true for the Magikar family of signals. The instructions for them say the following:

  1. If option "6" is set to "2" or "3", first perform the steps required to disarm without using a code;
  2. After the “dimensions” flash, turn the key to dial the value of the first digit;
  3. Repeat “step 2” to enter the second digit;
  4. If the code was four-digit, enter each digit by analogy with “step 2”.

As a result, the system will switch to “Valet” mode, in which you can drive the car, use the central locking, etc.

Whatever alarm you use, always set a secret code. It is enough to enable option “6”, set the required value, and the car will receive additional protection. For Scher Khan Logicar 3 systems, use option “8”. By the way, even a two-digit code has 16 options. No one will go through them.

How to install?

The installation procedure is as follows:

  1. Assemble all the alarm elements without installing them on the car. In accordance with the diagram, connect the components of the complex to the control unit, and then connect it to the battery. This is done to check the signaling. Having connected the system to the battery, activate and disable the protective function, check the main options. If everything is in order, we proceed to the next stage.
  2. Disconnect the car's power supply. The installation of the security system is carried out with the on-board network turned off. Turn off the ignition and open the hood, use a wrench to loosen the alligator clip on the battery, and then disconnect it.
  3. Install the control module. A criminal should not have access to it, so the unit is installed in a place hidden from the criminal. You can install the device behind the dashboard. We do not recommend installing a unit under the center console; this is the place criminals check first when breaking into a car. To install the module behind the dashboard, dismantle the trim on the steering column and unscrew the screws securing the control panel. Disconnect the wire connectors from it. In the free space, place the block and lock it in place. You can wrap the device with foam rubber to prevent it from being exposed to vibrations while the car is moving. The unit is attached to the car body or center console using self-tapping screws.
  4. A siren is being installed under the hood. It is also advisable to place it in a hidden place. We recommend pointing the device's horn downwards or in the direction of travel of the car. The siren should not be installed in close proximity to the motor, since exposure to high temperatures will damage it.
  5. Install the Valet service button. It can be used to activate emergency mode and emergency shutdown of the alarm. Therefore, it must be installed in a hidden place. You can disguise the button in the standard wiring by fixing it on the electrical circuit and wrapping it with electrical tape.
  6. Install limit switches. The kit includes only one limit switch, so it can be installed on the hood or trunk lid. The remaining switches must be purchased additionally. To install them on the doors, you will have to make holes if they are not provided by the manufacturer. To do this, use a drill with a cutter. To install the switches, it is necessary to remove the door trim, handles and speakers.
  7. Remove the ignition switch trim and install the engine lock relay. The device is connected in accordance with the diagram.
  8. The sensitivity sensor is installed inside the car. For installation, it is advisable to choose a location in the central part of the body. You can use a partition separating the car interior and the engine compartment. This device will be responsible for the timely operation of the siren, so setting its reaction is important for the complex as a whole. After installation and connection, adjust the operation of the controller.
