wear resistance on the stand (analogous to a year's mileage on a real car);
resistance to UV radiation (100 hours);
heat resistance (at +65 and -45 ° C);
quality of glass cleaning on a real car after laboratory tests.
Frame or frameless, which is better to choose?
The consumer has always been faced with the question: which wipers to buy - framed or frameless. Both types have their pros and cons. Let's look at which windshield wiper blades fit the size of the Lada Granta, indicate the article numbers and manufacturers. This will help when choosing, so as not to make a mistake by a couple of extra centimeters.
Review of frameless wipers on Lada Granta
Let's start with frameless ones:
- Bosch (3397118907). This company produces windshield wiper blades for many cars. For Lada Grants, they are available in lengths of 600 and 400 mm. Like the entire line, they clean very well, are durable and do not scratch the glass surface. This product is manufactured in Belgium.

- Horse is a domestically produced windshield wiper for the Lada Granta, the size of which is 600 and 410 mm, which is completely suitable. There is one caveat: to install them on a car you will have to use an adapter for a hook.

Frame options:
- Bosch (3397004673, 3397004667). This is an inexpensive substitute for the frameless option from a world famous brand. They run well, don't creak and last quite a long time.
- Bosch (3397010297). This is another inexpensive option for brushes, where a pair is already combined in one package, 60 and 40 cm long.
- Champion (A60/B01, A41/B01). They have a metal frame and are considered a premium class among frame wipers.
There is also a third option for windshield wiper blades on Granta - these are hybrid ones. They are manufactured by Denso (060L, 040L). These are frame wipers that are covered with an aerodynamic casing. The pricing policy for such brushes is average between frame and frameless, so they are considered more affordable. In terms of technical qualities, they are in no way inferior to frameless brushes.

You do not need any special tool for this operation. Everything is done literally by hand and without unnecessary fuss. All you need to do is buy new ones that fit your car. Please note that the right and left wipers are often not the same length.
The brush replacement procedure itself is performed in a few simple steps:
- The windshield wiper arm is moved away from the windshield to a vertical position. Hold the lever carefully, otherwise it may hit the glass sharply and damage it. First step of replacement. The 'wiper' is installed perpendicular to the glass
- Open the plastic cover of the brush holder. Hold the holder with one hand and pull the brush down. Remove the cap from the wiper
- Take a new brush, put it on the holder and close the cap. Pull the brush upward. The wiper is installed. You can repeat the operation on another windshield wiper. Pull the blade down towards you and remove

And advertising of new products does not hesitate to castigate those design elements that were presented as cutting-edge just yesterday: they say, how did they even go with it?
So which “janitor crew” should you prefer? Newfangled hybrid or familiar frameless? Bosch or Denso? More expensive or cheaper? As a result, we decided to hold a professional skills competition. The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant volunteered to help us: it has a couple of stands for life testing of brushes - you can drive it for at least a year. But we limited the test period to four months: this roughly corresponds to a year’s mileage on a live car.
Each pair of windshield wipers was bought in triplicate - just like in Gaidaev’s comedy. The first - on the stand, the second - in the thermal chamber, the third - on the car for comparison: it was and is now.
Common Mistake
When selecting the size of wipers for the Lada-Granta, it is worth considering many nuances. This also applies to the speed at which the car will move. For example, frameless brushes work well at speeds up to 60 km/h; they can also be used at 80 km/h. If the speed is higher, they will not fit tightly to the glass, and accordingly, it will be difficult to clean the windshield. Outwardly, they will look great, and when you gain speed they will simply “take off.”

They are equipped with frame brushes: 410 mm on the right side and 600 mm on the driver’s side. The standard “Hook” fastening is used, its other names are “Hook” or “J-Hook”, also simply “J” or “U”. Replacement wiper blades must match the numbers and mounting type shown here. Usually a brush 400 mm long is installed on the right side, and this is correct. There are other tricks that also need to be taken into account.

How to set it up
The clock in the VAZ-2190 car is located on the liquid crystal display on the dashboard. The clock numbers are much larger than all the other numbers on the screen. In addition to the time, the display also displays the vehicle's daily and total mileage, fuel consumption and other data.
So, how to set the clock on the Lada Granta? To correctly set the clock on the new VAZ liftback model, you must clearly know where the following controls are located in the car:
- ignition switch - or, alternatively, side light switch on the dashboard;
- display control button (daily mileage reset button);
- windshield wiper control lever (right steering column switch).
The right steering column switch, in addition to all other functions, should scroll through the display operating modes in a circle, displaying information about the car's mileage, fuel consumption and the current time.
