LEDs have polarity, so if after installation the diode does not light up, you need to change the polarity of its power supply by simply turning the LED over.

Useful information: I also cannot help but note the negative aspects. So, if your car has a function for monitoring the serviceability of side light lamps and brake lights (injector, high panel), the burnt-out lamp indicator will always remind the owner of the malfunction. The fact is that the LED consumes much less current than an incandescent lamp, and the lamp health monitoring relay (RLIL), having detected too low a current in the lamp power circuit, informs the driver about the breakage of the incandescent lamp filament by igniting the corresponding lamp on the instrument panel, or by beeping the on-board control systems (BSK) on cars with Europanel.

Also, a white LED, installed instead of a standard lamp in the head marker lights, does not emit absolutely white light, but often has a shade of blue, lilac, violet, which can raise questions from a traffic inspector on the road. Go prove to him that the color meets the standards. You may prove it, but you will waste time. In general, decide for yourself.

For those who are comfortable with a soldering iron, you can solve the problem of the warning lamp of the relay monitoring the health of the lamps when installing LEDs in the front dimensions by modifying this relay. It is necessary to unsolder the wire resistances (see pictures below), and instead of them solder resistors with a nominal value of 2...3 Ohms, with a dissipation power of 3 W. With this modification, this relay retains its functionality, and if the LED fails, it works as expected, lighting the warning lamp on the instrument panel. Similarly, you can modify this relay to install LED lamps in the rear marker lights.

If you install multi-element LEDs in the front dimensions, which resemble grenades in appearance, consisting of several emitting modules that shine in different directions 360 degrees, you can achieve a fairly bright glow of the headlights (as in the photo below), in the dark you can even park with them light.

Comparison of xenon and diode headlights

The design of an LED headlight is even more common than that of a xenon headlight, therefore, in addition to other advantages, a low price is added. Xenon lamps are an advantage of business class cars, and despite the highest light emission properties, their service is very expensive. Just look at the cost of a separate ignition unit and control unit! In addition, switched on xenon headlights consume a cyclopean amount of energy - switched on at full power, they can drain the battery in just a few hours.

LED headlights have record low energy consumption. In addition, they are easy to install, they are lightweight and take up little space. A VAZ-2109 with diode headlights may not need to be serviced for 10-15 years. In addition to all the above advantages, LED headlights operate even faster than others. What kind of lamps are in the headlights of the VAZ 2109

The incandescent lamps in the front headlight unit of VAZ 2108-2109 cars are changed quite simply, and to complete this procedure you will only need a few minutes of time, as well as pliers or a thin flat-head screwdriver. Of course, in most cases you can do everything with your bare hands, but it’s still worth keeping in mind that a lamp of oversized dimensions can sit quite tightly in its place.

So, first of all, you need to open the hood of the car and open the protective cover of the VAZ 2109-2108 headlight unit from the inside, as is clearly shown in the photo below:

Reasons for failure

What are the reasons that the headlight does not light up:
