For example, in the memory of the control unit it can be written that at a throttle opening angle of 5% and a speed of 5000 RPM, keep the injector valve open (inject fuel) for 2 ms. Similar values ​​are written in the control unit for all throttle opening angles and for all revolutions with a given sampling step.

The fuel map values ​​are selected by the factory for the first production prototypes, after which the same fuel map with the same values ​​is loaded into all control units.

Unfortunately, even in modern high-precision production there are errors. Just as no two people are alike, you can’t find two identical motors, and not a single completely identical motor comes off the production line. Out of 20 engines, all 20 will have variations in power in different rpm ranges, however, all 20 engines will receive the same fuel map loaded by the factory, which is obviously not optimal.

The operation of the injector control unit, which adjusts the fuel map for the engine, is based on correcting the factory error. The operator, using a special stand for measuring power and a gas analyzer, can enter fuel map corrections into the injector control unit at all throttle opening angles. To date, not a single injection motorcycle is capable of adjusting fuel maps on the go. Having received data from an external source, the control unit itself corrects the fuel maps loaded by the factory. Let's figure out why this happens. Consider a motorcycle with a full exhaust. There is an opinion that the injector control unit increases power. This is true. But it adds power precisely in the rpm ranges where your theoretical fuel map loaded by the factory has the greatest deviations from reality - and this can be any rpm 1-2 thousand before the red zone. At speeds close to maximum, your injectors are almost always open, and in this zone the Japanese engine always operates almost 100% optimally. Factory errors do not play a noticeable role at speeds close to maximum, so none of the injector control units will add peak power to you. There is an attractive idea of ​​adjusting fuel maps while the motorcycle is moving. Unfortunately, as of 03/07/13 there is no working practical implementation of this idea.
