The topic is open to those who are looking on the Internet for information about the technical characteristics of the Bosch fuel pump for the VAZ 2110. If you were looking for information about the fuel pumps for the VAZ 2110 Bosch, then this is an incorrect request.
Fuel pumps most often mean high-pressure fuel pumps, also known as injection pumps, and this is closer to diesel fuel systems. Gasoline engines have fuel pumps - mechanical and electric.
On the VAZ 2110, the Bosch electric fuel pump is probably the most popular fuel pump, because it has a relatively low price and universal dimensions, as well as availability in most stores.
Let's look at the following topics:
Fuel pump VAZ 2110 Bosch performance/pressure
Characteristics of Bosch fuel pumps and specifically the Bosch fuel pump 0580453453
What should the pump power be?
ATTENTION! A completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption has been found! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also didn’t believe it until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline! Read more"
Of course this is not true. Let's say there are two different cars. One has a 3.5 liter engine, the other has a 1.6 liter engine. In addition to the difference in volume, the engines also differ in the number of cylinders. One installation has six cylinders, the other has four. Question: Do the pumps require the same performance to supply both units with fuel fluid?
It is clear that the pressure and performance of the superchargers installed on these machines will be different. Even if the pumps are similar in appearance, their power will not be the same. That’s what it says on them: on one device – 3.8 bar at 90 liters per hour, on the other – 2.8 bar at 60 liters per hour.
There are known types of fuel pumps with even greater performance. For example, in the Bosch catalog there are devices capable of pumping 160 liters per hour or even more.
In general, it is generally accepted as follows:
- on pumping devices in which the pressure is not standardized (used for single injection) - about 1 bar;
- on pumps for electronic injection - 3-4 bar;
- on mechanical injectors - 6 bar.
There is also an opinion that for fuel backflow systems there should be a productivity of at least 2 liters per minute.
The performance of the pump depends solely on the car model. The unit simply must be able to provide the required pressure and productivity. So, if the car reaches its maximum speed (let’s say 320 km/h), it will consume about 40 liters of liquid per hundred kilometers. Using simple mathematical calculations we get 120 liters/hour. And a unit with less productivity will no longer be practical here.
For the most part, a pump is installed on cars taking into account the fact that it will provide a reserve and exceed the optimal calculated consumption by 60-70%. This is a prerequisite, otherwise the problem will not be long in coming. And if you use a unit with similar characteristics on different engines, then this reserve will not be provided, the power plant will begin to detonate, etc.
We are talking about pumps that provide normal pressure. The injection pump has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Pumps and injectors from Bosch: tables
The most famous manufacturer today. Pumps from Bosch are installed on many well-known car models.
The electric fuel pump from Bosch uses a high power rating, which allows it to push fuel directly onto the injectors and into the power plant. The operation of this fuel supercharger is controlled electronically. It calculates the state of the damper, exhaust and takes into account the amount of gasoline in the fuel assembly completely in AUTO mode.
It is noteworthy that Bosch develops unique pumps for this or that brand of car. For example, for our VAZs, units with a capacity of 3 or 3.8 bar are produced. These figures are higher than those provided for by the car, however, many owners install just this option. The Bosch pump in no way affects the increase in fuel consumption, as some believe. On the contrary, fuel consumption is caused by a situation when optimal pressure is not created in the ramp, and as a result, the injectors do not function correctly - they do not spray gasoline, but simply pour it.
Thus, Bosch pumps can have different performance data. It all depends on the specific analogue. Read more in the table, which shows the types of fuel pumps by model.

On injection engines, in addition to the pump performance, it is customary to talk about the performance of the injectors. This means their maximum possible throughput when open. In other words, over what period of time the nozzle is capable of supplying the maximum amount of fuel is this very parameter.
As a rule, most manufacturers, including Bosch, Siemens, Denso and Delphi, provide injector sizes in their catalogs according to Western standards, i.e., in f/h.
Here, for example, are the parameters of Bosch injectors according to the catalogue.

The article will be of interest to those who are looking for information about the technical characteristics and performance of the VAZ 2110 gasoline pump. Gasoline engines can be equipped with electrical or mechanical devices. For the VAZ 2110 car, the electric fuel pump of the Bosch brand is the most popular, as it has universal sizes, is always available in stores and is inexpensive.
Main characteristics of the Bosch model
The VAZ 2110 gasoline pump has a performance in the range of 3-3.8 bar.
For each type of fuel system, the manufacturer produces a separate device. Many car enthusiasts replace a broken mechanism with a Bosch model with high pressure. The pressure of the VAZ 2110 fuel pump does not affect consumption, because the cars are equipped with a return line and excess fuel is returned to the tank. There is also a fuel pressure regulator. Fuel consumption may increase if the rail is not at optimal pressure. After which the nozzles do not spray, but pour gasoline, which does not have time to burn.
Examination
If you have any doubts about the functionality of the device, you should simply check the pressure on the ramp. It must be at least 2.8 atmospheres. Only in this way can the power system ensure the correct supply of fuel to the combustion chamber. Correct, meaning uniform, dosed and with optimal torch geometry. If it is less than 2.8 atmospheres, fuel consumption may increase. This is due to the fact that the nozzle is not able to form a torch, but simply pours liquid into the chamber. where it doesn't burn out. Hence the instability of work.
Buy only the right fuel pumps, and then a dozen won’t ruin their owners with the expense. Happy travels to everyone!
Parameters of the Bosch model 0580453453
If you are interested in a VAZ 2110 Bosch fuel pump, the characteristics of the models will differ in the length and sometimes in the diameter of the body. The diameter of the body is adjusted using a gasket made of gas-resistant rubber. Also, devices may differ in pressure, placement of chips on the terminals. The device grid does not differ in the number of seats, but may vary in shape. You can remake the chip for a terminal or install it from a VAZ car. The length of the fuel pump determines its performance when the volume of fuel in the tank is low. If it is located in a module, then compliance is required to install it. The length of the Bosch model 0580453453 is 105 mm, 0580453449 is 65 mm, and for Bosch 0580453465 this figure is 90 mm. The pump is located in the car tank, it is immersed in fuel. It contains an electric motor that drives the pumping element. A combination of these components supplies fuel under high pressure. As a result, the fuel pump is noisy and needs cooling. Therefore, the equipment is immersed in a tank of fuel, as it serves as a coolant and noise-insulating compound.
Product selection
AvtoVAZ offers an original fuel pump for 4,000 rubles. The original catalog number is 2112-1139009 . But many car enthusiasts buy and install cheaper analogues instead of the original.
Analogs

A non-original part is often no different in quality from the original. So, if the vehicle owner wants to save money, then you can install a non-original part. Let's consider the main offers of analogue companies:
- Fenox EFM33006O7 - the cost of such a part will be about 3,000 rubles.
- Bosch 0 560 454 035 - as they say, I took BOSCH, and ... (go ahead).
- Ween 192-0262 – the price on the spare parts market will be approximately 3,000 rubles.
- Pekar 2112-1139009 - will cost a little more than the previous two, the average price is 3,500 rubles.
- ATS 53453 - they praise, but the price tag is good. We know they put one like this as a replacement for expensive originals on Peugeot.

How to buy a quality device?
The price for a VAZ 2110 fuel pump in market conditions will be 2 times lower than in a specialized store. The equipment is in durable and sealed packaging. Inside the package is purified gasoline. If you smell gasoline, then the seal of the packaging is broken and there is a possibility of corrosion forming inside the gasoline pump. Submerged equipment is lubricated and cooled by fuel. When using low-quality additives and gasoline, internal electrical mechanisms are corroded. If additional substances are not used in the operation of the device (dry), then the brushes wear off and it overheats. The service life of the equipment is longer. Some car owners are planning to replace the VAZ 2110 Bosch fuel pump, the characteristics and pressure of which are not normal only due to long-term use. Its pressure can be 6-7 atmospheres. It was amazing to hear from an experienced driver his method for testing the fuel pump. To do this, he took a jar of water, turned it on on the battery, and by the flow of liquid he realized that the power of the gas pump had decreased.
Tips and tricks
If it is necessary to replace the VAZ 2110 pump or after removing the pump for preventative replacement/cleaning of the mesh, after completing the reassembly and installation of the pump, do not immediately install the rear sofa and the pump cover.
Additional verification will be required before doing this. To do this, you need to turn on the ignition and determine whether gasoline is leaking from the fuel pipes. Also, the smell of gasoline in the car interior, etc. is not allowed. If this is the case, then you need to determine the cause of the leak and replace the problematic elements, tighten the tube nuts, etc.
To make the selection accurate, the existing module must be removed from the car and purchased a similar one. Also, when choosing, you need to take into account the type of engine, since the pumps are different. Before purchasing, the fuel pump itself should also be inspected, its housing should be checked (cracks, dents, and defects are not allowed).
Electric type fuel pump
The fuel pump for VAZ 2110 is an electric injector and is installed in cars with an adjustable injection system. The “tens” electric fuel pump is located in the fuel pipeline system in the vehicle’s gas tank. This dislocation of the element greatly reduces the possibility of fuel loss due to the use of a scheme without the participation of pipelines that work to suck in fuel.
This element of the fuel supply system includes:
- EDH;
- a pump, the body of which is made of metal;
- fuel level sensor;
- fuel intake component;
- filter mesh;
- check valves and pressure reducing valves.
The valve of the reverse principle of action stops the fuel distribution complex when the power plant is stopped. A pressure-reducing element controls pressure by acting as a bypass valve.
The designs of electric fuel pumps are:
- roller type;
- gear type;
- centrifugal type.
An electric roller pump sucks in fuel and drives it through the functionality of the rotor element and the movement of special purpose rollers. The gear electric pump sucks in fuel and drives it through and is pumped by moving an internal gear relative to the stator element, which plays the role of an external gear. When a rotational type rotor moves, the side elements of the tooth create a chamber in their segments that changes the degree of rarefaction, with the help of which the effect of suction and supply of fuel is created.
At the same time, a centrifugal type fuel pump is mounted directly in the fuel line. Such elements make it possible to ensure an even supply of fuel and operate almost silently. They have one significant feature - a limit on pressure parameters and functionality.
Where is he located?
This device is located in the fuel line or in the fuel tank. Thanks to this placement, the risk of losses is significantly reduced due to the absence of suction lines.
The design of the electric pump assumes the presence of the following elements:
- Electric motor.
- Pump housed in a metal casing.
In other words, this device consists of an electric drive and a pump part. All its components are in direct contact with the fuel. In addition to the above elements, the module of this device also includes a fuel flow sensor, a fuel intake and a strainer.
And the part we are considering operates due to the presence of two valves - a check valve and a pressure reducer. The first locks the system when the engine stops operating. The second one performs the function of maintaining pressure in the system, while part of the fuel is transferred back to the inlet.
There are several types of electric pumps based on their design:
Selecting a pump for supplying fuel to a VAZ 2110
Despite the reliability of the element, the fuel pump sometimes becomes faulty. As a rule, the defect consists of failure of the electric pump brushes. The choice of a fuel pump is carried out according to the following criteria: reliability and quiet operation, because the quieter the pump operates, the more comfortable it is to use.
When choosing a fuel pump, you must purchase the same product with the same part number. Often, among many analogues, car enthusiasts highlight the Bosch fuel pump, which is used on 1.6-liter cars and is equipped with a fuel level pressure regulator.
How to check the pressure in the fuel rail yourself
Welcome, friends, to the DIY auto repair website. The task of the fuel system is high-quality, timely and complete supply of gasoline to the engine, as well as storage and purification of fuel.
Checking the fuel rail pressure
Structurally, the system consists of a fuel filter, injection system, fuel pump, tank and other elements connected by conductors.
In this case, the main function is performed by the fuel pump - it creates the necessary pressure in the fuel rail. If it decreases, serious malfunctions in engine operation are possible.
Symptoms of a problem
As a rule, checking the pressure in the fuel rail is required in the following cases:
- If malfunctions occur in the operation of the power unit at XX. In such a situation, the car may stall at the most unpredictable moment (even at a traffic light);
- the motor begins to stall, obvious instability appears in its operation;
- Significant excessive consumption of gasoline is noticeable. Consumption can generally increase by 30-50%;
- the volume of carbon monoxide in the exhaust increases.
Diagnosis of the causes of malfunctions and replacement of the VAZ 2110 fuel pump
A fuel pump is essentially an electric motor that sits in a vehicle's fuel tank and pumps and delivers fuel to the injectors for injection into the combustion chamber at high pressure.
As a component and part of a car, the fuel pump is one of the important and finicky components of the car. With its help, fuel is supplied to the injector.
If used incorrectly, failure of this part can lead to consequences ranging from inoperability of the fuel system (especially during a long trip) to costly repairs of the entire engine power system.
Fuel pump VAZ 2110
Electrical analogues
What's so special about this fuel pump? The VAZ-2110 (injector) is equipped with just such devices in the fuel system. The electric pump is used on gasoline engines with distributed fuel injection. In turbodiesel and diesel engines, this element is used in the low-pressure circuit to preliminary circulate fuel to the high-pressure pump. By the way, electric pumps on gasoline engines with direct injection of Common Rail fuel operate on the same principle. The electric mechanism creates a pressure of about 0.3 MPa (in power plants with direct injection - about 0.7 MPa). The use of mechanical pumps in such systems is not recommended due to the low pressure when supplying gasoline.
Causes of malfunction
The main causes of malfunctions of the VAZ 2110 fuel pump are the low quality of the fuel being filled, low fuel supply pressure, the regular presence of a small amount of gasoline (less than 5 liters) in the fuel tank and improper operation when starting the engine - before starting the engine, you must wait after turning on the ignition 2-4 seconds to pump fuel into the engine power system.
It is also possible that the fuel pump as a part will naturally fail, depending on the mileage of 150 - 200 thousand km. or for a period of 4-5 years, but again this malfunction depends on the operating conditions of the car itself.
Usually the factory fuel pump is replaced with a BOSCH one.
There are secondary malfunctions of the VAZ 2110 fuel pump failure - failure of the relay, blown power fuse, they are located in the fuse mounting block either under the hood or in the lower left part of the dashboard, front console, depending on the engine modification, and contamination of the fine filter mesh fuel cleaning (located directly on the fuel pump).
These faults can be fixed relatively quickly and without large financial investments. Fuel pump repairs are performed quite rarely, and the cost of repairs relative to the cost of the pump is insignificant.
Reasons for failure
In principle, he does not have a specific resource, and his condition is judged by the pressure that he creates. The main reason for failure is gasoline of unsatisfactory quality, the main fuel at our gas stations. Mechanical impurities, which must be carefully filtered out during the production process, enter the tank, and from there, everything that is not left on the coarse filter mesh goes straight into the precise pump mechanism, which causes its rapid breakdown. Therefore, it is worth replacing this very mesh from time to time, although this is not provided for in the maintenance regulations.
Troubleshooting
The main symptoms of a malfunction of the VAZ 2110 fuel pump are engine interruptions in various operating modes, lack of pressure in the fuel system, loss of acceleration dynamics, increased fuel consumption, or complete failure when trying to start the engine.
The first step is to check the functionality of the pump. When you turn on the ignition, you should hear a slight whirring sound from the pump under the rear seat for a few seconds.
If the engine is running, it is necessary to check the fuel supply pressure using a pressure gauge; the fuel supply pressure to the injector should be 3.5 - 4 atmospheres. If the sound of the fuel pump is not heard, if you have an electrical tester, you can check whether power is being supplied to the pump.
To do this, you need to remove the back seat of the VAZ 2110, the decorative cover, and the terminal from the fuel pump housing, turn on the key to crank the starter, if the tester does not receive power, you need to check the relay, fuse or wiring trace for a break! If there is power, the fuel pump needs to be replaced.
The serviceability of the relay can be checked by replacing it with a working one from the fuse box, for example the high beam headlight relay. When replacing a new relay, you need to pay attention to the manufacturer and the recommendations of a spare parts specialist in the store; it is better not to save on the cost of the relay.
Replacing a fuel pump with a new one requires careful selection of the manufacturer; each pump has its own performance. The absolute leader in this area is BOSCH.
To replace or remove for repair the VAZ 2110 fuel pump we will need: a 17mm wrench, depending on the modification, a 10mm socket, pliers, a flat screwdriver. We remove the rear seat, it is advisable to unscrew the gas tank cap to relieve excess pressure in the system. Disconnect the plastic pump power terminal.
Depending on the modification, we remove the fuel supply and return hoses, or, by pressing the spring clip and pulling the hose, disconnect it from the fuel pump housing. In the second option, use a 17mm wrench to unscrew both fittings and disconnect the tubes.
In both cases, it is necessary to disconnect carefully, since the system is under pressure and when disconnected, the pressure will be released from the injector and a small amount of fuel will leak. If the performance of the old fuel pump is small, there will be no pressure in the system.
Unscrew the 8 nuts from the studs using a 10mm socket and remove the retaining ring with the seal. Carefully pull out the VAZ 2110 fuel pump housing at a slight angle so as not to damage the fuel level sensor; repairing it is unlikely. Using a screwdriver and pliers, remove the lower part of the fuel pump housing and remove the connectors and hoses from the pump. We dismantle the pump.
Assembly is carried out in reverse order. By the way, the original BOSCH fuel pump comes with a mesh. The new fuel pump has high performance, so after replacing it, when you turn on the ignition several times, there will be extraneous sounds when the system is pumped.
Mechanical replacement
If you find problems with the fuel pump, you can try to repair it yourself, or replace it with a new one. In the first case, it is better to buy a repair kit. It includes all the elements of the device that can fail: valves, gaskets, diaphragms and pusher.
If you decide to replace the pump assembly, it is even easier.
After dismantling the faulty device, you need to:
- Install new gaskets and pusher.
- Place the pump in place and secure it with nuts.
- Connect the fuel line hoses and secure them with clamps.
- Press the manual primer lever several times to fill the pump with fuel.
- Start the engine and check its operation.

Characteristics of the Bosch VAZ 2110 fuel pump (pressure and performance)
Centrifugal
Due to their design features, these two pumps are installed directly in the fuel line. Today's injection devices use centrifugal-type mechanisms. Such pumps provide a uniform supply of gasoline and practically do not make any noise. But they have their limitations in terms of pressure and performance.
The condition and serviceability of the fuel pump affects the stability of the engine, fuel consumption, and engine starting. It is important to constantly monitor his condition. The VAZ 2110 fuel pump module has a list of typical faults characteristic of parts of this type.
Bosch fuel pump performance - from 3 to 3.8 bar
The manufacturer Bosch produces its own fuel pump for each type of fuel system. Why, after the original fuel pump fails, do people install a Bosch fuel pump from a VAZ 2110? How does the pressure and performance of the fuel pump compare with the original one? If you put it with high pressure, will the flow rate increase?
Consumption does not increase due to the performance of the fuel pump, since on cars the return line is activated and excess fuel is returned to the tank, there is also a fuel pressure regulator, from the name it is clear, I think what function it performs.
Consequently, there was a 2.8 bar pump, they installed a Bosch VAZ 2110 fuel pump with 3.8 bar and it will only get better. Fuel consumption may increase if the fuel pump does not create sufficient pressure in the rail and the injectors begin to pour gasoline, which does not burn, rather than spray.
Design and operating principle
When it comes to talking about dozens of fuel pumps, you need to understand that the fuel module and pump are separate units. Therefore, replacing the entire module if the pump or its electric motor fails is impractical. The module consists of a plastic housing that contains both the pump itself and the fuel level sensor in the tank.
It is made in the form of a glass, and access to the module opens from under the rear seat if you remove the plastic casing. The module has terminal contacts through which 12 V power is supplied.
This is a submersible type device with a simple design. It consists of an electric motor and a pump, the rotor of which is located on the same shaft as the rotor of the electric motor. Can only work under conditions of constant immersion in gasoline. It has no other sources of lubrication, and when operating in dry mode it instantly fails. In addition to the lubrication function, it also has a cooling effect, so running the mechanism dry is strictly prohibited.
Characteristics of the Bosch fuel pump 0580453453
Especially for my readers, I got confused and measured the fuel pump that is on my display case. In fact, the characteristics of Bosch gasoline pumps differ in the length and very rarely in the diameter of the body. Why? The diameter of the body can be adjusted using a gasket made of petrol-resistant rubber.
Most often, the characteristics of fuel pumps (not only Bosch, but also from other manufacturers) may differ in length, pressure, location of terminal chips and that’s it :). The fuel pump mesh does not differ in seating, but it may differ in shape.
The chip for the terminal can be remade or supplied from the same VAZ. The length of the fuel pump is important, since its operation depends on this when the fuel level in the tank is low, and if it is in the module, then you need a match to install it.
- Bosch fuel pump 0580453453 - 105 mm
- Bosch fuel pump 0580453449 - 65 mm
- Bosch fuel pump 0580453465 - 90 mm
Roller
This device sucks in gasoline and pumps it through the operation of the rotor and the movement of special rollers. When the space between these two parts increases, a vacuum is created. Thanks to this, the fuel fills all the empty space. When it is completely filled, the gasoline supply stops. As the rotor rotates, this space gradually decreases and at some point the inlet port opens. The fuel leaves the pump under pressure.
