16. Tighten the lower mount of the rack.

17. We take another jack and lift the beam with the stand to the top until the rod in the glass comes out to tighten it. Another option is to simply guide the rod with a wire and gradually lower the car from the jack. but in my opinion it’s better to use another jack.

18. We tighten the upper fastening by installing the rubber seal and washer and tighten everything with a nut on top.

20. We remove the car from the house (pyramid)

The second method is more labor-intensive, but allows you not to touch the camber bolts. Using this method, you will have to remove the strut assembly with the steering knuckle. To do this, unscrew the front hub nut, the front brake caliper and unscrew the ball joint (the steps are the same as when replacing the front wheel bearing). In principle, nothing complicated, you will just have to tinker more and stock up on a strong 30mm head with a wrench and a long pipe (without this it is very difficult to unscrew the front bearing nut).

The third method is generally not for everyone. Suitable for people who don’t want (or are afraid) to disassemble and unwind a lot. But they rely on the strength and dexterity of their hands. This method allows you to replace the upper support without removing the strut from the vehicle. To do this, it is enough to install the couplers on the springs (the lower end of the coupler behind the post, the upper end behind the coil of the spring). Compress the spring. Unscrew the three nuts securing the upper support and lower the strut as low as possible (as far as the suspension arms will allow). He will manage to get the support and install it just as cleverly. Ehhh…. Sorry, but I don’t have photographs of this cunning and dashing method. Because I don't work that way. I consider it both difficult and, most importantly, dangerous. Ties installed this way can fly off and cause injury, and if they come off when the support is unscrewed, it will be, well, the lid! As I said above, this method is not for everyone. I suggest staying with the first option.

4. Place reference marks, unscrew and remove the bolts, and disconnect the strut from the steering knuckle.

5. Unscrew the three nuts securing the upper support (photo 8).

6. Remove the stand and fix it in a vice. We install the spring ties opposite each other and compress the spring until it dangles freely between the upper and lower cups (photo 9).

7. Finally unscrew the shock absorber rod nut, remove the support and install a new one (photo 10).

We carry out the assembly in the reverse order, set the marks, not forgetting to lubricate the camber bolts (for example, with nigrol), since they like to stick, and this is very bad.
