For the Lada 112 car they offered a line of in-line four-cylinder petrol engines, which many are familiar with from the “ten”. At the beginning, the hatchback had a 1.5-liter power plant with a carburetor power system. As a result, the engine developed 73 “horses” and 109 Nm.

However, very quickly this “engine” was changed to eight- and sixteen-valve power units that received multi-point injection. The working volume of such engines was 1.5 - 1.6 liters. The new engines produced 79-90 horsepower and 109-131 Nm of torque. They consume engines from 7.3 - 8 liters in mixed mode.

In essence, the VAZ-2112 engine is a qualitative evolution of the VAZ-2111 power plant, but it has already received a 16-valve gas distribution mechanism instead of eight valves. Among the main differences are the use of 4 valves for each cylinder, 2 camshafts, which helps the engine supply more fuel-air mixture into the combustion chamber at a time and quickly remove exhaust gases into the exhaust system.

Up to 3,000 rpm, the engines function almost equally, but when the needle passes the 3,000 mark, the 16-valve engine shows itself more dynamically. Interestingly, gasoline consumption is lower than with an 8-valve engine (2111). The engine itself (1.5) is injection, in-line and has an overhead camshaft.

The gas distribution mechanism has a belt drive. Many VAZ-2112 owners have experienced a broken timing belt. This is a very unpleasant event, since when the belt breaks, the gas distribution mechanism bends the valve. The new cylinder head has hydraulic compensators, which allows drivers to avoid adjusting valve clearances. In addition, the main bearings have additional oil channels.

Transmission

Together with the power plant of the Lada-2112, a mechanical five-speed gearbox operates. All torque is transmitted only to the front wheels. The first hundred kilometers is reached in 12-14 seconds. The maximum speed limit does not exceed 170-185 kilometers per hour.

Chassis

In technical terms, the domestic hatchback is not much different from the “standard” sedan. The basis was a front-wheel drive “trolley”, which has an independent McPherson-type suspension in front and a semi-independent structure with a torsion beam in the rear. The steering device has a rack and pinion mechanism, and the braking system has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.

Dimensions of VAZ 2110 - length, height, ground clearance

The VAZ 2110 car was produced from 1995 to 2007. This sedan was created on the basis of the Lada 2108 hatchback. The dimensions of the VAZ 2110 differ slightly from the overall dimensions of the 21099 model. In particular, the length of the VAZ 2110 is only 6 cm longer than the length of the only sedan from the Lada Samara model range.

The length of the wheelbase is 3.2 cm longer, the height of the car is 1.8 cm, and the ground clearance of the loaded “ten” is 5 cm higher than that of the ninety-ninth. The front and rear wheel tracks of these sedans are the same. The same engines and gearboxes were installed on both cars.

However, despite all this, the technical characteristics of cars 2110 and 21099 are somewhat different. Despite its greater weight, the VAZ 2110 develops a higher maximum speed and shows better maneuverability thanks to smooth body lines and more advanced control systems. Undoubtedly, the VAZ 2110 is the best car produced at the Volzhsky Automobile Plant in the 90s.

How to make a mass on a VAZ 2110

The body is therefore called the mass (foreground, ground) of the car. If any of the connections to the mass becomes unreliable, miracles begin. The simplest example of this is the blinking of all the lamps in the rear light.

We turn on the turn signal, and it starts blinking with the brake light or reverse light. At the same time, at the required consumer, the voltage is two to three times different from the required 12-14 volts, and at the unnecessary (not turned on), on the contrary, quite sufficient voltage appears for its operation. This is with light bulbs.

What if this starts in the Electronic Engine Control System (ECM)? Then the engine may begin to spontaneously change its operating mode - from gaining high speeds to stalling. I’ll try to describe the places where the loss of a reliable connection to ground is most likely, and the glitches that appear in this case. I ask you to forgive me in advance for the sometimes strange and unusual names of components and car parts, but since I work at a VAZ warranty station, the situation obliges me. I'll start, perhaps, with the Rechargeable Battery (AB). In modern VAZ cars, a double wire comes off the negative terminal of the battery. Its thick part, about the thickness of a little finger, connects the negative battery and the engine.

If the contact of this wire is unreliable, there may be a deterioration in the battery charge, a decrease in the starter rotation speed when starting, as well as problems in the ECM system, since the minus comes to it from the engine, from the studs on which the ignition distributor hung on carburetor vehicles. First of all, you should check the tightness of both nuts, between which the wire tip is attached to the engine. First, loosen the outer nut, tighten the nut under the tip, and then tighten the outer one back.

The thin wire connecting the minus battery and the car body is the main connection for all electricity consumers in the car, and in carburetor modifications also for the engine. You should check the tightness of both the M6 ​​bolt directly on the battery terminal and the M8 nut on the body. The location on the body depends on the make of the vehicle. Family 2108-9 and 13-15 1.5L the mass of the ECM is taken from the engine, from two M6 bolts securing the plug on the right side of the cylinder head.

The ECM weight is taken from two M6 bolts located on the left side of the cylinder head. Family 21114, 21124 1.6L, with new generation Bosch 7.9 controllers.

  5. Distance between reference point on roof and front bumper.

Any damage to the vehicle, annual operation leads to a violation of the geometry of the body. The distances change, deforming the size of the wheelbase, displacing internal parts.

The geometry is violated in the following cases:

  1. Accident. Sometimes it is enough to hit the fence with the bumper.
  2. Frequent driving over potholes, crossing railway tracks at high speed.
  3. Factory defects - bolts not tightened tightly enough.

In the last two cases, 70% of the load is taken by the car's suspension, but the driver is faced with such problems as stretched springs and broken shock absorbers. In this case, the body geometry changes gradually.

After an accident, the body bears 100% of the load, the geometry changes instantly, it is necessary to carry out diagnostics on a slipway in a service station or with a level (possibly in a garage).

In general, sitting at the helm of the Lada-2112 is quite free. However, the steering wheel covers the buttons for lights, fog lights and heated glass. The switches are conveniently located under the steering wheel, so there is no need to reach them. The steering wheel is precisely adjusted in thickness, so it is convenient to use. I would especially like to thank the engineering staff for installing height-adjustable seat belts.

There is enough free space at the feet of the person sitting in front. The factory decided not to spoil the door trim in any way, so it evokes more pleasant emotions than, for example, the hard plastic of the Lada Priora. The presence of a pleasant, fleecy upholstery material and a convenient pocket at the bottom will only please the driver. The rear end can no longer please so much. A passenger sitting on the back sofa of a VAZ 2112 will slightly touch the front seat, but the sofa itself is quite comfortable.

It is two-part (the back is divided into 2 parts). It was “transferred” to the twelfth model from 2111. This made it easier to transport luggage. Speakers were placed near the rear windows. Another difference from the 8th family of cars is the low loading height, which makes loading/unloading luggage much easier.

  1. Once all the drawings are ready and the materials have been selected, you can start working. First you will have to remove moisture from the materials and coat them with a primer. You can paint them right away, or you can leave this step for last.
  2. Now weld the metal corners to the base profile.
  3. Weld the profile (this will be the stand). It is secured with bolts.
  4. Now the chains, hooks and retractable devices are welded.

Frame making

The frame is responsible for fixing the car. Therefore, you need to be careful when creating it.

  1. Before creating the frame, you need to create the outer frame. It is to this that the frame will be mounted.
  2. A metal profile is suitable as a material. A stand and grips are attached to it (they are needed to fix the car threshold).
  3. Now the thresholds are being made. They are created from metal corners.
  4. Thresholds are installed on beams and secured with bolts.
  5. After installation, all elements will have to be secured by welding.

Fastening the body to the slipway

Clamps are required for fastening. If you can't buy them, make your own. You will need railway platforms (what the rails are attached to the sleepers). Each of the platforms is cut in half, and metal is welded onto the inside. It is cut into diamonds using a grinder.

You don't need to do anything to the outside. A plate 4 millimeters thick is also welded to the inside. It is important that the clamping device fixes the threshold and does not bend during use.

Installation of rack and pulling devices

Factory hydraulic attachments are suitable for racks and devices. If they cannot be purchased, a homemade mechanism will do. The power of the device should be from 1 to 2 tons. To attach the pulling devices, you need a pad. It is made from a channel and installed in the frame of the slipway. To place the tightening mechanism and chains in any place, it is necessary to make holes in the frame along the entire slipway.

External description of the VAZ-2112

This brand of car differs from its previous brothers in both external and internal parameters. The body of the car has been improved, it has become slightly longer, due to this the volume of the luggage compartment has increased to 400 liters.
