Decoding errors
Each error code consists of five characters. The last two characters indicate the serial number of the specific error.
The first character changes based on the fault system in the car:
- P – malfunctions in the operation of the power plant or defects in the operation of the gearbox.
- U – disruption of interaction between system units.
- B – electric lifts, airbag and other defects in body systems.
- C – faults associated with the EUR.
Next character:
- 3 – reserve;
- 1 and 2 – manufacturer codes;
- 0 – general code for on-board diagnostics.
The third character indicates the nature of the malfunction:
- 1 and 2 – inform about the appearance of defects in the operation of the fuel system or malfunctions during the air supply;
- 3 – breakdown in the ignition system;
- 4 – additional control;
- 5 – incorrectly operating components in idle mode;
- 6 – electronic unit, as well as its circuits;
- 7, 8 – gearbox malfunction.

I didn’t expect the actuator to be replaced. AvtoVAZ considers this sound functional and changes it only if it breaks down. But surprisingly, they carried out a disassembly and maintenance procedure and replaced the lubricant, although it seems to me that it was not there at all. According to the work order, they wrote out 2 n.h. = 2600 rubles, but did not take the money. At the Lada Center, where the creaking was diagnosed, they were ready to lubricate it for 1,500 rubles. So kudos to the BEAR for this action and thanks! And about 2 months ago I was interested in the question of the possibility of servicing this unit under warranty. Even a request was written and a response was received - the decision is at the discretion of the dealer.
3. The ignition switch did not show itself, without video evidence captured on the dealer’s camera, there is no warranty solution. Although it bothers me very rarely, once every 2-3 weeks and usually when it’s hot outside. I’ll say right away that blocking the alarm has nothing to do with it, because... Oil consumption, after capitalization under the warranty, gradually began to increase, and now has again reached 1 liter per 1000 km. The measurement procedure has changed. Now they don’t look at the blue smoke like they did last year. Fill in new Lada Ultra oil to the maximum mark. Pour into a measuring container. Dear friends, today I’ll tell you about my experience in resolving problems with the throttle assembly. Very relevant, especially for owners of 21129 engines.

The occurrence and solution at the plant level in the case of the M74.5 ECU, it was like this. When the ignition was turned on on old versions of the ECU firmware, the micro-calibration time of the Throttle Unit (hereinafter referred to as the remote control) was, well, long, due to the fact that the owner did not wait for a 10-second pause during the ignition, this error occurred.
This problem can be fixed with firmware.
But not everyone, for example, in cars of 13-14 years, the remote control motor was of an old model, had a certain moment of jamming, then in 15 the remote control became “modernized” and this error went away altogether.
