    Before cleaning the part, you must additionally remove the sensors from the housing. This should only be done for a power driven unit. As for the electronic gas damper, a control unit is attached to its body, which does not need to be removed. Moreover, when flushing the carburetor with cleaner, you need to make sure that the cleaning agent does not get on the control unit.

    The defects of the Lada Priora idle speed sensor include the following facts:

The way to check the idle speed sensor, familiar to most Russian car enthusiasts, is as follows:

    1. Shut down the power plant.
    2. Disconnect the terminal block from the idle speed sensor.
    3. Using a multimeter, measure the resistance values ​​of the sensor windings, which between connectors A and B, and C and D should be 40-80 Ohms. When measuring resistance values ​​between connectors B and C, A and D, the electronic measuring device should signal an open circuit (show the “infinity” value). With such parameters of the electrical circuit, the device is classified as a serviceable element.

    In the Lada Priora, there is little point in testing the idle speed sensor with a standard multimeter. Measuring the resistance values ​​of the winding contacts will help little in finding the defect, because the main problem of such gadgets is the coking of the needle contact, which because of this gives incorrect readings. It is very expensive to purchase a tester for this procedure, so it is suggested to use improvised means from which you can make a homemade tester.

    The basis of the electronic measuring device can be a transformer with an output voltage of 6 Volts AC (a component from a mobile phone charger is suitable). If the idle speed sensor is working properly with a voltage of 6 V and a current of 0.6 A, the light bulb should produce a weak light, and if there is a defect (sticking of the rod), the glow will be quite bright.

    When cleaning the internal cavity, it is not recommended to change the position of the Priora throttle valve with electronic gas, since the drive gears can be damaged. The mechanical damper, on the contrary, can be rotated by the drive, completely opening access to the inside. You can also disconnect the damper from the rotation axis. It is secured with two bolts. However, you need to know how hard to tighten it back. If self-loosening occurs after assembly, the bolts will fall into the combustion chambers of the engine. To prevent this from happening, after finishing the work you need to drive 500 km, disassemble the unit again and tighten the damper fasteners.

    After assembly, do not forget to add coolant to the operating level.

    Replacing TPS on Priora

    The throttle position sensor in a Priora with a 16-valve engine is not a highly reliable unit, so every owner of this car has probably faced the need to replace this auto part. Some car owners even have a new, working TPS in stock.

    Let's consider how this element is replaced. This procedure is carried out in three main steps: dismantling the old device, installing a new TPS, resetting the error about the malfunction remaining in the ECU memory from the previous sensor. In more detail, the whole process goes like this:

    1. Check that the ignition is turned off.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
    3. Unscrew the fastening screws with a screwdriver.
    4. Installation of a new device by turning a working TPS until the holes coincide.
    5. Tighten the screws.
    6. Put on the chip.

    The error is reset by removing the terminals from the battery for a long period (all night). This time should be enough to completely reset the memory.

    It should be noted that the Lada Priora does not require TPS adjustment, while on many foreign brands such a procedure is mandatory. If there is a need to replace this sensor, then you should not buy the cheapest one, which costs around 300 rubles.

    The best solution would be to take the average (500–1000 rubles) or expensive option (1000 and above), if possible. Thus, the likelihood that you will no longer be bothered by the TPS will increase significantly.
