Car with manual transmission? In order for autostart to work, you need to PERFORM PROGRAM NEUTRAL (show the alarm that the startup process will be safe for others): -After parking the car, raise and tighten the parking brake - the corresponding light on the dashboard should light up! -Remove the key from the ignition - the engine should continue to run! -Get out of the car (the driver's door switch must be in good working order) - the alarm will “see” that the door has opened/closed and “understand” that the driver has left. (the engine is still running!) -Press the arming button - simultaneously with arming, the engine will stall (if the turbo timer mode for a motor with a turbine is not turned on). AFTER THIS, LAUNCHES ARE POSSIBLE. But if you return to the car and open at least one door, repeat the neutralization AGAIN. Otherwise, there will be no autostarts/disstarts.

Regarding the fact that the key fob is lying - it shows a running engine when the engine is not running - Tomahawks are capricious according to the rules for connecting the engine control wire - the gray-black wire of the 18-pin connector. Only pros will help you here (you need to go to them to watch LIVE). Because you need to figure out where and how this wire is connected. The best option is a tacho signal (but it must be connected through a brand capacitor, for example K73-17 or a similar 0.5. 1.5 uF at a voltage of 160 volts, in second place is the “charge” lamp (control by generator). The worst thing (and most likely for you) it is so - not everyone will find a suitable control signal on Fords) if the gray-black wire is not connected ANYWHERE (control by noise - voltage of the on-board network (this is not the same as the generator)). It is difficult to treat this on the Internet. you see - you need to look where it is connected, an oscilloscope is an irreplaceable thing, especially for searching for TAKH pulses, you need to analyze and probably CHANGE SOMETHING in the connections, plus reprogram the alarm for these reconnections.

This means that the PROGRAM NEUTRAL PROCEDURE on your CAR is involved and it (the procedure) must be performed whenever you want to be able to start the CAR remotely/automatically. It is made so that IT DOESN'T GO BY ITSELF, collecting along the way everything that falls under the wheels.

What does "work" mean? Does the car start or not? If it starts, runs for the set time (maybe 10, 15, 20 minutes), then stalls on its own, then you need to CAREFULLY LOOK at the key fob to see what it will show on the screen when it DOES NOT START. Since you have 9020, it means launches at intervals. You'll have to keep watch - the next launch could be in 1 hour, or 2 hours, or 4 hours (I don't remember about 3 hours). It all depends on how the person who installed the whitefish programmed it. So - IF the alarm system CANNOT start the engine for some reason, then IT WILL DEFINITELY tell you on the key fob by drawing something. Another test option: DO NOT ACTIVATE the autostart on the key fob, BUT PERFORM A NEUTRAL TEST. 3 hours after this, go out to the car and standing next to it and looking into the cabin at the tidy, press the remote start button, LOOK CAREFULLY and LISTEN: 1. St (start of START) should appear on the key fob instead of the clock, the key fob should play a melody. 2. The car should flash its lights (and possibly quack its siren). 3. The dashboard should light up and the buzzing of the fuel pump should be heard (usually somewhere under the belly (it’s in the gas tank)). ATTENTION – the buzzing should stop before step 4 starts. 4. After about 2..4. Within 6 seconds the starter should begin to rotate quite quickly and the engine will eventually start. (On Fords I usually set the delay to 6 seconds - the fuel pump pumps for a long time, and if the starter starts turning before the gas is pumped, it’s not a fact that the car will start) 5. The car should blink its lights. 6. A melody should play on the key fob and smoke should appear in the picture from behind the car, r10 (r15, r20) should light up above the car - warm-up time.

If, instead of the events of step 4, a sluggish VU (VU-VU) is heard, or even more so a central control system, or even silence, and then on the SP (StartPenalty) key fob - the start is impossible, canceled, interrupted, then most likely there is a problem with the battery. When the starter is turned on, the voltage drops below 10 volts (you can accurately verify this using a voltmeter), but the signaling system does not like this - it RESETS THE CURRENT START and CANCELS ALL SUBSEQUENT ones. In second place are bad contacts in the signaling circuits, first of all - the 30A fuse block on the red thick wire of the whitefish, and of course the battery contacts, contacts at the junctions of the signaling and car wiring. ATTENTION. With the key, the car can start quite well - this is not the Russian auto industry - the starter with a planetary gear spins at 9 volts and even at 7, and the injection and ignition electronics very often have enough of the same 7-8 volts to “splash” the gasoline and “strike” a spark in the cylinder.

If the signal in step 4 makes 3-4 attempts to rotate the starter (quite long), but the engine does not start, then there may be a problem with the IMMObilizer bypasser. (Or it does not have time to pump the fuel pump - see above) After the handbrake was raised during the preparation process of the car and pulled out the key - stick it back into the lock, BUT DO NOT TURN it, just stick it in. Get out, arm the car, and try starting it again after three hours. If it works on the first try, there is a problem with the crawler. (It is better to do this - leave the key in the lock in a protected area). Like that.

Troubleshooting tips from the manufacturer

Let's look at the most common breakdowns of the anti-theft system and how to fix them.

  1. The remote control battery is faulty. Replace it with a new one.
  2. The vehicle is in a radio interference zone. Move the vehicle to another location.
  3. De-synchronization of the key fob and alarm control unit. Re-register the remote control.
  4. Deterioration of the anti-theft system. Contact the service center.

In addition, other malfunctions in the operation of the Tomahawk 9010 may occur. Let's consider them in more detail.

Auto engine start

By temperature

When installing the Tomahawk 9010 alarm system, an additional temperature sensor is hung under the hood. When autostarting the engine based on temperature, the system is guided by the readings of this sensor, and if an external sensor is not installed, then by the air temperature in the cabin.

To activate automatic engine start based on temperature, you must:

  • simultaneously press buttons No. 4 (key) and No. 1 (trunk) - the parking lights will flash once, the siren will emit one beep;
  • the melodic trill of the key fob will sound and two new objects will appear on its display: an icon depicting a fan and a warm-up temperature set by software;
  • if the system is based on an external temperature sensor, the engine will start when the temperature drops below the programmed mark;
  • If the system is based on the air temperature in the cabin, the engine will automatically start when the air warms up to the set temperature.

To disable this function, press buttons No. 4 (key) and No. 1 (trunk). The car will react with a double flash of parking lights and a double siren signal. The key fob will play a melodic trill again and the fan icon will disappear from its display.

By time

To activate timed engine autostart, you must hold down buttons No. 4 (key) and No. 2 (silent security) - the car will honk, the pager will emit a melodic trill and an icon with a clock will appear on its display. From now on, the Tomahawk 9010 will start the vehicle engine every day at the same time when this function was activated.

To disable the daily autostart function by time, you must again press the buttons “4” (key) and “2” (silent security). The parking lights will flash twice and the system will confirm deactivation of the function with two beeps. The clock icon will disappear on the key fob display and a melodic trill will sound.

At regular intervals

The Tomahawk 9010 system allows you to automatically start the engine at regular intervals. To activate this function, you need to activate the daily autostart function, and then within 5 seconds select the corresponding button on the key fob and press it:

  • No. 5 (lock) – engine starts every hour;
  • No. 4 (key) – start the engine at intervals of 2 hours;
  • No. 1 (trunk) – starting the engine at intervals of 4 hours;
  • No. 2 (silent security) – starting the engine at intervals of 12 hours.

The system will remember the selected interval. The engine will be started for the first time immediately after the programming session is completed.

Tomahawk 9010 does not enter programming mode

The reasons why the system does not enter settings may be the following.

  1. The “Valet” mode is turned on - the LED is constantly on.
  2. The Override button is damaged. The integrity of the wire from the key to the control unit is broken.
  3. The control unit does not detect that the ignition is turned on. Contact the specialists.

Disconnect the gray/black wire that goes to the oil pressure sensor or tachometer. The security system can be programmed, but without autostart.

Having corrected all problems, enter programming mode:

  • without starting the engine, turn on the ignition;
  • Press the “Override” button six times;
  • turn off the ignition. The siren will sound 6 times to confirm entry into programming mode.

We have a diagram of the Tomahawk 9010 alarm unit.

Solutions

Knowing the potential causes is only half the battle, because it is necessary to identify the malfunction and figure out what to do if a car with a Tomahawk 9010 alarm system does not start from autostart. Below we will look at the main steps that can restore the functionality of the function.

Check that the basic conditions are met

One of the reasons why the function does not work is failure to comply with the requirements required for automatic engine start to work on vehicles with Tomahawk 9010, 9020, 9030 and other models. Check the following conditions:

  • The vehicle ignition is turned off.
  • The hood is closed.
  • The gearshift knob is in neutral (on manual transmission) or on P (on automatic transmission). In addition, in the case of mechanics, Manual Gear should be lit on the key fob.

  • The car is on the handbrake.
  • Valet mode is disabled.
  • The function is enabled.

In any of the cases discussed above, the auto start does not work in the Tomahawk alarm, and the security system itself emits four beeps.

Make sure you turn it on correctly

There are often complaints on the forums that they say that the Tomahawk 9010 alarm does not turn on for autostart and does not respond to commands from the key fob. Most often this happens due to incorrect activation of the function.

So, on the TW-9010 model for remote start, do the following:

  • Click on the button with the key. The parking lights come on three times and the audible alarm sounds the same number of times.

  • Pay attention to the display. The inscription St indicates an attempt to start the engine, and SP indicates problems. So, if the Tomahawk alarm does not autostart, the SP error is displayed on the key fob. If everything went well and the engine started, a melody appears on the key fob, and in the picture of the car there is an image of smoke from the exhaust pipe.

If all manipulations are performed correctly, the machine’s engine runs for the set time and then turns off. To increase the starting time, press the key and lock button. After each press, autostart runs five minutes longer.

To turn on the device based on temperature, click on the button with the key and the trunk open. The lights and sound will sound once to confirm that the option has been activated and the fan symbol will appear on the display.

If you need to turn on the system by time, click on the symbol of the key and the crossed out speaker. A single sound and light signal indicates that the option is enabled. A picture of a clock appears on the display.

The reasons why autostart does not work on the Tomahawk X5 alarm system are similar. Here it is also necessary to check that the conditions discussed above are met. Additionally, to activate the option, do the following:

  1. By temperature. Press the open lock/key button until the signal sounds, and then press the open trunk button.
  2. By time. Click on the open lock / key symbol, and then on the closed lock / zZ key.

After this, look carefully at the icons on the keychain, each of them has its own meaning. And they will easily help you understand whether everything is okay with the device.

Run diagnostics

In a situation where the auto start of the Tomahawk alarm from the key fob has stopped working, there may be more serious reasons. Take the following steps:

  • Make sure the alarm can see the handbrake. When it is raised/lowered, a special indicator appears on the key fob display.

  • Pay attention to whether the security system sees the engine running. There are situations when the Tomahawk 9010 autostart stops working due to malfunctions of the generator or oxidation of the power connection points. In the latter case, the unit will receive less voltage than provided by the manufacturer.
  • Check the door switches. This problem can disrupt the system's operation algorithm, which is why the Tomahawk 9010 does not start from autorun. So, if the alarm does not see the driver's door switch, it will not complete program neutral.

Check the starter cranking time

In a situation where the Tomahawk autostart turns the starter, but the car does not start, pay attention to the cranking time. In winter, when the timing is less than 0.8 s, the engine does not have time to pick up, but the thickened oil extinguishes the pressure lamp. The next time you try to start, Tomahawk sees the engine supposedly running before the starter is turned on, and makes no further attempts.

Make sure the crawler is working correctly

If a vehicle equipped with the Tomahawk 9010 has a crawler, make sure it works correctly. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Open and close the doors to simulate getting out of the car.
  3. Try autostarting by placing the key in the ignition.
  4. If the immobilizer does not recognize the crawler, it should see the lock key, which will allow the engine to start.

When examining the crawler, pay attention to the position of the chip relative to the internal antenna. It should stand at 90 degrees to the turns. Try changing your position.

If the autostart of the Tomahawk 9010 works, but the engine starts and stalls, increase the operating time of the crawler in the settings.

Reset

In some cases, resetting the settings may help. The algorithm is like this:

  • Turn on the ignition.
  • Press Override 10 times. It is usually not difficult to find out where the Valet button is located.

  • Turn off the ignition. The siren should sound 10 times.
  • Press Override 1 time.
  • Arm/disarm the car.
  • Turn the ignition on/off.

Knowing why autostart does not work on the Tomahawk 9010 and how to fix the problem, you can restore the alarm system to working order without going to a service station. In the comments, share your experience in solving similar problems.

The starter turns, but does not start

The error may occur for the following reasons (during autostart).

  1. The remote start mode is incorrectly activated: the car is not put on the handbrake, the gear is engaged, autostart on the Tomahawk 9010 key fob is not turned on.
  2. A mode that blocks the machine's engine is activated. Deactivate it and start the engine.
  3. The immobilizer is broken. Contact the specialists.
  4. The anti-theft system control unit has failed. Go to the service center.
  5. Autorun functions are not programmed correctly. Reset all settings to factory defaults.

Reset previous settings:

When a used car is purchased complete with a security system, it is quite possible that many unnecessary settings will be retained from the old owner, moreover, this may be the reason why the car does not start, so it is necessary to “reset” it.

To do this, press the OVERRIDE button nine times with the ignition off. Then turn the key and press the indicated button. At the first signal, place your finger on the image of the lock. Turn off the ignition again, after which all settings will return to their original (factory) state.

When installing a protective system in a car (service) center, the OVERRIDE button is placed under the steering wheel, and it is through it that all basic functions are programmed.

Siren doesn't work

Horn malfunction may occur for the following reasons.

  1. Activating the “Quiet Mode” of the security system. Turn it off and check the siren's operation.
  2. Failure of the alarm control unit. Contact the specialists.
  3. Blown fuses, faulty wires responsible for connecting the horn. Replace fuses and wires. Check the siren operation.
  4. Damage to the siren itself. Check the speaker. Repair it or replace it with a new one.

Tomahawk tw 9010 starts with key fob and stalls

The car starts with the remote control, but turns off after 3 seconds. What to do in this situation? The alarm system initially controls the operation of the engine via the on-board network. If there is a problem with charging or power supply, then the following symptoms occur. Connect the gray-black wire to the oil pressure light or battery charge control icon. Start the engine.

We also have an instruction manual for the Tomahawk 9010 key fob.

Autorun function.

First, start the autostart function only when the engine is turned off and the car is set to alarm.

Secondly, observe the conditions for cars with different transmissions. A car with an automatic transmission must be in the “Parking” position.

For mechanics, it is important to leave the gear lever in neutral and activate the handbrake

Tomahawk security systems allow you to use the autorun mode in different ways.

Types of automatic engine start:

  • Remote engine start;
  • By time (at regular intervals or at a certain time);
  • At a given temperature.

Let's consider each type of autorun separately.

Remote engine start

The easiest way to use the engine auto-start option is to force this function to be turned on. That is, the owner turns on the automatic engine start mode remotely, and the car runs for a certain time. The driver then drives off with the vehicle ready to go. To remotely start the engine, you need to perform a simple algorithm of actions:

  1. Press the “KEY” button on the key fob
  2. The parking lights will flash three times and the siren will sound three times;
  3. The signal for successful activation of the function is the appearance of the “CAR” sign on the mini-display. In this mode, the key fob emits a melody

The engine will run for the pre-programmed time.

By time

Under constant weather conditions, when the autostart has to be used daily, the car owner can configure the automatic operation function according to the specified time interval parameters. To activate this option, you must follow the following algorithm of actions:

  1. Press and hold the “KEY” and “LIGHT OFF” keys together until the parking lights turn on and then turn off.
  2. The text “CLOCK” will appear on the display of the car alarm key fob, set the time you need
  3. A short ringtone will sound as a sign of successful activation of the function

Trigger by temperature

During the cold season, when the temperature at night drops to below 20

Instructions for connecting the “Autostart by temperature” function:

  1. Press and simultaneously hold the “TRUNK OPEN” and “KEY” buttons until the side lights turn on and a sound signal appears
  2. The “SNOWFLAKE” icon will appear on the mini-display. Set the air temperature at which you want your car to start automatically.
  3. The signal for successful activation is a short musical ringtone.

The option allows you to configure autostart at temperatures from -5C to -30C no more than six times in an interval of 2 hours.

Tomahawk 9010 blocks engine start

Tomahawk anti-theft systems may malfunction. What to do if the car engine does not start, the starter does not even try to turn? Let's look at several reasons.

  1. Accidental activation of the motor lock function. Carefully study the information on the remote control screen. Disable the powertrain lock and start the car.
  2. Inspect the alarm fuses. If burnt out ones are found, this indicates serious malfunctions in the operation of the security system. Replace the faulty fuse with a new one. Start the car.
  3. Low battery charge or loose terminals. Charge the battery. Check and tighten terminals.
  4. Incorrect operation of the limit switches located under the hood and trunk lid. Replace them and try starting the engine.

Description and characteristics

Quite high-quality products from this manufacturer are entering the market, which are distinguished by reasonable prices, including when it comes to “top” models with a range of 434 and 868 MHz and built-in memory.

Here are just a few of their inherent features:

  • Availability of feedback with remote polling of systems status.
  • Search for a vehicle in case of theft.
  • Remote (automatic) start when the temperature drops to a certain level.
  • Opening the trunk with one button.
  • Availability of additional control channels.
  • Built-in motor lock.
  • Quiet mode.
  • Anti-grabber.
  • Engine blocking.
  • Safe driving.
  • Auto-staging.
  • Immobilizer.
  • Lock programming.
  • Anti-scanner.

A large number of options certainly makes operating the car easier and more comfortable. For example, the remote start system allows you to automatically start the engine at a great distance in cold weather and get into an already warm interior when the car is warmed up, or in hot weather you can turn on the air conditioning in the same way.

The Tomahawk anti-theft system is designed to protect your vehicle from theft. If a thief gets into the car, the system will notify the owner with an alarm, block the engine, and the car will not move.

In addition, such protective systems have volatile memory: if the power is turned off, the system will remember all previously set parameters. The range of such devices is an impressive 1300 meters.

Glitches with doors

What to do if the alarm system does not open the central locking from the remote control? How to remove the block? Below we will look at possible situations.

  1. Broken key fob. Repair the communicator yourself or contact a specialist.
  2. Poor quality wire twists. Open the insulation of the wires, clean the connection, solder it, and insulate it.
  3. Failure of the alarm control unit. In this case, it is better to contact an electrician.
  4. The key fob has become untied from the control unit. Re-register the remote control in the memory of the control unit.

Tomahawk 9010 alarm system stopped working

It happens that the car malfunctions, does not want to open, close, or start. The reason is the alarm and its problems, which include:

  • dead battery of the control panel. Replace the battery with a new one and check the operation of the Tomahawk 9010;
  • radio interference that interferes with the operation of the alarm system. Place the car in another place;
  • breakdown of the security system control unit. Take the car to a service center;
  • desynchronization of the remote control with the vehicle. Register the key fob in the anti-theft system memory.

How to increase starter cranking time

In some situations, after long-term operation or severe cold weather, the initial cranking time of the starter may not be enough. The piston group begins to rotate, but the pick-up does not work. For such situations, the manufacturer has provided the possibility of increasing the starter operating time.

Enter the program by pressing Override three times.

The system allows the driver to set three modes:

  • 800 ms – press the closed lock;
  • 1200 ms – press the key on the key fob;
  • 1800 ms – activated via the trunk open button;
  • 3000 ms – you will need to click on the crossed out speaker.

In this case, the factory position is set exactly to 800 ms. It is assumed that the device will be operated in warm weather and with a working battery. Failures are logically explained by wear of the battery and freezing of oil in the crankcase compartment.

You can watch the calibration procedure in more detail in the video.

Error: LED blinks 2, 3, 4 times and that’s it

It turned out to be a glitch in the signaling - the LED was blinking, the engine was blocked from starting. One of the reasons is the incorrect operation of the door, hood, and trunk switches. Clean contacts or replace switches. Test the alarm.

Another reason may be the incorrect location of the car engine temperature sensor. Reinstall the sensor according to the instruction manual.

The key fob doesn't see the car

The Tomahawk TV 9010 pager does not respond to the alarm for the following reasons:

  • The battery in the remote control is dead. Replace with a new one;
  • The vehicle is in a radio interference zone. Move it to another place;
  • breakdown of the alarm control unit. Contact the service center;
  • The synchronization of the remote control with the machine is broken. Re-register the pager in the security system memory;
  • failure of the communicator. Repair it yourself or contact a service center.

Doesn't start with key

There are problems with the alarm system, the car will not start with the key. Let's look at the reasons for this:

  • The engine lock is accidentally activated. Take it off;
  • the anti-theft system relay contacts are connected in parallel to the ignition switch and starter contacts;
  • Any other blocking has been activated. Return the security system settings to factory settings.

Tomahawk 9020" and the implementation of autostart

The Tomahawk tz 9020 alarm system is equipped with a separate connector that allows you to connect with autostart. A similar connector is provided in all systems manufactured under the Tomahawk brand and belonging to the “90XX” family. The connector connection diagram depends on the model. Let's look at what this circuit looks like for one signaling device - tz 9020.

Ignition switch contacts

In a simple version, the ignition switch contains three different contacts. They are designated as follows: “30”, “50”, “15”.

At the 30th voltage comes from the battery, from the 15th the current goes to the ignition line, well, the 50th terminal is the starter contact. The list can be expanded further.

At contact “15/2”, for example, there is no voltage when the starter is running, which distinguishes it from terminal “15”. Foreign cars also have an “ACC” line that supplies accessories.

4 lines switched by lock

Important

To start the engine by autostart, the alarm must “emulate” the lines passing through the contacts of the lock. In many cars, however, it is possible not to connect the “ACC” line, as well as the “second” ignition line.

Some cars have two starter lines. The developers of your car alarm have provided this option. The “blue” cord coming out of the power connector is connected to the second line of the starter. But this connection method requires configuration. This will be discussed in more detail below.

Various scheme options

The power terminal block of the Tomahawk tz 9020 signaling contains 6 contacts. The basic diagram for these is shown below:

Auto start and power connector

The arrows here indicate T-shaped connections. According to the instructions, it is better to connect the “red” wire to the “30th” contact. The pre-flask shown in the diagram is then not installed.

The “blue” cord can be connected not to the “ACC” line, but to the lineman relay, which is what is usually done in practice. Your car alarm can also be configured additionally, and then the specified wire will emulate one of two lines: “IGN 1”, an additional starter line.

In any case, the “yellow” cord is connected to pin “15”. The “black and yellow” wires will go into the gap in the starter cable. The “thin” wire, moreover, is connected to the lock terminal. If the “black and yellow” cables are mixed up, it will be impossible to start the engine even with the key.

Let's say there are two starter lines in the standard wiring. The alarm is then connected like this:

Option with two starter lines

Some cars have a feature - current must be supplied to one of the two lines earlier than to the other. Then you need to “break” the second circuit, and connect to the first “T-shape”. The setting for the considered case is performed as follows: option “1” associated with autostart receives the value 4.tomahawk tz 9020 If the lines are triggered simultaneously, use the value 3.

The Tomahawk car alarm of the model in question does not allow connection to locks that have two 30 terminals. Or rather, you can connect everything, but then you won’t be able to use autorun.

Software system setup

The instructions for the Tomahawk model “9020” alarm contain two different tables. The first contains security functions. Now we are interested in another table (second). Its options can be accessed like this:

  1. Turn off the ignition
  2. Press the Override service button 6 times,
  3. The ignition is turned on
  4. After 6 beeps, press the service button to select the option number.

The desired value is set by pressing the key fob. The time period between steps should not exceed 7 seconds.

Autorun options table

So, the programming mode has been activated. Set up the functions in order:

All auto start settings

Shown here is "Table 2" copied from the instructions. It contains options related to autorun.

Function 4 is a delay before starting the starter. Let us list the options provided for the first function. The choice depends on how the “blue” cord is connected:

  1. ACC line emulation (default),
  2. Duplicate wire "IGN 1" (but not "IGN 2"),
  3. Duplicating the starter wire,
  4. The “blue” cord is the starter wire that engages first.

The car alarm should monitor whether the engine is running. The “gray-black” control cord coming out of the main terminal block is connected to a tachometer or to a pressure lamp. And “option 2” is then configured like this:

  1. Use the first option if connected to a lamp. The starter operating period will be 0.8 seconds.
  2. Same as option 1, but the period will be 1.2 seconds.
  3. Equivalent to option 1, but the period is increased to 2 seconds.
  4. Use “Option 4” if you use tachometer control.

Amendment for cars with manual transmission

Option 3, indicated in the third line, allows you to select the type of transmission: “automatic” or “mechanical”.

Manual transmission in a car

Having installed the alarm on a car with a manual transmission, the third option is assigned the value 2. Then they try the following:

  1. The handbrake is activated when the engine is started,
  2. Turn off the ignition with the key (the engine continues to run),
  3. All doors are closed
  4. If you engage the security, the engine will stall.

The owner will perform all these actions during operation. The sequence is called "preparing to launch."

Let's say that in “step 2” the engine stops as soon as the ignition is turned off. Then you need to try this: when setting up, set the value to 3 or 4.

And in the sequence indicated above, then one more step will appear - before “step 2” you will need to press the “Disarm” button. Pressing is carried out in two stages: for a long time, that is, until a sound signal is heard, then briefly.

Advice

The additional remote control does not produce any signals, but it changes the color of the LED.

In order for the signaling system to read the state of the handbrake, the orange-violet cord is connected to the corresponding microbutton. The manufacturer has provided what is discussed in this chapter for one purpose - to increase operational safety.

About connecting the engine control wire

It was said above that the control “gray-black” cable is connected in one of two ways: to the oil pressure lamp, to the tachometer.

Main connector connection diagram

In the first case, everything is clear, although control using the indicator is not reliable. Using the output of the tachometer, you can get acceptable results, but you only need to connect to the high-voltage terminal.

With this method of control, “training” is usually carried out to teach the system to recognize idle speed. But for Tomahawk signals, starting from the “9020” family, a similar procedure is not provided.

The instructions do not say that when connecting to the tachometer, it is better to install a capacitor (1 µF and 63 Volts) in the wire gap. Electrolytic capacitors are not suitable here. Happy installation.

About installing alarms with auto start

Tomahawk 9010 does not respond to the Override button

Pressing the Override key does not do anything. There may be reasons for this.

  1. The button itself is faulty. Install a new one.
  2. Break in the electrical circuit from the key to the control unit. Restore the integrity of the wires.
  3. Damage to the anti-theft system. Take the car to a service center.

Alarm keeps going off

Let's look at another malfunction of the Tomahawk TW 9010, when it triggers spontaneously. This happens for the following reasons.

  1. Failure of the alarm or some sensors. Contact qualified personnel.
  2. Large objects are left inside the car, causing the internal volume sensor to trigger. Clear the interior of extraneous items.
  3. Incorrect operation of the limit switches of the hood, doors, and trunk. This is due to oxidation of the wires or breakdown of the sensors.

How to configure autostart on Tomahawk 10.1 alarm systems

This alarm system differs little from the previous series in terms of the setup principle: the procedure for entering the settings menu and further steps for selecting the desired function are similar to the TW-9010. Functions 1 to 5 are absolutely identical. The differences go further:

  • function 7 allows you to configure the Tomahawk to work on vehicles with a “Start-Stop” button (options 3 and 4);
  • the difference between these options is in the functioning of the black and yellow wire: in option 3, the pulse is sent after several unsuccessful startup attempts, in option 4 - after each. The functioning of this wire is set according to the operating algorithm of the “Start-Stop” button in a particular car;
  • function 17 now controls the central locking, and according to a modified algorithm. In option 1, additional central locking control is completely disabled; in option 2, only a locking pulse is given at the end of autostart. In option 3, on the contrary, the locking pulse is given only at the beginning of autostart, and in option 4 - both at the beginning and at the end.
