How to effectively protect your own vehicle from theft without overpaying for unnecessary features and brand? This question is asked by every car enthusiast who makes a choice in favor of one of the security systems on the market today. If the phrase Fighter alarm system is not yet familiar to the car owner, it means that the answer to this question has not yet been found.

The Fighter car alarm is exactly the product that successfully combines a high degree of protection, comfortable operation, and affordable cost. These three components of success make these budget security systems the most attractive option for anyone interested in a profitable and useful purchase.

High security efficiency: secret cipher

Of all the possible technologies for protection against interception (statistical, dialog, dynamic code), fighter alarm manufacturers chose the last one. And they were right. The Keeloq® dynamic cipher, which has become the basis of a barrier erected between a motorist’s movable property and an attacker attempting to steal it, is the best option, and here’s why:

  1. "Floating" cipher. Unlike a statistical code, protected by a single password key for all systems of a certain brand, a dynamic code implies constant updating of the cipher with each subsequent transmission of the package (after pressing the key fob button). Even if an attacker is able to intercept it, he will not be able to use it, since the next disarming action will use a completely different code unknown to him.
  2. Budget element. Unlike interactive code, which implies a more complex encryption principle and, accordingly, a more expensive creation technology, dynamic code costs several times less. Its use allows us to keep the cost of Fighters at a level accessible to everyone, without sacrificing the quality of their protective properties.

Regardless of the chosen system, be it models of the Ex series (ex,ex plus), F series (f - 35, f - 15, f - 31, f - 28) or stealth fighter S series (107, 111, 109) the machine is always will be reliably protected thanks to the use of an effective encryption principle using Keeloq® technology.

Advantages and disadvantages

The Fighter brand has gained enormous popularity among the population due to the minimum cost of the product. We can say with confidence that the company is considered the best manufacturer of budget alarm systems.

Despite the low cost, each model is equipped with the maximum number of useful functions and capabilities. Using the instructions, it is possible to create optimal working conditions. The alarm can be easily adapted to many everyday tasks.

The degree of protection against signal interception is at a high level. This can be the envy of competitors not only in the budget group. Thanks to the unique coding, it is almost impossible to intercept control of the security system.

Let's summarize the positive qualities of the product. They became:

  • low cost;
  • flexible configuration system;
  • a large set of functions and programs;
  • signal security.

High savings were reflected in the quality of the most basic parts. Take, for example, the same keychain. It has virtually no protection from environmental factors. At the same time, the quality of the alarm components located on board the car does not raise such severe criticism.

Another side of saving is minimalism and all sorts of inconveniences. It is almost impossible to set up the alarm without instructions. The abundance of commands, divided mainly into 2 and 4 buttons, is significant. You will also have to remember the combinations of signals supplied and their meaning if we are talking about two-way communication with the car.

Many models from the production line do not have a display on the key fob, which makes operation very difficult. But this is not so critical. If any danger arises, the system will let you know about it. And what happened there can already be figured out on the spot.

Let's summarize what has been said. Among the shortcomings the following were identified.

Comfortable control: maximum useful options

The manufacturer's care is visible not only in a competent security scheme, but also in a thoughtful set of functional properties. In fighter alarms (ex, Revolution, F, Jet, stealth fighter S), as a rule, there are no problems with the lack of any mode. Everything a car owner needs is provided even by the simplest system of this brand.

The basic functional set (using the example of the most budget model Fighter 104) includes the following options:

  1. Automatic door locking. As soon as the key fob gives the command to arm the car, the doors will close automatically (the same will happen when the ignition is turned on).
  2. Remote control . The opening/closing of doors (central locking) and trunk is coordinated using the control panel (alarm key fob).
  3. Auto return to security mode. The mode is activated when, after canceling the protection, the car doors do not open within a period of half a minute; in this case, the system returns the car to the security mode again.
  4. Automatic arming. Ten seconds after the car doors are closed (with the ignition already turned off), the alarm will automatically go into protective mode.
  5. Silent arming/disarming. Changes in system state (off/on) will not be accompanied by sound signals confirming these actions.

More advanced models of the Fighter alarm manufacturer's line (for example, ex plus) boast a longer list of functions, including auto engine start, and “turbo timer”, “safe driving”, “anti-robbery” modes and other very useful options.

Fighter is the best manufacturer of budget alarm systems in the CIS markets

Today, the range of anti-theft car systems on the market is simply huge. Each buyer can purchase an alarm system in accordance with his financial capabilities and needs, but a large selection can simply confuse the consumer. In this article we will talk about what the Fighter alarm system is, what models can be found on sale and what disadvantages are typical for such alarms.

Accessible installation and connection: clear diagram

Another attractive factor when choosing Fighter alarms is the ability to quickly and easily install the system on a car with your own hands. Of course, you can use the help of professionals, but their services will double the car owner’s costs.

Detailed instructions included in the kit of any Fighter model, along with other elements (main module - central unit, control panel - key fob, shock sensor, Valet service button, LED indicator, siren, wiring harnesses) will tell you the correct algorithm of actions and protect you from mistakes, in particular regarding the following points:

  1. Location of alarm components. The basic rule, which allows us to hope for the flawless operation of each individual element of the system and for their successful interaction, says: you cannot place system components in places that are unsafe for them (near heating parts, components, devices that create radio interference, in areas where there is a risk of moisture getting inside parts where it is not protected from mechanical stress).
  2. Element connections. A clear connection diagram for Fighter alarms, presented in the form of an illustration that makes it easier to understand, leaves no chance for error. Everything is simple, clear and accessible. Anyone who can read can understand this issue (fortunately, no special skills are required to install Fighter alarms yourself; it is enough to be able to carefully study the materials and not be afraid to apply the acquired knowledge in practice).

System setup: made easy

Of course, you need to start with “registration” of the Fighter alarm control panel. A step-by-step guide to linking a key fob for each specific model has its own characteristics. For comparison, we will describe this process using the example of two popular models:

  1. Fighter F – 31. Procedure:
      switching to programming mode (turn the ignition on and off twice, then press the Valet button and hold it, a long alarm will notify you that the system is ready);
  2. recording the key fob (press any button on the key fob, one short beep means that the remote control has been successfully memorized by the system).
  3. Fighter F – 14. Applicable scheme:
      switching to programming mode (turn the ignition on and off 7 times, one light flash and activation of the status indicator will notify you that the system is ready);
  4. recording the key fob (press the left button of the key fob, the alarm will confirm the identification with three short light signals).

What unites all Fighter alarms is the last stage of the key fob binding process: to record additional key fobs, we repeat the last step as many times as the PU is supposed to be registered in the system memory.

There are situations when the owner of a vehicle is faced with the question: how to determine the model using the key fob (in most cases, after purchasing a used car with an alarm already installed on it). You need to look for answers on the World Wide Web. It is there that there is all the necessary information regarding the topic: how to recognize the model by the key fob (alarm systems Panther, Starline, Tomahawk, Fighter and others can be easily recognized using their control panel, this is not a problem).

As for programming functions and modes, this action is not much different from binding a key fob. The instruction manual gives clear instructions that you just need to follow and then everything will work out!

Food for thought

Despite the fact that Fighter alarm systems belong to economy class security systems, they are quite capable of competing with more expensive brands not only in terms of security, but also in terms of functionality.

  1. StarLine. The fighter f 14 model (like most other F series systems) can easily be called a simplified version of Starline v9. It can also offer a silent security mode, automatic door unlocking/locking, security modes (panic, anti-burglary), passive engine blocking, and other protective and service functions useful for the user. Yes, it loses a little in terms of optional equipment (no feedback, no ability to work with a GSM and/or GPS module), but it takes its toll due to its attractive price.
  2. Tomahawk. The stealth fighter alarm (S – 111, for example), which already has a minimum set of necessary functions in its arsenal, requires the installation of additional elements, in particular a pager, a remote control module for starting the engine, position and volume sensors, which significantly expand its capabilities and degree of comfort. Exactly the same “optional equipment” is recommended for such a popular alarm model as the Tomahawk TW-7010 (which, it should be noted, is more expensive).

Analogies can be made with other products from well-known brands (Pantera, Mongoose, Pandora, APS, Alligator, Pharaon and others), but the conclusion is always clear: more expensive does not mean better.

Fighter alarms may not yet boast worldwide fame, but they are quite capable of satisfying the needs of those who value practicality and reliability for little money! And there are many such car enthusiasts in our country!

High protection efficiency

Fighter alarms use KeeLoq® standard dynamic code for signal encoding and protection against interception. Dynamic encryption involves applying a unique code each time you press control keys on the remote control. The cipher is changed according to a certain pattern, which is known only to the receiver and transmitter.

The intercepted code cannot be reused because the next command will generate the next one. Dynamic encryption technology has made it possible to reduce the cost of security systems while maintaining an acceptable level of security.

Dynamic code does not provide a complete guarantee against hacking of the security system.

Comfortable operation

To control alarms, key fobs with one-way and two-way communication are used. Remote controls with two-way communication and display are used in the Revolution system. Depending on the model, the control panels have two, three or four function buttons.

Example of key fobs

The minimum set of functions controlled by the key fob includes:

  • remote control of locks;
  • automatic closing of door locks when arming;
  • automatic reconnection of the security mode;
  • Silent activation and disarming of security is possible;
  • turbo timer.

Affordable installation and connection

The popularity of Fighter alarms is due to the ease of installation available to the average owner. For connection, several wiring harnesses are used, which are connected to the on-board network or to devices included in the delivery kit. Setting up a security system does not require deep knowledge of electronics and vehicle design.

The installation instructions supplied with the kit consist of sections:

  • recommendations for the location and installation of components;
  • wiring diagram with tips and common wiring connections.

Varieties and models

At various times the following systems were sold on the Russian market:

  • Fighter F-14 (was popular in 2000-04);
  • Fighter F-15;
  • Fighter F-16 and 16B;
  • Fighter F-15 or Stealth;
  • Fighter Jet;
  • Fighter Revolution (the first model with autostart, appeared around 2005).

Today, Fighter alarms are practically not found on the Russian security systems market.

Pros and cons of devices

Positive aspects of the systems:

  • low cost;
  • use of dynamic protection;
  • universal settings.

Negative characteristics:

  • due to price reductions, keychains have a weak design;
  • no displays;
  • most models do not have an automatic engine start system;
  • unclear programming documentation.

The owner of a car with the Fighter security system installed should remember that the alarm system belongs to the budget segment and one should not expect increased resistance to burglary from it.

Varieties and model range

There are the following model ranges of Fighter alarms:

  1. Jet. A series of anti-theft devices are equipped with an engine blocking system that is triggered by unauthorized opening of doors, turning on the ignition and mechanical impacts on the body.
  2. Revolution. The alarm line is equipped with a function to enable protective mode when the engine is running. It is also possible to automatically start the engine upon the driver’s command or pre-selected parameters.
  3. Fighter Excellent. Excelent alarms have a wider range of functions, including AntiHiJack, Turbo Timer, Anti-Robbery options.
  4. Jerry. Security systems are equipped with the function of gradual disabling of security with the introduction of a password, activation of protection with the engine running.

How to install

According to the user manual, installation of the Fighter F 90 anti-theft system involves the following steps:

  • placement of the processor unit (installed under the dashboard and secured with self-tapping screws);
  • installation of a siren (the part is fixed in the engine compartment away from the intake valve);
  • installation of the limit switch (the part included in the kit is installed on the hood, the wires are laid towards the head unit under the interior trim);
  • installation of a shock sensor (placed on the partition separating the passenger compartment from the engine compartment, the sensitivity regulator must be accessible to the driver);
  • placement of the transceiver module (the part is installed at the highest point of the windshield, away from metal objects and electronic devices);
  • installation of a service button (the key is installed so that it cannot be detected by hijackers);
  • connecting components (installation cables are connected to the connectors according to the diagram contained in the instructions).

Installation Guide

Before installing the alarm system, you must unpack the kit, check the contents and the absence of external defects. Then you should study the wiring diagram, which will allow you to think through the installation process.

Direct installation consists of the following steps:

  1. The processing unit is located hidden inside the car. The preferred mounting location is the dashboard. The unit is mounted at a distance from metal surfaces and standard electronic devices. For fixing, self-tapping screws are used (there are standard fastening points on the body) or plastic ties. Installing the product under the hood is strictly prohibited.
  2. Place the antenna wire under the panel. The manufacturer prohibits stripping the cable of insulation and twisting it into coils, as this leads to a decrease in the operating range of the control panels. The antenna installation line is placed as far as possible from metal body parts that can shield the signal.
  3. Install the indicator diode in a convenient place. The owner must see the flashing, both while driving and outside the car. The diode can be mounted in a specially drilled hole. Before drilling, you need to make sure that there are no wiring or control units in this area.
  4. Place a service button. The key is located hidden, but the user must have unhindered access to the installation site. When operating the button, the owner should see the control diode.
  5. If the delivery package includes a separate button for turning on the “Anti-theft” function, it should be placed in the driver’s seat area.
  6. Install a sensor in the cabin. The manufacturer recommends placing the device on the engine panel or on the central wiring harness. The owner or installer must have access to the sensor mounting location, since it contains sensitivity adjustment potentiometers.
  7. Place the siren in the engine compartment in a place protected from moisture and heat. It is recommended to turn the socket downwards to prevent condensation from accumulating. The siren is powered from the processor unit or directly from the car battery.
  8. Mount limit switches under the hood or trunk lids. It is possible to use standard indicators located in car locks. The location where the switches are installed should not be flooded with water.

Connection diagram

The wiring is connected after completion of installation work. The vehicle's standard electrical system must first be de-energized.

It is recommended to use a multimeter or voltmeter when checking wiring polarity when connecting the Fighter. Using a test lamp may damage electronic components.

General wiring installation sequence:

  1. The first to be connected is the central connector, which is equipped with a block with 8, 10, 12 or 16 pins (depending on the model). Negative power is supplied from the car body. The positive pole is connected to the wiring going to the ignition switch. The standard cable must have a cross-section no smaller than the conductor in the alarm harness. The connection point is isolated.
  2. Install the 6-pin central locking control harness. The connection depends on the design of the door lock system.
  3. Connect the two two-pin connectors of the diode and the service button.
  4. Reinstall the sensor block (has four pins). If there is an additional volume sensor, it is connected to a separate three-pin connector.
