Not every owner is impressed by the stock design of the dozen's interior. Power unit
The first VAZ-2110 was equipped with an engine with a carburetor and “automatic choke” without the use of a choke lever, which is present in conventional types of carburetor.
The VAZ 2110 engine had a volume of 1.5 liters and a power of 69 hp. pp., which contributed to economical fuel consumption - approximately 7.5 liters per 100 km. A little later, a 1.5-liter injection 16-valve engine debuted, developing 94 horses. It had a DOHC type gas distribution mechanism.
This engine reached the speed mark of 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds, and the maximum speed had already reached 185 kilometers per hour. The technical equipment of the Lada-2110, which had a sixteen-valve engine, looked quite decent compared to inexpensive foreign cars of those years. The last engine update took place in 2004 - then the volume was increased by 100 cubic cm.
The dynamic component of the 69-horsepower engine is unlikely to impress even the driver of the 2106, however, reduced fuel consumption by 12 percent compared to the 99th often lured buyers. The maximum speed with such an engine is about 162 kilometers per hour.
Also, after a while, the injection 8-valve engine 21102 was produced, the power of which was already 78 horses. The first hundred was reached in 14 seconds, and the maximum speed was 170 kilometers per hour.
Despite the more modest power in terms of technical components, when compared with 1.5-liter engines, the new engines boasted more increased torque. More importantly, the 1.6 16v valves did not bend when the timing belt broke, as often happened with 1.5 16v power units.

Transmission

A more complex and comprehensive method is repainting. It is especially relevant given the fact that the VAZ-2109 has not been produced for a long time, and the paintwork of used cars can be damaged. In addition, VAZ bodies, including this model, are characterized by low rigidity. Therefore, in order to increase safety and improve controllability, it can be strengthened. This is done by installing spacers, a safety cage, and additional welding. These body works are some of the most difficult. Due to the high labor intensity, not every user can do such tuning of a VAZ-2109 with their own hands. The easiest way is to install the front strut.
In order to improve dynamic performance and controllability, weight can be reduced. Weight reduction is achieved by replacing standard body elements with similar ones made of composite materials. Most often the hood is replaced. You can go further by replacing the trunk, doors and glass. This becomes especially relevant in the case of strengthening the body, as this increases weight. In any case, the stock VAZ-2109 is already characterized by a small weight of less than 1 ton. But given that all its body elements are metal, with the exception of bumpers, replacing them with composite analogues will give a significant result. The work is simple, but lightweight parts are more expensive than original ones.

Standard optics are not very effective, so tuning VAZ-2109 headlights is common. Usually they are replaced with xenon ones. This can be done in two ways: replace the lenses or install new headlights. - If there is a mechanical window lifter on the rear door panel, the holes for the handles will be 2 cm larger. In this case, the gap is sealed with a special material.
Changing the door trim
Such tuning has the following advantages:

- It becomes possible to install speakers with a diameter of 16 cm.

Unfortunately, self-cladding also has its disadvantages:
- The panel is expensive, but has low quality.
- The panels have such parameters that it will not be possible to install them on a VAZ 2110 without modification.

IMPROVING SOUND INSULATION
The noise level in the VAZ 2110 cabin is quite high. Therefore, car owners independently improve the sound insulation of the car’s interior by using the following materials:
- vibroplast. The material is similar to rubber with an admixture of foil. Fits on all metal surfaces in the cabin. For the interior of a VAZ 2110 you will need 7 sheets measuring 500 by 1000 mm;

SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
Before starting work on soundproofing the interior of the VAZ 2110, it should be disassembled. The dashboard, seats and anything that might interfere with the installation of the soundproofing coating are removed from it.
Dust, dirt and debris are thoroughly removed from all metal surfaces.
Construction mastic is diluted with white spirit so that its consistency becomes similar to very liquid sour cream.
The first stage is pasting the interior with vibroplast. The operation begins from the front of the cabin. Vibroplast sheets are glued under the dashboard using prepared mastic
It is applied with a brush.
Next, the vibroplast is glued to the front and rear doors, from which all trim must first be removed. The next stage is laying the vibroplast on the floor (special attention should be paid to the area of the floor under which the muffler is located).
Now Isolon is glued to the vibroplast. Pieces of the appropriate shape are cut out and attached to the same mastic.
The final stage - foam rubber
It sticks to ordinary “liquid nails”, and not everywhere. Typically, foam rubber is used to treat the space under the dashboard, ceiling and doors. There is no point in laying foam rubber on the floor: under the feet of passengers it will eventually crumble and lose its soundproofing properties. After applying the coating, the VAZ 2110 interior is reassembled.
Engine and transmission
The main task of such manipulations is to make the engine “breathe” better. A car can be compared to a person, only he has gasoline instead of blood, and electrical wiring replaces the nervous system. Both systems require air. The higher the load, the more air is required. Therefore, the car needs to ensure good air flow. The engine power will increase with the replacement of the air filter. It would seem that such a simple detail, but power indicators increase by as much as 8%. After removing the filter, it is necessary to remove the entire throttle assembly. Of course, there will be additional costs, since it will be necessary to purchase an exhaust receiver. But it is necessary to change it, just like the camshaft, only in specialized conditions. In other words, the car will have to be taken to a service center. And this also comes with additional costs, since the car will have to be delivered there by tow truck.
Of course, it will be necessary to replace the exhaust system. It is possible to install a 4-2-1 manifold. According to this scheme, gases merge into two pipes, and then into a common flow.
It would be a good idea to modify the standard transmission. It wouldn't hurt to install a sixth gear. But it should be said that this will require a lot of effort and time. Although the result will justify all the costs. The car will reach its maximum speed very quickly.
Improving the motor
But before that, we ensure maximum ventilation. For this procedure, we change the factory filter of zero resistance or low resistance. This immediately gives an increase of more than 5% of the previous power. The throttle assembly requires a larger valve (54 mm in diameter, for example). You need to look at the receiver as well. It makes the machine sensitive. By lengthening the pipes, the engine will gain speed faster. All? No, this is just the beginning of modernization! Next - it’s more complicated, since it concerns the camshaft.
Usually it is replaced with a more productive one in terms of characteristics.
Attention should also be paid to the exhaust manifold, which is responsible for pushing out exhaust gases. You can also perform chip tuning (but for this execution you will most likely need to contact specialist electricians, unless you understand this matter well enough)
Tuning the interior of the VAZ 2110
At the same time, the emphasis is placed on qualitative improvement of noise insulation performance. Plus, the interior needs to be punched. They mainly use two-color velor. You can use tweed to match the body color. It is necessary to reupholster the seats. This need is dictated by the fact that the factory fabric wears out quickly. When reupholstering, the factory seats must be removed. This makes it much easier to get the job done.
Fragments are carefully cut out from standard material, placed on new material and outlined with a pen. For any constriction, reinforcement with foam rubber is necessary. Its thickness must be at least 5 mm. It would be nice if the seats were covered in leather. They will, of course, not be cheap, but they will last a very long time.
Where does the noise in the top ten come from?
The main sources of noise in the cabin of the 2110 and methods for eliminating them, schematically, are given below:
- noise from the engine compartment can be eliminated by insulating the engine shield and floor with special materials, of which there are plenty on sale;
- noise from wheels and from road gravel and dust can also be removed in several ways - with noise-insulating mastic, plastic fender liners coated with Bimast, or the combined use of both;
- Aerodynamic noise is the most difficult to eliminate, since in this case you will have to set all the gaps between the body panels and the hood, doors, and wings to their nominal value, and this is not so simple and not so effective.
Bumper tuning
The main task of such events is the correct fit of the joints. When tuning is carried out, there should be no gaps or distortions in the bumper. If you tune the bumper on your own, you can use regular mounting foam or polystyrene foam. The choice is determined by what appeals to the owner more and the size of his budget.
Troubleshooting
First you need to know where the VAZ 2110 speed sensor is located, and then check its drive. It is located under the hood, in the engine compartment, next to the exhaust manifold. It is on the heated collector that wires sometimes rub and melt.

Such actions will lead to an increase in the parameters and general characteristics of the engine dynamics. The greatest efficiency can be achieved if the entire assembly is subject to replacement, and not its individual elements.
Algorithm of actions when replacing the camshaft:
- First you need to remove the plastic timing belt cover.
- Then the cylinder head cover is opened.
- When removing the timing belt, use a pry bar.
- Then remove the bolt that secures the camshaft.
- The key and gear are removed.
Install a new camshaft in reverse order. Installing a new sports camshaft will avoid the situation where the engine “knocks its toes”.
Seat tuning
If a person has a keen eye for aesthetic “blunders”, he will notice that there are some holes in the seats of the VAZ 2110. In particular, there are no covers that would cover the air ducts and filter outlets. This can be easily modified. - Self-tapping screw directly on the seat frame.

Tuning the suspension of the VAZ 2110

Without replacing the standard shock absorbers, even installing sports springs will not have the desired effect, and lightweight levers are unlikely to fully reveal themselves unless the silent blocks are replaced. For the suspension to be in perfect condition, it is necessary to replace the silent blocks. In the standard version it is made of rubber. A good alternative would be polyurethane. This material is superior to rubber in homogeneity, which leads to increased rigidity and longer service life.
It's a good idea to tune the brake system. And the point here is not so much about improving ride comfort, but about driver safety. At the same time, the driver will have full control of his driving and will not have to worry about safety.

The number of roaring “ten” on the streets is sometimes simply amazing. At the moment, there is a persistent myth that forward flow significantly increases the output of the power unit. But that's not true. Yes, there is an increase in power, but it is so small that it is almost impossible to notice and feel it.
But this does not stop fans of “loud driving”. And yet, for the system to justify itself, it is necessary to install the entire kit at once:
