The interior of the basic configuration looks dull. This is not the “quiet horror” with a center console made of silver plastic that was at the beginning, but still. The abundance of stubs and empty space produces an extremely negative impression.
When the car is not “empty” and everything is in its place, including the infotainment system screen, the front panel is pleasing to the eye, which is not always the case with the design of VAZ models. By the way, the size of the information screen is quite decent, and the screen itself fits perfectly into the composition of the front panel.
Apart from the aesthetic pleasure of contemplating the front panel, everything else will remain as bad as it was. The driver and passengers are treated to the same narrow seats without a hint of lateral support.
Hard plastic on all sides, traditional, familiar to us assembly. “Crickets” are included with the car, and you cannot refuse this option. You can prepare in advance for the fact that you will drive out of the car dealership in a brand new car with the creaking of plastic parts rubbing against each other.
The range of adjustments for the driver's seat is still too stingy. For the most part, the driver needs to adjust the seating position, rather than adjust the landing position to suit himself. The gearbox on the Priora was largely mechanical, and only in 2014, a robotic gearbox was installed in the luxury trim levels of the car.
Manual transmission
The manual gearbox received 5 steps and went to the Priora from the VAZ 2110; over time, namely in 2014, a cable gearbox replaced the conventional gearbox on the wing. The cable-based gearbox made it possible to reduce vibrations from the lever and make gear shifting more precise. Other parameters in the checkpoint have not changed.
Robotic gearbox
This gearbox is a development of AvtoVAZ. The model of this gearbox is called AMT 2182 and has 5 stages with cone synchronizers. The disadvantage of the gearbox is the frequent failure of the clutch actuator.
What is good and what is bad
All cars that came off the factory assembly line of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant have their own positive characteristics and negative reviews. No exception was the new product, which experts talk about, noting the positive:

- Satisfactory interior ergonomics.
- Acceptable gas mileage.
- General vehicle maintenance.
- Attractive price of the model.
- Good maneuvering qualities with excellent dynamics.
- New reinforced body.
There are shortcomings in the configuration that need to be discussed without hesitating to offend the manufacturers:
- There are only 3 configuration options.
- Lack of choice of power units (2 petrol engines). Installation of a diesel unit is not provided.
- The build quality of the car is not of the highest quality.
- The hard plastic that was used to decorate the interior of the new product is repulsive in appearance and of unworthy quality.
- Poor adjustment of the driver's seat.
- Cramped interior.
- An ill-conceived solution for a sofa for second-row passengers.
Changes for 2022
At the beginning of 2016, the base unit with 98 horsepower was crossed off the list. In order to reduce the cost of the design, the Priora began to be equipped instead with an old eight-valve engine with 87 horsepower (the working volume is the same - 1.6 liters). The torque of the unit is 140 Nm at 3.8 thousand revolutions. This engine is equipped with only a five-speed manual transmission.
The car accelerates to hundreds in 12.5 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 176 kilometers per hour. At the same time, fuel consumption is 7.3 liters per hundred in the combined cycle.
Types of configurations for production models of Lada Priora
The presentation of the model began to be prepared already in 2006, and a year later the first version rolled off the assembly line. The VAZ factory index is 2170. The platform for production was the base from the Lada 110.
Unlike the “10”, the doorways have become wider by 7%. Absolutely new form of optics, hood, luggage compartment lid, fenders, sills. Standard wheels "Kama Euro" 185/65 R14.
High-quality polymer materials were used in the finishing. The upper contour is made in light colors, the lower one in dark colors. The two-tone door trims look great.
On the armrests of the front doors there are pre-installed control units for double-glazed windows, adjustment of side mirrors, and a central locking remote control. The ergonomics of mechanical keys are designed to prevent accidental pressing.
Between the front seats there are two storage compartments for storing small items. On the headliner in the front part there is a lamp with lighting and a place to store sunglasses (see photo).
The information content of the dashboard is good, the indicators are arranged in a cluster, providing a generalized picture of the functionality of the technical tool.
In the central part of the tidy there is a place for a monochrome display of the electronic engine control unit (ECU). Of course, the window is small, but it is quite sufficient for visual diagnostics.
To the left of the steering column there is a control module for side lights, high and low beam. Pre-installed electric headlight adjustment and dashboard brightness control.
The mechanical button for activating the trunk lid has been moved to the central channel. The useful space of the luggage compartment is estimated at 430 liters. Unfortunately, you can open the lid using a button from the inside or on the key fob. There is no mechanical button on the lid itself.
In the center of the dashboard there is a connector for installing a DIN, 2DIN radio (with LCD display).
In the engine compartment there is a 1.6-liter power unit, 98 hp, with a torque of 145 Nm. Transmission type: five-speed manual. In order to increase the efficiency of the braking system, a vacuum booster is pre-installed.
Reinforced shock absorber struts and improved front suspension design improve driving comfort.
All production models of Lada Priora comply with Euro 4 standards. This is possible due to the displacement of the standard catalyst closer to the exhaust manifold. As a result, the catalysis process occurs much faster due to an increase in operating temperature.
Norma and Lux
The basic package includes: airbag, immobilizer, power steering, armrest, central locking.
Lada Priora received a completely new ventilation and interior heating system. Thanks to the efficiency of the stove heater, the microclimate is maintained for a long time.
At the same time, the active safety systems in the “Norma” are not given due attention, unlike in the “Lux”.
The “Lux” is pre-installed with air conditioning, full power accessories, two airbags, and seat belt pretensioners. Externally, you can “recognize” the Lux by the presence of PTF fog lights on the lower edge of the front bumper. As well as alloy wheels, a parking sensor on the rear side.
The body is made of galvanized metal and low-alloy steel. The wheel arches are treated with anti-corrosion coating on both sides. The manufacturer provides a 6-year factory warranty for the body and its elements.
In 2013, AvtoVAZ introduced a restyled version of the Lada Priora with a new body. No significant changes were expected, just minor improvements. Daytime running lights (DRL) are pre-installed, front and rear optics are permeated with LEDs. The radiator grille has a mesh structure.
Like its predecessor, the new Lada Priora is available in four body styles: station wagon, coupe, sedan, hatchback. There are significant changes inside the cabin. The dashboard is covered with a soft-look - increased resistance to scratches, plus piano lacquer inserts in places.
The door cards received new upholstery and reinforced security pillars. The steering wheel is adjustable in height and tilt. Paddle shifters are pre-installed.

These models also differ in height: the hatchback has “grown” to 1435 mm, being 15 mm ahead of the sedan. But the width of the cars is equal, it is 1680 mm. Both cars also have the same ground clearance (165 mm) and track width of the front and rear wheels (1410 mm and 1380 mm, respectively).

You can see Lada Priora on our roads quite often. Basically, cars are purchased by those who do not have enough money to buy a foreign car. Despite everything, the car has a pleasant appearance, adequate fuel consumption, ground clearance and electric power steering. There are no problems with spare parts, and they don’t cost that much.
The suspension handles potholes well, it rattles a little, but that’s normal. Owners of Lada Priora appreciate the presence of air conditioning, a good stove, a good engine and good dynamic characteristics. Car owners do not like the build quality, budget interior, lack of noise insulation, frequent breakdowns, problems with doors and the rapid appearance of rust.
It is uncomfortable to sit inside the car; the only way to save the situation is to buy new seats with good lateral support. There is not always enough free space, the thin steering wheel is very uncomfortable.
