When the engine control unit (ECU) records trouble code P0132, it indicates that there is some problem with the oxygen sensor. To be more specific, when the ECU detects that the oxygen sensor voltage exceeds 450 millivolts for more than twenty seconds, the P0132 trouble code is triggered.

The main job of the O2 sensor is to monitor the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases. This information is necessary to ensure optimal engine performance and minimal contamination. Any problem with the oxygen sensor will disrupt vehicle performance and cause trouble code P0132.

What does P0363 mean?

To detect misfires, the PCM uses data from the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors and also takes into account the number of engine revolutions per minute. If the PCM detects that the camshaft or crankshaft position has changed and is abnormal under current conditions, or that the actual engine speed is not at the required value, it will assume that one of the engine cylinders is misfiring. In this case, the PCM will cut off fuel to that cylinder and store P0363.

Symptoms of malfunction

The main driver symptom of P0363 is the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). It is also called Check engine or simply “check light”. They can also appear as:

  1. Rough or intermittent engine operation, especially when accelerating.
  2. Reduced performance as well as engine power.

Causes of error P0363

How does a mechanic diagnose a P0363 code?

The mechanic will first visually inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace all loose, frayed, shorted, damaged or corroded wires, connectors and other electrical components. He will then clear the error codes from the PCM memory and test drive the vehicle to see if P0363 appears again. If the error code appears again, the mechanic will continue to diagnose. It will perform diagnostics until it finds a problem.

Along with error P0363, you can also observe the following error codes P1301, P1302, P1303, P1304 - these codes indicate in which cylinder(s) 1, 2, 3 or 4, respectively, misfire occurred. A diagnostic device is connected to the client's car, the ignition is turned on and the car engine starts. Then you need to go to the “Signal Monitoring” section and try to reproduce the conditions under which the error code appears. If error codes are recorded, proceed to check the compression and valve timing. In most cases, after checking and troubleshooting, the error goes away and the car's operation returns to normal. After detecting the P0363 code using an OBD-II scanner and checking all electrical components, the mechanic will do the following:

  • Inspects and, if necessary, repairs or replaces worn or damaged ignition system components such as spark plugs, ignition coils, distributor cap, fuel filter, and related wires.
  • Replace the appropriate spark plug and ignition coil on a cylinder that is working properly to determine which component is faulty.
  • Takes oxygen sensor readings to determine if a vacuum leak is present and, if necessary, repairs or replaces a worn or damaged vacuum hose.
  • Check and, if necessary, clean the clogged catalytic converter
  • Repairs or replaces a faulty fuel injector.

After probably 2-3 minutes, the engine starts to stall, the check light is on (they took the car to an electrician, they say there is a misfire in cylinder 4). Changed the coils - still the same. Changed the spark plugs - still the same.

If you turn off the engine and start it, the engine stops, but the check light is on. After about 20 minutes of driving, the check light stops lighting. If the car sits overnight, you start it and what I described above happens. Then during the day everything is fine.

How to treat? I looked at the forums. The problem is the same, but there are tons of solutions, including disassembling the engine. But the car is new. It's not even a year. Please don’t throw your slippers too hard, I’m not good at these things. Thank you!

Lately I have had to adapt misfires; apparently, when I remove the terminals from the battery, the ECU settings are reset (electronic control unit, or in simple terms - the brains).
Although this was not observed in winter, when I removed the battery for recharging, i.e. I charged the battery, put it back in place and the car drove as before. As soon as the problems with the throttle valve started and the specialists from the official dealer “wired my brains”, so after that I have to make this adjustment. In the second half of May, the car was at the OD for a week, they recognized the problems with the throttle valve as a warranty issue and said that they would change it, but in the end they limited themselves to “brain firmware.” And when I picked up the car and drove off, the car wouldn’t move at all, I pressed on the gas, the instantaneous consumption was more than 30 liters, and it barely accelerated, but after adaptation everything became normal. I had to do it the second time after replacing the antifreeze, because... If I removed the positive terminal from the starter, I also removed the negative terminal from the battery, to avoid a short circuit. After replacing the antifreeze, I also felt that the car was not driving right, but after adaptation everything became normal. The screenshot above describes the entire setup cycle, I’ll add on my own behalf that before making this adaptation, you need to remove both terminals from the battery and wait 5-10 minutes, I myself waited half an hour, and then drive it immediately in second gear. When I left the garage, after replacing the antifreeze, I drove around the city in different gears and felt that the car was not driving as well as before, I drove onto a straight line, made an adjustment in second gear, but it did nothing.
