  • clogged injector fittings;
  • the supply tube has come off;
  • kinking of the tube.

The malfunction can be determined by inspecting the tubes from the motor to the injectors. If there are no areas with kinks and the tube has not fallen off, then the reason lies in clogged nozzles, which can be cleaned with a sewing needle and blown out with a compressor.

Testing the fuse should only be done on a dismantled (removed) fuse. The resistance of a good fuse is close to zero. In most types of fuses, the thread of its working area is visible through the light or is located outside the body part. You can only get to it from below, and you can find the correct plug by disconnecting the supposed one and checking the operation of the wipers; if, when you turn the lever to position 1, the windshield wiper is not activated, then the device is turned off.

What does it consist of?

On the outside, the windshield wiper relay is a small black box with an outgoing wire up to 15cm long. If you take it apart, there is an electrical board inside on which electronic elements are located. They are assembled according to a certain pattern, which determines its performance. So, as can be seen in the figure, the relay consists of the following main parts:

  1. Electromagnetic coil;
  2. Microcontroller type HP37;
  3. Capacitor;
  4. Resistor.

These are the main elements, as can be seen in the photo, there are also some resistors, but the one located near the controller at number 4 plays an important role. Four power wires are connected to the board, through which signals are transmitted from the relay.

How the device works

The windshield wiper operates via an electric motor, relay, fuse, switch and 12V power. Current is supplied to electromagnetic coil 1, located on the printed circuit board, when the wipers are turned on. The coil includes a movable armature, a winding and closing upper and lower contacts. The coil, having received power, pulls the armature away from the core, thereby opening the upper contacts, and the lower ones close accordingly. At the base of the coil there is a bracket with a bimetallic plate. This plate is wrapped with thin nichrome wire through which current flows. The current accordingly heats the plate and it bends, opening the contacts. After a while, the plate cools down and returns to its previous position. When the contacts open, an emf is induced in the coil. To suppress this electromotive force, a 62 kOhm resistor is connected parallel to the winding (located near the controller in Figure 1, number 4).

Operation scheme: power is supplied to the relay, in which the contacts are closed by triggering the coil, the electric motor receives power and is activated. In 1-3 seconds, the bimetallic plate heats up and fires, turning off the power from the motor. When the wiper blades have returned to their original position, the plate has cooled down and is activated again. Resistor 4, which cuts off the self-induced EMF, creates the same delay pause that determines the frequency of operation of the wipers. This is how the windshield wiper moves.

  2. use the switch located near the steering wheel to turn on the wiper switch;
  3. Using a tester, you need to check whether there is voltage at the terminal.

If there is no power, the switch needs to be replaced. The reason may be a break in the control circuit, so it is necessary to find and eliminate this defect. If there is power, but the relay does not operate, then it needs to be replaced. The relay cannot be repaired, so it only needs to be replaced.

The electric motor of the cleaner does not function

If the electric motor does not work, but there is voltage at its contacts, then the problem is in the device itself. This could be wear on the brushes or failure of the windings. The brushes wear out over time, and the winding fails when the motor is overloaded. These products can be repaired, but for this you need to contact a workshop.

They fall down, and after shaking a little - twisting carefully in different directions, the job is done!

All that remains is to disconnect the gearbox and crank using the end nut (size 10 mm), and also unscrew the 3 nuts with which the trapezoid (bracket) is attached to the gearbox, now you can replace the motor.

In conclusion, we advise: if you have good knowledge of electrical engineering, the circuit diagram is no secret to you and you read it, are comfortable with a soldering iron, you can take on the wipers of the VAZ 2107. Repairing and adjusting them will not be difficult for you; if not, then actions such as replacing the gearbox and fuse, as well as the relay are quite accessible to you.

How to replace the wiper relay?

To replace this relay, you need to move or completely remove the dashboard. To do this, you need to remove the plastic covers from the interior heater control levers.

Then you need to remove the plastic plug located on the right side of these levers.

Now you need to firmly grasp the right side of the tidy with your hands and gently pull it towards you.

To get a little more space, you can wedge the tidy by inserting an object into the space between it and the panel. F1 (10 A) - lamps in the reversing lights, heater (heater electric motor), heated rear window .
