Daewoo Nexia air filter: where it is located and how to determine the condition, step-by-step instructions for replacing it yourself, a list of necessary tools and advice from motorists

Owners of a Daewoo Nexia must promptly replace car consumables so that the engine can operate without interruption and the power resource is preserved. If you promptly change the element that purifies the air entering the engine, then the windows will fog up less and the air in the cabin will be cleaner. Among other things, a dirty filter is a breeding ground for bacteria and germs, which gradually lead to respiratory diseases.

The article provides step-by-step instructions for replacing the air filter yourself, as well as information on how to choose the right filter and what is the frequency of its replacement.

Replacing the Daewoo Nexia fuel filter

The fuel filter is installed on the bottom of the car, on the starboard side, next to the fuel tank. We carry out the work on an inspection ditch or overpass. The fuel in the Daewoo Nexia engine power system is under pressure. Therefore, before servicing the power system, it is necessary to relieve the fuel pressure. To do this, with the ignition off, remove the fuel pump relay from the mounting block in the instrument panel. In the photo below the relay is indicated by an arrow.

We start the engine and let it idle until it stops due to the exhaustion of fuel in the system. Then turn on the starter for 2-3 seconds. As a result, the pressure in the power system will be relieved.

Holding the filter with a 21 wrench, use a 16 wrench to unscrew the fuel pipe fitting, gradually bleeding the gasoline into the substituted container. Similarly, disconnect the fitting of the other fuel pipe.

Using a 13mm spanner, unscrew the filter clamp bolt. Then you can remove the fuel filter.

When replacing the fuel filter, check the condition of the rubber O-rings of the fuel pipes.

If necessary, replace the O-rings with new ones.

The arrow on the fuel filter should be directed in the direction of fuel flow (towards the front of the car).

When installing a new filter, attach the fuel pipe fittings by hand and tighten them one by one. We tighten the bolt securing the clamp.

Having installed a new filter, check the tightness of the connections while the engine is running. Naturally there should be no leaks.

Replacing the air filter of the Daewoo Nexia engine

To replace the replacement air filter element on the F16D3 engine (16-valve), disconnect the wiring harness block from the air temperature sensor (the sensor is located on the air supply hose to the throttle body).

Loosen the clamp securing the sleeve to the cover of the air filter housing and disconnect the sleeve from the cover. On the A15SMS engine (8-valve), disconnect the wiring harness block from the air temperature sensor located in the filter cover and disconnect the sleeve from the cover.

We release the air filter housing cover latches, one on the left side, one on the front and two on the rear. In the photo, the spring latches are marked with arrows.

After removing the cover, take out the replacement air filter element.

Clean the cavity of the filter housing. We install the new replacement element in the reverse order.

Replacing the Daewoo Nexia air filter with your own hands

When a person breathes clean air, he feels good. If this air is polluted, then it is difficult for a person to breathe, she begins to choke, her general physical condition worsens, and illnesses may even appear. For some reason, many car enthusiasts believe that this example cannot be attributed to cars. They are wrong. Like a person, a car engine simply needs clean air. If such air does not enter it, then first it will begin to “cough”, and later it will completely “suffocate”.

To prevent this from happening, the Deo Nexia air filter should be replaced every 10,000 kilometers, or after the first signs of a “cough”. This procedure is very simple and does not require additional tools. Therefore, let's start replacing:

Replacing the Daewoo Nexia air filter with your own hands

1. Remove the sensor from the VF cover. 2. Tighten the clamp on the air filter cover itself. Let's weaken it. 3. There are latches on the cover. We bend them in the other direction. 4. Now nothing prevents you from removing the cover. Let's do it. 5. We see the old VF. Let's get him.

6. The place where the filter was just located is probably dirty. We clean it with a damp cloth, leaving no traces of dust and dirt. 7. Install a new filter. 8. Cover the lid and snap it into place. 9. Clamp the clamp. 10. Install the sensor on the VF cover.

Your engine has taken the necessary “medicine” and now for some time it will breathe only clean air again. Why does he need clean air? The fact is that the combustion that occurs inside the engine slows down if the air is dirty. If there is no air supply at all, the combustion reaction will not occur. Note that in the previous article we looked at how to replace the rear brake pads on a Daewoo Nexia with your own hands, and also published a video tutorial that will make the repair much easier for you.

Need for replacement

The air cleaning element is an important car consumable that requires timely replacement. So, according to statistics, a car consumes up to 15 cubic meters of air per 100 km. This air requires mandatory cleaning, otherwise dust and dirt will enter the engine. This will lead to breakdown, failure of the car’s power unit and the need to repair or replace the engine.

The replacement period for the Daewoo Nexia air filter, specified by the manufacturer, is 30 thousand kilometers. But the realities of Russian roads indicate the need to replace the filter after 15 thousand kilometers . A number of car owners change it at the same time as changing the oil, or every other time.

If the car is driven on rural roads that have not seen asphalt, after 6-8 thousand kilometers it is necessary to inspect the filter for its suitability for further use.

The functions of the air filter , in addition to purifying the air entering the engine, are a noise muffler and a temperature regulator for the combustible mixture (in gasoline engines).

As the cleaning element is used, it becomes clogged, which means its resistance to air flow increases, preventing a sufficient amount of air from entering the engine. The driver should pay attention to signs of the need to replace the filter , which are:

  • due to lack of air, the mixture becomes enriched and its combustion is incomplete;
  • engine power performance decreases;
  • the driver will be able to note increased fuel consumption;
  • increase in toxins in exhaust gases.

The air filter, which needs to be changed according to the deadlines specified in the maintenance regulations, or based on existing symptoms, will preserve the engine life and solve this problem.

Filter selection

How to choose the right air filter for Daewoo Nexia? To begin with, the driver should decide on two main characteristics of air filters - what type of structural element is required for the selected car model, as well as what cleaning material the filter is required from - paper, synthetics, etc.

So, according to the design , the cleaning elements are:

Material from which it is made:

  • cardboard;
  • synthetic fibers;
  • multi-layer gauze soaked in special oils (relevant for sports cars).

Air purifier for Daewoo Nexia

Having made a choice in favor of a specific filter (which ones are required for the Daewoo Nexia will be described later in the article), the driver takes out the filter already in the car and visually inspects it. Such actions are resorted to when the driver is not sure that it is time to change the air purifying element. If the filter is dirty and traces of oil can be seen, replacement is no longer delayed. With a clean filter you can continue driving. It is also worth focusing on the realities of the roads on which the car is driven. In highly dusty and sandy areas, it is necessary to change the part 2 times more often than specified.

Where is it located? The air filter on Daewoo Nexia cars is located to the left of the engine (if the driver is standing in front of the hood).

The housing is located to the left of the vehicle's power unit

The housing is secured by three supports; inside there is filter material in the form of a flat rectangular shape. Special pipes are attached to the body through which air is supplied to the engine.

Replacing the Daewoo Nexia air filter

The location of the air filter in Daewoo Nexia is the front right side of the engine compartment. The body is secured with three supports. Inside it there is a filter element, flat in the shape of a rectangle, made of specially impregnated paper, with a significant filtering surface area.

Corrugated rubber pipes are connected to the air filter housing, through which air is supplied. They fit into the body from the throttle body, intake silencer and plastic air duct.

When to change the air filter

Purified air is freely supplied to the engine through the air filter. If the filter is not replaced in a timely manner, microparticles will begin to enter the engine, and this will contribute to accelerated wear in the engine piston group and significantly increase fuel consumption. For Daewoo Nexia cars, the manufacturer recommends scheduled replacement of the air filter every 20,000 km.

The owner can become familiar with the timing of filter replacement by opening the service book. As practice shows, taking into account our climatic conditions and operating conditions, it is better to replace the air filter element earlier, after about 10-15,000 km. You can easily perform the replacement yourself, without contacting a service station, the main thing is to follow some recommendations.

Replacing the air filter

To change the air filter on a Daewoo Nexia car yourself, you will only need a screwdriver and the air filter itself, which can be easily found in stock and purchased. Its cost will be in the range of 250-300 rubles.

  1. There is a lock on the air filter housing; press it out and disconnect the block with the wiring harness from the air intake temperature sensor located on the air filter cover.
  2. The air filter is attached to the sleeve that conducts air using a clamp; loosen it and remove the sleeve from the fitting on the filter.
  3. The air filter housing cover is secured with four spring clips, unfasten them and remove the cover.
  4. Pull the air filter element out of the housing by slightly pulling it upward.
  5. If necessary, wipe the air filter housing to remove accumulated dust and dirt.
  6. Take the new filter element and insert it into the housing, following the alignment marks.
  7. Place the air filter housing cover in place and secure it with the spring clips.

Consequences of untimely replacement

You should not ignore the importance of the air filter, as you can damage the car’s power unit. What are the consequences of such actions?

At first the car will lose its power . This is directly related to the fact that the filter walls are dirty, which means the amount of air that can enter the cylinders is reduced. This will lead to poor fuel combustion and a rich mixture. The result is increased fuel consumption and reduced engine efficiency.

The next stage and the consequence of untimely replacement is that the engine will start worse , the instability of idle speed , leading to a rapid increase in gasoline consumption.

Ultimately, dirt, dust, and grains of sand will accumulate on the walls of the filter, entering the cylinder block and scratching its walls . This leads to poor sliding, depressurization of the combustion chamber , loss of compression and power of the power unit.

The end result is that the rings will become unusable and the engine will require major overhaul . But it is worth noting that drivers rarely bring the situation to a critical point, and as soon as the car starts to have trouble starting, they immediately change a consumable such as the air filter.

Tips for the driver

To ensure that the car runs smoothly, experienced car owners give practical advice that is worth listening to:

  • The filter element must be periodically removed from the box and inspected. You can extend its service life by simply shaking the filter, which will clean it of dust and small particles of sand, dirt, etc.;
  • It is also necessary to inspect the filter before the time specified in the regulations or technical passport in order to promptly identify problems such as damage, cracks, severe contamination, and abrasions. If problems of this kind are detected, the cleaning part is replaced;
  • during replacement work, it is necessary to clean the housing from dust and dirt that has settled on it;
  • It is unacceptable to start a car if the housing with a filter has been removed from it or if there is no cleaning element in the box, since dust and small particles of dirt get into the engine cylinders, which subsequently leads to system failure;
  • Change filters more often if the car is used in dusty areas.

By following these tips, you can avoid unplanned repairs and breakdowns.

Useful tips

  • Between scheduled air filter replacements, it is worth periodically removing the filter element and cleaning it from accumulated dust and dirt. It can be shaken vigorously and blown with compressed air, doing this in the opposite direction of air flow when the filter is installed on the engine.
  • Constant monitoring of the condition of the air filter filter element between replacements will allow you to promptly detect the presence of possible damage, cracks, ruptures, or simply severe contamination. If you find any malfunctions of this kind, the air filter element will require early replacement.
  • When replacing the filter element, be sure to clean the inside of the air filter housing; it should be wiped with a clean rag to remove dirt and dust.
  • Do not start the engine with the air filter housing removed or with no filter element in it. This can result in contaminated air containing dirt and dust particles entering the engine cylinders unpurified. Which in turn can cause rapid wear of the components of the motor group.
  • Under difficult operating conditions of the vehicle, for example, in heavily dusty areas, the filter element will require more frequent replacement.
  • When removing the filter element from the housing, you will have to unfasten the spring latches attached to the plastic parts. Over time, the material may become outdated, which will lead to breakdown, be careful.

Is it possible to reuse an old filter?

Note! Contaminated air filters can no longer be reused - such parts only need to be disposed of.

In most filters, the cleaning element is corrugated paper, which is easily damaged when trying to clean or wash it - attempts to restore a dirty filter will only lead to even more dust getting into the internal combustion chambers. The air filter is a consumable item on which it is not recommended to skimp!

Filter element and its features

The air filter element is an important component in the air purification system and has a direct impact on the performance of the vehicle. The air filter prevents dust and dirt particles from contaminating the engine. Atmospheric air is an excellent oxidizer for the air-fuel mixture, which is involved in the combustion process in the engine cylinders.

The air filter element is necessary to clean the air supplied to the engine during operation. The standard type of air filter is a layer of filter paper laid in an accordion, framed by plastic seals that prevent dirty, unfiltered air from entering the engine.

When the air filter is new, it catches the smallest particles contained in the air, but with prolonged use the element becomes clogged, its throughput decreases, which leads to a deterioration in its performance and at the same time the engine power characteristics are reduced. The main task of a car enthusiast is to timely replace the air filter element, especially since this procedure is the simplest and can be done independently, even by an inexperienced car owner.

How to change the air filter on a Daewoo Nexia?

If you change the air filter in your Daewoo Nexia car correctly and on time, the engine will run without interruption, and its service life will increase significantly. In addition, the air in the cabin will become much cleaner, the stove will work better and the windows will stop fogging up. Also, do not forget that a dirty filter is a breeding ground for mold and bacteria.

The period for replacing an air purifier for any car is individual and depends on the conditions in which the car is operated.

If you mainly drive around the city, on clean and dust-free roads, then you need to change it every 15,000-20,000 kilometers.

But if the car is driven on unpaved rural roads, then it is better to reduce the replacement period to 6000-8000 kilometers.

Air purifier for Daewoo Nexia

The air barrier on the Daewoo Nexia is needed to purify the air that is supplied to the power unit during operation. A conventional air purifier is a layer of special paper, which is folded like an accordion and placed in a plastic rectangular case.

A working air barrier is capable of trapping even the smallest particles in the air, but with prolonged use it becomes clogged and its capacity is reduced. Subsequently, this can lead to a decrease in power and interruptions in its operation. To prevent this from happening, you need to change the air purifier in a timely manner. The process is very simple and any car enthusiast can handle it.

Air filter location

The air filter in the Daewoo Nexia is located to the left of the engine when standing in front of the hood.

The box is located to the left of the engine

The body is supported by three supports. There is filter material inside the housing. The filter element has a flat rectangular shape and has a large filtration surface.

Special tubes are connected to the body through which air is supplied.

Replacement instructions

Replacing the air barrier is probably the simplest job in car servicing and will take no more than 15-20 minutes even for an inexperienced car enthusiast.

Tools

To change the air purifier on a Daewoo Nexia car, we do not need any special tools, just a regular screwdriver, the barrier itself and an old clean rag.

Stages

  1. The first step is to park the car on a flat surface. When we open the hood, the filter box is located to the left of the engine in the corner.
  2. There is a sensor on the cover. To disconnect it, you need to lift the latch.
  3. Next, disconnect the intake air duct by slightly loosening the clamp securing it.
  4. We unclip the four latches on the box lid.
  5. Let's take it off.
  6. We remove the old filter element.
  7. We wipe the box with a rag.
  8. We install a new one.
  9. We put the cover on and snap the latches.
  10. We connect all the pipes and secure them.

Location of the box Raise the clamp Unscrew the bolt on the clamp Unsnap the clamps Take out the old element Wipe the installation site of the new one with a clean rag

At this point the replacement process can be considered complete. Everything is very simple and there is no point in delaying replacement, because this may damage the components and systems of the power unit.

Useful tips

If you want your car's engine to work long and smoothly, then listen to some recommendations from experienced car owners.

  • Sometimes you need to remove the filter and clean it of accumulated dust and dirt. To do this, just shake it or blow it with compressed air. Important! This is done in the opposite direction to air movement when the filter element is installed on the engine.
  • Inspect the filter occasionally in order to promptly identify possible damage, cracks, abrasions, or simply heavy contamination. If such malfunctions are detected, immediately replace the barrier.
  • During replacement, be sure to clean the inner surface of the case from any dirt and dust that has settled on its walls.
  • You cannot start the engine if the filter housing is removed or if the filter element is removed from it. This may result in dust particles and dirt entering the cylinders of the power unit and subsequent failure of these components.
  • If the machine is operated in a very dusty area, the filters need to be changed more often.

  • Replacing the Daewoo Nexia air filter

    The air filter, like many elements of a car, is a consumable that must be replaced regularly.

    Timely replacement of the air filter is very important for the engine. Since if you neglect the service life of this unit, the engine may not have enough air to create an optimal air-fuel mixture. And this can directly affect the resource and capabilities of the main unit of the car.

    The replacement interval for this element is indicated in the car's service book, usually it is 15 - 20 thousand kilometers when driving in clean conditions, and 6 - 8 thousand kilometers if the car is subjected to harsh conditions - driving on rough terrain, in places with polluted air, etc. .

    As you know, an air filter is needed to clean the incoming air; it is capable of catching even the smallest air particles, which guarantees the delivery of clean air to the engine fuel system.

    The process of installing an air filter on Daewoo Nexia

    The replacement process itself is quite simple and can be done by every car enthusiast who at least sometimes does something to his car himself.

    First you need to open the hood and find the air filter housing itself - a rather large black box, which is located on the left side of the engine compartment. It is quite easy to identify by the large black pipe extending from it.

    Photo from the site filtrzamena.ru

    The replacement process does not take very long. And, even in the absence of skills, it can take no more than twenty minutes.

    Directly above the cover there is a sensor that must be removed first. With a gentle movement of your hand, this is quite easy to do. Next, we find the clamp that secures the air duct pipe. Carefully, without much effort, unclip the four latches from the air filter housing. After this, the cover can be easily removed.

    Next, you need to remove the old filter element. After this, take a dry rag and wipe the seat of the filter element. This place should be dry and clean.

    It is often enough to clean the filter element itself using a compressor. Although, it costs little money. So in any case, it’s easier to buy a new one and put it in place of the old one. Aiko recommends using the A0438 air filter.

    Do-it-yourself oil change in Daewoo Nexia engine

    It’s clear what to look for when choosing engine oil and how to determine the need to replenish lubricant or replace it. The next question is how to change the oil in a Daewoo Nexia engine with your own hands. Step-by-step instructions are given below.

    The first stage is installing the machine. To carry out the replacement without complications, the car must be on a level surface, and the driver must be able to crawl under it. The machine is installed on an overpass, over a pit or on a lift.

    The second stage is preparing the necessary tools and materials. The list includes:

    • Oil replacement or topping up, selected according to the above tips for inexperienced drivers who recently purchased Daewoo Nexia;
    • New filter;
    • O-ring for drain plug;
    • Filter puller. Yes, the filter is often installed and removed by hand, but, for reliability, it is better to use a tool;
    • A 5-liter container into which used lubricant will drain: pan, bucket, canister, etc.;
    • Thick gloves and, for “dirty” procedures - construction mittens;
    • A set of keys (primarily for 18, but others may be required);
    • Screwdriver;
    • Funnel;
    • Rags.

    This concludes the list of tools and materials and you can proceed directly to work.

    The procedure for changing the oil in a Daewoo Nexia engine with your own hands:

    1. Warm up the engine with a short trip or idling - 4-5 minutes is enough;
    2. Place the machine on an overpass, over a pit or on a lift;
    3. Open the car hood;
    4. Find the oil filler neck (with a picture of an oil can), unscrew it and remove it;
    5. If the car has engine protection, remove it;
    6. Place a container for used oil under the drain plug;
    7. Unscrew the plug with a key. You can also do it with your hands, if your strength allows, but wear gloves so as not to get burned;
    8. Drain the used lubricant. To do this you need to wait from 5 to 20 minutes. It will not be possible to drain all the “working off”, but this is not required. Residues will not affect engine performance;
    9. Using a wrench, unscrew the used filter element. You can also unscrew it with your gloved hands (the filter is hot after a trip), if you have enough strength;
    10. Wipe the parts stained with old grease with a rag;
    11. Wipe the filter ring with oil;
    12. Install a new filter. When tightening it, you can use keys, if you are careful. Ideally, it is best to tighten it tightly by hand to ensure there is no damage;
    13. Screw in the drain plug;
    14. Using a funnel, pour new oil into the tank. It is better to fill in the same volume that was drained (hence, it is desirable that the container with the spilled “working off” be marked with divisions), and then you can add until the mark between MIN and MAX is reached on the dipstick;
    15. Reinstall all the parts removed during the process and wipe everything with a rag again;
    16. Start the engine and monitor the oil level sensor. If it goes out after 15-20 seconds, everything is fine. If not, you need to check the engine for possible malfunctions;
    17. Inspect the vehicle and the surface underneath again for fresh oil stains. If there is no “leak”, you can go.

    It is recommended not to throw away used oil immediately. With its help, you can “diagnose” engine problems in advance. Just look at the color of the “working out”. If it is homogeneous, there is nothing to worry about. If there is sand, shavings or other foreign elements in it, if there are circles of antifreeze left, the engine needs to be inspected by a specialist and repaired.

    Features of changing oil in engines with 8 and 16 valves

    Now to the question of the similarities and differences in the procedure for changing the oil in a Daewoo Nexia engine with 8 and 16 valves. In general, these models are very similar, but the one equipped with 8 valves is more reliable (if the timing belt breaks on it, it does not damage the engine, but on the 16-valve model, this causes the valves to bend), and the 16th one is faster and economical.

    This is where the differences end. There are no differences in oils or technical features of the cooling systems, and a significant part of the spare parts from the 8-valve model can be easily installed on the 16-valve model. As a result, the procedure for changing the oil in a Daewoo Nexia engine with 8 valves does not differ from that for a 16-valve model.

    How to replace the Daewoo Nexia cabin filter

    The presence of a cabin filter on a Daewoo Nexia car is a matter of dispute among many of its owners. The fact is that on restyled versions produced since 2002, the designers provided space for installing this unit. Before this, there was no standard place for mounting a cabin filter on a car. So is there a cabin filter on the Daewoo Nexia or not? The answer, alas, will be negative. At the same time, for those who want to install it, there is a big difference in exactly when their sedan was produced. It is one thing to install the original filter element in its original place, and quite another to do it on a machine where this unit is not provided at all.

    2. Replacing the Daewoo Nexia cabin filter: preparatory nuances
    3. Installing a round cabin filter
    4. Installing a rectangular Nexia cabin filter
    5. When should you change the cabin filter?

    Features of the Daewoo Nexia ventilation system

    The Uzbek automotive industry has its own understanding of how the air recirculation system in a modern car should be designed. This is probably why the cabin filter on Daewoo Nexia is found haphazardly and extremely rarely. Many owners of this budget car have no idea where the cabin filter is located or whether it even exists. Regardless of whether our Nexia has a cabin filter or not, in order to ensure an acceptable microclimate in the cabin, the filter must be found and replaced. And if not, install it.

    Nexia with air conditioning must be equipped with a cabin filter according to technical conditions, but unfortunately this is not always the case

    The presence of a filter in a car with air conditioning is doubly important, since the microclimate of the evaporator strongly promotes the formation of various pathogenic bacteria. A warm and damp atmosphere is exactly what is needed for the growth of mold and fungal bacteria, which enter our lungs, causing, at best, allergies

    Benefits of a cabin filter

    Meanwhile, both want to breathe clean air. Modern filters are capable of trapping up to 95% of dust, dirt and small debris entering the car interior from the outside. And if this is a product with a layer of activated carbon, then in addition to protection against solid pollutants, it is added the ability to delay the penetration of foreign odors and carbon monoxide into the cabin, which is very important for a car owner living in a big city. Of course, such a filter costs more, but it also brings much more benefits, which is why its popularity is growing every year.

    If we consider that the number of allergy sufferers is growing every year while the degree of air pollution in megacities is increasing, then the presence of a high-quality cabin filter can be called almost an obligatory component of a modern car. In essence, this is true, but what should owners of vehicles that were developed at a time when environmental issues and driver/passenger health issues were not given as much attention as they are now? They shouldn’t despair - you can install a cabin filter on almost any car, if you want to.

    Replacing the Daewoo Nexia cabin filter: preparatory nuances

    If you try to find out where the cabin filter is located on the Daewoo Nexia, you will be deeply disappointed - if the car is not equipped with air conditioning, you will have to look for a place to install it yourself. For cars equipped with a climate system, the designers have provided two standard places where you can install the original filter element:

    • in the main air intake of the ventilation system;
    • at the place where the heater is installed.

    In the first case, a rectangular original filter will suit us (NF-6185 - a regular anti-dust filter or NF-6185c - an option with activated carbon). If you install it in the heating compartment, you need a round-shaped cabin filter (products from TSN are suitable, catalog No. 9-7-110 - anti-dust, No. 9-7-199 - carbon version, or Jimmy's carbon version with catalog No. 28828822).

    In most cars, access to the compartment where the filter element is installed is from the passenger compartment. With Nexia, all work will have to be done in the engine compartment, which, however, can hardly be called a disadvantage - there is much more space here for dismantling operations. We don't need many tools - just a Phillips screwdriver and, possibly, a knife, which will have to be used to make a cut on the filter body for ease of installation (some manage to push the entire device in, but more on that later).

    Where is the cabin filter located on Daewoo Nexia, how to select and replace

    The cabin filter on the Daewoo Nexia is used to clean the air coming from a warm engine and radiator with circulating antifreeze into the car interior.

    Warm air is pumped into the cabin by a fan, in front of which a filter barrier made of porous synthetic fabric is installed.

    This accessory prevents dust, dirt, and dry leaves, which in large quantities penetrate into the engine compartment, from entering the fan engine and then into the interior. The cabin filter is a consumable item.

    Where is the cabin filter on the Daewoo Nexia?

    When the first Daewoo Nexia models were created, air filters for cabins were not yet so popular. They were installed exclusively in luxury trim levels with air conditioning.

    As it was equipped, in subsequent modifications of the car, especially when the Daewoo Nexia got air conditioning, the need arose for devices that filter the air.

    Since the car had already been developed and its components were being produced, in this model the cabin filters were placed not under the glove compartment, as in other models, but under the hood.

    It is noteworthy that at the plant where the Daewoo Nexia n150 and Nexia n100 models were produced, cabin filters are not installed, although space is provided for them.

    Car owners are sometimes unaware of the absence of this inexpensive consumable, and drive for years without cleaning devices, wondering where dust appears in the cabin after each trip.

    Daewoo Gentra and Nexia cars assembled in Uzbekistan especially suffer from this disadvantage.

    Therefore, if you are lucky enough to become the owner of one of the Daewoo Nexia models, it is recommended to check the presence of a filter accessory, which is located between the fan and the air intake.

    The heater fan, in turn, is located to the right of the resonator.

    Between the fan and the windshield trim there is a water deflector plate that closes the air intake from moisture.

    To ensure the presence of an air-purifying accessory, you need to remove the plate and bend the two sealing rubbers.

    The sealing tire in which the filter is placed has the shape of a wheel.

    How often should I replace?

    Clean cabin filters are a guarantee of clean air in the cabin. This means that the car owner and his passengers will not breathe dust and gasoline fumes in the car, and the interior will not have to be vacuumed after each trip. These devices are inexpensive - 150-300 rubles, so saving on them means sacrificing your health.

    Owners of Daewoo Nexia recommend that residents of rural areas change cabin air filters every 3-4 thousand km. mileage On vehicles operated on city roads, a mileage of 5-7 thousand kilometers is allowed.

    Rules for choosing a new filter

    Daewoo Nexia is equipped with 2 types of cabin filters: rectangular and round. A rectangular filter is installed in the air intake of the ventilation system. To do this, buy the following brands of filter consumables:

    • NF-6185 regular anti-dust,
    • NF-6185c with activated carbon.

    The round cabin filter is placed in the heating compartment.

    To change it, select products with the following catalog numbers:

    • TSN No. 9-7-110 – anti-dust with a rigid frame;

    Installing a round cabin filter

    1. raise the windshield wipers to a vertical position so as not to interfere with work;
    2. dismantle the rubber seal installed at the junction of the windshield and the engine compartment;

    3. we will gain access to the plastic cover held on the body by three self-tapping screws - unscrew them and remove the cover;
    4. now you need to pull out the drainage cover, which has a corrugated surface in squares;

    5. bend the rubber seal towards the interior;

    6. if the Daewoo Nexia cabin filter is being replaced, we take out the worn-out filter element;
    7. We carefully clean the seat from dirt, so as not to complicate the installation of a new filter and not allow debris to penetrate into the air duct;
    8. carefully insert the new product, fix it with a seal;

    9. We perform assembly in reverse order.

    Usually the filter fits into its original place quite tightly, without distortions or play. The only “but” is that many Nexia owners complain that the round filter is not very effective in terms of air purification and noticeably worsens the blowing force. This is not surprising given its small area.

    Installing a rectangular Nexia cabin filter

    Much more preferable is to install a rectangular filter element installed in the area where the main air intake is located. We perform the first three points in the same sequence. The standard installation location is a specially designed niche with a partition on top. For many, this is the stumbling block that does not allow (or makes it very difficult) to push the product into the seat. Some people solve the problem by cutting down the partition. This is not the best option, since it acts as an additional retainer and stiffener. It is much easier to make a cut on the cabin filter housing - in this case it fits into the niche without any problems.

    The only drawback of a rectangular product is the blocking of the air recirculation damper - and this mode can be very useful in many cases. Recently, you can find a Daewoo Nexia carbon cabin filter on sale with catalog number 533, which has a slightly different design and does not interfere with the operation of the damper. Its installation is as simple as in the previous case.

    When should you change the cabin filter?

    There is no doubt that after a successful installation of the filter element, you will fully experience the delights of being in a cabin with purified air. But your joy will not last forever - over time, the filter will inevitably become clogged and stop performing its functions. You will feel this moment by a noticeable weakening of the airflow, the appearance of dust in the cabin, and frequent fogging of the windows. Since the filter is not standardly installed on the car, you will not find recommendations for replacing it from the automaker. Experts advise replacing the Daewoo Nexia cabin filter at least once a year. This is usually done during maintenance, but many car owners prefer not to overpay and perform this operation themselves as needed, when the symptoms described above appear. Moreover, this does not require much time or experience.

    Causes of failure and solutions

    A malfunction can occur for various reasons. There is no general rule for eliminating it; you need to carefully inspect and listen to the operation of the car. In almost all cases, the entire device will need to be replaced.

    Signs that indicate a malfunction:

    • There is a noise when the clutch is engaged;
    • Work begins with jerks and twitches;
    • Switching on does not occur completely, slipping occurs;
    • It is impossible to turn it off completely, this indicates that it is being driven.

    If you are not sure that everything will be fixed, then the only option left is to replace it. Before work, you should consult with specialists.
