The peculiarity of the breakdown is that the wiper does not return to the lower position. To fix the problem, you need to adjust the limit switch. To do this, bend the contacts. If the problem cannot be resolved, then you need to buy a new electric motor with a built-in gearbox;
the car owner turns on the intermittent mode, but the windshield wipers operate non-stop. Most likely, the relay has failed;
When the windshield wipers are turned on, the sound of the electric motor is not heard. First of all, you need to check the contacts. Oxidation often forms on their surfaces. If the contacts are in good condition, then the relay needs to be replaced.

If the windshield wipers do not function, but the fuse clicks when turned on, then the reason is a blown fuse or armature. Finding Electrical Problems

A multimeter will help determine the problem area in the circuit. You need to check the circuit from the fuse to the gearmotor, from it to the hydraulic corrector.

Naturally, it is necessary to check the fuse itself. If zero is constantly lit on the multimeter screen and a not very pleasant sound signal is heard, then the circuit is working properly. When several numbers appear on the screen, without sound, we move on - we move on to inspecting the terminals and wires.

You can troubleshoot the problem as follows:

Clean and tighten all terminals that were checked with a multimeter.
Replace wiring.
Install a new lever on the steering column that turns on the windshield wiper.

Relay K2 (5243747), located in the mounting block, is responsible for the operation of the windshield wiper. If an intermittent mode is not observed during system operation, then it is time to change the relay. Under these circumstances, the hydraulic corrector also needs to be checked. If the windshield wiper relay has a defect, it will work wonderfully in the third extreme position of the right steering column stalk. A faulty relay does not stop working in all cases. Windshield wipers can function perfectly if they are turned on in position 1, but the fact that there is a defect and the relay is not working correctly will be indicated by pauses between sweeps of the blades. Often the relay simply goes away, and the wipers and heater do not work at the same time. In this case, you usually need to tighten the contacts.

In searching for the reasons why the wipers on the VAZ 2110 stopped working, you also need to check the limit switch located on the cover of the gear motor. It is also advisable to clean the contacts from oxide and bend the contact petals.

Troubleshooting windshield wipers

Troubleshooting the windshield wiper electrical system

If there are no signs of the electric motor working, you need to check the functionality of fuse F5. It is located in the mounting block. If the fuse is in good condition, then the problem lies in the electric drive system.

To test the circuit, you need to use a multimeter.

If a large value is displayed on the screen, this indicates damage to the wire or contacts. To troubleshoot problems, the following types of repairs are performed:

cleaning contacts in the fuse box;
crimping contacts in the connectors of the gearmotor, as well as the steering column switch;
replacement of wiring;
Replacing the lever on the steering column.

If the relay fails, the wipers can operate in fast mode (third position). The problem in this situation may lie in the steering column switch. It is recommended to pay special attention to the ring switch, which is located on the cover of the gear motor. In this unit you need to clean the burnt wires and, if necessary, bend the contact petals.

Electromechanical problems

An electric motor that shows no signs of life, no click and a blown fuse F5 - all these problems indicate faults in the gearmotor, which can be eliminated by replacing one of the components:

dirty collector in the electric motor rotor;
brushes that ensure continuous contact in the motor;
burnt collector;
broken armature winding.

There are other options: the electric motor does not want to work, but there is a click, or the fuse blows. In this case, you need to return the left lever to its base position as quickly as possible, since these problems indicate a short circuit in the electric motor. It needs to be completely changed. With the same problems, there may be minor faults: brushes frozen to the glass, or wipers touching body parts. Under such circumstances, you need to carefully separate the brushes or straighten their mounting arms.
