Unscrew the two bolts securing the strut to the steering knuckle. Hold the bolt head with a 19mm spanner and at the same time turn the nut with a 19mm socket wrench.

Use a drift to knock the bolts out of the holes.

Using the mounting lever, pull the steering knuckle towards you and thereby separate the strut and the knuckle.

From under the hood, unscrew the three nuts securing the strut together with the upper support. Thirteen head nuts.

Remove the rack assembly.

Secure the post in a vice and compress the spring using zip ties.

Using a special wrench, unscrew the nut securing the upper support. A special key consists of a twenty-two head and a pin that secures the strut rod from turning.

Remove the upper support, the metal spring cup, the spring itself and the boot with the bump stop.

  • Wash off the dirt and evaluate the condition of the removed parts.
  • Unpack the new strut and, in a vertical position, press the stem 5-7 times to bleed it. Please note that after pumping the stand must be kept in a vertical position.
  • Install the spring on the strut and boot with bumper.
    Install the top cup and support. If you keep the old support, it is advisable to lubricate the bearing before installation. To lubricate the bearing, remove the upper oil seal, then remove the old grease and apply new one. It is best to remove the oil seal with a knife.

    Install the support mounting nut and tighten as much as possible without a special wrench. Fully tighten this nut when the shock absorber is on the body.

    Next, reinstall the shock absorber on the body; no problems should arise.
