What is a bolt pattern?
4 bolt holes are 4
- The first number “4”
indicated in the parameters indicates the number of holes located on the hub, intended for screwing wheel bolts into them. - The second number “98”
indicates the diameter in millimeters of the circle in which those same mounting bolts are located.
Wheels from Logan (bolt pattern 4*100)
Based on safety requirements, wheels with such a bolt pattern cannot be installed on a VAZ-2112. But, some drivers use spacers or eccentric bolts
install such disks.
The bolt pattern of Lada Priora wheels is a rather important parameter when installing a new set of rims. In this case, every car owner needs to know it during selection. This parameter name is the most common, but sometimes you can also find another name such as drilling. Despite the differences in name, the meaning remains the same. It is necessary to know it in order to understand how the wheel is attached to the suspension elements.
The bolt pattern of the VAZ Priora corresponds to such brand models as Kalina, Granta and all classic models. This is done to avoid unnecessary confusion among car owners, as well as to reduce the cost of the production process.
What is the wheel bolt pattern on the Priora?
Lada Priora is deservedly one of the most popular and widespread sedans of the AvtoVAZ concern. This is due to the low cost of the model and high driving performance, which is an order of magnitude higher than that of classic models. In addition, there are no problems finding spare parts and components to improve the car, and you can service it yourself in the garage.
The installed rims have a very big influence on the behavior of any car on the road, its stability, steering and other characteristics. Their size and characteristics will determine the safety, dynamic qualities, and appearance of the car.
To select, purchase and install products on a car, you need to have information about their bolt pattern parameters. Knowing them, you can confidently buy and install a set of new disks.
At the moment, for the entire model range you can buy both original factory wheels and those produced by various other companies: both domestic and foreign. For example, the famous Russian brand “K&K” has an agreement with the manufacturer and produces a special line for Lada models.
New products created in an individual design will help perfectly decorate the appearance of the vehicle. However, the most common reason for replacement is still wear and tear or change of season. Car tuning is also very popular. It is carried out to make it more sporty and attractive. One of the main components to replace during tuning is the wheel rim.
You can find out what kind of bolt pattern is on the Priora from the technical documentation or from special tables presented on the Internet.
Priora is available in sedan, hatchback and station wagon body styles. The parameters and characteristics of the discs do not depend on the car's design.
During the operation of the vehicle, car owners get bored with the standard appearance and want to change something. In this case, tuning comes to the rescue, allowing for visual and technical improvements. It is possible to replace some car components with improved, sportier and more attractive ones.
The main part on which the appearance depends is the rims. In this regard, car enthusiasts try to replace them first. For any vehicle, wheels are not only part of the appearance, but also a very important design element, the size, production method and weight of which determine the vehicle’s stable behavior on the road surface, handling and dynamic qualities.
Lada Priora with 16-inch wheels
A new set of products must comply with all parameters declared by the manufacturer. This applies to both correct drilling and the required dimensions in terms of width, size and reach. It is also necessary to select high-quality tires for the season, since inaccurate sizes will negatively affect operation.
The drilling parameter determines whether the selected rim can be installed on the car. If the parameter does not match, then it is necessary to use adapter rings, which entails undesirable interference in the factory design.
Note!
Tires are installed regardless of the wheel bolt pattern on the Priora.
What drives can be installed and how to choose them
You can install almost any wheels on the Lada Priora that will satisfy the drilling and bolt pattern parameters of the original wheels. The central hole is 58 mm, and the number of studs and their length are 4x98.
R14
It is the most popular among all wheel models, since the Lada Priora is produced by the manufacturer on 14 disks. Therefore, when changing wheels, you can contact an official dealer and purchase them in a store. Thanks to the factory size of the wheel arches, the disc can accept several tire sizes at once, which undoubtedly plays a positive role when choosing winter and summer tires.
R15
Not such a popular option, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Within such a radius you can find many different types of discs. Such as stamped steel, cast steel and, of course, forged steel. This variety opens up great opportunities for car tuning. It is worth considering that the rim offset is equal to the size of R14, so it is necessary to select tires with a smaller profile. These wheels are suitable for sports driving on good asphalt or for long trips.
R16
Such wheels are sports, and they can be found much less frequently than the two previous options. There are two main types of wheels: forged and stamped. For some tire sizes, it will be necessary to install additional mud flaps, since the tire extends quite far beyond the wheel arches and will quickly pollute the car body. Since tires of this size have a smaller profile, they can only be driven on ideal asphalt without any negative consequences. In addition, when crossing rails, problems may also arise due to the vehicle's clearance.
R17
The largest variation of wheels on the Lada Priora. Also, this disc size is the most expensive, since it is most often produced in a forged version, which is several times more expensive than stamped and cast discs. These wheels are fitted with tires in size 205/40/R17, as shown in the photo. In addition, they can make various turns due to good handling.
Changing wheels on a Lada Priora is a very pressing issue at the moment. When choosing new disks, you need to check many parameters that are important in a particular case. In the case of Lada Priora, cast and forged wheels are the most popular, but they will look ergonomic only in sizes from R15 to R17. The manufacturer provides two options for painting wheels, but if there is a need for a different color, you can always change the color at any tuning studio.
As a result, it should be said that buying discs from unofficial dealers can result in negative consequences. If the threads of the discs do not fit, then no one will take responsibility for this. To avoid such cases, it is recommended to compare the information on the threads of the purchased disks with that stated by AvtoVAZ.
When choosing rims, the owner must pay close attention not only to the diameter of the rim, its weight and design, but also to important technical parameters. One of the key parameters for the compatibility of the disk and the vehicle design is the bolt pattern parameter
This component is a value (the typical value for the vast majority of VAZ cars is 4/98) that determines the number of mounting holes (the first indicator) and the diameter of the circle of the distance between the holes (accordingly, the second indicator).

The car will be able to overcome small road defects and obstacles without putting much strain on the backs of passengers. With these wheel sizes there will not be much shaking. Safe driving is ensured both in the city and on country roads.
To correctly select wheels by size for a Priora car, regardless of the year of manufacture and engine size, you need to know what the main differences in characteristics are for different sizes.
Options
For the entire time when the Lada Priora car was produced, all the parameters and characteristics of the wheel rims remained unchanged. Drilling for disks, regardless of the method of their manufacture, size and design, is the same.
To guess with a new set of wheels, you need to know the following data:
- Rim diameter, the size of which is indicated in inches;
- Wheel rim width, also measured in inches;
- Reach, millimeter measurement system;
- The number of drilled holes for fastening with bolts is drilling;
- The hole for installing the hub, as well as its diameter. Denoted as DIA. The measurement system is also millimeter.
Important! If you know all the listed parameters, it is almost impossible to make a mistake when selecting disks.
Priora's bolt pattern:
- The number of mounting holes and the diameter of their location circle is 4*98;
- The diameter of the hub or central hole of the machine is 58.6 millimeters;
- Rim diameter - 14 inches;
- Rim offset - 37-35 millimeters;
- Recommended width is 5.5 or 6.0 inches;
Also, as an alternative, there are special tables for determining the drilling parameters of any Lada car. They provide all the information on the declared dimensions and parameters for cars of all models and modifications.
This table allows you to determine the sizes and parameters of wheels for the Lada Priora in various trim levels and versions.
Peculiarities
As a feature for the Priora bolt pattern, one can name a common value among the concern’s cars, which is 4x98. The size of the central hole is also fixed and equal to 58.6 millimeters.
Some car owners install unsuitable wheels where the parameters do not match the original ones. In this case, centering rings are used, with the help of which the diameter of the central hole is changed. In this way, ensure that the holes for fastening the disk with bolts match.
The bolt pattern parameters for the Lada Priora car are common among the concern’s models. In this regard, there are no problems with selecting a set of disks for the model.
Summer wheels on Priora
For the Lada Priora, the automaker recommends the speed index H (corresponds to a speed of 210 km/h). Speed index T is also allowed - 190 km/h. The recommended weight index is 82, which corresponds to a load of 475 kg per wheel.

When choosing the maximum size of wheels and tires, remember that even a slight overinflation can create big problems when driving a car! Follow the recommendations for air pressure in the tires; the pressure on the front and rear axles should be 0.2 (2.0) MPa (bar).
Tires, wheels for Lada Priora
The correct choice of rims and tires for the Lada Priora is an important point, which is carried out by coordinating the selection with the recommendations of the manufacturer. The quality of his driving and safety while driving depend on how seriously the car owner takes this issue.
To correctly solve the problem of choosing wheels, you need to have information not only about the appropriate size, but also about much more:
- Season of vehicle operation,
- quality of the road surface,
- driving style,
- the maximum permissible load on both axles of the vehicle,
- the mode in which the machine is operated (daily, periodically, etc.).
What tire and wheel sizes are recommended in KOLOBOX for the Lada Priora?
The size of tires and wheels suitable for a particular car depends on the year of its manufacture and modification.
Lada Priora, launched on the market since 2007, is currently presented in a single modification.
Judging by the table, the following tire parameters are recommended for this car: diameter 15 or 16 inches, width from 175 to 195 mm, profile (width to height ratio) from 50 to 70%.
Other variations of these sizes, up or down, are possible, but taking into account all the negative consequences associated with such tuning.
What tires are suitable for a Lada Priora car in the winter?
The winter tires supplied with this car have a special rubber composition that retains its softness and elasticity at different temperatures. The sipes in the tread pattern of these tires have a special structure that removes excess moisture, dirt or snow from the surface of the rubber. Such wheels maintain the desired level of vehicle controllability in the winter season.
However, factory tires also have their disadvantages: insufficiently strong fastening of the studs contributes to their rapid loss, and the noise emanating from the wheels while driving reduces driving comfort.
The table shows possible options for winter tire sets for the Lada Priora.

When choosing winter tires for a vehicle, you need to pay more attention to its quality characteristics than to its external ones. Low-profile high-speed tires, as a way to make the car more aggressive, are more appropriate in the warm season.
What tires are suitable for the Lada Priora in the summer?
The choice of summer tires for each car should be accompanied by a determination of driving style.
Drivers who prefer a relaxed driving style, maintaining an average speed level on city roads, can choose from budget high-profile models. They will provide the car owner and his passengers with the necessary level of safety and comfort while driving.
Fans of aggressive driving who choose low-profile tires are faced with high noise levels while driving. Every unevenness in the road surface is transmitted to the suspension, which reduces its wear resistance.
You can pay attention to the following brands of car tires: Maxxis, Kama, Cordiant, Goodyear
What wheels are recommended for the Lada Priora?
Recommended wheel sizes for Lada Priora cars: 15 and 16 inches. These are the most comfortable driving options. It is also possible to install larger sizes, for example, 16 inches or more, but they require the purchase of low-profile tires.
The bolt pattern, as the main indicator that should be followed when choosing rims, on the Lada has the following form: 4 holes for fastenings located on a circle with a diameter of 98 mm.
What pressure is recommended for Lada Priora tires?
For tires with a diameter of 14 inches, you should adhere to the following pressure: 2.0 Atm with the possibility of reducing to 1.8 Atm for softer wheels. This option is suitable for those car owners who feel that the Priora tires are too hard and feel all the bumps on the road surface while driving.
For 15-inch wheels, the pressure should be maintained at 2.1-2.2 atm.
Operational deficiencies
Like most domestic cars, Priora has a rather weak paint coating, as a result of which the body of used cars is covered with chips and scratches. However, the problem with the low quality of metal and the level of anti-corrosion treatment is much more acute. As a result, the car quickly begins to become covered with rust, showing hot spots in various places. The most susceptible to corrosion are wheel arches, doors, sills and hood.
Engine
Both gasoline engines have proven themselves well during operation and are unpretentious in maintenance. The biggest problems are caused by electronic sensors, which cannot serve as a standard for durability. Quite often the throttle valve and the gasket between the head and the cylinder block fail due to the low quality of gasoline. When it gets dirty, the car stalls and loses traction. During operation of the machine, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention to the operation of the cooling system. Quite quickly, especially in the summer, the thermostat can fail, which can lead to overheating of the engine with all the ensuing consequences. Car enthusiasts will not be pleased with the long service life of the ignition coil and fuel pump. The car has a timing belt drive and, according to the manufacturer, its service life is 200 thousand kilometers. However, do not forget that as a result of a broken belt, the valve bends and you have to do a major overhaul of the engine. Therefore, owners of LADA Priora 2008 recommend changing it along with the rollers and pump at least every 100 thousand km.
Transmission
Despite the fact that the car is equipped with no alternative to a manual transmission, this gearbox cannot serve as a standard of reliability. The main disadvantage is weak synchronizers, which, however, is typical for manual transmissions installed on all AvtoVAZ models. The main sign of their failure is a characteristic crunch, which is clearly audible when changing gears. Priora received enhanced clutch from, but the problem of the limited service life of the release bearing was never solved. The service life of the transmission can be extended by using high-quality oil and regularly changing the fluid in the box, which must be done at least once every 75 thousand kilometers.
Chassis and steering
Surely many car enthusiasts are familiar with the problems of domestic cars associated with the short service life of the suspension. However, LADA Priora in this component can compete on equal terms with most budget foreign cars presented on the secondary market. Stabilizer bushings fail most quickly. As a rule, this happens already at 10–20 thousand km. mileage Following them, the stabilizer struts will have to be changed. Steering tips and wheel bearings will last about 40 - 50 thousand km. Replacement of ball joints and support bearings will be required after a mileage of 60 - 70 thousand km. Shock absorbers, CV joints and silent blocks of front levers can last 100 - 120 thousand kilometers. The original brake pads may not survive the first 10 thousand km, so the driver will have to quickly replace them with better analogues.
Poor quality operation of the electric power steering can cause certain troubles. The main signals of such a malfunction are jerking and heaviness when turning the steering wheel. The problem can be resolved by cleaning the electrical wiring contacts of the unit.
Other faults
Both the quality of the materials used for interior decoration and the level of assembly itself deserve great criticism, as a result of which car enthusiasts will have to put up with numerous extraneous sounds throughout the entire period of operation. Moreover, every year there will be more and more of them. Additional installed sound insulation and pasting of elements with vibration-absorbing materials do not help get rid of them either. The driver will constantly have to deal with malfunctions of electrical equipment, which occur mainly due to oxidation of contacts.
How will the behavior of the Lada Priora on 17 wheels change?
A fashionable change will not only be a visual reformation of your car. The technical characteristics of transport will change significantly. We have already talked about some reforms, discussing the pros and cons of such modifications. But it is worth remembering the main transformation. This is the comfort of the trip. For some reason, many people believe that large rims protect against minor bumps and make the car softer. In fact, the behavior of Priora at 17″ will be as follows:
- the stiffness of the suspension will increase significantly, and this will be a very noticeable change for the car; medium and large bumps in the car will go through with a roar and shaking in the cabin;
- the smallest bumps will indeed be easier to overcome, but without modifications to the suspension, driving the car will be quite unpleasant, and the reaction to potholes will increase;
- you will have to get used to all the habits of the car, including braking and steering, so first you should drive along less active streets and try all the driving modes;
- the ground clearance will not change too noticeably, so when undertaking this whole change for the sake of raising the car, it is worth abandoning this idea and applying other methods;
- turning the steering wheel on a stationary car without power steering will become an almost impossible task, the ride comfort for the driver will change significantly, and this is also not the best change.
Looking at such reformations, many may abandon the idea of installing giant wheels on the Priora. In fact, it sounds worse than it feels. After several days of driving your new acquisitions, you will feel confident in the car. Only in some situations will the non-original nature of the wheels be visible, which exceed all reasonable limits for a given car
And this is important to consider if you didn’t like the changes on your first trip. Don't rush to change everything back

Generation 1
Lada Priora is an updated version of the popular VAZ 2110 model, production of which ended in 2007. Over 1,000 changes were made to the design of the “tens,” beloved by many Russians. As a result, a new family of cars appeared, consisting of 3 representatives:
- "VAZ-2170" - a sedan, the production of which began in March 2007;
- “VAZ-2172” is a hatchback that appeared in February 2008;
- "VAZ-2171" is a station wagon, sales of which began in May 2009.
After the modernization of the VAZ-2110, a fundamentally new car appeared that retained the same features. In the first version of the Lada Priora, similarities with the “ten” were clearly visible, but the bow and stern of the car became different. The headlights have increased in size and the radiator grille has become larger. The taillights were also modified, but overall the changes in appearance could not be called global.
The basic equipment of Lada Priora has become noticeably richer. It offered electric front windows, central locking with remote control, athermal windows, an airbag, electric power steering, an electronic clock and an adjustable steering column.
The car was available in three trim levels: “Standard”, “Norma” and “Lux”. They differed exclusively in the level of equipment. The model was equipped with 2 types of gasoline units:
- 1.6-liter 8-valve VAZ-21116 engine (90 hp);
- 1.6-liter 16-valve VAZ-21126 engine (98 hp).
Generation 2
In 2013, Lada Priora was updated. You shouldn't look for dramatic changes in the model's appearance, but new touches and details have appeared here. After restyling, the model received headlights with daytime running lights, brake lights and taillights with LEDs. Instead of a rectangular shape, the radiator grille was made pentagonal with a honeycomb cladding structure. The rear bumper received an energy-absorbing insert and a new design. However, the dimensions of the model remained the same.
There were much more changes in the interior. Inside the restyled Lada Priora, new finishing materials and modified seats have appeared, and the architecture of the front panel has changed. A color display with touch control was installed at the top of the center console. The seat backs have increased by 40 mm, which has a positive effect on comfort. The interior of the updated Lada Priora has become quieter.
In addition to design changes, the technical part has also been improved. The model has an improved suspension and new steering with a lower gear ratio. The main difference was the advanced 1.6-liter unit with dynamic supercharging producing 106 hp. The previous power plants remained available. The configurations did not change either. Lada Priora was still offered in “Standard”, “Norma” and “Lux” versions with the following types of wheels and tires:
- 5.5J wheels on 14 ET37, tires – 175/65R14;
- 5.5J wheels on 14 ET37, tires – 185/65R14;
- 5.5J wheels on 14 ET37, tires – 185/60R14;
- 6J wheels on 14 ET35, tires – 195/60R14;
- 6.5J wheels on 15 ET35, tires – 185/55R15;
- 6.5J wheels on 15 ET35, tires – 195/55R15;
- 6.5J wheels on 16 ET35, tires – 195/50R16.
The model’s body was made of low-alloy steel and galvanized metal, which extended the warranty against corrosion to 6 years.
Disc bolt pattern and factory tire sizes on the VAZ-2112
On all models of the VAZ-2112 car from the factory, the bolt pattern had a size of 4x98
. And straight from the assembly line it was planned to install wheels with a 13th and 14th radius and tires measuring 175/70 R13
or
175/65 R14
.
Such “stamps” are suitable for VAZ-2112 (Kremenchug)

All my life I have been surrounded by cars! First, in the village, already in the first grade, I was rushing around on a tractor through the fields, then there was JAVA, then a penny. Now I am a third-year student at the Polytechnic Faculty of Automotive Engineering. I work part-time as a car mechanic and help repair cars for all my friends.
Types of disks
Lada Priora comes with alloy steel wheels, but you can install others, depending on your preferences. The options are as follows:
- Alloy wheels are standard factory products. They are the cheapest class among other types of wheels and are mainly used for the basic equipment of almost all economy class cars. They are not durable, have low resistance to impacts, and are practically irreparable.
- To create stamped models, unlike cast ones, special alloys are used. Alloys can significantly improve the characteristics of finished products, which can be noticed during operation. Alloy models can be repaired by straightening, so their service life is several times longer than their cast counterparts. They cost more, but last longer.
What kind of disks can be installed?
The size of wheels, tires, disks that are installed on a car have a direct impact on its technical characteristics. In the instruction manual, the manufacturer indicates the recommended dimensions, as well as acceptable ones.
The owner of the vehicle, in our case Lada Priora, independently decides what type and size of wheels and tires to install. For the average driver who uses the car as a means of transportation to and from work, the factory rim sizes are more than enough.
In case of tuning, changes in standard characteristics, dynamic indicators, it is necessary to refit the car with non-standard wheel sizes.
List of characteristics that can be changed by installing non-standard wheel sizes:
- Controllability;
- Road grip;
- Sharp and responsive steering wheel;
- Reduced/increased aquaplaning;
- Comfort of movement;
- Noise level;
- Combined cycle fuel consumption (see photo);
- Tread wear rate.
Which summer tires to choose for this domestic car
A wide range of summer tires are suitable for Lada Priora. The size must be selected based on the recommendations of the car manufacturers. Information on the characteristics of suitable tires can be found in the technical documentation.
As for summer products, parameters 195, 185 or 175 indicate the corresponding tire width, which is measured in millimeters. Next comes the profile height indicator, which is indicated as a percentage relative to the width. The last one is usually the tire diameter, it can be R15, R16 and others.
Fastener dimensions
It is important to know that before buying wheels for a Priora, you should pay attention to the dimensions of the fasteners. Now many car manufacturers are trying to switch to so-called metric fasteners, which are quite different from the SAE standard. Despite their external similarity, in fact, they cannot be called interchangeable
Despite their external similarity, in fact, they cannot be called interchangeable.
Example: There is a standard bolt that is half an inch in diameter. It also has 13 wraps, which is standard, and is one inch long. Now we compare it with a metric bolt of the same length. The metric bolt has a thread pitch of 1.75 mm and a total length of 25 mm. These two bolts will look identical, but in reality they cannot replace each other.
About tires on Lada Priora cars of 14 and 15 diameters
The sizes 14 and 15 inches are rightfully the most common for installation on the Lada Priora. The manufacturer clearly states the permissible tire sizes. This:
- 175/65 R14 82Н;
- 185/60 R14 82Н;
- 185/65 R14 86H;
- 185/55 R15 82H.
In addition, wheels with the following dimensions are also suitable:
- 175/70 R13 82T;
- 175/65 R14 82Н;
- 185/60 R14 82Н;
- 185/65 R14 86H;
- 185/55 R15 82H.
The choice of size for a personal vehicle depends only on the preferences of the car owner. Different tires may provide different characteristics; to obtain the optimal one, you must take into account all the manufacturer's recommendations. For tuning, Priora can even be equipped with wheels with a diameter of 17 inches. They do not have a high level of smoothness, but they noticeably decorate the car.
The size of tires and wheels significantly affects how a car behaves on the road. Each manufacturer indicates the acceptable sizes of tires and wheels; as a rule, this list is limited to several options. We'll tell you what other tires and wheels are suitable for the Priora besides the factory ones and how this will affect the operation of the car.
VAZ 2107 tires: features of operation and storage
Safety on the road directly depends on the condition of the wheels of the “Seven”. Therefore, you need to take a responsible approach to the choice of wheels and tires, monitor the condition of the tread and tire pressure. To do this, you need to know the parameters of the wheels, the nominal tire pressure, and the type of tread suitable for specific weather conditions.
Bolt pattern VAZ 2107
The first thing you need to pay attention to when installing wheels is the bolt pattern of the VAZ 2107. The design of the “seven” provides for the bolt pattern of the wheels “98x4” - fastening with four bolts, the holes of which are located on a circle with a diameter of 98 millimeters
Many foreign cars have a close bolt pattern - 100x4. In the first case, the distance between the centers of the bolts is 69.3 mm, in the second - 70.7 mm.
An error of 1.4 mm does not make it possible to properly fasten a “non-original” disk, which over time will lead to damage to the disk, bolts or mounting holes.
There are ways to attach 100x4 wheels to a VAZ 2107 using studs, eccentrics, spacers or extended bolts. But all of them either worsen the reliability of fastening or complicate it unnecessarily. Unless absolutely necessary, it is better to install “native” disks. Improper wheel mounting can cause imbalance and vibration, and in the worst case, a wheel falling off while driving can cause an accident.
Tire pressure VAZ 2107
The nominal tire pressure depends on the type of tire and the load on the vehicle. If the wheels are overinflated or low, the contact patch between the tire and the road changes. This causes deterioration in controllability and an increase in braking distance. In addition, uneven accelerated wear of the tread begins. Over-inflated tires increase wear on the center of the tire, while under-inflated tires increase wear on the edges.
It is recommended to check tire pressure after 500 km, but in practice it is better to do this more often. Small tire punctures, disc and spool defects cause air to escape from individual tires. In this case, the car may drift off course, especially when braking.
The nominal pressure in VAZ 2107 tires depends on the tire size:
- 165/80R13 - 1.6 for front, 1.9 for rear wheels;
- 175/70R13 - 1.7 for front, 2.0 for rear wheels.
In hot weather and when driving, tire pressure increases. With an aggressive driving style, taking sharp turns at high speed, the pressure can increase to 3-4 atmospheres.
The tire material is designed for this and can withstand such changes. But if there is a hernia or cut on the tire, it may explode.
A front tire explosion is especially dangerous, after which it is very difficult to keep the car on the road.
As pressure decreases, rolling resistance increases, which leads to increased fuel consumption. The tire also bends and the car becomes less responsive when maneuvering.
If the tire pressure is too low, the tires may even fall apart when cornering sharply.
Tire selection and storage
- The tire type must be appropriate for the season and road surface conditions. When the average daily temperature is below 5 degrees, you should switch to winter tires, and when it is warmer, to summer tires.
- Summer tires harden at low temperatures and lose grip on the road surface. Winter ones wear out intensively at high temperatures.
- You should not buy studded winter tires if you have to drive on city streets cleared of snow without leaving the city. The studs are good on snow and mud, but do not perform well on asphalt.
- Before storage, tires must be cleaned of dirt and washed.
- Tires should be stored upright on the floor or rack without any sharp edges that could damage the rubber.
- It is unacceptable to store tires hanging from the inner surface - in this position, the edge of the tire adjacent to the rim will be deformed.
- Do not store tires in direct sunlight or outdoors.
- It is unacceptable to place heating devices near tires.

Expert advice
When choosing tires for a car, you must first follow the manufacturer's instructions. Ask yourself a few questions.
- On what roads will the car be primarily used?
- Do you need increased cross-country ability?
- How much of the route will be city roads and how much will be highways?
- Will the vehicle carry heavy loads?
The answers to these and similar questions will help determine which tire parameters you need to pay special attention to.
How to choose the right wheels for Lada Priora 2012?
3 types of rims:
- Stamped (economical price category) - made from a sheet of iron by stamping on a press.
- Light alloy - manufactured by casting (more reliable than stamped ones).
- Forged (the highest quality and more expensive than the previous ones) - made from light alloys by stamping at high temperatures.
The choice depends on financial capabilities. However, it should be borne in mind that the quality of the road surface on which you have to drive every day must also be taken into account.
So, if it gets into a hole, a stamped disk will bend and will not cause harm to the tire, but a forged or cast one can cut it. There is a possibility that the cast disc may burst or crack.
It should also be noted that repairing “stamping” wheels is cheaper than repairing cast or forged wheels. But wheels with high-quality cast and forged disks kill the suspension less, because lighter and have more perfect geometry (better balanced).
The same wheels may or may not rub with tires on the same car - wheel alignment adjustment will help here.
What is the tire pressure?
It is the driver's responsibility to constantly monitor tire pressure. This will avoid standard problems associated with vehicle operation. An abnormal pressure value often causes:
- deterioration of management;
- uneven tread wear.
Often the car owner independently reduces the pressure in the wheels of his own vehicle. This reduces the load on the suspension, and the car “passes” various road irregularities an order of magnitude easier. But it is worth noting: a decrease in pressure even by 0.1 MPa leads to serious problems. The main ones include:
- increased fuel consumption;
- rapid wear of the outer tread segments;
- the car becomes less maneuverable.
An overinflated wheel causes no less problems. The central part of the cylinder begins to wear off quickly. In addition, at ambient temperatures of more than 60 degrees Celsius, the tire may simply explode. Which will lead to driving into the oncoming lane.
Parameter importance
In any car model, the drilling parameter is listed as PCD, which stands for Pitch Circle Diameter. The presented indicators are important when choosing a new set of wheels, so that the car owner does not have any difficulties during the purchasing process. Knowing the meaning of drilling, you can choose the most suitable ones from all the wheels available in the store.
It is almost impossible to visually determine the distance between the bolts on a particular car.
But you can easily count the number of fasteners yourself. To measure the diameter, you need at least a ruler, or better yet a caliper, as well as knowledge of special formulas that vary depending on the number of fasteners used.
It is very important to remember that the incorrect selection of wheels and tires for the Lada Priora can lead to increased wear, breakdown, or even a traffic accident. If you purchased wheels with inappropriate mounting sizes, they must be replaced.
The use of non-conforming discs with different adapter rings is not recommended for safety reasons.

Priorovskie wheels from Grants Sport
Often, Priora owners pay attention to the exclusive car from the concern - Lada Granta Sport. The car is made in the spirit of the times, has a real combat look and wheels with parameters 195/50/R16
Almost every ambitious Priora owner has a great desire to install just such wheels on his car, but there are both advantages and disadvantages, namely:
- Multi-spoke alloy wheels with these geometric parameters, crowned with a massive steel rim and low-profile tires, create a stunning effect, distinguishing the car from the rest on the road.
- The Chinese manufacturer was able to satisfy the quality requirements of the plant, and all wheels come perfectly smooth and homogeneous in composition and do not require serious balancing when installing them assembled on a car.
- One of the downsides is that these wheels on the Priora are in no way compatible with the fender liners, since the rubber simply rests against them and wears them out, which also damages the protectors. To avoid this, the driver will have to completely get rid of the plastic protection on his car, exposing the body to aggressive environmental influences, especially in winter.
- In addition, the cost of these products is clearly too high, and it is advisable to install it only on the premium Priora models, since otherwise they will stand out too much against the background of a poor exterior package without sports body kits, moldings, grilles and headlights.

What to look for when choosing
Among the main types, 2 will be priority for most - cheap alloy wheels and stamped ones.
Each type of disc has a marking that can tell you more about the features of the models:
- The first thing that appears in the marking will be the number - this is a number that means the width of the disks in inches (for example, 5.5).
- Next comes the letter abbreviation for the modification of the rim edges - B, D, K, J or P. There are more complex options JK, PP.
Recommendations for storing and caring for discs
- During a routine technical inspection, check the geometry and balancing of the wheel on a special diagnostic stand. If deviations are detected, restore the integrity of the structure;
- If cracks or dents form on the rim, immediately contact a service station for preventive maintenance;
- Avoid hitting road potholes at high and medium speeds. Regardless of the material or workmanship, the disk will be deformed and the seal will be compromised;
- Monitor the tire pressure; it should not be lower/higher than recommended by the manufacturer. If it deviates, pump it up;
- Switch to summer/winter mode in a timely manner. This means that in summer the tire pressure is 0.15 atm higher, and in winter it is lower by the same amount. The parameters are specified in the vehicle operating instructions;
- Tighten the rim nuts with a torque wrench. Excessive tightening contributes to the breakage of the studs, weak - an emergency situation, unscrewing the wheel.
In dry, sunny weather, cast aluminum wheels are least susceptible to external damage. But in slush, ice, when the road is strewn with various chemicals, the rim is most susceptible to corrosion. This provokes paint peeling and destruction of the molecular composition.
Systematic polishing allows you to get rid of scratches and burrs. First clean the wheel from dirt, dry it thoroughly, and then treat it with a chemical. Wipe several times with a microfiber cloth.
Store the wheels in a hanging position without touching each other. Pre-clean them, dry them, and wrap them in cellophane.
Stamped and cast: which is better?
According to the production method, wheels for LADA Kalina are divided into two global categories: stamped (from steel sheet) and light alloy (forged, cast or combined).
For the first option, manufacturing involves welding individual structural elements of the product. The technology is simple, which has a positive effect on the cost of disks.
Among the advantages of “stampings” we note:
- reliability;
- maintainability (tendency to eliminate bent areas);
- durability.
- it is difficult to perform auto-balancing;
- significant mass of products;
- lack of design possibilities (same type);
- low corrosion resistance.
What to replace with
If you're tired of your factory wheels, it's time to get something new. Lada Priora does not differ in design features, so the list will contain the most suitable products for updating the external style of the car.
Alloy wheels are affordable for many people, so it’s worth starting with them. Let's look at the companies and their main developments:
- Skad is one of the most popular manufacturers of alloy wheels. Among the many models, pay your attention to the following: R14 Uran-2, R15 Magnum, R14 Fortuna, R14 Callisto, R15 Alligator, R15 Sting. Among the options there are classics and several original wheels that will help update the style of the car. Almost all models are reliable and have good impact resistance.
- K&K - has more interesting models: R15 Torus, R15 Iguana, R15 Spark. High impact resistance and style - this is a brief description of products from K&K.
- Alcasta - R14, R15 M32, R14, R16 M29 - simple inexpensive options.
- If you want to install an R16, feel free to buy a Camrica, you won’t regret it.
While all of these models are recommended, you may want to choose something that suits your style better.
The ideal solution for many situations is to use 2 different sets of disks. For the Priora, the best choice for the summer is considered to be four stamped alloy wheels, and for winter it is worth choosing durable cast products. If you change them depending on the season, they will last much longer, so you won’t have to think about replacing them for a long time.

Wheel bolt pattern on Priora. How to solve a problem?
Wheel loosening on a Priora really turns into a problem if you don’t know some tricks that can make such a procedure as wheel loosening on a Priora easy and effortless.
Method one. In order for the Priora bolt pattern to be successful, you can simply screw the disk onto regular elongated bolts. Another way would be to screw the disk with 3 bolts instead of 4. But this method is not safe and is used solely at the driver’s own risk.
Method two. The bolt pattern of Priora wheel rims can be done using special bolts - eccentrics. They make it possible to level out the resulting gap within a certain range, so they are often used by car enthusiasts.
Method three. Using studs, for example, from the cylinder head of a VAZ 2108, which are screwed into the hub, and the disc itself is tightened with nuts. In this case, the VAZ Priora bolt pattern can also be successful.
Whatever method of loosening you choose, you should always remember about the safety of movement. After all, wheels are the main element, on the reliability of which not only the comfort of movement, but also people’s lives depends.
