A few words about the car interior
The seats are not luxury, of course, but they are comfortable to sit in, oddly enough, and there is an adjustment - you can adjust them to suit you, but only back and forth, raise them higher so that you can’t see the front. Seat with leather inserts.
What’s bad is that there is no noticeable lateral support, no lumbar support adjustment, the back is curved back. Although this is all corrected with special covers. I was very happy when I found out that there are heated seats. But then I encountered a pitfall - the heating of the xray chair will not work until it feels the weight of your body, that is, until you plop down on the seat.
You'll have to sit on ice and no one will care that it's freezing outside and you're freezing. But after about three minutes you feel a pleasant warmth under your heel, your back is also warming up. Cool stuff. It heats up to a certain point, turns off, and when the temperature drops, it turns on again. That is, it maintains heat all the time. The heating button, however, is located in such a way that without half a liter for the first time, you can’t find it by touch - on the left, between the seat and the door.

It would be better if they did it on the instrument panel. But if you get used to it, your finger will intuitively fall on it.
What is inconvenient is that the steering wheel is not adjustable for reach, only up and down. On a good road, the steering is obedient and straight at speed; it doesn’t drag the car along the highway. Once the surface deteriorates a little, you constantly have to adjust the trajectory on a straight line; in turns, it forces you to work - the steering wheel is too heavy, and after turning to zero it returns with a delay, as if it had fallen asleep.
The vibration of the steering wheel caused by unevenness under lateral loads confuses me.
How does the AMT robot work?
I can say that the cross-country ability is not bad, but the robot box often behaves incorrectly. If you go uphill, it resets the gear automatically, depriving the engine of the required power; when climbing, you have to switch to manual control. On a flat road, the robot is delayed by a couple of seconds when switching to a new speed, this affects the dynamics, and difficulties arise with acceleration when overtaking.
It is possible to storm a mud ambush while balancing on the verge of stopping the engine, in tension. The stabilization system quickly stops slipping, chokes the engine, and the car barely crawls. Moreover, ESP cannot be turned off, this is an ambush of course.
The BC screen is stupid. The size is large, but there is little information, unexpectedly blue background. For example, there is no display of outside air temperature. An automatic climate control unit that works normally, that is, it monitors the temperature correctly. But its display is very low, it is difficult to see the information there, which causes discomfort in heavy traffic. In sunny weather you can’t see the multimedia system screen, you need to reach out.

I had to get used to the mirrors, because they all have different curvatures, which is unpleasant at a first approximation. But on the other hand, the dead zones on the sides are reduced, and there is no need to turn your head on a difficult exit. The central one is the most common in terms of the degree of distortion.
The refueling hatch is enormous in size, with a terrible opening and closing sound. But if you forgot to close it (due to windage), it will close on its own without any consequences.
Mechanical or robot?, or maybe automatic. What to choose?
Here is one opinion. Let me tell you, this is not mine. But I agree in many respects. One of the questions that every car buyer faces is what to choose, an automatic transmission, a CVT or a manual transmission? It would seem that an automatic transmission is much more convenient: you don’t need to repeatedly change gears when changing speed, you don’t need to constantly press the clutch pedal, etc., but not everything is so simple. Each type of transmission has both advantages and disadvantages, including those related to the complexity and cost of maintenance and service. There are several types of gearboxes: actually, manual transmission (manual transmission), automatic, robot, preselective transmission, variator. All these types have their own design features:
- “Mechanics” have been used in auto work for a very long time. If you do not take into account the relative complexity of control, it has many advantages: it is easy to repair, a car with such a gearbox can be towed to any distance, started by pushing, it has a good efficiency. With a manual gearbox, the car has low fuel consumption; the manual gearbox is distinguished by its lightness and simplicity of design, and high reliability. Disadvantages include the likelihood of the engine overheating and the driver must have some experience for confident control;
- A regular automatic transmission makes driving a car much easier and does not put any strain on your arms and legs. Pros: low probability of overloading the power unit, manual mode, convenient control. Cons: impossibility of long-term towing, higher cost of a car with automatic transmission, more expensive maintenance and repairs, higher fuel consumption, heavy weight, low dynamics compared to a manual transmission;
- The robot combines the features of an automatic and manual transmission at the same time: the design is similar to a manual transmission, while control is carried out according to the principle of an automatic transmission. Due to insufficient reliability and expensive repairs, robotic gearboxes are not in high demand;
- Variable transmission (CVT) is found mainly in Japanese cars. A CVT is the same as an “automatic”, but it is distinguished by higher efficiency and good acceleration dynamics (no gear shifting required). The disadvantages of the “automatic” include more expensive maintenance and less reliability, especially for cars of an honorable age. With a CVT, the car is more economical, since the engine operates in optimal mode all the time;
- Preselective transmission is an element of German cars. The main feature is the presence of two clutch discs, one of which controls even gears, and the other controls odd ones. This gearbox ensures smooth operation, low fuel consumption, fast acceleration, and good dynamics. But there are also negative aspects: during long driving, the clutch may overheat, which leads to characteristic jerks during gear shifting, the high cost of the gearbox itself and its repair, the complexity of the design and repair.
From all of the above, we can conclude: if the driver has the skills to work with “mechanics”, then, perhaps, it is worth choosing it.
If not, then the most suitable transmission option is an automatic or CVT. If funds allow and there is a desire to experiment, then, in principle, you can try any option in practice, but it is better to do this in advance by arranging an impromptu test drive. xrayclub.ru
A few words about the hodovka x Rhea.
It feels like Xray is simply floating above the road. You don’t feel the road being repaired as such, you just ride and rock on the waves. If the tires slap over uneven surfaces, nothing is transmitted to the seat, it is very comfortable. There is silence in the cabin, but only until gravel appears on the road. Neither the rear nor the front arches are soundproofed at all; the sound of the gravel hitting them is so loud that the drumming begins to irritate. In general, the dynamics are satisfactory and sufficient. There is an anti-rollback system, which is nice.
The low body kit, sloping roof and sufficient slope of the windshield give very good handling.

Owner review
Lada xray 2022, 1.8
Good afternoon A month has passed since the purchase of the X. I didn’t dream about it, it just so happened. I went into the salon, sat in the car, and figured out the price. After reading Lada X Ray 2022 reviews for a long time, I went around the showrooms and looked at what I could get for 800 rubles. Solaris and Rio are small, fragile and more expensive. The polo interior is 90s. I didn’t want to overpay that much for a couple of extra options. I decided to return to the VAZ with 1.8 and AMT.
There is a lot of controversy about this box on the Internet (we don’t take into account that there are problems with the clutch disc; they started installing an improved one in the fall of 2016).
Today the mileage is 4500 km, during the run-in it is more than 3000 rpm. did not exceed. The engine whispers quietly after warming it up and is inaudible. The dynamics are not bad, there is a small margin for overtaking even at 95 km/h. The car is light, you don’t feel handicapped in traffic. Here you already begin to understand that the Lada Xray 2022 price is justified. The brakes are reliable and grip confidently. Everyone will have their own impressions. The engine and gearbox are connected through the clutch, so they are combined rigidly, unlike with a torque converter, which smoothes out their operation. This clutch is controlled by a computer, so I had to adapt to how it worked, not the other way around. When I first drove it from the salon, she was as dumb as she could. On the highway - no problem. I figured it out in a couple of weeks.
If you press on the gas at the beginning of the movement like a melancholic person, then it will shift to a higher gear at 1900 rpm, then a break and a new gear at 1400 rpm. and switching to 2000 rpm. So you nod off.
The second way is to work more actively with gas from the start. This is fast and furious! Yes, we have a different car! The first shift is at 3000 rpm, the box holds until the new Lada X Ray 2022 picks up speed. Switching times are less than 1 s. I drive in this mode. If you keep it at 3000 rpm on a climb. – will not switch to higher. Hill start assistant – holds for 3 seconds. brake, then releases.
More impressions. The noise and music are unexpectedly decent. The visibility is normal, but the front pillars hide a lot, which makes you have to turn your head more often. The rain sensor is adequate, the brushes work without squeaks, the frequency is good, I didn’t even expect it. The climate is cool. The steering wheel is empty, the car is stable in a straight line, roll is minimal.
So far I don’t regret the purchase!

TO 2
When the speedometer started showing 30 thousand km. It's time to visit the OD for MOT. This is already the second maintenance since purchasing the car. All items were discussed: oil, spark plugs, filter consumables and other details. They immediately said that it would cost 3,000 rubles.
The following were purchased in the store:
1. Filter (cabin, air and oil). They cost me 900 rubles;
2. Platinum candles – 2400 rubles;
3. Oil 5W30 5l – 2250 rub.;
So, summing it up, the amount came out to 5550 rubles. Arriving at the OD on the street. Dzerzhinskaya immediately started telling me that spark plugs should not be changed at 30,000 km, besides, they have a limited service life, they are of high quality and everything like that. But I decided to insist on my own. Later I realized that this was the right decision. The x-ray is equipped with NGK 70-9 spark plugs, which require replacement at the mileage my car is at.

The maintenance went very quickly and the service was at the highest level. Although the only thing I didn’t like was the change in the originally stated price. And I paid 4500 rubles for maintenance. As a result, the maintenance, together with the purchased consumables, cost me a tidy sum of 10,050 rubles.
A few months ago a small problem arose that I had to contact the OD. The drawback was that the windshield power button began to work incorrectly. Namely, when I turned it on, only the rear and side windows heated up.
In order for the windshield to also warm up, it took a lot of nerves and effort. OD recognized this malfunction and promised to make a request to AvtoVAZ for approval to eliminate this problem. And now more than 4 months have passed since that time, and there is no answer or greeting from the OD. They look at me with square eyes and cannot understand what I want from them. Again, for unknown reasons, we tested the faulty front heating. And once again they promised to solve the problem with AvtoVAZ. I made an appointment with the warranty service, maybe this way my problem will be solved faster.
Review of Lada XRAY 1.8 (122 hp) AMT 2022
Impression
Good day everyone! I want to tell you about my Khrey. Chassis, body, price - all this suits me. The whole problem is in the operation of the motor-robot combination. There are no complaints when driving on the highway, although overtaking is a different story.
I'll tell you how this happens for me. Before overtaking, I make sure that there is no oncoming traffic, the gas is to the floor, the gearbox is down in 2nd gear, the engine is screaming, but the acceleration that you expect from 122 mares under the hood does not happen. Everything is somehow sluggish and unconvincing.
It’s even sadder when you don’t press the gas pedal all the way, so the robot switches from 5th to 4th. Such overtaking cannot be called calm and confident. You need to have at least half a kilometer of clear oncoming traffic so that the hair on your head doesn’t start to move. But this is a track where overtaking is perhaps the only weak point of my Hrey.
I don’t just say “mine.” Maybe other yardarms with a robot are not like this. Driving in the city through traffic jams is where all the shortcomings of the above-mentioned engine-AMT combination are fully manifested.
Personally, this is how I feel about driving in a busy city. For safe driving, a very subtle “play” with the gas pedal is required. All the time you are afraid of either not pressing (the car either does not move, or is jerking), or of overextending (jerking). Those. you are constantly under tension.
And what kind of pleasure can you get from such a ride? And these dips when switching from 1st to 2nd, when the car suddenly loses speed, and you always risk getting hit from behind.
Personally, I have great doubts about the adaptability of the robot. The mileage is 7,000 km, and neither I nor he have gotten used to the robot. I’ll tell you about myself, I’m not a racer, I welcome a reasonable driving style, i.e. everything depends on the situation.
And the car, as the manufacturer says, is for a quiet ride. But to move around a city with heavy traffic on Hrey with a robot, you need to have truly nerves of steel.
