• low viscosity petroleum oil;
• lithium stearate (lithium soap), which is used as a thickener;
• additives that protect lubricated surfaces of parts from oxidation.

Due to the presence of such substances in the composition, the product performs its functions at thermometer readings of -60 - + 90 degrees Celsius. The safety margin of the product is 500 Pa (Pascal).

It is worth saying that there are quite a few varieties of fuels and lubricants, and in order to simplify the choice, a classification of these substances was created. Today, there are three types of them, differing from each other in composition, consistency, and scope of use. • the product is inert and neutral, that is, it will not affect rubber and plastic parts in any way;
• does not flow and has good viscosity;
• Suitable for use even in hot and cold conditions.

Unfortunately, the product also has disadvantages. Firstly, an open jar should not be left in the open air for a long time. Secondly, the product cannot be used for open mechanisms and components, since the effect is good at first, and then problems arise in the form of drying out of the composition. The substance is also not stored for a long time, because it loses its abilities, delaminates and becomes unsuitable for use.

Tsiatim-221 lubricant turns out to be ineffective if equipment is operated for a long time at extremely low temperatures. It should also be noted that this product, due to its relatively high viscosity, helps to increase contact resistance (by 15...20%). The reason for this is the weak electrical properties that Cyatim-221 exhibits at high temperatures. For the same reason, lubricant is not recommended for use in rubbing parts of power electrical devices.

Another important characteristic of the use of CIATIM lubricant is its chemical inertness towards substances such as hydrocarbons, elastomers, and polymers. The principle of dissolving like in such compounds does not work, since organosilicon liquid is not a hydrocarbon compound. It is worth noting that it is this fundamental property that allows the lubricant to be used in friction pairs such as metal-rubber, metal-plastic, plastic-plastic, etc.

But it is important to note that with such qualities it is impossible to use this lubricant in a metal-to-metal friction pair. The tribological parameters of such raw materials are too weak. They are not intended for use in conventional steel bearings. This is due to the fact that, due to its physical and chemical properties, the lubricant cannot be used in a metal-to-metal friction pair, since it is not capable of providing the necessary protection against wear. It is worth noting that it will also not be possible to create a suitable tribosystem from this lubricant with the addition of any triboadditive. CIATIM-221 is used to lubricate various rolling bearings in electrical machines, monitoring and control systems. Effectively used in devices with rotation speeds up to 10,000 rpm. Initially it was intended mainly for bearings that are part of the design of various units and assemblies in aircraft technology and for metal-rubber mating surfaces intended to operate in a vacuum.

Storage, labeling, packaging, transportation

It is important to note that packaging, labeling, storage and subsequent transportation of goods must be carried out in accordance with GOST 1510-84, but with some additions.

The substance must be packaged in tinplate cans or, at the consumer’s request, in aluminum tubes without an internal coating or coated with phenol-polyvinyl acetate glue on the inside. The capacity of these tubes should be from 40 to 200 g. The tubes are packaged in plank or plywood boxes in rows. Each row should be separated from the previous one with cardboard or paper. However, there are CIATIM 221 manufacturers who take advantage of the lack of awareness among workers in our industry. They are selling counterfeits. Purified petroleum mineral oil is used as a base.

Others dilute Litol-24 lubricant with oils and sell it under the guise of CIATIM 221 lubricant.

The price of analogues is significantly lower than the cost of the original. Accordingly, the characteristics of such counterfeits are not comparable to the original. This harms reviews of CIATIM 221 and jeopardizes the operation of the devices.
