Design differences

Yes, the difference with the first generation lies in the design part. The style of the station wagon car has become little different. Although this will not help to identify whether Kalina or Granta is moving. Only an experienced person who has really dedicated a lot of time to understanding the aspects of the newest station wagon from Lada Granta will be able to tell the difference.

There are no differences at all behind and along the edges - the most significant difference is in front. There is a new bumper, trims, and the radiator mesh has been slightly changed. But the rest remains 100% Lada Kalina. In general, by and large, only the name has changed - from Kalina to Granta. On the technical side, the same engine remained, but it was strengthened by a couple of horsepower.

Operation in the city and beyond

Based on my operating experience, I will say that the ground clearance of 16 cm is more than enough for the Lada Granta.

And with the box, young Granta screams more abruptly than the old one! Generic values: something needs to be tightened up, something will get used to itself over time. Acquired problems in terms of controllability and vibrations have not been cured, and they specifically make it feel like a long-familiar product was presented in the most catchy packaging.

I think the situation will fundamentally change in about four years, when a completely new Granta will appear on the B0 platform. In the meantime, you don’t have to choose - with a skinny wallet.

As a result of the successful balance of the entire chassis, the Lada Priora, whose ground clearance of 145 mm implied the development of dynamics, was able to achieve high speed indicators. On the highway, the maximum speed of the car is over 180 km/h. The VAZ Priora accelerates to 100 km/h in 11 seconds, which is a good result for a car of this class.
