Everything you need to know about Lada Vesta tires. Choosing the right tires

November 26, 2015 Lada.Online 895 004 421
Every driver should know that the size of tires and wheels is one of the main factors that significantly affects the behavior of the car on the road. Each manufacturer indicates the acceptable sizes of tires and wheels; this list consists of several options. Do you know what other tires and wheels are suitable for Vesta besides those specified by the manufacturer?

Vesta SV wheels from the factory

The standard dimensions of the slopes of the basic West SV assemblies coming off the AvtoVAZ assembly line have parameters such as 185/65/R1588Н . Some batches of these vehicles may be equipped with T-series tires. In this case:

  • 185 – means the width of the slope in mm;
  • 65 is the percentage of the tire profile compared to its width. If in millimeters, then it will be 65/100*185=120.25;
  • R15 is not the radius, but the diameter of the rim intended for this tire in inches;
  • 88 – this digital index indicates the tire’s permissible load capacity of 560 kg;
  • H – means permissible speed up to 210 km/h. While T is 190 km/h.

Features of standard tires

Lada Vesta SV base assemblies come from the factory with Belshina tires, which:

  • designed specifically for this car model;
  • have high quality parameters;
  • are products under the ART Motion brand. This, by the way, is not just a brand, but a sign that these stingrays undergo a series of tests for compliance with European standards.

In basic Vesta assemblies, these tires come with steel stamped wheels 6J15ET504x10060.1, where:

  • rim width in inches – 6J;
  • in inches, the mounting diameters of the slopes are 15;
  • disc offset – ET50 or 50 mm;
  • PCD or bolt pattern parameters (4 bolt holes, symmetrically located on a 100 mm circle) – 4x100;
  • diameter in mm of the hole DIA for the hub is 60.1.

Topic: Original standard tires on Vesta

What tires are standard on the Lada Vesta? Pirelli? Or does each dealer have their own price?

In its own way, is it like backwards? Dealers don't supply tires; tires are installed at the factory. By the way, VAZ has unbalanced wheels from the factory, will this problem transfer to Vesta or not? And is this a warranty case?

I'm talking about the store, if there is an imbalance on the disk, then they take away the set without any problems, this is a defect, but of course all the tires can be said to be imbalanced. If you prove that the disc is crooked, of course it should be replaced like any other low-quality product.

Re: Original standard tires on Vesta

Now they are setting up a matador. A strange leapfrog with the choice of tire supplier, to be honest.

Re: Original standard tires on Vesta

Three days ago I changed my shoes to summer Pirelli, which the salon gave me. Today I noticed a hernia on the front wheel. I didn’t get into any potholes, I didn’t really drive the car these days. Has anyone encountered such a problem?

Perhaps it’s a defect, or perhaps they slipped it in on purpose, but now you can’t prove anything.

Re: Original standard tires on Vesta

A spare tire is placed on the spare tire in the luxury suite. Quite sad.

Re: Original standard tires on Vesta

They put a spare tire on the spare tire in the deluxe.

Not a re-roller, but a full-fledged wheel stamped for 15

The instructions say “temporary use wheel”. As I understand it, it’s simply due to the difference in size, although the ABS sensors may get confused.

Re: Original standard tires on Vesta

. I understand it's just because of the size difference

The rim is 15 and the tires are higher overall the same size

Re: Original standard tires on Vesta

The rim is 15 and the tires are higher overall the same size

This is IDEAL, in life a penny does not match a penny. Because a 5 percent step of changing the profile height does not allow millimetering the size of the rolling radius

Previously, it wasn’t really that important; I threw the wheel on the non-driving axle and let it roll. Now with the presence of ABS sensors and the addition of their functions, the accuracy of the wheel rolling radius increases

This is most likely why they write that the spare tire is temporary, although it is a 100% normal wheel, not a re-roller.

Wheels for top assemblies of Lada Vesta SV

More expensive Vesta configurations are supplied from the factory with slightly different ramps than the basic assemblies, namely 195/55R1691Н . These tires are the German EcoContact produced by a company such as Continental and come in pairs with Ptalomey-16 6Jx16ET504x10060.1 appropriate for the tires .

As for wheels of the maximum size, for example, the Luxe version of this car is equipped with Ptalomey-17 or, in other words, 17-inch wheels.

It should be borne in mind that the basic assemblies of the Lada Vesta SV can be equipped with such wheels for additional money.

Regarding the compliance of standard and AvtoVAZ-approved tires and wheels, this information is presented in a tabular format:

Alloy wheels

Popular alloy wheels on the Lada Vesta are distinguished by a wide selection of designs and diameters. They are made from a special alloy. In addition to the base metal aluminum, the alloy contains magnesium, strontium and titanium additives. The casting process occurs under high pressure, which promotes rapid hardening of the workpiece. Using computer modeling and milling, the part receives its final shape.

Alloy wheels

The multi-level manufacturing process of alloy wheels explains their high cost. They are lighter in weight, but have less resistance to mechanical damage.

Lada Vesta casting is presented by the manufacturer in two versions:

  • r15 rollers are recommended for tires with dimensions 175/70 R15 and 205/60 R15;
  • R16 wheels are suitable for tires with dimensions 185/60 R

On a note!

Alloy wheels 15 radius on the Lada Vesta are provided when purchasing a car in the “luxury” configuration. For an additional fee, alloy wheels 16 radius can be installed as additional equipment on the Lada Vesta.

You can buy alloy wheels for Lada Vesta in specialized centers and online stores, the websites of which contain photographs of the products. The average price for casting with a radius R15 is 2500 - 4000 rubles, depending on the manufacturer and design. 16-inch rollers will cost the car owner more - from 3,500 to 6,000 rubles apiece.

Alternative wheel sizes

In pursuit of beauty and unusual appearance, Lada Vesta owners install skating rinks of seventeenth and eighteenth radii. They include low-profile tires, which are very sensitive to the slightest irregularities in the road, which makes driving a car less comfortable.

Wheels r17

Quite often there are Vesta cars with wheels with a radius of R17. They look noticeably larger than the standard fifteen inches. Recommended tire sizes for this type of casting are 175/55 R17, 195/50 R17. External features are presented in the photo of Lada Vesta on 17 disks. You can buy such shoes for cars for 5,000 rubles apiece; foreign-made goods with an exclusive design will cost 15-17 thousand.

Wheels r18

For the first time, rollers of this size were presented on the Lada Vesta concept with 235/45 tires. A photo of the Lada Vesta on 18 rims clearly demonstrates the sporty design and dynamics of the car. R18 castings are much more expensive than their “younger brothers” - from 9,000 rubles apiece.

Interesting color solutions

Recently, it has become very popular to combine contrasting colors in car design. This fashion trend contributed to the release of skating rinks in different colors. On the Internet you can find many photographs with various combinations of car body colors and disk rims.

Lada Vesta with black wheels

It is recommended to install rims on a white Lada Vesta in a contrasting black color. The black casting looks good against the background of the white body. Using the same principle, you can choose wheels for a black Lada Vesta. White skating rinks will stand out brightly and attract the attention of others. Classic silver casting fits cars of any color and is a universal option.

Among the numerous design innovations, Vesta wheels with a bright red edging along the edge of the rim and on the spokes attract attention. They fit any car body color, but it is preferable to install them on a red car. This combination gives the car a sporty look and unique personality. Even in dense city traffic, the car will stand out from the crowd and attract the attention of others.

Tire pressure

Such a parameter as tire pressure is usually ignored by newcomers to our garage community. However, tire pressure is an important factor during the operation of a car, due to the fact that, for example, low pressure;

  • is a consequence of accelerated tire wear;
  • causes increased fuel consumption;
  • makes both tires and rims vulnerable to the effects of potholes.

As for too high tire pressure, this can lead to:

  • Fatal accidents resulting from a tire blowout at speed;
  • increased wear of the suspension;
  • discomfort while driving.

The optimal tire pressure is indicated by the factory, as a rule, in two places, namely in the operating instructions, as well as in some visible place directly on the car. As for Vesta SV, this information is available in the form of a plate on the end of the driver's body pillar.

Tuning wheels that are not suitable for Lada Vesta

The most common reasons for installing non-standard wheels can be both tuning measures and restoration procedures after an accident in compliance with the rules of pairing, both in terms of tread patterns and the same degree of wear.

It should be borne in mind that 185/55/R15 wheels, both Priori and Grant, as well as Kalin, cannot be installed on Vesta SV due to the fact that:

  • the DIA parameters for the hubs of these disks are 58.5 mm, in contrast to the 60.1 mm size of the hub holes for standard disks for West SV;
  • the PCD bolt pattern for non-standard disks is 4x98 or not 4x100;
  • The mounting holes of the disks will always mismatch.

What non-standard sizes can be supplied?

In addition to the standard wheels listed above, you can install tires of non-standard diameter on your Lada Vesta. When choosing such solutions, you should definitely adhere to a number of recommendations:

  • when using rubber with a diameter of 15 inches, the tire composition must have increased strength - since the car will have greater inertia when cornering;
  • for aggressive, fast driving - wheels with a diameter of 17 inches are best suited;
  • Summer tires are best equipped with wheels with a diameter of 16 inches - such wheels can be equipped with tires with a sole width of 185 to 195 mm and a profile height of 55-60 mm.

Before installing and starting to use tires of non-standard sizes, the driver should “try on” them. Often, when the wheel width or profile height increases, the tread begins to touch the plastic fender liner. As a result, the fender liner itself may be broken, and the protector begins to quickly wear down on the plastic surface. Wheels that are too large often damage mudguards and the body. The appearance of cracks and chips in the paintwork causes serious trouble.

Oversized wheels

Wheels of abnormal size not only change the appearance of the car, but also have a significant impact on both the dynamics and stability of cars on the highways. And, perhaps, the only improvement in the use of large-sized wheels is an increase in cross-country ability by increasing the ground clearance of the same West SV.

It is possible (and the factory does not prohibit this) to equip the Lada Vesta with 18-inch wheels.

But negative consequences in the form of increased wear, as well as the possibility of early failure due to the national characteristics of Russian municipal roads, may forever discourage such tuning experiments. Moreover, if you consider that large-sized slopes are much more expensive than standard tires.

Removing and installing the hub: front and rear

This part is always hidden behind the wheel, so first, lift the rear or front of the car and remove the wheel. To do this, unscrew the bolts with little effort, moving from one to another in order, so that dismantling occurs as quickly as possible. Before doing this, the car needs to be stopped in place; it is better to do this using wheel chocks.

To replace the hub on the front wheel of a Lada Vesta:

  1. Lower the brake fluid level in the reservoir.
  2. Press down the brake cylinder piston carefully so as not to damage the protective casing. Separate the pads.
  3. Using a 18 mm socket, unscrew the bolts securing the disc to the steering knuckle, hang the disc brake on the suspension spring. Do not remove it far, place it away from the sharp ends of parts so that the brake hose is not damaged.
  4. Unscrew the casing mounting bolts and remove the casing.
  5. Closer to the center of the car, the wheel speed sensor wire is connected to the top - disconnect it. Before doing this, unscrew the bolt next to it. Take out the wiring harness.
  6. Unscrew the ball pin fastening nut and disconnect the steering rod from the steering knuckle.
  7. Unscrew the remaining steering knuckle nuts and remove the bolts. First, remove the front wheel drive shaft, and then remove the steering knuckle assembly.
  8. Replace the part, reassemble everything in reverse order.

To work with the rear wheel of a Lada Vesta, the process looks like this:

  1. Unscrew the hub fastening nut, and then remove the drum along with the bearing, retaining ring, and magnetic ring from the axle.
  2. To remove the bearing, press the magnetic ring with a three-arm puller.
  3. Place the drum on the press table, place the mandrel 78.7853-9728-1 on the bearing.
  4. Press the bearing out of the drum.

To install the bearing, thoroughly clean all parts from dust and dirt for excellent adhesion, and carry out the work in the reverse order.
