Nissan Primera
It was produced in 3 generations with sedan, station wagon and liftback bodies. The first generation - p10, was produced in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995. The second is p11, in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000.
Third - p12, in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. We will present information describing the fuse and relay blocks of the Nissan example p11 and p12 (2nd and 3rd generations), their photographs, diagrams and the purpose of the elements.
Separately, we note the cigarette lighter fuses.
Fuse box and relay nissan primera
Without fail, all power circuits of electrical equipment on Nissan Primera P11 and P12 vehicles are protected using electrical fuses. As for more powerful consumers such as outdoor lighting and fans, they are protected using relays. The protective elements are located in special mounting compartments.
Despite their small size, fuses play a very important role and if one fails, then in some cases the functioning of the entire system becomes impossible. Fuses will save the car from a possible fire, since in the event of a short circuit or overvoltage, the circuit will be broken and de-energized.

Where is the fuse box?
- Most of the fuses are located in the interior mounting compartment covered with a plastic cover, as well as under the hood next to the battery.
- Numbers of electrical fuses in the passenger compartment.
- Electrical fuses located in the installation compartment may have a slightly different location or be completely absent depending on the year of manufacture of the vehicle.
- Numbers of electrical fuses in the engine compartment.
Removal and replacement instructions
Finding and replacing the fuse is not difficult and can be done by any car enthusiast. It is only important to carefully read the instructions we offer. Before you start studying the material, watch this video.
Preparation
Before proceeding with replacement, carefully study the electrical fuse layout. Determine which compartment the required one is located in.
Tools
To replace you will need:
- screwdriver;
- tweezers;
- set of new fuses.
Steps
To get to the interior compartment, you need to remove the cover. It is installed tightly, so you may need to apply some force.
Relays located on the front side:
- heated rear window;
- throttle valve motor;
- fog lights;
- window lifters.
Relays located on the reverse side:
- ignition;
- additional equipment;
- ventilation, oven, air conditioning.
- In order to get to the electrical fuse box located under the hood, you need to release the latch.
- Remove the cover.
- We look at the diagram and find where the fuse is located, which is responsible for equipment that is not functioning.
- Once it is found, you can proceed to change it.
- To do this, take tweezers and remove the safety element from its seat.
- Included with the fuses we find a similar one in rating. To make your search easier, you need to remember one simple rule. Electrical fuses of the same rating are colored the same. It's hard to make a mistake here.
- We install a new one.
- The fuse link is also easy to change. You just need to pull it, swaying it from side to side.
- After the burnt-out insert is removed, install a new one of similar amperage.

In all three generations of Nissan Primera P10, P11, P12, knife-type protection modules are preinstalled.

Signs of faulty fuses on a third generation Nissan Primera
- An indicator on the dashboard indicates a breakdown of mechanisms and equipment in the engine compartment;
- Power units do not operate when current is supplied or modes are activated;
- The fuse box is hot to the touch, with a clearly uncharacteristic temperature;
- The smell of melted plastic can be heard at the location of the protective modules.
Causes of fuse failure
- Violation of the terms of technical inspection of the vehicle, as a result of which the equipment ceases to function properly;
- Purchase and subsequent installation of non-original spare parts;
- Violation of the technology for installing spare parts and components;
- Damage to the mounting block with protective modules;
- Short circuit in electrical wiring;
- Damage to cable insulation;
- Oxidation of contacts, condensation, moisture ingress into the protective housing;
- Loose terminal contacts.

What gasoline to use
You need to understand which gasoline is better and cheaper to fill at a gas station in a Nissan Qashqai: 92 or 95.
Positive qualities of 95 gasoline:
- Acceleration and dynamics are excellent. There are no complaints about this.
- It cannot be said that little or much is spent. The amount of fuel consumed is average.
- It is very difficult to get more than 2000 rpm.
The negative quality of 95 gasoline is that its price is higher than 92.
Positive qualities of 92 gasoline:
- Cheaper than 95.
- Experts say that such gasoline is cleaner. It’s difficult for us to verify this, but if this is true, then the car will only be better.
Negative qualities of 92 gasoline:
- The dynamics work worse. The speed began to pick up not so quickly.
- The speed has increased, which is not very good.
- Driving on 92 gasoline turns out to be less “quick” than on 95. But 92 wins in terms of cleanliness.
- At 95, the spark plugs get red soot, but overtaking on the highway is better.
Our advice on what fuel to use and where to drive: in the city use 92, and when driving on the highway you should use 95. Thus, the spark plugs will also work out their service life. When using 95 gasoline in city mode, more is spent.

Dear Valery! Please explain how much weight does your coin installed on the slider have and does the imbalance break the distributor bearings? I just decided to do the same and during the manufacturing process I thought, maybe it’s necessary to install a counterweight?

Good evening, my car started and stalled in the heat, I had to wait about 10 minutes and then it would start again, and so I drove around the house))) because I steamed periodically and not always. But today it happened 2 times a day. I found the relay, the contacts also disappeared and solved this problem, thank you?

Is there a pinout of the connector for the auto-dimming interior mirror (4 wires in the plug)?
Strange, could this be the case? I don’t have fuses 14, 15 (low left and right headlights) under the hood, but I do have low beam, it was purchased this way...
Is the car European?
Yes, European assembly. And on the cover, there’s actually another option shown... it’s not in the pictures above and in fact it doesn’t match... maybe the cover is from the P11?

also no 14 and 15 did you figure out what was going on?
hi! I drove for 10 years and nothing happened, but yesterday the headlight started to malfunction. I stuck it in, but there are no fuses either! It’s even interesting. Did you figure out what was going on? I asked the electrician at the service center while driving, he says it can’t be like that, so look in the cabin .but there are no fuses for the headlights in the cabin. In general, this is unpleasant - the headlight will short out and the common fuse will burn out or what? What if it doesn’t burn out?
Strange, could this be the case? I don’t have fuses 14, 15 (low left and right headlights) under the hood, but I do have low beam, it was purchased this way...
I dug this up today - I'll have to check it out

Rev. The same problem - there are no 14 and 15, I just read the comments above, I took out the 18 pre-integer, but there is no current on it. Are there any versions of what to do?
