We solved the problem, so to speak in a simple way, by covering the mirror with a piece of cardboard, effectively and cheaply. Now driving the Lada X Rey on a sunny day has become much more convenient.
I was pleased with the option in the cabin, which makes communication on the phone safe for the driver and pedestrians “hands-free.” This function is activated via the multimedia system, which is located on the steering wheel. It also allows for remote control of the audio system.
The only negative is that after turning on the ignition, tracks from the flash card start playing from the very beginning, and not from the place where listening was interrupted. The problem can be solved by the most common flashing.
Paint quality
This indicator is very important in AvtoVAZ cars. After all, many should remember that in previous models, corrosion on the metal appeared even before the car’s warranty expired. Now, the domestic manufacturer promises that all problems associated with corrosion are a thing of the past. He informed us that strict requirements are imposed on the quality of Lada X-ray painting. But at the same time, it was harmoniously diluted with the edging of the air deflectors, the top of the gearshift lever, and also inserts on the doors and transmission tunnel. The metallic shine of these elements gives the interior a touch of solidity and, at the same time, does not seem tacky.
Light inserts on the door cards and other panels of the X-Ray interior look harmonious and stylish.
Overall, the dashboard was a success - everything is convenient, everything is at hand. Visibility, thanks to large mirrors and the high location of the upper edge of the windshield, is also at the level. The only thing that spoils it a little is the wide front pillars, but other models also suffer from this now.
There are no problems with visibility at all, especially in top versions, where the driver is assisted by a rear view camera.
The front seats are well made and comfortable. The length of the pillow is optimal, as is the density of the seat and back padding. However, I would like more thorough lateral support, but for normal driving the available one is quite sufficient.
Despite the lack of lumbar support, the seats in the Lada X-Ray are very comfortable.
Rear sofa
The back row received no less attention. The 3-seater sofa is quite spacious, but only two people can travel there most comfortably. Despite the presence of 3 head restraints, the high transmission tunnel leaves no chance for a third adult rider. Maybe a teenager. Of course, our people are no strangers to crowding, but still... The color scheme is also very nice - the black color of the upholstery is harmoniously diluted with light inserts.

As for the headrests, these are not comfortable “clamshells”, but small bolsters. To prevent them from immediately digging into the passengers' shoulder blades, you will have to keep them constantly raised and sacrifice visibility in the interior mirror.

From the above, we can conclude that this time AvtoVAZ decided to yield to all its principles and not produce a car in traditional green or blue colors. So, for example, “Glacial” or “Platinum” colors have a more practical appearance. But “Black Pearl” is suitable for those who put solidity and elegance in the first place. Women preferably choose “Fresh” or bright red color.

The naturally-aspirated VAZ-21179 engine with a power of 122 horsepower and a volume of 1800 cubic centimeters is paired with a 5-speed robotic gearbox.
The base engine for the car has a power of 106 horsepower and a volume of 1600 cubic centimeters. This unit is well known to motorists. It is equipped with electronically controlled fuel injection and distributed fuel injection. Among the features of the engine, it is worth noting the unique intake system. It is already clear that I would like to see a car that has the characteristics described above (suspension, engine, body geometry, etc.) in a 4x4 version. The all-wheel drive version was announced by the manufacturer for a long time; the start of production was planned for 2016. Judging by the description, the SUV was supposed to have similar technical characteristics and design, and the Renault Duster was supposed to serve as the basis for it.
However, according to the latest data, the project has been frozen. There are no plans to release a car with all-wheel drive. Therefore, there is no need to guess what kind of drive the new product will have.
