The task of motor oil is not only to lubricate the surfaces of rubbing parts and cool them, but also to remove small fractions that appear as a result of wear. Let's assume that if this lubricant were not present, the engine would collapse very quickly. The binder must also enter the motor cleaned. To do this, any car is equipped with an oil filter through which lubricant circulates. Thus, heavy particles remain in the filter.

Oil filter device

The unit is one of the most important parts of the vehicle structure. Without it, the life of the car would be reduced by three times. The VAZ 2110 oil filter promotes several processes in a car engine at once:

  • engine oil filtration;
  • cooling of the rubbing surfaces of the power unit;
  • improving sound insulation of a running engine.

What is the oil filter made of? In most cases, it is a cylinder. At the bottom of the housing there are holes arranged in a circle through which contaminated engine oil flows in and cleaned oil comes out. In the center there is a thread for attaching the filter. The filter element itself is placed inside a metal case and consists of special paper in the form of an accordion. The oil filter design has two valves:

  • bypass - serves to relieve excess pressure in case of ineffective filtration of the cold oil composition;
  • anti-drainage – prevents the binder from flowing out of the filter.

Why should you change the oil in a VAZ 2107 engine?

The VAZ 2107 engine is literally stuffed with various rubbing parts, the surfaces of which require constant lubrication. If for some reason the oil does not reach the rubbing parts, they will immediately begin to overheat and eventually break. And first of all, the valves and pistons of the VAZ 2107 suffer from the lack of oil.

It is extremely rare to restore these parts after problems in the lubrication system. In the vast majority of cases, the engine requires a very expensive overhaul. That is why the driver must regularly check the level and quality of lubricant in the engine, and, if necessary, change it. In the VAZ 2107 operating instructions, the manufacturer recommends changing the oil every 15 thousand kilometers. However, experienced owners of “sevens” recommend changing the lubricant more often, every 8 thousand kilometers. Only in this case will the VAZ 2107 engine operate for a long time and stably.

How to distinguish a fake from an original filter

You should choose an oil filtration device in such a way that after installing it you do not have to contact the nearest car service center. In other words, when choosing a given element, it is necessary to take into account its quality component. How to identify unreliable equipment installed on a car? This is not difficult to do. When you turn on the ignition on a cold engine, carefully monitor the oil pressure sensor; if it does not turn off immediately, but after 3 seconds, it means that the valve is letting oil into the engine sump.

When purchasing a filter, you should pay attention to the following points:

  • the body must be strong without defects;
  • the filter component must be elastic;
  • low cost of goods is the main indicator of a low-quality product;
  • the manufacturer must be known to a wide audience;
  • availability of a product quality certificate;
  • the instructions presented are blurry, the words are not clear;
  • the sealing ring can be removed easily and without effort;
  • poor varnish coating on the outside of the case;
  • Forgeries are characterized by a protruding bypass valve spring.

Choosing oil for VAZ 2107

Taking into account everything said above, it becomes clear: the choice of lubricant for the VAZ 2107 engine primarily depends on the climatic conditions in which the car is operated. If a car owner operates a car in a region with a positive average annual temperature, then he should use a simple and cheap mineral oil, such as LUKOIL TM-5.

If the car owner lives in a region with a temperate climate (which predominates in central Russia), then it would be more advisable to fill in semi-synthetic oil. For example, Mannol Classic 10W40.

And finally, residents of the Far North and regions close to it will have to use exclusively high-quality synthetic oils. A good option is MOBIL Super 3000.

Replacing the filter

The VAZ 2110 has two types of engines: 8 and 16 valves. But, despite the design differences of the power units, the process of replacing the filter element is the same.

The first step is to change the car's engine oil. This must be done so that after installing the new filter, no contaminated oil remains in the engine. The procedure is performed periodically after a certain amount of mileage of the car. Therefore, replacing the cleaning device and engine oil is usually combined. The work can be carried out in a car service center or at home. Another reason for the need to change oil is that it loses its lubricating properties over time. When the fluid warms up strongly, it loses its useful components and becomes a source of wear on engine components.

  • Start the power unit and leave it on for 3 - 5 minutes in idle mode. After this, check the engine oil level again. If necessary, add to the maximum level.

What kind of oil can be poured into the VAZ 2107 engine

Fuel lines

Checking the valve with a multimeter

Diagnostics can also be carried out using a voltmeter. How to check the fuel tank check valve? Open the hood and disconnect the wiring from the valve. Then connect the negative lead of the multimeter to ground and turn on the ignition. Then run the positive probe on the wire and see the cost of the device. The readings should not be less than 12 centuries.

To inspect the valve itself, unscrew the clamp with a screwdriver and remove the tube. Then you need to remove the valve itself using a slotted screwdriver. It is necessary to turn on the ignition and apply plus and minus to the corresponding terminals on the element. If the valve is working, you will hear a characteristic click. Zollex says on the box that it was made in Germany, as well as on SCT and UFI, it absolutely says Italy on it. All of these filters, not counting Alfa, are essentially made in China and are of low quality. You can read this from people’s comments and reviews. Quite problematic filters. The problem with them is the following: the bypass valve does not perform its functions one hundred percent, often it either sticks, or there are cases where it allows oil to flow back into the system, although the filter is supposed to filter the oil, in other words, dirty oil goes back into the engine .

As a candidate for SCT, Zollex and Alfa today, by the way, a penny goes for a penny - WIX.

WIX is a pretty tough manufacturer. By the way, these particular filters are made in Ukraine, Khmelnitsky region. In terms of cost, they are on par with SCT, but according to people’s reviews, VIH is even better. Also installed, they walk quite well. Fewer complaints than on SCT.
