What and how much to fill in Renault Logan

For the automatic transmission, Elf Renaultmatic D3 SYN Elfmatic G3 oil is used, and 7.6 liters will need to be filled.
The hydraulic booster uses Elf Renaultmatic D3 SYN Elfmatic G3 fluid and needs to be filled with 1 liter.

A few words about the design of the motor
The design of the internal combustion engine has four cylinders, the working cycle consists of four cycles. It runs on gasoline, the power system has a unit for electronic control of fuel injection and ignition. The motor design has an in-line arrangement of working cylinders with pistons. Their rotation is carried out by one crankshaft, which also transmits rotation to two camshafts.
The motor cooling system is closed type and has forced circulation. Antifreeze is used as a coolant. The lubrication system was combined, that is, engine oil is supplied to friction points under pressure and also by splashing.
For the manufacture of the cylinder head of the 1.6 16 valve engine K4Mi, aluminum alloy is used. The drive mechanism of the gas distribution mechanism is designed in such a way that the rotation of the camshafts is carried out using a toothed belt.
Their rotation is transmitted through rocker arms and hydraulic compensators to the intake and exhaust valves. The simplicity of this design has one significant drawback. If the toothed belt breaks or is otherwise damaged in its working area, the valve is bent by the impacts of the pistons.
The valves of this motor have different sizes not only for the plates, but also for their lengths. The intake valves are large, both in terms of valve plates and their length. In this engine, the connecting rods are made of steel by forging. K4M pistons differ from K7M in their originality; they are produced with a diameter from 79.465 to 79.475 mm. The mass of such a product is approximately 450 grams.
How to replace the oil filter
You will need : a 10" or 13" wrench, a puller or a screwdriver.
On the K4M engine, access to the oil filter is blocked by the engine protection, which will have to be removed (6 x 10 screws). Or remove the fuel frame protection from above by unscrewing the 2 “13” screws. Place an empty container under the filter and turn it counterclockwise using a puller.
If you don’t have a special tool, you can use a screwdriver. For easier access to the filter on the K7M engine, you can remove the exhaust manifold thermal shield by unscrewing the three mounting screws. Then pierce the filter housing with a screwdriver (closer to the bottom of the filter, so as not to damage the motor fitting), unscrew the filter, using the screwdriver as a lever.
Fill the new filter 1/3 full with new engine oil and lubricate the sealing ring with it. Then install the oil filter, tightening it by hand until the O-ring comes into contact with the cylinder block. After this, tighten the oil filter another 3/4 turn.
A little about engine maintenance
Any internal combustion engine, including K4M, requires periodic maintenance. The regulations for carrying out such work are described in detail in the vehicle’s operating instructions, but it would be useful to remind you about this again.
First of all, it should be recalled that special attention should be paid to the condition of the toothed belt, tension roller, and other elements of the timing mechanism drive. Otherwise, if these parts are damaged, the valves can be bent, and this is already a significant cost for repairing the power unit. These products should be replaced at 60 thousand km.
Important! It is especially dangerous for a toothed belt if engine oil gets on its surface; even the slightest leaks should be repaired immediately.

Metal parts
The crankcase drain hole is closed with a metal plug. The article numbers for this part are 7703075348, 7703075210, 7703075347 and 7903075033. There is a washer under the plug. It is designated as follows: 110265505R, 8200641648, 7703062062.

Tuning
To increase the power of the Renault K4M engine up to 120 horsepower, you can do chip tuning. This will require:
- install an exhaust system without a catalyst
- mount drivetech 10 phase 270 camshafts.

To achieve higher power levels, significant modernization of the K4M engine will be required. Tuning can be done using a PK-23 compressor or a TD04 turbine.
Using the first option, you can get power ranging from 140 to 150 hp. The boost pressure should not exceed 0.5 Bar, due to the low compression ratio of the K4M engine. You will also need to make a custom kit; there are no ready-made solutions. You will need to install a direct-flow exhaust, camshafts (phase 270-280), an Abit ECU and injectors, suitable from the Volga.
The second option for tuning the K4M engine is identical, except for the use of a turbine.
