The LADA Izhevsk enterprise currently produces only the LADA Vesta sedan, but in the future AVTOVAZ intends to launch the production of station wagons, crossovers and several sports modifications based on this model.
The car was created on its own “B” platform, which they plan to use in the future for the production of both domestic cars and models under the Renault-Nissan Alliance brands. Many components on the new product are of foreign origin and borrowed from other models, but gradually production is moving more and more to domestic components, which allows reducing production costs.

The sedan is designed for 5 passengers, and its technically permissible curb weight is 1,670 kg. Curb weight varies from 1230 to 1280 kg, depending on the configuration. The maximum weight of a towed trailer without a brake system is 450 kg, with a brake system 900 kg.

The fuel tank volume is 55 liters, dual-fuel modifications have additional 2 gas cylinders, which are designed for pressure up to 250 atmospheres. According to the manufacturer itself, fully filled cylinders allow Vesta to travel 1,000 kilometers without refueling.

In terms of its dimensions, Lada Vesta is one of the leaders in class “B”.
Experts admit that the car, created at the junction of classes “B” and “C”, has a spacious interior and larger dimensions compared to its main competitors. The length of the Lada Vesta is 4,410 mm, width is 1,764 mm, and height is 1,497 mm. The wheelbase is one of the largest in the class - 2,635 mm, and the track of the front and rear wheels is 1,510 mm. Previously, there were rumors that the track of the front and rear wheels on the new car would differ by several centimeters, but in the end this information was not confirmed. The ground clearance of the Lada Vesta is an impressive 178 mm, while the Cross version will have it at 203 mm, which is quite comparable to modern crossovers.

The trunk of the Lada Vesta has a volume of 480 liters and deserves special attention. If necessary, the rear passenger seats can be folded down to increase the usable trunk volume. The low rear bumper line makes loading and unloading easier, and the boot lid could be more modern and usable. Yes, it can be opened from the key fob or from the interior, but the lid opens on regular hinges with springs, and not on a lever system, like some competitors.

Five average-sized people can fit inside the car. The decent height of the Lada Vesta made it possible to increase the space between the seat cushions and the ceiling. The distance from the rear wall of the front seat to the rear passenger's feet is more than 200 mm. A passenger up to 190 cm tall will not rest his knees on the back of the seat in front. The length of the front seat cushions and the rear sofa reaches 45 and 48 cm, respectively. The width of the cabin allows for comfortable seating of three passengers on the sofa in the back. These interior dimensions are close in value to the parameters of class C cars.

Lada Vesta has a good interior, which is decorated with soft plastic. Despite this property, the plastic is quite durable. The interior of the car is upholstered in fabric and black leather. Added silver inserts. The panel is decorated with two backlight colors. It contains the necessary sensors: speedometer, tachometer, fuel level and engine temperature. The interior of the “luxury” version of the Lada is made at the level of higher-class European cars, which is a pleasant surprise.

Taking into account the specifics of operating budget sedans in our country, which involves the periodic transportation of certain cargoes, the designers made sure that Vesta received a fairly spacious trunk.

Main dimensions of the cargo compartment, meters:

• height – 0.573;
• length - 0.962 (1.675, if the rear seat backs are folded);
• width max./min. – 1.424/1.033;
• loading height – 0.717.

The useful volume of the trunk is about 480 liters, and it can accommodate cargo weighing up to 400 kilograms.

Thus, AvtoVAZ specialists managed to design not only an attractive and reliable car, but also a very practical, convenient and functional one, maximally oriented towards the average Russian driver with an average income.

When developing the Lada Vesta, the designers of the Togliatti automaker took into account the dimensions of the main competing models of other brands, and managed to surpass them in all key parameters.

In comparison with other B-class sedans presented on the domestic market and located in approximately the same price category as the VAZ model, Vesta is longer, taller, wider and has greater ground clearance. The increased dimensions of the body have a positive effect on its performance characteristics and convenience in everyday trips.

Benefits of the luggage compartment

The trunk of the Lada Vesta is also not inferior in terms of useful space to its “classmates”. The shapes of the body parts of the rear of the car form a wide opening in the luggage compartment. Its main parameters:

More about the body

The weight of the Lada Vesta, despite the increase in body dimensions, remained the same as that of the Priora.

The body itself is made of steel, without the addition of aluminum or other materials, since the manufacturer did not set a goal to reduce the weight of the car. Efforts have been made to create maximum safety for the Lada Vesta, eliminating unwanted vibrations and noise.

The body turned out to be more rigid and safer, thanks to new design technologies and the targeted use of high-strength alloys. Such innovations guarantee protection against jamming and distortion of doors and improved handling. The lighter weight was justifiably sacrificed to the multiple increase in the safety level of the Lada Vesta.
