Few people were excited about domestic cars in the late 1990s and early 2000s. And it was at this time that AvtoVAZ produced the legendary Ten - VAZ 2110 and its modifications in the form of a station wagon and a hatchback. The top ten has won people's trust due to its very affordable price, relatively high reliability and simplicity of design. But the engines in this car clearly cannot be called the best.
The VAZ 2110 was produced with carburetor engines for a couple of years after the start of production, then engines with injectors appeared. The most popular was the famous “gear” - 1.6 16V, which became the most popular in the last years of production of this car. Sixteen valves livened up the engine a little, but there is no need to talk about the sporty nature of the car.
Today we will talk about some possibilities for modifying the Tens:
- how to tune original engines for maximum power;
- what engines from foreign cars are suitable for the VAZ 2110;
- how to replace the engine legally and drive the car on the roads;
- how much does it cost to replace the engine on a Ten with an engine from a foreign car.
So, let's go!
How to improve the power of a standard VAZ 2110 engine
We can talk about improving power in more or less budgetary ways only in the context of VAZ injection engines. However, there are not many dozen carburetor cars left on the roads. Usually, VAZ 2110 owners who don’t have enough power from the stock engine simply want to do chip tuning of the ECU and get a serious increase in power, but it’s not that simple.
It should be taken into account that VAZ designers saved a lot when developing and assembling these engines. This means that the intake and exhaust will not be the best in their class, the fuel supply system will have its limitations, and some sensors, even after tuning the ECU, will not fully carry out the computer’s instructions.
For normal tuning you will need to perform the following set of actions:
- Air filtration system. It is worth installing a zero resistance filter and allowing the engine to breathe more easily.
- Throttle valve. There is no point in modifying it in any way. You can look on the market for a new damper with a larger hole diameter. This will allow you to immediately get a small increase in power.
- Inlet receiver. It’s worth replacing it with a more efficient one, but you can’t save money here. So, if you want to increase the power of your car on a budget, skip this point.
- Tuning camshafts will also not be cheap, but it is worth undertaking for good results. In the stock version, the shafts do not cope with the tasks very effectively, and replacing them with tuning parts will clearly add power and torque to the motor.
- An exhaust manifold. If air intake is already easier, the engine also needs to breathe out easier. Sports-type exhaust manifolds for the VAZ 2110 engine will greatly change your impression of operating a Russian car.
- Computer. And only at this stage can you touch the ECU settings in the Ten and adjust all the parameters to the new parts. It is important to manually configure all the necessary parameters after installing the above elements.
By the way, the increase in power can be quite serious. Up to 30-40% of stock values. But, of course, it is worth considering that tuning has many nuances. The service life of the engine will decrease, you will have to look into the piston group more often, change the rings, and treat the cylinder head. Also, consumption will obviously increase, miracles do not happen. But the machine will start to bring a lot of pleasure for relatively little money. If you wish, you can continue to work with the engine more deeply and get even more interesting changes. But remember that tuning engines with mileage over 200,000 km is deadly for such engines.
Modification of VAZ 21114
This type of device is almost identical to the 2111 in terms of design, but has an increased volume to 1600 cm³ and a power of 81 hp. The engines are very good down low, with good thrust, but the throttle response isn't as sharp as the 1.5-litre version. This is due to the “fragmented” euro norms.
This type of internal combustion engine does not bend the valve, so you don't have to worry about the belt breaking, although you don't have to recognize it again. It should also be noted that this type is equipped with phased injection, respectively, with phase sensors installed in the cylinder
.
What engines can be installed on the VAZ 2110?
Almost without problems, engines of more recent generations of VAZ are installed on the top ten. They are more powerful and often more reliable. For example, after 2022, most new Lada engines have so-called plugless pistons. If the timing belt breaks, the valves and pistons do not meet, and serious repairs can be avoided.
But all this does little to warm the soul, since it will be difficult to achieve a strong change in the behavioral characteristics of the car. Perhaps the newest 1.8-liter engines will save the situation, but they are expensive, and there will be many difficulties with their installation.
We researched the market and came to the conclusion that the following engines can be installed on the VAZ 2110:
- Opel C20XE. A good option for 150 horsepower. There are quite a few examples in open sources of how people installed this engine on Tens and Twelves and operated the cars without any problems with completely different emotions than on their original engine.
- Opel C20NE. Here only 115 horsepower awaits you, but the price of such an engine (contract) will be much more pleasant than the previous one. Of course, you will have to buy the engine with a gearbox and brains, as well as with all the attachments; nothing from Ten will fit it.
- Engine from Subaru WRX STI. There will be an incredible amount of improvements here, but the result is worth it. Probably, such a modification will turn out to be the most expensive of all our ideas, and only real enthusiasts will do it, for whom money will not be the main issue.
- Lancer 1.6. If you have found a good engine from a Mitsubishi Lancer IX, you can easily upgrade it to the Ten if you really want to. The engine serves well up to 500,000 km and does not suffer much from small problems.
- Renault 1.6. Speaking in theory, you can replace the engine in the VAZ 2110 with the engine that was installed on the Logan. But this doesn't make much sense. Apart from reliability, this engine will not surprise you with anything else.
However, the engine compartment of the VAZ 2110 will accommodate many engines of similar volume. But you will have to redo the mounts, cushions, electrics, attachments... In general, you will have to invest a lot of money and time in the car. But this is not the worst thing. The fun begins when you want to drive your updated car onto public roads.
Engine dismantling process
Of course, the best option would be to replace the engine in a fully equipped workshop, but if this is not possible (and you really want to do tuning), then you should have the following minimum set of equipment:
- winch, hoist or hydraulic lift;
- shoes;
- jacks;
- cart;
- knob with a set of heads;
- spanners;
- screwdrivers.
Nissan engine for VAZ
Dismantling is carried out in the following order:
- The car is stopped using a hand brake and shoes, which should be placed under the rear wheels.
- Place the front wheels on jacks.
- With the hood open, disconnect the “mass” terminal and all small hoses and tubes suitable for the engine.
- Seal the pipe inlets to the engine to prevent them from clogging.
- Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle pipe and bracket.
- Disconnect the air intake hose together with its bracket.
- To dismantle the air filter - to do this, use a sharp blade to cut off the three rubberized supports, due to which it is attached to the engine body.
- Remove the hoses leading to the receiver.
- Disconnect the hose intended for purging the adsorber from the nozzle.
- Remove the wires suitable for the pipe, the ignition module, as well as all others connected to the internal combustion engine.
- Remove the engine splash guard by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
- Drain all the coolant by removing the plugs on the cylinder block and radiator (while opening the reservoir cap).
- Drain the oil by unscrewing the plug cap on the gearbox.
- Disconnect the clutch cable.
- Secure the hooks of the lifting device to the eye bolts located on the gearbox and on the cylinder block, and then remove the engine.
Installation of the new motor is carried out in exactly the same order, but in reverse order. Also, it is important not to forget to connect the wires of all sensors to the correct connectors and refill all technical fluids that were drained during dismantling (coolant and oil).
Despite the fact that some car enthusiasts advise first removing the gearbox and then removing the engine, it is strongly recommended to remove the engine together with the gearbox.
How to arrange an engine replacement for a VAZ 2110?
To arrange a replacement engine for a car in Russia, the standard procedure involves the following steps:
- Obtain a document that confirms that installation of the required engine is possible in your car.
- Conduct refurbishment.
- Get diagnosed at an official service station and receive a diagnostic card.
- Come to the traffic police and register the car.
It sounds simple, but in reality this is a rather lengthy and troublesome procedure. In the case of VAZ, it is easier for you to write a letter to the Lada concern with a request to clarify whether the engine model you have chosen is suitable for installation on a specific modification of the VAZ 2110. They will answer you in an official letter, and this will be the reason to start work.
Then you need to purchase the engine with a receipt (or sales contract), otherwise it will not be issued in the future.
It is also worth making sure that all numbers on the engine match the documents, and the engine itself is not wanted.
Then you need to carry out the conversion. If something ultimately doesn't make sense, you won't pass MOT. That is, all components and assemblies must operate as normal, must be secured properly and without the slightest risk.
As a rule, it will not be possible to obtain approval for the installation of any serious and new unit on a VAZ 2110. It’s worth focusing on the Opel engines of the 1990s, since VAZ was well familiar with them and even used them technically to develop its engines. Also, a 2-liter engine from the Opel Vectra B was installed on the Ten in a small series. You will definitely be given permission for this engine.
What to put?
Indeed, the most important issue among VAZ 2109 owners is the range of engines that may be under the hood of their car.
Let's look at a few of the favorite solutions, which in most cases are found among those who decide to change the engine on their own VAZ 2109.
Gas is a more affordable alternative to gasoline, which will allow you to save money in the future at gas stations. This substitution is called easier. But you should take into account the fact that such a replacement will pay off only if the car is used frequently, and you will have a gas cylinder in the trunk. Such work can only be done by professionals with the appropriate qualifications and permits.

VAZ injector 1.5 liters
A good candidate to extract more power from your upgraded car. The injector is stronger, it requires less fuel, and provides the best dynamics. But in practice, changing engines from VAZ to VAZ is not the best solution, since there are a lot of options among more reliable, massive cars imported from other countries
Engines from Priora and VAZ 2112
Good Russian options that will simply fit into the space for the engine of your nine. Excellent performance, a good opportunity to transfer not only the engine, but also the gearbox itself
1.5 liter engine from Honda Civic
Here we are talking about 1.5-liter engines with a capacity of 92 horsepower of the 1991-1995 standard. Injection engines of that generation perfectly fit the dimensions of the VAZ 2109 engine compartment and have good technical features. A kind of improved variation of the previous version
Engines from Opel
Vectra engines of 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 liters have proven themselves well. The engines, although old, are fast, quite massive, and relatively economical. Their main advantage is an affordable price with good build quality. If you find a decent German engine of any of the presented volumes, your VAZ 2109 will work much better compared to the factory engine
Motors from Mitsubishi Lancer
1.5-liter injection engines with a power of up to 100 horsepower are to the taste of many. Excellent dynamics, high-quality assembly, pleasant efficiency. Finding such a motor is not at all difficult, and there shouldn’t be any huge problems either.
Nice swap option for a fast, fun, reliable Korean engine
. The only important nuance is that the box from the nine does not correspond to the features of the engine from the Korean, so you will have to change everything together

VAZ 2110 WITH SUBARU WRX-STI ENGINE is a 1.6-liter engine with 16 valves and a power of 90 horsepower. You will find such engines on the Doblo model. There are quite a lot of them at car wrecking yards, so there shouldn’t be any problems finding them.
Torquey, quite powerful, dynamic engine with a good margin of safety. A good solution for our roads. Japanese quality is not much inferior to the presented analogues from Germany. At one time, engines for the 626 model received many positive reviews, which is why their installation on the VAZ 2109 is recommended by many experts
Replacing a motor is a complex operation that requires the participation of an experienced specialist. It is strongly not recommended to change the engine yourself in a garage environment.
Motor 2112 from nine
Underwater rocks
There are several important, interesting and simply useful factors that must be taken into account when making a decision regarding replacing the engine on a VAZ 2109.
- If you approach the issue from a practical point of view and take into account the ideal compatibility of parts, then your best solution will be to install an alternative engine. But often replacement is carried out in order to increase productivity and increase engine power. In this case, you have to look for alternatives among the VAZ, Lada or imported cars.
- When replacing an engine from a 9 with a newer engine from the same model, you will not be able to install air conditioning. No, it is quite possible to carry out the installation, only then the power of the already not very playful standard engine will noticeably drop. In addition to the loss of power, you will have to change the generator to a more powerful one, since the factory generator will also not be able to handle the climate control equipment.
- engine
is good because it fits perfectly with the standard gearbox from the VAZ 2109. The same can be said about the Priora. - When increasing engine power, you will need to modify the brake system. Otherwise, the braking distance will increase significantly, and you will not be able to stop the car in a timely manner. So it is a mandatory step to replace standard discs and pads with more durable ones. If possible, replace the rear drum brakes with disc brakes.
- You will have to make changes to the cooling system. The radiator must be changed to one that matches the characteristics of the new power unit. If its power is higher than the engine from nine, the parameters of a standard radiator will probably not be enough.
- Documentation. Not long ago, the country passed a law that abolished the need for an engine number during registration. That is, from now on, the engine is just a spare part, which is equated to the same generator, air filter or wheel, for example. Due to this, the demand for replacement engines has increased significantly. But you must have documents for the motor. When buying an engine
secondhand, make sure that the owner has papers confirming ownership. - Origin. The lack of papers makes the motor quite potentially dangerous for you, since its origin is unknown. It is not uncommon to find engines that were removed from stolen cars.
- Contract motors. The most optimal option from the point of view of your safety is purchasing a new engine. Contract engines are provided by specialized companies, where in addition to the unit itself, they provide you with a guarantee and all the necessary documents.
- Re-registration. Decide for yourself whether you will register the converted car with the traffic police. Experts advise contacting the appropriate authority so that you can get a new motor. This way you can avoid many problems and misunderstandings on the roads when an inspector stops you.
Replacing the motor
ndash; the task is not easy
Tuning is not just about changing the appearance of a car, as many people think. In fact, revisions often concern the technical component. Someone makes changes to the exhaust system, changes elements of the factory engine.
But there is a more drastic, expensive and interesting option - change the engine. With the new engine you get different technical characteristics, increased power, increased maximum speed, better acceleration.
Replacing a motor is a fairly serious step that requires thinking through every stage, from choosing a new motor to the consequences that such work may result in.
How much will it cost to replace the engine on a Ten?
Now to the issue of cost. You may have seen many advertisements with attractive prices for contract engines. You can, for example, buy a real Japanese power unit with a mileage of 50,000 km from a Honda Civic for only 20-30 thousand rubles. But don't let this figure fool you, the costs will be much higher. As a rule, contract motors are sold separately without all attachments and without gearboxes. You will have to find the starter, alternator, gearbox, wiring, brains, fuel pump, fuse box, spark plugs, wires, coils and so on. All this will cost even more than the engine itself.
And you can’t check the mileage of contract engines in any way. So sellers list them so that the engines don't sit in their warehouses too long. As a rule, engines in cars in Europe and Japan travel at least 15,000 km per year, and often up to 30,000 km per year. So an engine from the 1990s has minimal chances of having a mileage of 50,000 km or even 150,000 km.
So, let's calculate the cost for a standard replacement with an Opel C20XE engine:
- Contract engine - from 30,000 rubles, on average we consider 40,000 rubles with some attachments.
- Brains and wiring - it will be difficult to find, again, you will have to turn to disassembly, it is worth pawning another 5,000 rubles.
- Gearbox - from 15,000 rubles in good condition, in good condition it will cost more.
- Various little things, such as a fuel pump, fuses, a dipstick - another about 5,000 rubles for disassembly.
- Replacement work - from 10,000 rubles in a garage service. At a good station, this amount will skyrocket.
You may also need additional work on minor engine repairs, setting up the engine control unit, and so on. But even without taking into account these investments, replacing the engine on a VAZ 2110 will cost you 75,000 rubles, plus the cost of registration. You can safely count 80,000 rubles - and this is the minimum.
Unfortunately, such an investment in an old Ten can hardly be called reasonable. Most likely, the cost of your car on the secondary market is approximately similar to the money you will spend on replacing the engine.
Modification of VAZ 21114
This type of unit is practically no different from the 2111 in design, but has an increased volume of up to 1600 cm³ and a power of 81 hp. The engines are very good at low end, with good torque, but the throttle response is not as sharp as the 1.5-litre version. This is due to the “suppressed” Euro standards.
This type of internal combustion engine does not bend the valve, so there is no need to worry about the belt breaking, although there is no need to allow this to happen again. It is also worth noting that this type is equipped with phased injection, according to which phase sensors are installed in the cylinder head.
Let's sum it up
If the engine in your VAZ 2110 is sick, it can be overhauled inexpensively. The cost of a major overhaul with your own hands with the purchase of simple spare parts does not exceed 4-5 thousand rubles. The service will charge you about 10,000 rubles more for the work. But in general, this is much more profitable than swapping for a more powerful engine from a foreign car. This only makes sense if you already have a donor engine, and you also have permission from AvtoVAZ to install this engine.
In other cases, you can justify such a colossal investment in the old Ten only by your enthusiasm and desire to build a real racing car. However, in this case, you also need to add to the amount the price of improving the suspension and steering, braking system and other parts of your car. Otherwise, the car will simply be powerful, but it simply won’t be able to accelerate to its maximum speed.
21124-motor
This is the most favorite type of power unit of many VAZ 2110-2112 owners, as it has a number of advantages over others, such as:
- increased power up to 92 hp
- low fuel consumption
- no problems with “bent valves”, since from the factory the pistons are equipped with recesses that prevent the “ill-fated” meeting of pistons and valves
It is because of all these advantages that many people prefer to buy cars with such engines. But if you look at the complexity of maintenance, then naturally the 8-valve will be simpler in this regard.
If you want a simpler and more reliable design, then these are 8-valve machines. If power and dynamics are important to you, choose the 16-valve option. But again, keep in mind the modification so that there are no problems if the belt breaks.
What engine can be installed on the VAZ 2109?
Tuning is not just changing the appearance of a car, as many people think. In fact, revisions often concern the technical component. Someone makes changes to the exhaust system, changes elements of an industrial motor.
But there is a more radical, expensive and exciting option to change the engine. With the new engine you get different technical properties, increased power, increased top speed, better acceleration.
What's under your hood?
Replacing a motor is quite a serious step that requires thinking through every stage, from choosing a new motor to the consequences that such work may result in.

I found out the price tags. 100 rubles are needed to assemble a normal 2112 turbo engine + the box will need to be strengthened for it, and the turbo is more difficult to maintain. There is a Japanese atmosphere here, it will be more reliable.

Aspirated engine or turbo engine
Let's start with the fact that an atmospheric engine “draws” air into the cylinders in a natural way (due to the vacuum that is created as a result of the movement of the pistons). Turbocharging is a solution that forces air into the engine cylinders under pressure.
Let us immediately note that almost all modern diesel engines are turbocharged, since it is the presence of a turbocharger on a diesel engine that makes it possible to achieve the necessary power, efficiency and a number of other important characteristics from engines of this type. In other words, a simple atmospheric diesel engine in a passenger car is quite difficult to find today.
However, when it comes to gasoline engines, the situation changes. Most of these internal combustion engines are atmospheric. The fact is that although the turbine provides a significant increase in power and torque without increasing engine displacement, the solution simultaneously complicates the design and makes the power unit more expensive to repair and maintain.
- A turbo engine needs higher quality fuel and shorter oil change intervals. It is also worth noting the reduced resource as a result of higher loads on the gasoline turbo engine.
It becomes clear that although the power of a turbocharged engine is greater than that of a naturally aspirated analogue with the same volume, such an engine can be considered more “problematic”. First of all, the short life of the expensive turbine (about 80-100 thousand km) and the engine itself (on average, about 200 thousand km for gasoline versions and 350-400 for diesel engines).
As for fuel consumption, on turbo engines in quiet driving mode it can be lower than that of naturally aspirated counterparts in the same conditions. However, in practice, significant savings are not achieved, since a turbocharged engine usually encourages the driver to actively drive.
Simple and reliable way out
You don’t have to go far and reinvent the wheel - you can use what your local manufacturer offers.
Any engine from the classics - VAZ 21011, 2103, 2106
and even from 2113 it will be worth a penny without any problems. The fasteners are identical for all, minimal modifications will be required. The main advantage of the solution: the engine can be installed almost new, while from foreign cars you will get ones that are already well-worn. (see article “Replacing the engine with a contract one”).
For more modern models (VAZ 2108-2170), it will be necessary to cut the body and think through the fastenings, although even here there will not be so much hassle.
Niva 1.7 will give good power. Only here you need to be careful and install the new engine with the original oil pump and sump: in the Niva they hang lower, and when installed on a “penny” there is a high probability of snags.
Motor VAZ-21126
from Lada Priora is also a good solution. With a volume of 1.6 liters. and a power of 98 horses, the VAZ 2101 will run like a young one.
It’s especially nice that you don’t have to change the box - all gearboxes can be easily connected to the new engine.
Technical characteristics of the standard seven engine
The usual volume for a VAZ engine is one and four cubic centimeters. However, this volume throughout the production of power units ranged from one and a half to 1.8 liters. The power of the standard engine started at 71 horsepower.
More detailed technical specifications are given in the table below.
Parameter | Meaning |
Nutrition | Injection or carburetor |
View | Row |
Pistons (pieces) | 4 |
BC | Cast iron |
cylinder head | Aluminum alloy |
Piston stroke | 80 mm |
Cylinder diameter | 76 mm |
Torque | 104 Nm |
Compression ratio | 8,5 |
Oil quantity | 3.7 l |
Volume in cubic cm. | 1452 |
This engine for the VAZ 2107 has been produced since 1972. And in our time it is produced at Russian factories.
When choosing a different engine for installation on a VAZ 2107, you need to carefully consider the dimensions of the power unit. The dimensions should match the old engine so that you don't have to remove anything or trim metal. These are unnecessary problems and financial costs, unless, of course, you are an experimenter.
Gasoline engine: carburetor or injection
So, if choosing a car engine comes down to buying a gasoline car, then move on. The vast majority of engines in the CIS are gasoline. In parallel with this, on domestic roads you can find both a large number of cars with injection and carburetor engines.
In short, the injector is a modern solution in the field of fuel injection. This injection is completely electronic; the system itself takes into account how much fuel to supply to the engine, taking into account the operating mode and a number of features.
All processes of fuel supply and internal combustion engine operation control are fully automated. As a result, the injection engine is economical, powerful, and capable of operating stably in different conditions.
- As for the carburetor, today it is a very outdated mechanical device. At the same time, mechanics are not able to flexibly and dynamically “adapt” to changes in conditions during operation. An engine with such a system consumes more fuel, behaves less stably in heat, cold, etc.
Also, the carburetor needs to be serviced much more often, constantly adjusted, tuned and cleaned of contaminants. It is quite obvious that today you should not buy a car with a carburetor, giving preference to a more modern and economical injection engine.
What engine size is best to choose?
It is well known that the larger the engine volume, the more powerful it is. In other words, a car with a larger engine accelerates better and often has a higher top speed. The only exceptions can be considered some SUVs, in which all the “forces” of the internal combustion engine are devoted to increased cross-country ability, and not to the dynamics of acceleration and high speeds.
It is important to understand that the more power the engine produces, the more fuel it consumes. If the annual mileage is not large, then you can agree with a consumption of at least 15-20 liters, but in cases where the car travels 30-40 thousand km per year. Fuel costs can take a significant toll on your budget.
It is worth adding to this that you also need to take into account the tax on engine power, the cost of a civil liability policy, etc. If we talk about the service life of engines, then large-volume units often compare favorably in this regard with “small cars”. To put it simply, in everyday use, a powerful engine does not need to be “twisted” much to maintain the required driving pace, during intense acceleration from a standstill, overtaking, etc.
This means that such an engine does not often operate at high and maximum speeds during daily use, while high speeds mean peak loads and significantly reduce the life of any engine.
In practice, for example, a 4-liter engine can easily run 500-600 thousand km. and more without major repairs, while a 1.4-liter unit may need to be overhauled or overhauled by 200-250 thousand km. But there are also disadvantages - a large-volume engine requires more engine oil when replacing, it is more expensive to repair in terms of the cost of work and spare parts, etc.
By the way, the issue of engine power needs to be paid attention to, taking into account what kind of gearbox will be installed on the car. If the car is equipped with “mechanics” or “robot” (manual transmission), then there will not be any special problems. However, in the case when the vehicle is equipped with a classic “automatic” with a torque converter or variator, then you should be prepared for additional power take-off from the engine with these types of transmissions.
- It should also be added that the power steering (power steering) and air conditioning included in the configuration of a particular car will also additionally take away the power of the internal combustion engine. As a result, the dynamics of a small car with an automatic transmission may turn out to be unsatisfactory when the air conditioning is turned on.
Taking into account the above, we can conclude that it is optimal to select a motor in terms of volume and power so that the cost of maintaining the car falls within the predicted and expected framework, while the power is still sufficient, adjusted for driving style, personal preferences of the driver, etc. d.
If you are choosing a used car, then it is better to purchase a specific model with a more powerful engine in the lineup, not only because of better dynamics, but also based on the greater residual life of the engine before major repairs.
A few important notes
In fact, there are quite a lot of options for such tuning. However, before choosing something specific, it is worth understanding a number of fundamental rules.
The engine compartment space on the VAZ 2101 is quite small. You can, of course, fit almost any engine into it (unless it definitely won’t fit from a dump truck), but for many engines you will have to cut the body - and this is a completely different amount of work and costs, not everyone can handle this without the involvement of outside specialists with special tools .
The power of the new engine should not greatly exceed the capabilities of the factory one. This is if, in addition to installing it, you don’t want to deal with strengthening its body and replacing half of the other components. Honestly, in this case, the cost of re-equipment will be higher than the residual price of your “penny”.
