Ways to reset (zero) the Starline alarm

Sometimes, in order to connect additional devices or carry out other procedures, a factory reset is required. It works like this.

Turn on the ignition. Then press the Valet service button 10 times.
Turn off the ignition. 10 signals will sound indicating that the car has entered the factory reset mode.
Press the Valet key again and listen to another siren signal.
Press button 1 on the key fob, going to the factory settings. A short sound will confirm the success of the procedure.
Turn on the ignition to confirm the command. The side lights flash five times (see video).

Trunk control

The option is activated when installing the starline system. To use, you need to press the third button for a few seconds, and then click on the first.

The following instructions will allow you to activate the function: remove the car from security mode, use the “V” button 5 times, turn on the ignition, hear 5 signals, press the button 13 more times, and each press will be accompanied by a sound notification. We set values from 1 to 4, where the button number corresponds to the value, and to set the fourth value, you need to hold down and then click the first key.

Disabling the anti-theft system without a key fob

Sometimes there are cases of loss of the Starline security system control key fob or its complete malfunction. Then you need to turn off the alarm manually, namely:

Coded deprotection.
Normal emergency removal.

To use these methods, you need to know exactly the location of the secret Valet button (switching the car to the service state). This button is most often located near the control levers, in the area of the safety block, behind the glove compartment, near the steering wheel or under the car panel.

If you do not find the service button, then you need to contact the company where the alarm was installed or call the previous owner of the vehicle.

To disconnect a car from the security system without using a key fob, you need to use the correct algorithm. It depends on which starline anti-theft system is installed on the car. Let's take a closer look at the algorithm for unlocking the anti-theft system, depending on the model.

Starline A1, A2, A4

Disabling these security system models depends on the operating method of programmed option No. 5. If you use the shutdown method without entering an individual password, then you need to do the following:

Open the door.
Start the ignition for a few seconds.
Press the service button 3 times.
Turn off the ignition.

If you use the disabling method by entering an individual password, then you need to do the following:

Open the door and start the ignition for a few seconds.
Press the service button several times (the number of presses is equal to the first digit of the individual password).
Turn off and then restart the ignition.
Press the service button several times (the number of presses is equal to number two from the individual password).
Turn off the ignition.

Starline A6

To disarm a vehicle on which this anti-theft system is installed, you need to:

Open the door and start the ignition.
Press the secret button several times (the number of presses is equal to number one of the personal password).
Turn off and restart the ignition.
Press the secret button several times (the number of presses is equal to number two of the personal password).
Turn off the engine.

Starline A8, A9

If your car has an alarm system of this model, then to unlock it you must do the following:

Open the vehicle door and turn on the ignition.
Press the secret button 4 times within a few seconds.
Turn off the engine.

If the programmed method is automatic arming, then after turning off the engine you need to start it again for at least half a minute, and then turn it off.

Starline B6, B9, A62, A92, B62, B92

Disabling these models depends on the state of the programmed option No. 9. If you use the shutdown mode without entering a personal password, you need to do the following:

Open the vehicle door.
Start the ignition and press the secret button 3 times within half a minute.
Turn off the engine.

If the automatic arming mode is selected, then after stopping the engine you need to turn it on again for 15 seconds and then turn it off.

If you use the method of entering a personal password, you need to do the following:

Open the car door and turn on the ignition.
Press the secret button the required number of times equal to the first digit of your personal password.
Turn off the engine.

If a method is programmed with entering a 2 or 3-digit password, then you need to start the ignition again and enter the necessary numbers by pressing the secret button. These steps must be repeated two or three times.

If for some reason the car could not be disarmed, then you need to contact the service department.

How to unlock a91

The StarLine A91 alarm key fob, which is used to issue most commands, has a shock-resistant housing. The StarLine A91 main remote control allows you to perform various actions with the car without a key, which is facilitated by convenient communication, a remote antenna, and a color screen. The presence of navigation buttons and sensors makes it possible to operate car alarms at a considerable distance, overcoming interference.

There are several ways to unlock the Starline signaling system. For each device model they are slightly different, but the general principle remains the same.

Methods for disabling the alarm:

Replacing the battery in the key fob. If after this the problem has not been resolved, then you should try to disconnect the car from the Starline alarm using a spare control panel.
Emergency shutdown. In this case, you need to open the car door and press the Valet button.
Removing the terminals from the battery. This method is often used in the cold season, when battery discharge is not considered a rare occurrence. It consists of removing one of the terminals and recharging the battery. After completing the work, you will need to re-program the control panel.

Disarm the Starline A2, A3, A4, A8, A9 alarm system

The system shutdown algorithm for these models is simple. The alarm instruction includes four steps.

The key must be used to open the car door. The alarm will sound.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it on.
We get to the Valet alarm button. Press it three times for 20 seconds. This is true for Starline A1, A2 or A4 systems. To turn off the A8 or A9, press the Valet key four times.
The vehicle will sound an alert and the alarm will turn off. After this, the alarm will be turned off, you can start the engine with the key or reconfigure the system. If you fail to press the Valet button within the 20-second timer, you will no longer be able to turn off the alarm.

Methods for eliminating alarm blocking

To unlock the starline alarm you need to do the following:

Replace the battery in the control key fob. If after replacing the battery the vehicle does not respond to signals, then you need to try to open the car using the second key fob (if it is included in the kit).
Open the car using the key and turn off the alarm by pressing the Valet button (emergency shutdown of the anti-theft system).
Remove the terminals from the battery. In winter, the blocking of the security alarm is often associated with a low car battery. This can be determined if the lamps are dim, the car does not start and the anti-theft system does not turn off. In this case, to block the alarm, you must remove one of the terminals. After charging the battery, it is necessary to reprogram the control key fob.

If attempts to remove engine locks and start the engine are unsuccessful, then there is a high probability of a serious malfunction or failure of individual alarm elements. The result is random activation of engine locks, which cannot be disabled using standard methods. The faulty car must be taken to a service station, as removing the lock will require professional intervention.

Failure of the security alarm unit.
The presence of a large number of radio interference in the area where the vehicle is located (for example, at the airport).
The car battery is low.

Regardless of the reason for blocking, the car doors can be opened. But what about the engine? To completely unblock StarLine, it is necessary to identify and eliminate the malfunction.

To unlock Starline, the following steps may be required:

Replace the batteries in the alarm key fob. If this work does not produce results, use the second (spare) remote control and try to open the doors with it (if you have such a key fob).
Discard the terminals from the car battery. If the problem occurs during the cold season, then the blocking of the anti-theft system may be caused by a discharge of the vehicle's power supply. Diagnosing such a problem is not difficult. If the headlights are very dim and the car does not start, then turning off the alarm will also not work. In such a situation, discard one of the terminals, charge the battery, and after returning it to its place, reprogram the key fob.
Open the car doors with the key and turn off the security system using the Valet service button. With this approach, you deactivate the alarm in emergency mode.

Location of the Valet service button on some vehicles

Turn off the alarm unit. You can find this device under the car dashboard. To turn it off, you need to remove the wires from the unit and start the vehicle. If the engine cannot be started, it means that some devices are blocked. To unlock StarLine, discard the wires that go from the anti-theft system unit to the vehicle wires, and then connect the ends of the factory wiring. After the completed manipulations, the engine should start.

Another situation is possible when the car owner has lost the security system key fob, or the Starline remote control has completely failed. In such a situation, the only way is to turn off the alarm manually:

Using a special code.
Emergency shutdown.

To unlock StarLine using the methods mentioned, you need to know exactly the location of the service button (Valet). With its help, the car alarm is switched to service mode. Typically, the button is installed near the fuse box, near the control levers, under the dashboard, near the steering wheel or behind the glove compartment.

If you cannot find the Valet button, contact the service station where the security system was installed or call the previous owner of the vehicle (in the case when the car was purchased second-hand). To disable a vehicle from the alarm system without a key fob, use a proven algorithm. It may vary depending on the model of security system installed in the car. If deactivation is performed without specifying a personal password, take the following steps:

Open the car door.
Turn on the ignition and leave it active for 20 seconds.
During this time, press the Valet key three times.
Turn off the ignition.

If you need to unlock StarLine by entering your personal password, proceed as follows:

Open the door and start the car. Leave the engine running for a few seconds.
Press the Valet key several times. Here, focus on the 1st digit of your personal password.
Turn off, and immediately after performing this action, turn on the ignition again.
Press the service key several times. Now focus on the second digit of your personal password.
Turn off the ignition.

To unlock Starline A6, do the following:

Open the car door and turn on the ignition.
Within 20 seconds, press the Valet key a certain number of times (focus on the first digit in the individual code).
Turn the ignition off and on again.
Click on Valet several times (in this case, focus on the second digit of your personal code).
Turn off the engine.

If your car is equipped with a security system of older models A8 and A9, then you can unlock StarLine as follows:

Open the car door, insert the key and start the ignition.
Press the Valet key 8 times within 20 seconds for a couple of seconds.
Turn off the engine.

If the security system is programmed to automatically arm the alarm, then after turning off the engine, you need to start it again for a period of 30 seconds or more, and then turn it off.

For older versions of StarLine, you need to do everything in accordance with the video posted above, with the only difference: press the Valet button 8 times instead of 3 times.

To unlock these types of Starline, you should take into account function program number 9. If you use the method without a personal password, follow these steps:

Open the car door.
Turn on the ignition and press the Valet button three times (you must do it within 30 seconds).
Turn off the engine.

In a situation where you have chosen the option of automatically arming the car with an alarm system, after turning off the engine, start it again for 15 seconds and turn it off.

If a personal password is used to disable the security system, do this:

Open the car door and turn on the ignition.
Press the Valet key several times (focus on the first digit in the individual password).
Turn off the engine.

If the program contains a password with two or three digits, turn on the ignition again and perform the necessary manipulations with the service button, according to the principle discussed above. Repeat all steps two or three times, depending on the number of digits in the code.

Disabling the turbo timer

If, in the case of temperature-based start, the mode allows the engine to automatically warm up before driving, then thanks to the turbo timer it gradually cools down. If the need for the function disappears, it can be disabled.

The turbo timer is turned off when the security mode is turned on. To do this, first long press the third button to enter the settings menu at the bottom of the display. Then, using short presses on the same key, select the icon with the inscription “TURBO” and confirm the choice with button number 1. In accordance with the instructions, the “Turbo” button will disappear from the display and a melodic signal from the key fob will sound.
